Steaks and more
A famous steakhouse chain also found in some asian cities. We usually go for the tuna tower and crab cake to start. Then the lobster bisque. For mains, of course the steaks. And the christopher chicken. The chocoate cake dessert is very good. The chocolate mousse only ok

We arrived late in New York and were staying a couple of blocks away. We found this restaurant and decided to give it a go. Lovely hostess which guided us to our table. Typical steak house ambiance. We had the lobster ravioli and the bacon steak as entrée. Definitely recommend the ravioli, however the bacon steak was a little too chewy. We both had the Ribeye as main. The meat was okay, but not that tasty. For over $60 a dish, no side were offered. We had to get some French fries on the side. Waiter kept coming every 2/3 mn asking if everything was okay (felt a bit pushy for a tip). Overall, the experience was okay, however for around $150 per person, the dinner felt a little mediocre…

Great service, tasty food and friendly people. While waking around the 5th Avenue of New York we had a lunch break and had one of the best Japanese Wagyu. Perfectly cooked and served.

Unfortunately, the overall experience was not what I was not completely what I expected. There is supposedly a dress code, which we followed, but people were being let in wearing shorts and attire that was not in line with their guidelines. As well, the waiter kept calling me "boss", which I found to be disrespectful. I just felt that the restaurant didn't live up to its name/fame although the food was very good.

Had 5 o’clock reservations at Morton’s midtown Manhattan on Saturday December 10th , with my wife and 2 children, we walked in and instead of being greeted with a friendly smile , the hostess looks at me and says yeah what ? Not hello or welcome but (yeah) , then proceeds to sit us at a table directly behind the main entrance with a makeshift wall setup, worst seating possible, we had to ask to have our table moved , we did get a better table, upstairs and things seemed to get better, we ordered and it went down hill from there , I ordered a New York strip Medium rare came out well done , my daughter ordered petite filet medium well , came out rare , my other daughter had shrimp, it never came out at all had to complain about that , needless to say that I’m extremely disappointed and would never go back to a Morton’s again , what a terrible experience, you go to a restaurant like that and are paying somewhere around $400 to $500 dollars for service and food only to be disappointed 👎👎👎👎👎

We visited on our last night in NYC after a recommendation from a friend who lives in the city. The evening started badly as my girlfriend had made the reservation for the following night by mistake! The place was packed and all they could suggest was to grab a table in the bar area. They could see we were visibly frustrated with our own mistake and managed to conjure up a table without us even pushing for it. The genuine care to try and save our evening was really appreciated and showed a touch of class. This is a real locals joint and the atmosphere (despite rather loud), was buzzing. Our waitress was friendly and knowledgable and the managers are always milling around ensuring everything is ticking along nicely. The menu is amazing! Lots of things we hadn’t heard of before as Brits! The sides were amazing, baked potato was Devine and truffle fries really tasty. Asparagus the size of cucumbers were also impressive. Unfortunately both our steaks were over done but didn’t matter too much as they were still really tasty and the hospitality made up for it. The ladies on the front desk were really helpful and sympathetic to our mistake and were the catalyst for a really enjoyable evening. All the staff from front of house to servers and bar staff were really friendly.

Wow! We certainly did not look the part for this after a hot and sweaty day of walking in New York. The staff were so reassuring and welcoming. My feeling was that every person we came into contact with cared deeply about our experience - and cared for the place! What a work culture there must be a privilege for the whole staff to work together so cohesively. We thank you so much for tonight’s experience. The fillet was melt in the mouth delicious. Thank you once again each and every person who worked tonight at Morton’s.

Great location, very nice staff, very good crabcakes. Comfortable little bar area for drinks and hors d’oeuvres

Popped in with our son but only had drinks . The barman was very helpful and the drinks were excellent. The only reason I didn’t give 5 stars is because I didn’t eat there. But with the great service I’m sure the food would of been great to receive the full 5 stars . Would I go again ? Of course but next time I would eat the steak and lobster.
Be the first to ReplyNY or HK the steaks are great
Worldwide reputation for great steaks and NYC is about the best you can get. Unlike a failed visit to another “famous” steak house in Brooklyn, this is a different level

Terrible! Had a reservation for 10:00PM. Restaurant called to confirm day prior. We arrived at 10:06 to a locked door. Called restaurant and was put on hold. Called from another phone while still on hold. Manager said “Yeah, We’re closed”. Said he came out at 10:05 and didn’t see us so he closed. Staff and diners looked looked they were enjoying their experience. We were still on hold while “manager” said “ Yeah, we’re closed”. walked away deflated but found a great place next door. Words to live by “ When at Morton’s on 5Th, walk one door over!

The dinner was excellent, I like the Morton's steak house. We had a great time, I dinner with my wife. Service is excellent and the beef is great. It is a little noise, but you are in NY.
Be the first to ReplyDoes Not Welcome People of Color - Avoid!
My family and I dined here last night and was immediately scrutinized by the hostess from questioning my husband dress slacks claiming she could not tell if they were sweats (as if the two have any similarity) to viewing our legitimate vaccination cards. I kindly reminded her that we are very clear on the dress code as we are frequent eaters of the establishment in other cities. We were then placed at a table pressed up again a pillar which was not pleasant. Then to top it off our older white female server happily greeted her non-minority patrons and half heartedly serviced us. She even offered to take pictures of other guests with their phones and wished them a happy holiday while simply placing our $200 bill on the table and said "thank you." I reported this behavior to the dual managers who claimed that such would be addressed though I doubt such. We chose not to leave gratuity as a result of her behavior but instead left a note for her to treat all guests the same. Do not eat here if you are of color as this location does not believe in equal treatment for all!!
Be the first to ReplyCLASSLESS + FALSE ADVERTISEMENT= TACKY AS HELL
Made a reservation for myself and 3 other girlfriends for a Friday night to go eat here during restaurant week that’s taking place 11/01/21 - 11/14/21. I found it really disgustingly unprofessional when the restaurant called me the day of my reservation to “confirm” and tell me they will not be participating in restaurant week that weekend because they are “too busy” to accommodate “that crowd”. This left me baffled and confused because what 5 star restaurant does this? Talk about classless! Who advertises and participate in something to then turn around and be selective to which dates and times they wish to participate. Why participate at all then? It was very tacky of them and that is considered false advertisement. I feel like they should never be allowed to participate again. And what “crowd” can’t you “accommodate”? The crowd that can’t afford your regular rates so this is their only opportunity to eat at your upscale restaurant ? And then you go and snatch the opportunity you agreed to give them away? And how are you “too busy” ? What is the difference from serving them and the ones playing regular price? Is there a different method in the way you serve? Does it require more energy or time? I would really like to know because I found this to be INSANE!
