Be the first to ReplyA fourth incredible trip to Mamo did not disappoint
A fourth incredible visit to Mamo did not disappoint. A special birthday meal made even more special by the astounding service and amazing food at Mamo. Cod chips, roast chicken butter with crusty sourdough, steal and the most incredible bernaise sauce I have ever had (and I’ve tried a-lot).. Staff are so knowledgable, friendly and willing to spend tile with you to ensure you pair your meal with the perfect wines. If your looking for somewhere special to eat, look no further

We spent 6 days in Dublin, Lunch at Mamo was the highlight of our stay. It is not cheap but we found it was worth the price.
Be the first to Replyoutstanding food in a classy room in a beautiful location
a treat of a meal - superb dishes well presented with exquisite flavours - the dining room is a pleasure with enough space but good number of tables and nice atmosphere and lovely views

First time at Mamó and I would highly recommend! Fabulous food, great service, lovely warm atmosphere. Great attention to detail and we could all feel the love and care that went into preparing our delicious lunch. Thank you so much- we will be back!

We had a booking at Mamo for a couple months, it was quite difficult getting availability for a Saturday evening, so we had high expectations. Sadly the food was a bit bland and lacked complex flavors you’d expect from a Michelin guide restaurant. Portions were very small and overpriced for what you get. Our favorites were the sourdough and butter served when we arrived and the nibble called “boquerones” which consisted of anchovies on toast. Mains were okay, we got the turbot and the lamb, nothing special though. For sides we got the roast potatoes - very tasty - and the courgette with yoghurt - we were very disappointed when we noticed the courgette was completely raw (not specified in the menu) and just served sliced in yoghurt sauce. The biggest disappointment to me was the dessert, which was ice cream served with meringue (that tasted a lot like marshmellow fluff) and pistachio (mind you, 3 pistachios only). Wine was okay but also overpriced. Staff were very friendly and made sure we were being looked after. We had a wonderful day in Howth but unfortunately the dinner didn’t live up to our expectations.

This is a truly outstanding restaurant. The flavours were unique and out of this world. Worthy of a Michelin Star. The attention to detail was incredible from the best bread ever, flavoured butter, lobster tortelli with a first class lobster jus the best I have ever tasted, to the monkish Wellington with oxtail to the cabbage with peanuts and rosemary crunchy potatoes. Excellent service and ambiance. This all creates a memorable dining experience better than many of the top London restaurants.

Be the first to ReplyA little treasure in Howth
Had a delicious lunch in Mamo. They’ve enlarged the restaurant recently and it’s so lovely with sparkling white linen and glassware with a backdrop of Howth harbour. The food hasn’t changed though! Still delicious! The cod with lobster orzo was just scrumptious! The owners are very hands on and so friendly and welcoming. Our lovely French waitress (I’m so sorry I don’t know her name now), was so warm and funny! We look forward to our next treat at Mamo!

Loved and reviewed Mamó in September 2019 and after all the vicissitudes of the intervening 2.1/2 years it is wonderful to report that it remains a truly exceptional experience. It has recently been extended and totally refurbished. Downstairs the sit-up bar, which had had to be forcibly abandoned, has been restored but the main restaurant is now upstairs (lift available) with glorious views of Howth seafront. The menu remains based on the careful and often ingenious use of the very finest ingredients. White fish, often available just fried elsewhere even in Howth, is one highlight, for example a darne of ultra-fresh cod with a delicious side dish of lobster with orzo. Long-standing favourites include pasta, either stuffed as in the mushroom tortelli or as the artisanal stozzapreti with various intense sauces, and perfect ceviche. But the menu is not static and the search for top produce from Irish suppliers yielded at a recent meal manganitsa (woolly pig) pork - IMO the tastiest pork ever - from a specialist rare-breeds farmer, coupled with perfectly cooked onion and leek. Wines by the glass show the same search for the interesting - my first encounter with Slovenian whites - and a quite exceptional cava. The owners are perfectionists – for service as much as for food - and this may mean that the limited covers and four day week make booking something of a problem. In my opinion it is well worth the effort.

We were delighted to find this this restaurant. While there is a simplicity to the food on offer it is prepared by a kitchen full of passion and imagination. It has a lovely ambience with attention to every detail to make your visit memorable. One of the best restaurants in the Dublin area. Bhí sé deas go raibh an gaellge a chur chun chinn.

We were trying for a long time to get a booking and were really looking forward to going when we finally did. However we were disappointed on a few levels. While the service was very good, we were seated at a round table just inside the entrance perpendicular to each other which meant that my husband was looking down the length of the restaurant at the other diners two of whom were so close we may as well have been having dinner with them. While the food was very good I was disappointed when my dessert a rice pudding was cold while this was intentional I wish I had been told beforehand and I wouldn't have ordered it. We won't be rushing back. A suggestion if the huge piece of furniture holding the computer and wine coolers was smaller this issue with the table inside the door could be solved very easily.

Had a really beautiful night here and the food was amazing. Wasn’t my first time there but can genuinely say it’s one of my favourite restaurants in Dublin.
Jess served us and Killian made the beef !
Definitely a high recommendation
Excellent!!
A visit to Mamó in Howth is highly recommended. The food was excellent, the cod chip is one of their signature small plates and it was so tasty! Also, the cote de boeuf from Higgins Butchers in Sutton was particularly good. In fact, all of the restaurant’s produce is sourced from North County Dublin suppliers, which is to be commended. The service from the staff was attentive and friendly. We’re already planning a return visit so we can try some more dishes from the menu!

We start with grazing; my choice was an ox tongue and taleggio croquette. My eyes sparkled when I saw it. Then, We tried the fresh fior di latte with fennel, orange and hazelnut, a fresh salad for a summer afternoon. For the main, we choose an aged Thornhill duck. It was incredible. The duck's sink was crispy. But, my good surprised was the wine for dessert, which I'll remember forever. Service was particular; we were receiving friendly, and who know is the best for the customer. I'll definitely come back soon.

Fantastic food. Fantastic service. Small restaurant, great atmosphere. Fine dining without the fuss. Seems to get booked up, so plan in advance.

Food was incredible. I'd recommend the Oxtail Ragu to amaze your mouth.
The service was like no other. Staff are fantastic!
They were extremely friendly and accommodating.
My sister is vegan and they went all out with beautiful food for her and even researched vegan wines to make sure she could drink them.
Overall brilliant fine dining experience.
Exceptional food in Howth
A really gorgeous lunch on a warm Friday afternoon, exquisite tastes, from delicious butter with great bread to start through to light crispy crackers with poached pear and cheese to finish. We enjoyed every morsel and the experience was made even more pleasant by the excellent but not overpowering service.

To the amazing menu and service.
We got an amazing fresh starter - surf for one and surf for him (eel and cockles) - so fresh, so good, so smelling good.
Then she took the fish and I took the lamb !
Amazing! Pink both and the wine was lovely !
So pairing with the food and tasty and service attitude :)
We will be back for sure as I want to try the ceviche :)

Superb food and service
I can 100% recommend this as one of the best restaurants that you will ever go to in terms of food and service. We had a party of 6 - staff amazing ... owner gave us an overview and description of each course on presentation ... quality was simply breath taking ... wine very good and reasonably priced .. really good and jump at the opportunity to go there

Difficult to find words to describe such a fantastic experience. Lovely staff, and extremely good food.
It was innovative, very tasty and beautifully presented. Just the right quantity as well.
Not surprisingly you need to book in advance
