We have been in Antibes for a couple weeks, and have found
We have been in Antibes for a couple weeks, and have found all the restaurants we've visited to offer incredible food and service. This restaurant did not live up to our expectations. The server did not put my fiancés entree order in, even though he repeated it back to us after giving our order. My food and side came out at the same time as her side dish, but her entree never came. We understand that accidents can happen and that's fine, but no one was checking on us, so they didn't have a chance to get ahead and resolve the mistake. It had been an hour before the server aligned with us and acknowledged the entree was forgotten. They offered to give us a free dessert which was appreciated, but we felt the ship had sailed at that point since we had waited long enough. The food we did get was not very good. We had Carbonara and sides of Arrabbiata and ratatouille and everything fell a little flat I would not recommend dining here. The food is not nearly good enough to justify the prices and the service feels a bit cold and routine. We left feeling taken a little taken advantage of. This is the first time I've been motivated to leave a negative review.
Be the first to ReplyOne of the best dining experiences ever.
Inquired about a table a few days before and received confirmation 2 days later that something was available. Arrived 30 min early and was seated at that time. Was given a choice to sit in or out- I Recommend sit inside. Service was outstanding. Main waitress was attentive, they have one person solely in charge of the wine list and recommending wine and he made an excellent choice for us, very aromatic white wine that was delicious. Eggplant and Calamari were tasty, Calamari not fried like in the US. Pasta cooked al-dente perfectly. I had the pesto Genovese very tasty. I ordered an espresso martini, but another waiter suggested to change up a couple ingredients in it and he was spot on. Dessert was great everything was delicioso. I was a bit nervous because they do have a smart casual dress code. I just came from St. Tropez and was wearing a nice long sleeve shirt but with shorts and loafers with no socks, but it was absolutely fine, though I do suggest dress it up a bit. Awesome music playing throughout the night. It did run me close to 400 US, but it was our last night of our trip and wanted to make it memorable, and very glad we chose this spot. Mamo came to the table next to us and chatted and took pics with the lovely lady and her mom we ended up befriending, and he even stopped at my table and joked around for a minute or two, and my one regret this whole trip is I didn't ask for a picture with him, maybe I was nervous or shy- but I appreciated him taking time to chat briefly with us. Hope to go back one day.

If you dine at this restaurant you need to bring mosquito spray as my children and I wrrr all bit up. Of you drive theee be prepared to wait 30 minutes for your car with no assistance from the staff. The owner will be in the bar patting his own back and ignoring the customers.

Picked this for our nice dinner out while staying in Antibes!! It's a must!! Great place to go if you're looking for an upscale dinner. Loved the cozy underground feel of the interior. We were fortunate enough to meet the chef on the way out as he was sitting at the bar. Lovely as well as his employees!!

..our waiter was attentive and knowledgable in the menu and wines. After we ordered water and put in our food order it all went downhill. He seemed ticked off we weren't ordering any alcohol...then he took our appetizers away without asking if we were done with it and there was still more on the plate. Next he didn't show up for 15 minutes and finally came around to see our empty water bottles on the edge of the table and not ask if we wanted more...entrees come out and my fork was dirty which is fine it happens in all restaurants. Instead of pointing out it had dried food on it, I said I dropped it on the floor and asked for a new one. A new one never came. I eventually took an extra fork from the table. At the end of it, the slime ball waiter asked if we wanted to tip and instead of adding 18 euro to the bill, he gave himself a 60 euro tip and thought we wouldn't realize. All around not a great experience and the food was just okay.

Absolutely the high-end, people-watching, beautiful Italian restaurant equivalent to Nello New York on Madison avenue. People come in with Bentley. Their any dish choices will not go wrong. You need a reservation much in advance. You need to spray all over your legs before you go for the mosquito bites!

We stopped by here last night without a reservation and the maitre'd was very pleasant and asked us if we could wait at the bar and he would try and accommodate us. The bartender was fun and made us feel at home. After a ten minute wait we were shown to a lovely table, our waiter was fun and never intrusive. Everyone's meal was delicious. A must try if you visit Antibes, but I would definitely make a reservation next time.

It was beautiful service and food. Really appreciated the proper size writing on the menu for folks over 50. We were 6 people and the service and staff were superb. We sat outside. While I prefer the quaint, more gritty alley way restaurants in old town.. the feel here is a little more corporate, yet refined for people who don't prefer the quaint gritty alley way restaurants. Everything was flawless in attentiveness, presentation and timing. Our group collectively had the melon and prosciutto; the lamb; the rabbit; the truffle ravioli the octopus salad and the vodka sorbet. All highly recommended (especially the truffle ravioli). The rabbit was a little hard to eat, but we are not well schooled in eating rabbit. If you are an Italian food lover this is a highly recommended experience for your visit in Antibes.

I have eaten at every popular restaurant in town (recommended from the wonderful concierge at Hotel Du Cap - Eden Roc during my annual visits). Michelangelo is absolutely the best dining experience I have had anywhere abroad. Upon entry, the man at the desk was extremely welcoming. The atmosphere was picturesque-- like we were in old-time Provence. It was busy yet intimate at the same time. Our waitress was divine. NOTE: I would say that were selective about their treatment. There were people eating there given the cold shoulder, and other tables given extra attention. We dressed the part, so I guess we fell somewhere in the middle. Definitely important to be conscious of that~ but not necessarily a bad thing!EVERY single thing we had was to die for. Let me tell you, in my family I always have something to criticize, always the first one to complain. I was floored, and speechless.Complimentary Onion Tart-- Wish I could have ordered more. Delicious and sweet. Great start. Foccacia de Tartuffo-- None of that fake truffle oil BS you get in the States. The real deal. Worth the steep price.Carciofi Salad-- Excellent, very Italian with Carpaccio-like artichoke slices and fresh lemon.Baby Chicken-- Cooked perfectly, full of flavor. Comes with roasted potatoes served right in the cooking pan. Nice touch. The onions were sweet and flavorful on the dish.Spaghetti Michelangelo-- Asked for this spicy (arriabiata). Jam-packed with fresh veggies, in a light tomato sauce. Zucchinis, bell peppers, onions, and fresh tomatoes, along with that kick (very spicy!) was great. Maybe the only thing I'd say was that the lemon meringue pie was only A-OK, which wouldn't even have been that bad had it followed such a divine evening.I strongly recommend this restaurant, and I wish I could bring it home with me.
