we just had lunch today around 11:30am there and the colored lady with her hair pulled up who served us couldn't afford to smile which is tolerable, but when she can feel and see that she does not like what she's doing then it becomes unforgiveable specially we had a big group and 20% tip is pretty hefty as we ate a full course with drinks and desserts. I totally understand you may have your own problems to worry about and there's bad days but when you are in the industry where service matters, you need to learn to forget what's bothering you, at least try your best to smile and give your customers the best service they deserve as there's many other choices but they came to your restaurant! The food was good though!
I love the poblano nachos and puffy carnitas tacos.
Wife loves the baracho beans, salsa & chips. Enchiladas are very good. The place is always busy so expect a little delay in service but the wait staff and bartender are always friendly. Food is consistently good whichever Lupe's we've gone to in Houston or San Antonio.

Yes, it's a chain.
Yes, there are lot's of them. Yes, it's for a good reason! Lupe is, quite simply, delicious. It's become our go-to when we are in town for Houston on business trips and it's easy to justify why. The team is friendly and helpful. The drinks are tasty and creative. The menu is expansive, but not so big that you can't choose. There is plenty of seating and the layout ensures that it's never too loud or feels too crowded. The food is flavorful and fantastic.
Great solid food.
The enchiladas were really solid. The puffy taco was only so so but the overall experience and vibe was fun. Fantastic margaritas, great fresh chips and dip and really friendly service.

Today at Lupe Tortilla located at 2414 Southwest Freeway, I was racially profiled. I sat at the bar, I ordered ice water and a Cheese Enchilada Plate. Immediately after I placed my order, bar employee Jorge asked for my credit card. No, I did not order alcohol and/or beer. I looked around at the bar and Jorge did not ask any other customers (they were all White males & females, as I was the only Black customer). As other customers begin to arrive and sat at the bar, I carefully listened to hear and see if Jorge asked any of the other all White customers for their credit card and yes they were all drinking, beers, alcohol, margaritas, etc. No, Jorge did not ask any of the other White customers for their credit card, (after they ordered food/alcohol) just I, a Black female customer. After today's experience, I will not patronize any other Lupe Tortilla restaurant, as I do not want to be racially profiled, again.

I visited the SWFrwy location on 5/10/24 and waited more than 30 minutes for a table after being told 20 minutes. I was seated only after I went to the desk twice about the wait. After placing my order, we waited another full 30 minutes to receive our meals during which time I was served some sort of bean dip rather than their once amazing salsa. My salad was to have fresh grilled shrimp however the shrimp on my salad hadn't seen a grill in much longer than 30 minutes. It was stone cold. When I asked the server if the shrimp should be warm, he said yes, let me get a manager. A most unconcerned, unprofessional guy named Blake came to that table and offered to "911 a fresh salad!" Well, another full 30 minutes passed and still no salad. I went to the front desk again and Blake (the "front of house manager") was there, lackadaisically chatting with the girls at the front desk. Not a care in the world. I asked about my "911" salad and he said he'd have someone out. A few minutes later, here comes another cold, stale salad. I immediately sent it back. I was livid. I was starving as I hadn't eaten all day. When I elected to pay $35 for a salad and a margarita, I expected it to be fresh food. I asked for the manager who never came. I once again went to the front and there he was, leaning on his elbow chatting with the front desk people. I told him I received another subpar salad and his response was "what do you want me to do? We have over 200 people in here tonight!" To which i replied, well, you could have seen to it that my fresh salad was brought to me and in a timely manner. I just wanted fresh food served without a snarky attitude! I am appalled and thoroughly disgusted. I paid for my margarita even though I didnt drink it and left still starving. There was so much wrong with every aspect of this visit, I dont even have words to adequately describe it! When I looked at Blakes name again, he told me "it's the same as it was when you looked at it before!" OH MY GOSH! YOU ABSOLUTELY HAVE TO BE KIDDING ME! Thanks, I'll pass Lupe.
honestly so upset about my recent visit to this lupe
honestly so upset about my recent visit to this lupe location! I have always loved coming to Lupe until last night when two people in my party's cars were broken into. we had just finished packing our food in togo boxes when a staff member came and asked that we check our cars as a few had been broken into. We came out to find 2/4 cars that we had there had shattered windows and things taken. While on the phone with the police and multiple of us tearful about the situation, our waitress still came out to the scene where we were all gathered to give us our checks and say the manager still wants us to pay for our meals. I cannot believe the level of disrespect they had to show all for $60 worth of food. will not be back to any Lupe Tortilla due to the awful service. They did not call police or help with any camera footage of the crime.
Lupe Tortilla may be my new favorite restaurant! I am already looking to find another one in the next city as we travel
Oh my word! I am usually not a fan of beef fajitas because the meat is tough, but their beef was so tasty and you could cut it with a fork. The flour tortillas, guacamole and salsa were also very very good. It was our first time to eat at Lupe Tortilla and I am searching for another one to visit in the next city we go through in our travels.

Your bid has been “matched” with a reservation. From the time a reservation has been located, the seller of the reservation must connect with moderator to give transfer information for reservation. If the seller;however, does NOT respond to reservation transfer, then your bid is reprocessed and returns to the first step, which is connecting your request to a reservation.
