We went on a busy Saturday night thinking we'd be in for
We went on a busy Saturday night thinking we'd be in for some sophisticated dining. How wrong we were.First off the place is very very noisy, so if you were thinking of conversation of any kind that won't be happening. The second glaring factor was how bad the service was. Our initial waitress didn't know anything about the menu when we asked questions. She seemed in a rush and annoyed and was chewing gum with her mouth open like a cow which was off putting and generally not nice. But all the staff seemed very rushed and had blank stares if you asked for anything like... serving spoons, for our dishes which we shared -as instructed by our waitress. Besides the sushi, we felt we could of just ordered our own main dishes and not needed to share. But then we might have ordered less and we were instructed to order more. Really terrible service. I wished we had asked to remove the service charge. The food itself was just OK. Not bad but not something you would expect from a famous chef like Gordon Ramsey. There wasn't anything exciting or inovative about the dishes, and it felt very much ordinary. Also the sushi wasn't that great. Its not that the menu had to be creative -though that would have helped- but even basic things like sushi lacked flavour. The clientele gave off the impression of pre club vibes and a lot of slick older men with their very young, very scantly clad girls. The couple next to us were very handsy, and then when they finally left and another couple were sat next to us it was the same scenario. No judgement here, its just that it wasn't very Mayfair and it felt like a boozy after hours party in East London, which might have been fun if I had been prepared for it.To say we couldn't wait to get out of there is an understatement. We left without having dessert of coffe. You go to a Gordon Ramsey restaurant and you feel like it will be an amazinz experience, that the food, even in the simplest dish will be a treat. Sadly that was not the case here. This dining experience was one of the worst I've had in a long time. So bad it makes me aprehensive about going to any Gordon Ramsey restaurant again.
Be the first to ReplyDirt cheap, reliable Chinese food.
I've heard that the noodle dishes are way better than the ramen and I've only ordered the noodle dishes so not necessarily looking to change my order. I generally go with the large portion and it's enough for a very hungry person or two less hungry people. I usually get the vermicelli and it's literally like £8 for a massive portion. My only complaint is that it's hard to meet the deliveroo minimum. They also have a few other noodle choices like chow mein, ho fun, and udon. I've had the udon and it's good but the vermicelli has been my favourite.I usually get a small side like the kimchi or seaweed salad and it's very tasty as well. The noodles are definitely the way to go though. It's always packaged well and my order has been very consistent. Will absolutely order again.
Be the first to ReplyI came here to the Lucky Cat for lunch on Thursday.
We were probably among the first lunch sitting which raised my expectations of service and food. While waiting for my lunch companion, I sat at the bar and ordered a perfect Rob Roy cocktail. This was a good drink - not as impressive as the Rob Roy in the Park Room at the JW Marriott Grosvenor House hotel- but still very good.Lunch: We sat down at a table and ordered a light lunch. The wait staff was appropriately attentive and professional. We ordered the Gyoza, Chicken Skewer and Egg Fried Rice. The preparation of the Egg Fried Rice was finished table-side by our server who mixed the cooked deconstructed components thoroughly before serving...to watch this happen in front of us was a nice touch. The Gyozas were prepared well, not dry or oversalted. The skewered chicken was similarly flavorful- and neither dish needed to be buried in dipping sauce to be enjoyed. The rice was light and had a nice texture - not overcooked to a mushy consistency. At the Lucky Cat the primary dining tools are chopsticks and these worked well with the dishes served. All three dished were great and I would definitely order all again. The dishes ordered were shared by two people, which meant that we had a light lunch. This is lunchtime fine dining so quality over quantity is prioritized by the restaurant. Because we were there for the first lunching sitting, it's not possible to tell how quality of food and service changes when the kitchen and waitstaff are under pressure. Given the name behind the restuarant, I would be surprised if either of these dropped off with larger crowdsThe prices are not cheap, and I assume if you're thinking of eating here you know that already. We did not try any of the other dishes so I don't have a recommendation on those.
Be the first to ReplyI don't leave reviews often but this place definitely
I don't leave reviews often but this place definitely warrants one. I've been looking forward to trying another Gordon Ramsay restaurant in London and expected a memorable experience. Well, it was memorably horrendous to say the least. I sit down near the sushi bar and within 2 minutes I was rushed into ordering by my server. When I told her I was not ready, she wasn't even gone 1 minute and she came back asking "are you ready yet?". I then order some sushi, dumplings, the seared scallops and a cocktail. At this point I'm in the restaurant 5 minutes. Barely 3 minutes within ordering a plate of sushi is slapped in front of me. About 10 minutes later the rest of the food arrives but still no sign of my cocktail. I had to prompt the server that they served my entrees without even serving my cocktail. While waiting for my cocktail I begin eating. The scallops were bland, the sauce on the scallops; horrific. The cocktail finally comes after all the food was served. Once I finish the meal I sit there for about 15 minutes waiting for them to clear my plates. While I was eating no one asked how everything was, no one came and checked on me. When they finally do I ask for a desert menu. The waiter said he recommend the cheesecake and walked away, in the next 20 minutes no one came and took my order. I finally just asked for the check, which promptly came. When the guy came and swiped my card, no "how was everything", not even a thank you. They were all simply just so rude. I expected so much more, especially from a Gordon Ramsay restaurant. Certainly, not worth the night or the 96 pounds ($109). I'm happy you don't tip in Europe because if this was in the United States I would've left no tip at all. The food is one thing, but the service was the biggest let down of the night. The absolutely terrible service is what ruined the reputation of this restaurant for me. I will not be returning ever again.
Be the first to ReplyIf you're aching for gas station quality sushi rolls for 12
If you're aching for gas station quality sushi rolls for 12 to 18 quid with equally as stupidly overpriced drinks by clueless bartenders who drop neon red shitty cherries into boulevardiers, then this is the place for you. The worst though. The ABSOLUTE WORST were the disgusting supermarket frozen section dumplings. Plain God awful. For someone who is famous for screaming at restaurant owners who take cheap shortcuts Ramsay has really outdone himself and shit the bed with this one. Awful. Would give zero stars if I could.

Some hits and some misses for this Gordan Ramsey's asian inspired restaurant. The meal started off great. The venue is beautiful, the staff friendly, the seats large and the table spacious. Our server recommended 3 plates each and we did just that leaving very full. Our first few plates were delicious although couldve used some more salt. Our monkfish and bacon skeweres were wonderfully fragant and juicy, the ceviche was a great medley of fish and fruit, and our bokchoy was perfectly crunchy and sufficiently saucy. But as our main courses hit the table it was very lackluster. The black cod was overly sweet and demanded the lime that came on the plate but was still a little too much. The szechuan beef had no spice and tasted of just butter and chili oil. They were both cooked well but not flavored to the standard we'd wanted from our celebrity chef. The portions were quite generous given the prestige of the place however. It seemed like we were tag teamed by multiple servers and the lack of coordination left us feeling forgotten between shifts. In the end my partner and I decided that this place was still good, but with our very high expectations we were left a little disappointed.
Be the first to ReplyPerfect setting, incredible food and service.
Everything you'd expect from Gordon Ramsey. Tapa style, try the salt and pepper squid and monkfish/bacon skewers!
Be the first to ReplyThe food came out very slowly.
We ordered 8 dishes. Four came out straight away and then there was 20 minutes between each other dish. It was the sort of food you want to have multiple plates, so we only had the option of eating cold food, or finishing things before the next dish came out, which was very disappointing. The grilled squid was very bad - it did not work with the sweet corn. Would not recommend this restaurant.
Be the first to ReplyStart off by saying I am only giving a star for environment.
The restaurant itself is beautiful. But I am literally writing this as I have just recovered from serious vomiting and stomach illness that came directly after eating here. Food: Pros:-The cucumber salad appetizer was fine. Cons: Everything was dripping in oil. I mean everything. -Rice: had a few bites of the rice and had to stop eating from how awful I started feeling -Shrimp toast: caked and dripping in oil. We each had two bites -ordered the fish special: came deep fried and had another two bites I was literally feeling sick from all the oil. I mean our plates were slathered in it. You could fry an entire meal on what was left on our plates. Service: good. Sweet waiter. But I can't get over the food. We ended up paying for one of the priciest meals we've had in London for something we couldn't really eat. Both left with stomach aches even from the few bites. Needless to stay i actually ended up vomiting within an hour of getting home. And it continued for about an hour followed by the other, if you know what I mean. It's the day after and I'm still trying to get better. I've never been sick like this after a meal and I can honestly say for those with sensitive digestive systems, avoid it. Still paying for it now.
Be the first to ReplyLucky cat has a lot of amazing Asian tapas.
Your can't go wrong with any, but the JFC chicken and pork belly skewers left something to go with my mind and mouth. The yuzu limencelo was a nice drink to put someone in the mood. The ambiance is stunning as you can see from my picture that I posted in the front.

Made a reservation for 5 people for a Tuesday afternoon at this upscale restaurant. Not many people inside as we were greeted immediately and given our table despite being early.Considering our group size, decided to order from the "A La Carte" menu in order to share as much as possible. Some of the items of note:Spiced Herdwick Lamb Chops (£25) - three pieces of beautifully glazed lamb chops alongside chili sauce and tofu cream. Moist interior and seared well on the outside.Salt & Pepper Prawns (£12) - a small batch of fried prawns, not oily at all and served with a strong cashew curry dip.Spicy Edamame (£6.50) - a large bowl of soybeans covered in a thick chili paste. Spicy as advertised without being overwhelming.Delica Pumpkin Tempura (£9) - hearty pumpkin that's deep fried and paired alongside a wasabi sauce. Good kick with the added wasabi and properly filling.Service here started off well then tapered off towards the end as they prepared for dinner service. Worth the visit and price-point for at least one meal.
Be the first to ReplyWell, what can I say.
It is a Gordon Ramsay Restaurant so I expected quite a lot. It would be an overreaction to say that it was bad, but it's is a lie to say that it was good. The food was exceptional but I found the service to be quit poor. Me and my mother flew to London just for this dining experience. We asked for a nice table and we were given a table right next to the stairs where a waiter almost knocked my water over. Even though a, I assume, manager was standing right next to our table, he didn't do anything after we had been waiting for our food for over an hour. None of the less the food was exceptional. I had a tiger sirloin steak and it was really delicious but quite expensive. The waiter also didn't explain the system of the restaurant to us, so we ended up quite clueless with only a half full stomach. The bill can up to be around 130£ which we expected but still we were a little bit surprised that such a small amount of food could be so expensive. The food was great but the service was really quite poor. That's why I am only giving four stars. Food wise it would be five stars.

Came here on a whim not really knowing or bearing anything about this place. We simply googled Gordon Ramsey. Decided to give it a try and boy am I glad we did. Food was amazing along with the service we received from Stephania. She asked us our likes and dislikes and made recommendations based on that. She was spot on with her recommendations. Couldn't be happier with the food and service. Great food at an affordable price. I've paid way more for lesser food in Los Angeles.

Hubby and I came here on holiday for our 7th anniversary and birthdays. This place is amazing. The atmosphere is sophisticated, the taste of the food is clean, elevated and on another level. They start with a presentation of the moist sanitary towels which is so fun to watch as it unfolds in front of you as they pour the solution (smells like coconut water,ha) onto the mini towelette. It unfolds like foam in front of you- sWe got the spicy edamame to share (sooo yummy, edamame with chili oil and garlic) I got the smoked ginger miso smoked salmon, which was to DIE for... it is perfectly cooked- has a balance of the miso flavour, savory and smoked seared filet which melts in your mouth. Even my husband (who by the way, does NOT eat salmon ever- for anything) finished what I could not and loved it!There is, aside from the regular a la cart menu, three various courses at three levels of pricing that you can choose from: £36,£65,£90 (per person) my hubby got the £36. At £36, you pick and select a dish from each course- appetizer, main entree and desert. The higher level courses,£65 and £90, you get everything on the menu. He loved it. He got the hiramasa, wasabi and green apple, bavette weeping tiger, Dorayaki jaffa ganache. We were blown away. Definitely a highlight for us, and a return trip hopefully again sometime in the near future.
Be the first to ReplyThe last night we were in London and we are so disappointed
The last night we were in London and we are so disappointed by this restaurant's lack of customer service. We have dined at other Gordon Ramsey restaurants, and by far this has been the worst when it comes to customer service. We were met and seated by the hostess, who asked us what type of water we wanted. 10-15 minutes later someone came by and poured us water. No one even acknowledged us or looked our way, even though there was about 5 waitresses with about 20 customers present. Once we received our food, the next time we were acknowledged was when we were done eating. One gentleman asked if I didn't care for my food (pork chop) as I had a pile of fat sitting on my plate. The food was good, but not great. My drink was delicious, but my husband's drink was ok. When we asked for the check, there was, once again, no customer service and we were spoken to with attitude because we didn't enjoy our experience there. Come to find out the waitress who was helping us left for the night and she wasn't even our waitress. So who was our waitress?!?
Be the first to ReplyGood food.
Good drinks. Terrible service. I normally would not write a review but my wife and I had such an unpleasant experience. It was 10-15 after we were seated before a waitress come to bring us the water we asked for when we sat and we had to practically beg her to take our order as well since apparently she was not even our waitress. Needless to say, it was downhill from there. We were hardly checked on. Our water glasses remained empty and no one seemed to care that we were still there. Even better, they automatically applied an "optional service fee" and when I asked not to have it included, I was met with questions and attitude. Our last night in London and we ended on a miserable note. For the price, I would avoid this place at all costs.

Being big fans of Gordon Ramsay and of Asian cuisine, we were very excited when we found out about the opening of this restaurant. After traveling across the pond, we can definitely say that it was worth the wait! The dining hall has a chic, modern look, and was clean and inviting. All of the food ordered was top notch. Everything we ordered was deliciousOur favorite dishes were the short rib bao, the eggplant miso, and the tuna tataki. The drink selection was refreshing as well. We must give a big compliment to the staff. Everyone was knowledgeable, friendly, and answered all our questions. One member of our party had an allergy and they did a great job helping us order allergen-safe dishes. This place is great for any fans of Gordon Ramsay as well as Asian cuisine. Highly recommend and can't wait to go back!
Be the first to ReplyDinner on our last day in London was at this place.
No wait for sitting with my party of two because we made reservations prior. I gave it 5 stars from my 5 star rating: decoration/cleanliness, plate decor/presentation, service, food taste, and whether it's worth the journey to make it here or simply a detour. The place was clean and it had Asian themed decor. The setting was very intimate with live music. Service was good and prompt and food taste was phenomenal. Only plate we didn't like was the yum baba desert. It tasted like a cooked lemon to us Every single plate, despite small was amazing. This is definitely worth the journey from wherever you are in London!! Make sure you come once in your life!
