If you want a great lobster dinner, look no further.
Not a surprise as the name indicates! Love the upscale vibe, perfect for celebrations or business dinner. We had a great experience

Went to Mastro's to celebrate a 65th Birthday with my family and from the second we walked in there was an uncomfortable nature ! They seated us in the back next to the waiters station and through the entire meal all I could hear was the waiters complaining !! The waiter " Oscar" I found to be nasty ! His attitude changed once he realized that we are not ordering alcohol with dinner . It appears his tip is based on an increased alcohol tab so he coped an attitude with us . He was curt when taking the order and just made us feel unworthy of eating at the restaurant ! Trust me money is not an issue for me and I don't mind eating the over inflated prices but to be demeaned by a wait staff doesn't fly in my book ! I would never make a scene during dinner ! We ate, left and vowed never to go back ! After talking to some friends they had the exact same experience ! Sad since the ambience is beautiful but the vibe is POOR. Good luck for the future. You need to have support staff on the floor at every step to control this or you will find that your restaurant will fail in this economy !

Be the first to ReplyMastro's Steakhouse is truly one of my favorite restaurants.
The consistent elegance and exceptional service make it a memorable dining experience every time you visit. The food at Mastro's is consistently outstanding, leaving you satisfied and eager to return. To start off my meal, I always indulge in their colossal shrimp cocktail, which I describe as the best shrimp cocktail I've ever had. The combination of the fresh, humongous shrimp and the flavorful cocktail sauce creates a truly memorable dish. Following that, I enjoyed their fantastic and lobster-loaded lobster bisque. The abundance of lobster in the bisque sets it apart from other steakhouse options. Before diving into my main course, I make sure to leave room for the house salad, which is the best house salad I've ever had. Topped with shrimp, this salad is a true delight and often requires sharing due to its generous portion. And finally, the star of the show, the bone-in ribeye cooked to a perfect medium-rare. Served sizzling hot and bursting with flavor, this steak is the ultimate indulgence. Pairing it with a nice bottle of Cabernet Sauvignon enhances the dining experience even further. And the butter cake!!! Must have dessert . . . That fresh whipped cream . . . Leaves me speechless. I highly recommend Mastro's Steakhouse not only for special occasions but for any occasion that calls for a delicious and satisfying meal. Whether you're celebrating or simply hungry, Mastro's will provide you with an exceptional dining experience that consistently exceeds your expectations.
Be the first to ReplyThis use to be my favorite steak house and I would say out
This use to be my favorite steak house and I would say out of the great steaks houses in the valley ocean club food and service was always my favorite. Me and my date arrived and 6 girls at host stand just stared at us did not greet and it was very uncomfortable and when I had finally engage with them they were very rude and off putting as I told them we had a reservation. Our table was not ready for 15 minutes and we waited and then were sat and server came by and then another server then took the table. It was about 16 minutes before we were able to put in a drink and some appetizers. Wait staff was friendly but not super attentive as they use to be. I use to come this location 8-9 times a year they have always been great in past. The food was ok but not up to par to the mastros experience not sure what has changed but it was not the pleasant experiences I have had in past. I will taking my business to oceans/steak 44 for time being. I honestly hate giving restaurants bad reviews as I use to own them but my experience was that bad I had to voice it here
Be the first to ReplyThe teriyaki sashimi is my absolute favorite here.
There isn't a bad dish on the menu, and the atmosphere is fun and inviting!
Be the first to Replyit was terrible and they're not honest.
It was absolutely empty. The server basically ignored me. Then on a $22 drink she charged me $33.67 for it. Self tipping!! she was certainly not worth the $11. Water down drinks and the food is half the amount it used to be. I have no interest in returning.

Came here just for a drink while listening to a friend play live music. The drinks, a lemon drop and an old fashioned, were amazing and crafted to perfection! The lemon drop had a fun dry ice effect along with it. We didn't get any food, but beware, both drinks and food are very expensive! Each drink was probably about $20, so don't be surprised when the bill arrives!
Be the first to ReplyTook my fiancé here for his birthday.
Will only return for drinks. The food had no flavor ( ribeye, broccoli and creamed corn) Was really disappointed. :( I should've know since I wasn't the only table that looked unhappy with my steak. At least 3 people had sent theirs back. Ambiance was great!

Be the first to ReplyOnce of my absolute favorite places to go for a martini.
George is my favorite bartender by far. He always remembers my name and what I'm drinking. If you sit at the bar, ask for George and get the raspberry lemon drop martini with fresh muddled raspberries and dry ice in the glass. You will be the envy of everyone around you and it tastes amazing!!

I came here in 2016 and remembered the memorable service my waiter gave me. On the way there, I was telling my husband about it. We get seated and what do you know. I asked him how long he'd been there and he answered, I remember making a snap chat video so I went back in my phone and said, is this you and he laughed because we both looked a bit different post covid. We recreated that video. I say that to say, they clearly treat their employees great! We had another memorable service. Food is just okay to me the first time in 2016. This year was better. They have phenomenal crab cakes as an appetizer, calamari was also good. The lobster mash, we ate for a few days and the steak was cooked to perfection. My husband couldn't get enough of the butter cake, lots of flavor. I always get seated at these odd tables in the back when we prefer to be with other guests but that neither here nor there, I just know what to request. I won't wait that long next time around. Third times a charm!
Be the first to ReplyI had one of the best seafood dinners of my life last night
I had one of the best seafood dinners of my life last night at this beautiful restaurant in Scottsdale. Everything was above and beyond expectations and the service was impeccable in every detail. The twin smaller lobster tails were perfectly prepared. My partner and I LOVED the Crab Fried Rice and the Asparagus side was also excellently spiced. Our vodka cocktails were expertly prepared and presented as one would expect at such a fine-dining establishment. A surprise delight was the gluten-free chocolate cake we enjoyed for desert! Maybe it's me but I did feel that the music was playing a bit too loud for calm conversation...but that's the only thing I can suggest. Check out this top-notch seafood place for your next date or special occasion.

Meh......you've seen one Mastro's, you've seen them all. Same ole menu, same ole desserts. This one has the reputation for housing the pathetic gold digger types. Sort of a sad place to go.

Phenomenal experience! I visited Mastro's Ocean Club for my birthday this year. I was made to feel very special. The service is top notch and the food is incredible.I ordered the salmon. Our table ordered brussel spouts, broccoli, calamari, and bread as sides. Each dish was amazing! I'm a seafood fanatic and I was very impressed.Thank you Mastro's for the great experience! If you're in the Kierland area, make a reservation at Mastro's. It will be worth your while.
Be the first to ReplyOcean Club has not changed in the 19 years we have been
Ocean Club has not changed in the 19 years we have been going there and that's a good thing. We had the same server over these years, Kerri, and she made our 20th anniversary a night to remember. The service is impeccable. The food is outstanding. We love the sea bass with creamed spinach side. There's a lot to choose from fish to steaks. All the food here is exceptional. Portions are big so think of splitting Most people dress up to eat here with birthdays and other special occasions filling the room. Best Martinis anywhere and a great wine list.
Be the first to ReplyRating is strictly a function of taste/price ratio.
Food: We had several apps and mains for the 4 of us. Winners: Oysters, served with a kick ass horseradish, blue points, spot on .Calamari was very good, I would have also loved to see grilled on the menu as well.Sides: Wow, the twice baked and the Mac and Cheese were excellent.Lobster Tail was a tad overcooked and ok; not a true winner, but on the positive side.Lobster sushi roll: Daugther loved, I tried it and it was a winner. Just be careful, the sauce is very spicy and the rolls are served on top of it (more on that in the service section).Losers:Wife had the fish (sorry I forgot, but it was the special). She said there was nothing special about it.The bone marrow app is just shameful to serve! It was $28 and there was almost nothing there. Not enough even for one person to get a decent taste. We would have been better off getting caviar and on a per oz basis, would have come out cheaper.Service: Ok, so the service was excellent, but expected for the price and the tip they will get based on the bill. The server didn't seem too enthusiastic, but maybe because we didn't "smell of $". The busboys and assistants did a good job with water refills, but no one asked the kids if they wanted another round of sodas. When my daughter asked if the sushi came in a spicy sauce, the waiter said" No its not spicy". The correct answer should have been" Some may find it spicy, why don't I have the kitchen put the sauce on the side for you."Overall: We have eaten at Mastros Steakhouse in Chicago a few years back and enjoyed it. My first choice was Ocean 44, but it was booked and as the kid wanted lobster before heading back to college, I booked this place. Would I come back? Probably not, Ocean 44 will still be my spot for seafood in the area.
Be the first to ReplyMastro's is exquisite in every way.
First of all, we absolutely love this location. In fact, we sit at the bar for dinner a few times a month just so we can be served by Jamie. The food is off the charts delicious. Normally we split the petit filet with one of their delicious sides. This is the happiest place on earth...or at least in Scottsdale. Romantic, classy, and it always delivers. Top notch service and a winning experience. Mastro's goes above and beyond. Give it a try!

The food and our server, Danny, were fantastic! Ever since we moved from Bellevue, Washington to Arizona, we have been looking for a classy restaurant with great customer service and great food to replace our beloved El Gaucho and Daniels Broiler and we think we may have found it! The lobster mashed potatoes was to die for! The sword fish grilled to perfection! It was our first time and everything was amazing! So amazing that we will be celebrating our upcoming anniversary here. Thank you for a wonderful experience. Update: the followed up phone call is so classy!
Be the first to ReplySad to say, but one of our old favorites, Mastro's Ocean
Sad to say, but one of our old favorites, Mastro's Ocean club, has become a restaurant that you'll want to AVOID. It isn't even a shell of its former self. Zero stars. ^^^^ FIRST UPDATE: So as you can see below, someone from their marketing agency or corporate office responded to my review. No apology. Only a link that brings me to their corporate page where they ask me to spend more of my time to help them and gather up my private, personal information. I tried to spare details of what happened because it was such an embarrassing experience. It was suppose to have been a celebratory event with my wife, son,Parents and mother in law. It wasn't.My review was simply meant to warn people that this restaurant has changed dramatically and at this price point for a "fine dining" establishment, Covid should no longer be an acceptable excuse. Covid doesn't forgive them for serving me an already decomposing 2.5 lb lobster that was also seriously misrepresented in terms of weight. Covid doesn't forgive them for not being able to cook my father's NY Strip - medium, no red, pink center as he requested or provide him with the proper libation he requested. He had to send his drink back twice because of the wrong gin and also had to send his steak back twice, because both times the steak was bloody red/undercooked. No excuse. Covid or otherwise. Covid doesn't excuse their manager for asking me to order something more expensive after hearing about all the issues we were having and then wanting to charge me for it, especially after I discussed all of these issues calmly and discreetly, away from our table. He told me he would take off the $110 lobster and instead give me half pound crab legs at No Charge. At first, he actually wanted to charge me $180/lb! No way! I told him that if he was really being sincere about not charging me, that I'd only need a half-pound ($90 list). I thought I was being nice. He agreed. I also asked for the crab legs to be served chilled with cocktail sauce, not hot with butter. And they came out piping hot, with butter. I have to wonder if that was to hide the taste of the freezer burn. Covid - not an excuse. And to top it off - ***he charged me for them*** when he absolutely said he wouldn't!!The whole evening was just one cluster after another, and again, at this price point, Covid is no excuse. I've been coming here with my wife for 20 years! This was our actual 'first date" restaurant and we both got to know many of the servers very well over the years. The last thing, which was truly disgusting, as we departed, there was an argument taking place outside on the front steps between a what appeared very much to be a prostitute and a "potential" customer (?) fighting about the cost of who knows what. All in all, an $800 dinner worth absolutely $0.00. SECOND UPDATE: To be fair, the manager did comp some of our food, drinks and took off the lobster. And I just got a call from someone on-property who seemed genuinely concerned and said she wants to help. I appreciate that very much. I did feel badly for the server who did his best the entire evening to help, but he wasn't supported by management or operations. If you want fine dining eat elsewhere, and for goodness sakes, leave the parents and kids at home. They shouldn't have to see what is akin to the seedy side of Las Vegas, right here in beautiful Scottsdale, Arizona. Enough Detail for Corporate?
Be the first to ReplyWe went yesterday (Aug 7th) for dinner for our Anniversary.
We ordered 2 orders of the 8oz Wagyu, both medium. They came out and mine was perhaps a touch Medium Rare, though not a big deal. However, hers was completely rare (entirely red) throughout the inside. Our waiter came by the table and instantly recognized it and took it back for us. The 2nd time it came out, it seemed better for the first 2 or 3 bites but, again, it was red throughout the rest of it. It's like only 1/2 of the meat was cooked. The waiter recognized it and took it back again, this time coming back out with the manager and the meat was cooked Medium as it should've been in the beginning. However, because it had been cooked 3 separate times, the surface was pretty charred and the texture wasn't at all similar to how mine was. At that point, she felt like she was just eating the rest out of obligation and because she was hungry.Very disappointing to say the least. Our waiter was very attentive and courteous and his attempts to make our experience better were appreciated, but the quality of the food was extremely disappointing, especially considering the cost. To have to send back a $150 piece of meat 2 additional times to be cooked properly isn't acceptable.I've enjoyed previous experiences with Mastro's but this experience was very frustrating and underwhelming considering that it was our anniversary and it was a fair bit of money spent. Needless to say, our confidence in this location has been shattered after last night.
