3.5 overall stars from me. Molos js a Mediterranean
3.5 overall stars from me. Molos js a Mediterranean restaurant that overlooks the Hudson River and the NY Skyline in Weehawken, NJ. It's beautiful and a great place to go to if you're interested in the aesthetic and overall ambiance of a dinning experience. They specialize in seafood, with fresh catch each day, and have imported Greek products. They also have an upstairs if you would like to host a private event, I'm sure it's a spectacular location with the views. The staff is attentive and very friendly. We had a great experience with them. As for the food, not mind blowing but good. My favorite had to be the oysters and the grilled octopus. Solid establishment!

View is definitely great but food is normal even desserts are not good, too sweat. Over price while food and service don't deserve the price. We booked for 6. Two of us arrived early but the reception didn't let us have a seat until all 6 people arrived. There were many empty seats at that time. I don't know why they insisted such ridiculous rules which made guests feel very uncomfortable.

Waited over an Hour past our Reservation time, Service was painfully slow, food was good not great & though they have a no cap policy they made my 12 year old Grandson take off his baseball cap(which was fine)but then seated a party of 6 with 2 gentlemen wearing knit hats & not a word to them. So shame on them. I doubt they will see me again.
Be the first to ReplyFood was overpriced and bland .
Service was off also. i am not sure how they justify those prices when the food is not any better than a Red Lobster

You can't beat the views on this place! You get amazing views of the Manhattan skyline. As you walk in you see a very ornate Bougainvillea decorated with some fairy lights. The food however is ok. I had the Greek Salad and the Chicken. The salad was ok. Not bad not great. Just ok. The chicken was the same. Ok. It was juicy and lemony but not great for the price. I did find the food a little pricey.

This is my first time here at this beautiful elegant restaurant! Amazing great food love it every minute I was there! I can't wait to go back and try the delicious fresh red snapper! The service from the beginning to the end was fantastic, great atmosphere! And the New York view is amazing beautiful! I had the best night !
Be the first to Reply2.5 stars I came here to celebrate my friend's birthday
2.5 stars I came here to celebrate my friend's birthday this weekend. We had an early dinner reservation and unfortunately some people in my party were late. They only hold the reservation for 15 minutes but they were able to accommodate us almost immediately when they arrived (even on a busy Saturday night) which we appreciated. The restaurant itself is beautiful. It's right on the water with amazing views of the city. The menu is Greek cuisine with a strong seafood focus. I found the menu items to be very overpriced across the board. I know it's prime real estate but these were high even for nyc standards. And I'm not sure that the food quality itself was commensurate with the price. My friends had mocktails to start out, which they said were good (They only had two mocktails options to choose from). The waiter encouraged us to order our appetizers and entrees all at once since Saturdays can be very busy. Even though we ordered everything together, our entrees still took quite a while to arrive. In general, service was a little spotty. We had to ask for water refills a few times and it was a long wait for the check. To start out, we had the bread basket (yes, they charge for bread and butter), fried feta, and one of the spread with pita. Fried feta is normally one of my faves. This one was okay. The sesame coating was what I expected but it fell a little short. My friend who was celebrating a birthday had the lamb chops. He said the portion was a little on the small side but they were good. I had two appetizers as my main- the octopus and grilled eggplant . The octopus portion was actually quite generous, as large as an entree. I really didn't enjoy it though. It was very fishy. I usually love Greek octopus for the nice charbroiled taste but it was overpowered here by the fishiness. The eggplant was tender and would have been good if they hadn't added some of the toppings they did. In what world does granola go on top of eggplant? They topped the eggplant with granola and some cheese and pumpkin seeds. It was just too much going on. The others in our party had the duck. Interestingly, the meat entrees all came with the same house sauce even though they were different dishes. My husband wasn't super into the duck. Dessert was probably the best course. We had the orange cake which was fluffy and syrupy and the chocolate cake which was very moist and soft. Overall, I thought their ambience here was really nice and it's definitely a place to go to impress a date, but the food and service lacked a lot to be desired.

So my boyfriend surprised me right before coming to celebrate our anniversary dinner and proposed right in front of this beautifully located establishment, with the NYC skyline how could I say anything else other than Yes! The ambiance is sophisticated the type is place you can actually dress up to. We were so distracted by what just happened we shared with our waiter Niko that we literally just got engaged and he treated us to a glass of Prosecco. He was so attentive and kind. For our cocktails I had the lychee martini which was beautifully made and my partner had a margarita which was good. We got the bread bowl that came with olives which were delicious. As the appetizer we got the grilled octopus my boyfriend, excuse me, fiancé is a lil squeamish, but trust me when I say the octopus was delectable, light, tender and well seasoned, For dinner I had the seafood orzo and my fiancé the lamb chops both cooked to perfection but the orzo stole the show the shrimp were so big and fresh and the orzo was so flavorful I wanted seconds. For dessert which we normally do not do our waiter suggested the bougasta which was this creamy vanilla custard inside a crispy flakey crust topped with cinnamon served with ice cream and powdered sugar. If they have this when you come, get it, you will not be disappointed. It was absolutely divine and not too sweet at all Then as an additional surprise we were given a beautiful baklava plate with congrats and a candle where we made a wish together. ( my phone died so I don't have a picture) but this was such a nice kind touch, thank you for celebrating us. This was the best dinner of my whole life. Thank you for being apart of this memory for us and thank you Niko ( Nicholas S.) for making us feel so loved.

We looked forward to a nice dinner at this restaurant with a view. Turns out the view is the only draw! We ordered the white snapper for two at $98 with grilled octopus appetizer. The octopus was rubbery and bathed in a heavy brown sauce. Our waiter then informed us that the snapper would be $120 because the fish weighed more, whaaaat? The fish. Hmmmmmm completely tasteless. White fish with no spices. At all. Menu claimed the chef boned the fish. One quarter of the way into it I had already removed 12 sharp bones. One of them got past me and I swallowed it. Ouch! And did I mentioned that this painful meal experience took sooooo long? If this is Greek inspired food it surely doesn't resemble Greek food I've enjoyed all over Greece. Management was nice enough to comp both meals.
Be the first to ReplyCame to celebrate my wife birthday and it was decent.
When my lobster came the chef didn't break the shell. It was also upside down. No need to pay so much money for a meal to have to be breaking shells. The potato's tasted like literal lime and the fries were a tad brunt. On a positive note the table was amazing, water view to the city.
Be the first to ReplyWhat can I say, we had a blast at this restaurant.
We came here to celebrate my significant other's birthday. We were seated by the window and I must say the view was to die for. It is one of the best views of NYC you can get! The floor-to-ceiling windows overlooking the Hudson are truly stunning and made you felt like you were floating on the water. It was the perfect backdrop for dinner. The interior decorations, set-up, and ambiance are also perfect. The exposed wine racks and fresh seafood market display add a unique vibe to the place. It all came together really well. The host was super friendly and checked in on us the entire night. Made sure our time there was special. As for dinner, the food was delectable. For appetizers we had the jumbo shrimp cocktail (8/10). For the main course we selected the lobster pasta and the prime filet mignon (10/10). The pasta had a lot of flavor and the filet mignon was cooked to perfection. They have a wide selection of wine and cocktails. There is something for everyone. We ended night with a very rich slice of chocolate cake and taking a walk on the patio to get a longer glimpse of the NYC view. 10/10 would recommend.

Great food, amazing experience, and even better service!! Our Waiter, I believe his name is Alad, gave us the best recommendations for the specials and we shared plenty of laughs throughout the night. Overall, we had a phenomenal experience and the service we received from Alad was absolutely memorable! We will definitely be going back to Molos.
Be the first to ReplyWas very disappointed.
This is such a gorgeous space with arguably the best view....however food was not as good. Aside from an eggplant appetizer (pictured) which was dam near delectable everything else fell flat. Our waiter was really knowledgeable about the menu and gave a really nice wine recommendation. I'd say the view and service are keeping this place open. Really wanted to like it here.
Be the first to ReplyOne of the best of the waterfront restaurants.
The view of nyc and the river is insane. The service and food are impecable. But beware, this place gets crowded quickly. Don't do the walk in thing. Make a reservation. The staff does it best but when your spot is this hot, its tough. I have only been there once and I strongly recommend it for foodies and moodies who love ambience, class and romance... Cya.
Be the first to ReplyThis was my 2nd time there and it was a terrible experience
This was my 2nd time there and it was a terrible experience to be honest . So the entrees were terrible I had the filet mignon and my girlfriend had the lobster pasta . The temperature on my steak was completely off and my server came 15 min later to ask how it was . The pasta was left untouched because the sauce was really bad and lobster was over cooked . I'm not the type to complain but my serve did even ask was there anything wrong with the pasta even thought the plate was full . On top of all this they over charged my card for the tips and I just noticed today when I checked my bank account which is fraud and I will be calling my bank to dispute that charge and will speak to the manger as well because under no circumstances should any restaurant do that !!! Pretty much waste of $200 dollars and way over priced at this point , it's nothing but a good view . Wouldn't recommend to anyone ,save your money and go somewhere instead . If you want something for the view and a bit better food just go to chart house by there it's much better service and food quality and pretty much the same view .

Pros: The appetizers was delicious and waiters were friendly and helpful. Cons: The entrees and manager/coworker. I came on Friday, February 12th, to celebrate my friend's birthday. I looked for an employee at the front desk, which happened to be the manager/owner. When I tried to get his attention by saying "Excuse me", he immediately put his finger in front my face. Already a bad start from him. Someone else at the front desk politely directed my friend and I to our table for a party of 13. The appetizers and the hospitality from the waiters were the saving grace. Then came the entrees. The quality of the food didn't match the price. Calling the food bland is an understatement. Majority of the party's main critique was the lack of flavor. My friend ordered a lobster pasta thinking it would be pasta with the lobster meat. With our surprise, the plate came with pasta on the side and the half of the whole lobster still in its shell. My friend didn't even attempt to take the meat off inside the lobster. There was a moment that night when the alarms went off. It wasn't long until the alarm stopped ringing and my friends and I went back to our table. A couple minutes later, the same manager who put his finger in front of my face shouted to our table the reason why the alarm went off and he had to pay for a $2000 fine. Were my friends and I supposed to feel bad or something? Why is he telling customers this? I feel bad for the employees who work for a manager who presents a high level of unprofessionalism and disrespect. Overall, I wouldn't recommend anyone to have a dinner party at Molos.
Be the first to ReplyAmazing food.
.. amazing view...amazing service... and amazing ambience! I can't wait to dine here again! I had the lobster pasta and some oysters. Everything was great. I also had the lavender drink (well about 3) and it was awesome. I will be back soon ;)
Be the first to ReplyThis place is nothing Short of spectacular.
The food was amazing the views were incredible and staff and service was tremendous. I took my wife their for her birthday and she had a truly amazing time. We basically went down the menu and order almost everything, definitely won't be our only time there. The crabs cakes is one of those thing I'm not usually thrilled about having but they made it perfectly it was fresh moist and so flavorful. The prawns were enormous fresh straight from the sea well seasoned and perfectly cooked. We had the appetizer sample platter as well and couldnt get enough of everything. We then ordered the swordfish along with a pasta and a type of rice and shrimp can't remember the name of it. As a person who doesn't like fish much that swordfish changed my mind it just melted in your mouth perfectly cooked and a burst of flavors. The mashed potatoes was like butter in your mouth with all the flavors you didn't even know you needed to taste. The views can't get any better than this your literally sitting on the water looking over the city from one end to the next it really makes you admire the cities building. The restaurant itself was absolutely clean beautifully done decor intimate lighting but not so dull you can't see the person across from you. The staff was very accommodating helpful and friendly. The waiter took her time and explained the menu and what pairs nicely together and was so polite we felt like royalty. Even the owner or manger came out and greeted us to make sure we were satisfied with everything which was a nice touch. Overall I gave this place an "A++ quality was worth every penny
Be the first to ReplyGreat choice for Greek cuisine.
Not sure why they only have an overall 3.5 star rating. Excellent food, customer service, atmosphere, food, water front view of the Hudson River and Manhattan skyline, super clean bathrooms, wait staff, reception, free parking or valet parking, etc.My friend recommended Molos who heard about them from others who had been here. Nice venue and everyone that we dealt with were genuine, wanted their customers to really enjoy the experience and were very friendly. It's a large space, large deck which will be great to eat at during the summer and watch the boats go by.The only negative I had was we were a party of four and the table was tight to say the least. We started with a bottle of Amethystous which is 2020 Greek Red wine. Excellent choice, not acidic. For appetizers ordered the filet mignon souvlaki which was really good. We also shared the Saganaki, tuna tartare and eggplant appetizer which had a great spin on it. The main courses were Dover Sole the waiter did the best job I ever have seen of deboning the fish at the table. Filet mignon steak which comes with lemon potatoes we also had the Ahi tuna which wax over yogurt with pomegranate and couscous. We also had the Lavraki which is like sea bass. Sides were grilled veg, asparagus, French fires. For desert we had the Greek galaktobousreko which is like a custard in a filo type dough. It comes with a small scoop of chocolate ice.We also had the Karidopita which is walnut cake. Overall great experience, no time limit as we spent a little over 3 hours there. Dinner for 4 was $600 with tip so be prepared. Appetizers run on average $24-$28. Entrees $38 on up, sides, some are pricey. Sides also getting up there. Grilled veg $18, Asparagus $16. I would recommend them as everything was solid.
Be the first to ReplyLet me preface this by saying that the layout of this
Let me preface this by saying that the layout of this restaurant, the view, and the waitress and staff were all excellent. Now, onto the unfortunate faults.I went to eat here with my family, and everyone else said their food was great. But I had the fillet mignon (which was $48). There was just no seasoning. I don't mean it was under-seasoned, I mean there was 0 seasoning. It also was just butchered badly, there were a few large bits of cartilage I had to cut off that just weren't edible. A filet mignon should be all edible, you shouldn't have to poke around it. I could tell that the no seasoning issue was not just me, because I saw someone else who ordered it also took one bite and asked for salt and pepper and layered it on like I did. I'm not sure what's happening with the filet mignons, but if you're a chef at this establishment, please just season them. Almost all the other food was excellent, but this was just awful. On another note, it's worth keeping in mind that you will be charged for everything here. Nothing is free, including the water. All in all, everyone enjoyed else their food, it was all great except for the fillet mignon. Worth keeping in mind.

Such a beautiful place with an even more beautiful view of NYC. Perfectly on the water with a dining room that looks out on the Hudson. The staff is so kind and attentive. Our waiter made some great reccs for food and wine. The food was delicious and the servings are pretty large so they're good for sharing.
Be the first to ReplyFood is bad! So bland and tasteless.
No salt in any dish. Service is good though. Won't come back
Be the first to ReplyWe have been there thru a friend's suggestion.
View is beautiful, Manhattan is all open in front you. But the food was away below my expectations. The salad was warm and obviously prepared and left sometime. Bread was not fresh. Grilled Calamari was smelly and stale, we had to return it back. Steak was average, sea bass was another disappointment. The taste was not right, and again giving that stale feeling. They might be a business established long time ago, when looking at location, view and high prices. But their kitchen need to be more careful. Nice location, best view, poor food quality...

Decided to check this place out after seeing that there was a Greek restaurants close by.Didn't have reservations. Went to the front and there was a girl and guy. Guy helped us get seated outside quicklyService: okay. Server was okay. Nothing good or badSpread: got all 5. Yogurt, eggplant, spicy feta, roe?, and garlic. Comes with pita and the pita was good and slightly chewy. Taste better than what it looks like. Spicy feta is not spicy. Garlic was our favGreek salad: more like tomato salad with garnish and feta cheese. Thin slices of cucumber. Felt like I ate 2/3 whole tomatoes with dressing and feta cheeseDrinks-Spicy pineapple margarita- good but cup seems like it's on the thinner and smaller side. Drink was def on the weaker side of most spicy margs I've triedLemoni- def got this cus I read that it was a drink with egg whites. I like to try drink with egg whites cus my sister usually likes drink that have egg whites and I would've told her about BUT... I don't see egg whites. Also said muddled strawberry.. I saw like little flecks of the seed and stuff and one strawberry.. so not sure.. maybe I read the drink menu incorrectlyThey give you the drink/cocktail menu then come out and ask for what water you want and give you a bigger menu so we thought it was the dinner menu but it was another drink menu. Had to ask for the dinner menu.Parking- there's a lot across for customers to park at.View is amazing! Colder on the pergola but it's so pretty. Loved seeing the sunset. Didn't see the sunset but you could tell the sun was setting since it hit the building and the sky kept changing. So prettyI asked the waiter about hh and they don't have it anymore. Wanted to check out hh but I guess notGreek
