Avoid. Poor Service and Sub Par Food
I would avoid this restaurant. There are better options in Chinatown. This service here is very poor and non-attentive. We aren't sure if we even had a server while we were there. The ordering process is very confusing and it's almost all on your own. The food is poor and not fresh.

The food was good at the staff was kind. I’m Asian and the food was Chinese and not American Chinese. Pretty good place for a Chinese food.
Be the first to ReplyHuge portions, great food
A worker at our hotel recommended this as a good restaurant in Chinatown and they were right. The food was very good. It tasted and looked great. And the portion size, oh my, it was huge. Two plates fed three men and we still had leftovers. Ordering on iPads that you hand to the wait staff made the process easy as you could see info about the food easy. Service was fast. Prices are reasonable, especially for the portion sizes. Definitely would recommend if you are in Chinatown.
Be the first to ReplyGreat Dim Sum in the Heart of Chinatown
Great dim sum, thanks reviewers for steering us here! We stopped for lunch on a day trip into the city and as reviewers have noted, seating and service is rapid on a weekday and we readily found street parking within two blocks. The staff is gracious and welcoming. On weekdays you order entrees from a tablet and dim sum from a printed sheet but dim sum items will arrive to your table by cart.

We visited the MingHin restaurant on Ohio street (Streeterville). HIGHLY recommend. We made dinner out of dim sum with a side of pork belly. The service was fantastic and the food even better. The atmosphere is quite and lovely.

Four friends attending a conference nearby went to this restaurant in Chinatown for a fantastic meal. Everything we ordered was delicious. We had four main courses and a few dim sum to choose from. The fried rice dishes were excellent. The service was very friendly.

Very large portions, everything delicious. Acceptable price, good quality. I recommend it. If you are passing through Chicago and want to eat Chinese food this is a good place.
Be the first to ReplyAwesome dim sum spot
The dim sum was outstanding! Very quick service. They sat us quickly and brought out our food quickly and hot. The bean sauce and hot chili oil at the table was icing on the cake
Be the first to ReplyExceptional Meal
Wonderful dim sum. Deep fried shrimp rolls and pork buns were especially exceptional. Main dishes were also very good, and condiments including chili sauce were provided without having to request them. The one less than bright spot was the soups, which lacked flavor - astral difference from the rest of the meal.

The food is excellent and varied. The portions are generous. The restaurant is clean and very busy. And it gives you the opportunity to discover Chicago's Chinatown.
Be the first to ReplyAuthentic dim sum
Our only other experience with dim sum was in Hong Kong, and this meal seemed very authentic compared to what we remembered. Lots of Chinese customers, at any rate, which is always a good sign. We ordered four dishes to share: Honey BBQ ribs, pork buns, shrimp dumplings, and fried rice. The barbecued pork bun was the best, and really reminded us of China. The shrimp dumplings were our second favorite, although they were a bit difficult to eat with chopsticks. I found the ribs to be fatty and the fried rice was both very sticky and fishy tasting. Not to my liking. Otherwise it is always fun to order lots of dishes to share. The service was good, though not overly attentive or overly helpful in explaining how to order. Overall, it was an average dining experience.
Be the first to ReplyBland and largely tasteless
We had lunch on a Thursday. The five dim sum we ordered were bland and largely tasteless. The two dishes from the regular menu were poorly seasoned and not particularly good. The restaurand is extremely large so I can only assume we were there on a very slow day because most of the tables were unoccupied. Service was very good. Prices would be reasonable if the food was better.
Be the first to ReplyVery good lunch in Chinatown
We arrived and were shocked by the size of the line. But it moves really fast, because the restaurant is very large. We enjoyed soup and a few Dim Sum entrees. Everything was very good. I would recommend it.

First time at the restaurant and my friends first time eating dim sum style at a Chinese restaurant. We had the pot stickers, egg rolls, Kung pow chicken and beef with pea pods. The food was amazing.
Be the first to ReplyGenerous portions
Dined with coworkers and I ordered the Ma Po Tofu (spelling?). Be warned, the portion size is super generous. The tofu was silky and just melted when bitten into. Everyone enjoyed their meal and it was super filling with sweet and courteous staff who also provided take out boxes for leftovers.
Be the first to ReplyAwful
Service was almost non existent. We were seated. Handed a tablet to order on. Given weak tea and tepid water. We decided to get some appetizers. The potsticker were greasy and served with a disgusting red sauce. The marinated jellyfish was awful. All in all not good; we will never return.

Was ok but not great. We were there for dinner. The portion was huge but quality was ok, nothing spectacular. No
Be the first to ReplyDisappointing Dimsum
We chose Minghin for dimsum because reviews were stellar. Unfortunately, it did NOT live up to the hype. The dimsum was “okay” - fine but far from wow - and the service was lacking overall. The restaurant itself was tired and dingy. Go elsewhere.

Hot tea is always the way to start an evening of good food. Won ton soup was also hot and the pork was tasty. Liked the coating on the shrimp in the walnut shrimp. Shredded pork with udon noodles was good. The place is large and we were seated in an ample booth. The menu had many offerings we would have liked to try.

Cuisine? $300 of food picked up for a family get together on trip to Chicago. The best I can say is ehhh. Nothing and I mean nothing was memorable. And there were a couple of that was a mistake. I had such high expectations reading the reviews. I now wish we had ordered pizzas instead
Be the first to Replyfavorite dimsum!!
came here with family and some big expectations from other friends who recommended this place. it did not disappoint!!!! everything was soooo good. if we hadn't been tied up we would have come back for dinner!! by the time we left, there was a huge line of people waiting for their number to be called so we had gotten there at a good time. this place is going to be a regular stop for me from now on
Be the first to ReplyGood dim sum and the restaurant was not a hole in the wall
Highly recommend the dim sum. Comes out nice and fresh. I like the concept that the food is made to order and not sitting on a cart. Ordered several items on the dim sum menu as well as the lunch menu. The ribs could be better but they were still decent. Everything else was great

We arrived at MingHin on a Friday around 8:30 pm without a reservation. Our wait was only 15 minutes for a table. This location of MingHim did not have outdoor seating. The waiter was very helplful with our order, so we did not have to use the pad to place our order. For the two of us, we ordered 4 dim sum dishes and one order of steamed vegetables and enjoyed all of the food. We probably should have ordered one more dim sum. Food came quickly and was very hot. The wine was not of great quality. Compared to the NYC area, this was a $$ place, not $$$. It was nice that the majority of diners were Asian. We would return to MingHin on our next trip to Chicago.
Be the first to ReplyIn search of the Best of Oriental Cusine.
I have a dear friend who I connected with early on because of our love for Oriental Food... particularly Hot and Sour Soup! I know, odd pairing right??? We have traveled and sampled Oriental Food far and wide on every opportunity that we can.
Our latest adventure was into the famed China Town District of Chicago. The area came highly touted and didn't disappoint. Our recent trip was a little over two hours from our homes in Wisconsin to MingHin Cuisine on Archer Avenue, in Chicago. We read dozens of positive reviews before coming and were prepared to expect excellence! We started with a lovely cucumber salad, potstickers and seafood hot and sour soup. WOW!!! The cucumber salad was amazing and the flavors of the dressing was steeped in garlic and wonderfully flavored oil. The potstickers were perfectly formed and steamed, stuffed with a savory sausage. The sauces were amazing! The sea food hot and sour soup was the finest. The broth was rich in flavor, but as we explored each ingredient in the soup the flavors burst forward onto the pallet! The taste was extraordinary by any standards.
Our entrees included crispy fish, onions and green peppers in a red sweet and spicy sauce - not unlike sweet and sour. This was delicious. We also ordered a combination fried rice, with beef, chicken and pork, as well as an order of shrimp with garlic lobster sauce. Both of these dishes we were able to add vegetables or our choice - a very nice option for those who love to enhance their favorite dishes with specific veggies! We truly appreciate that flexibility of a chef and kitchen with their recipes! All in all, this was the finest of dining experiences and we will return with guests as soon as our schedule allows. Bravo, MingHin Cuisine!!!
Great Chinese Restaurant
Have been ordering take-out from one of our favorite local restaurants for months, so getting back there to eat in was great. Service is efficient, food is delicious as were some well mixed gin martinis. Reasonable pricing with high-quality food is a great combination for your dining consideration. Check it out!
