LondonHouse Chicago, Curio Collection by Hilton Reviews from The Last Year
Location location location
This is a great option for a stay in Chicago. The location is absolutely brilliant, with the best Chicago view if you’re in a river front room. It’s within easy walk of Magnficient Mile, Art Institute, theatres etc. Museum campus is walkable or a short drive away. There are plenty of dining and bar options in the hotel and even more within a short walk or cab ride. The reception staff are friendly and efficient, and were kind enough to move me to a higher floor on request which made the view even better! The room was comfortable and fairly spacious (though could do with more storage), and the bathroom was big and well stocked. Loved the Malin & Goetz toiletries. The only minor drawback is bathroom door, which is a case of design over function. Nobody needs a glass siding door that doesn’t close fully between a bedroom and a bathroom!!
Pleasant stay with few negative things
Room was very nice river view. The staff who helped me check in was very nice and friendly. the light fixtures in the room had full of dust and the safe was low battery so I asked them to change the battery but they never came to fix so I had to carry my passports all day everyday. The restaurant in main floor breakfast, I asked them not to give me any potato nor biscuits it instead give me 2 extra eggs. I checked the price on the potato and biscuits, they were same amount of exacta eggs but the server told me I have to pay extra for eggs although I didn’t get any potato nor biscuit which wasn’t too nice. My husband ordered avocado Benedict, avocado was from paste and mix with mayo so it was sour and awful. Other than that, it was a pleasant stay and had a wonderful quick getaway.
Amazing hotel!
We had a fabulous stay at LondonHouse to celebrate our anniversary! Neil (front desk) made it extra special by ensuing we checked in early and getting us a great view. (Thank you Neil!!!) This is a fabulous hotel and we can’t wait to stay again!
Worth it!
The location is perfect. The rooms are extremely clean and the daily cleaning is top notch! The staff are friendly. Mark Z at the front was outstanding and elevated the experience by being so thoughtful and helped with any issues. I do highly recommend this hotel.
Stay here every time...
This hotel is the most! Shams got me checked in and made the process super simple! I was here for work but I'll be back for a personal stay. The bed was super comfortable. I usually never sleep well my first night in a hotel, but I slept like a baby! The noise was softened by the thick windows and the lights from outside gave the room a little light at nigjt. Very clean! Kind room service staff. I'll be back.
With the exception of one bad experience it was a marvelous stay
Location is Marvelous!!!! Our room was upgraded by the wonderful Niel who gave us a warm welcome. The view from our room was phenomenal 10/10. Customer service at both the front desk and lobby bar were exceptional. My one downside and the reason why I can't give a full 5 star rating is the bartender on the rooftop bar. Drink was subpar and underserved. Bartender was not polite and looked at me like an alien when I asked him to salt the rim of my drink. I thought the highlight would be the rooftop and it wasn't. Way too crowded and rude customer service
Great experience overall - 4/7-8/24
My wife and I stayed at the hotel for a night on April 7, 2024. It was a great experience overall. Ashley at the front desk did a great job for us. She got us checked in early which let us rest up a short while before we attended Catholic Mass. She also texted after check in to see how things were in the room. The room was on the 10th floor and had a nice view of the river and buildings on the other side. The amenities in the room were also very nice. We had meals at the hotel also. The restaurant on the 21st floor was disappointing mostly because of the ambience. We were able to go out on the 22nd floor terrace which has a fantastic view but it had rained so not able to sit for a meal. Would be a great atmosphere when the weather is good. We had dinner at Ocean Prime on the 2nd floor and it was fantastic. We had a table at a window with view of the river and activity going on outside. Loved it and was a great experience for my wife on her birthday.
Outstanding Stay
This is truly an outstanding hotel in every way. The location, right in the centre of the city, is absolutely perfect for exploring all that Chicago has to offer. As soon as we arrived, we were made to feel so welcome and check in was seamless. The staff at this hotel are so professional and so friendly, a huge credit. Our corner suite was located on the 14 floor with absolutely outstanding views from both sides of the room. This type of room gives you so much space and light and has a really lovely sitting area. The bed was so comfy and the shower was excellent. I can also recommend the top floor restaurant too, we had a delightful meal up there and the cocktails were amazing. The views from up there are unbelievable too. If you are considering staying at Londonhouse, don’t think twice about it… you will not regret it.
Business Trip
Such a great place to stay in Chicago. The staff at the London House is exceptional accommodating every detail. The rooms are extremely comfortable and the view of the river is nostalgic. Thank you Neil for your hospitality and making this experience memorable.

I've had High Tea for 50 years all over the world and everywhere in Chicago. Tea at The London House was the most superb experience ever! The savory choices are superior to any tea sandwich choices I've ever had and the presentation was beautifully creative. Especially the children's menu. Treat yourself to the tastiest tea service ever!
Been visiting the lobby bar on St Patty's for the last 2
Been visiting the lobby bar on St Patty's for the last 2 consecutive years. They do a special drinks menu for st patty's and drinks have been great both times I visited! It's not too crowded despite the craziness all around and is perfect t to sit and relax with your crew while enjoying the food!
To be specific this review is particularly pertaining to
To be specific this review is particularly pertaining to the rooftop Resturant portion of this establishment which honestly I don't know where to start...... The scenery was a bit basic, no windows to view anything, I mean this is a rooftop but I guess that means the actual rooftop because the Resturant looks like an apartment with tables. To be specific, the rooftop is separate from the Resturant in which you have to take a flight of stairs or elevator to reach. Not mad at that, this establishment was developed way before rooftops were a thing , so I understand. The wait staff was quite attentive but I made reservations for a birthday celebration and nothing was done to accommodate that like other restaurants I have attended when prompted "it's a celebration beaches!". The food was fresh, I guess, but it must have been waiting for a minute cause each item was a bit cold. Which was crazy because the food did come quick. Last but not least I ordered what they called a "caramel apple cheese cake " but it seemed to be meatballs in soy sauce. I can say it's my fault because we ordered it to go, and when we got home it was like the picture we loaded below, please review, that's just how we received it. I don't know folks, I guess if your stuck in that hotel, and you have no choice but why, I repeat , why would you ever fight through traffic or pay parking rates to get a over priced meal in a boarded loft, which is how it felt. I actually was overlooked everything except for the dessert because it was a birthday in which I believe they never even read the notes, understood. But what the fudge is a caramel apple cheese cake that looks like what we got????? How sway? How? I take it was a Carmel cheese cake in the shape of an apple but appear like balls to put in my mouth. No! Never! Thanks.
Kind and welcoming!
Really comprehensive check in and beautiful space! Shams was super kind and so welcoming. We felt really excited for our stay in Chicago! The doorman is very kind as well and helped us easily find the lobby. The lobby is beautiful! Thank you so much LondonHouse - would stay again!
Best hotel only surpassed by superb staff
Such gratitude to Andrea @check-in for taking a miscue and smoothly managing the situation. Hotel staff operated with efficiency under peak demands of St.P.D. Marcus and Ken appreciated my cordial feedback and upgraded us to spectacular room. An extra bit of hotel class was waiting when we arrived. Best hotel!!!
Beautiful view. Awful service
We were at the London house from March 14-17 for the dyeing of the river for St.Patrick's day. The view from this hotel is perfect. We planned to watch the dying of the river from our room with family that lived in Chicago. The service at this hotel is awful. We called room service to ask if they could bring up a champagne bucket filled with ice when they picked up the breakfast room service dishes from our room. They said they would. We sat the dishes outside the hallway as instructed, but never received the ice bucket full of ice. After about a hour and a half wait, we called again. They had picked up the room service dishes, but never brought up the champagne bucket of ice. When we called again, They just flat out refused to do it because they were too busy. We have never stayed in a hotel that refused service to their guest. This is just on example of the bad service we received. After paying almost $800 a night to stay in a room and being refuse a simple service, I would never stay at this hotel again.
Excellent Customer Service
Excellent customer service provided at the front desk by Maeve! She is a very good example of how guests should be greeted and treated! Hope she gets the recognition she deserves! Very pleasant and engaging and really got our 5-night stay off to a great start.
Great hotel with beautiful rooms and great service!
I had an amazing experience at LondonHouse Chicago! Everyone was so nice and accommodating! It began with a great check in with Shams who was so welcoming and an amazing server, Gwen who went above and beyond! It was clean, beautiful and such a great location in the city!
Very comfortable stay
Very comfortable stay. Nice, clean and quiet room. Robes and slippers to use. Comfortable bed and pillows. Nice work space and guest chair in my room. Decent size bathroom. Nice toiletries including a loofa. Friendly staff right from the time I walked in the front door. Nice front desk and housekeeping team as well. Coffee in the room. Great stay!
London house Chicago
We went for family vacations on march. Shams in the front desk was an excellent person and treated us very well. Our stay was great we enjoy the hotel very much. Also it was vey well located we arrive walking to a lot of places nearby. We recommend this hotel you will no regret it.
Neil and Ricky Rock!
Ricky and Neil did an amazing job at check in. Neil did my check in but the computer logged him off when finalizing my check in but Ricky promptly to help finalize everything!! Seamless check in and all my questions were answered prior to getting in the room. Overall, I love staying at London House! The rooms are clean and the views never disappoints.
Perfect view of the city
London House is in a terrific location. Marcus A was wonderful at check in getting us an upgraded room with a great view. The bed is extremely comfortable and the room is very clean. The lobby bar area which serves delicious drinks and food was fun.
Love rooftop cocktails here when the weather is nice.
Iconic views and great atmosphere, not to mention attentive staff and quality drinks.
Be sure to add the London House experience when visiting
Be sure to add the London House experience when visiting Chi town! Starting with high tea and the excellent views of Downtown Chicago on their rooftop will not disappoint! Definitely stop for a drink and dessert at their hotel bar!
Location - amazing.
Close to the parks, you can walk to the museums if you'd like, about 2 miles or 45 min walk. Also close to Fulton Market, only a 1.2 mile or 25 min walk. There's a Walgreens super close by and it's just a 5 minute walk from the Wendella stop for the architecture boat tours. Service - housekeeping comes by every morning around 9-10 am. They are friendly, helpful and very nice. Upon check in we were informed that we can have river side views for only an additional $50 a night, only worth it if you like views. The rooftop views were nice. There's plastic igloos spaces right rent out for something more "private". There's a fire pit outside to warm up. You can grab a drink a downstairs from the restaurant. The ceilings are quite high, the lights dim in the room. The hot water comes out immediately, the water pressure is decent. There's a large mirror in the bathroom, great to checking your outfit before you leave. Our closet had two plush robes and slippers to use if you'd like. Overall great place to stay. Centrally located and decently priced.
Beautiful room, comfortable bed amazing breakfast in the
Beautiful room, comfortable bed amazing breakfast in the morning at the city view room of the River. Customer service was amazing. The room was immaculately clean and exceptionally comfortable. The maid service was outstanding; returning to a freshly made bed and new towels was a delightful surprise. The only minor inconvenience was that the thermostat was cleverly camouflaged within the wallpaper, which took some time to locate.
This is a review purely for the lobby holiday high tea
This is a review purely for the lobby holiday high tea experience. This is my first visit to London house ever and upon walking in on the ground floor it is not very clear where you need to go. However, if you turn left and go to the bank of elevators is a dent tells you what floor to go to. I made reservations well in advance for this event, and when we got there although early, they were ready for us. The food and the sweets are super delicious and the tea menu was a great variety. It did not disappoint. It did take a while for the food to come out and perhaps because it's being freshly made as my assumption it was tasty overall Considering the competitors in the downtown Chicago market for holiday high tea it was definitely fairly priced and the service was very friendly and were not rushing us at all. I would definitely consider this holiday next year again and hope they offer it.
My room had a beautiful view.
The check in process was nice and easy. The bar stayed populated throughout my stay. My room even had fresh white robes.
Beautiful lobby, room, and view.
Location could not have been more perfect- just steps from every shop on Michigan Ave. Bed was comfortable and employees were lovely. We had the best weekend staying here and will absolutely be back.
Favorite hotel to stay in Chicago near the river.
Friendly staff and great view from the room.
One of the best hotels I have ever stayed at.
Very nice rooms with great views. People that work here are always very friendly and helpful. The ambience of the whole hotel is always awesome too.
Beautiful holiday decor.
Busy at the bar below but got good service on weekdays. Long time neighbor and still love the views.

Prepaid Reservation Fee

When you sell a reservation that has a prepaid fee AT takes a commission on that fee. This doesn’t really make sense because it’s an expense the seller incurs not part of the profit that is shared.
For example:
Carbone NYC fee to book table for 2 is $108.88
If you sell it for $200 on AT you get $140 from them.
Your net profit is $31 and AT collects $60 in fees.
It would make more sense not to charge commission on the upfront fee as this creates a disincentive and results in higher costs for buyers.

Agreed. Ultimately not addressing this month after month is clearly resulting in a drop in certain venue’s rankings & sales.
