Super tasty, vegan and modern
Super tasty, beautifully presented, vegan options and really not too expensive. I'm delighted. The atmosphere of a fast-food restaurant makes it young, modern and not too pretentious despite the top quality.
Be the first to ReplyWorth the Michelin distinction
A nitty gritty restaurant that employs high quality ingredients, prepares everything at the moment and makes almost everything in house (including tacos and tortillas). What else can I say: come here and you will eat excellent and healthy food.

Famous for their fish taco, beating out Bobby Flay. Establishment has earned Michelin recognition in 2019, 2021, 2922 and 2023. Oaxaca inspired food. Spunky Noel took our requests. We enjoyed three tacos types: - fish - battered over a light cream sauce - carnitas - succulent fatty just nicely cooked pork with pickled tomatillo slices atop - mesquite chicken - delicately roasted chicken Not to forget a plate of 3 quesadillas with a magnificent morita sauce (dark and rich) And chipotle rice. Tortillas are fresh, made on the premises (albeit machine made). Beer selection was limited to 3 on draft. Interesting mix of clientele. Clean and well lit place. Will definitely seek out on next visit.

Stopped in on a Tuesday evening and the crowd was small, but you could tell there were local regulars that was a good sign. I had the steak, pork belly, and the Baja fish tacos and they were spectacular. The service was friendly and attentive. Even though the place was not busy, it seemed to take a little more than average for the length of time for 3 tacos. I could see it taking a very long time if this place was busy. The beer selection was small but good, with some good local beers on tap.

This gem of a place is worth a visit. The tacos are delicious; each is unique. I assure you the taste is not generic. Savory, pleasing to the eye, and best of all, budget-friendly. We will undoubtedly dine here again when we're in town!
Be the first to ReplyWorth the wait- which was long
Took away a star because of the wait. Ordered online to pick up and the scheduled weight was 35 to 40 minutes, but when I arrived on time and waited online for a very busy bartender, she found that the kitchen had not even gotten to my order yet, so it was going to be another 15 minutes. It was Mother’s Day, and they were obviously shortstaffed. Other than that, the food was prepared with precision and delicious. Worth waiting for. I got the steak taco, Baja style, fish, taco, and the pork belly Al Pastor. The restaurant environment was pleasant and everyone looked happy. Watched the bartender make a few drinks and those looked good too.

Yummy nummy in my Tummy. There’s a reason this place gets five stars. The food is excellent. I got the fish taco, pork, belly, taco, beans, and rice. I highly suggest all of them. If I could only order two and be the fish taco and the beans.

delicious. Amazing. Wonderful. The food is so good. Every taco they make is delicious. It’s insane. They have never produced a bad dish in my experience. I go there again and again and it has never failed me and I doubt it ever will. The Caesar salad is plentiful and tender. The croutons are to die for. The drinks are great. It’s accessible by car and public transportation. They have great stuff for non-meat-eaters and meat eaters alike. Lola 55 is a must-go if you’re looking for great higher-end modern Mexican food.

I have never been to a restaurant e we here I ordered, ate my food, then ordered more food! So good! I highly recommend! If we visit San Diego again this will be a stop! They have several vegan options too!
Be the first to ReplyDelicious and modernly presented tacos.
Recently I visited this restaurant in the early evening for some delicious food. Staff was nice during my short stay. I ordered vegetarian tacos with various fillings. I came to this place, because it‘s named in the Guide Michelin and I would return. I‘d only wish, that they would offer more different veggie tacos, but this is just my personal opinion.

Went on a Thursday during lunch. Street parking was relatively easy. Got the Steak Taco, Baja Style Fish Taco, Mindful Mushroom Taco, Pork Belly Al Pastor Taco, and the Quesadillas Oaxaca.
I really enjoyed the Fish Taco, really great, one of the best I've had. The mushroom taco was just okay. The mushroom was a bit charred which unfortunately masks the flavor with bitterness a bit. The steak and pork belly tacos were ok. Didn't really like the quesadillas.
Not your Mama's tacos
Loved everything about this place inside and out. Order at the bar and it will be brought to your table. I was there for happy hour and got a Calidad Mexican Lager for $4 and the Squash Blossom Relleno Taco and the Rainbow Cauliflower Taco for $3.95 each. Love the creativity and both were delicious. Just a very chill vibe with a variety of casual seating options. The tables outside had dozens of air plants hanging high overhead. Quiet East Village location just a block off Park Blvd.

Superb tacos. LOVE it. My son lives in the building above the restaurant; it is not fair to waft all those delicious smells throughout his building!! Good bar, too.

Love this place. One of my top tacos for San Diego I was researching gluten free places for a visitor and discovered it. I’m an immediate convert. The smoked port Tacos are an amazing mixture of smokiness contrasted by a yummy tart sauce. I especially love the stuffed squash blossom relent. I’m also very glad they moved the Oaxacan quesadilla from a special to the regular menu. .
Be sure and check out the Aguas Frescas selection
A glorious explosion of flavor!
My boyfriend and I ordered the following tacos: squash, stake (filet mignon) and fish. They were all spectacular. We also got the rice and the quesadilla both of which were incredibly delicious. The happy hour is also great especially coming from NYC where margaritas are like $15 or more. Here they are 5!
Be the first to ReplyBest tacos!!!
We went here for lunch and had the best tacos of the entire trip in San Diego, the flavours were incredible and everything was so fresh! It was a really nice and open space too with outside and inside seating. Highly recommend!!!
Be the first to ReplyCreative and mind bendingly delicious!
These were probably the most delicious and definitely the most interesting tacos I've ever tried. I love tacos and have sampled them in almost every city where there is good Mexican food (including Mexico). Their ingredients were super fresh and the flavor combinations were insanely good. Explosion of flavor for every tastebud. The only thing I would suggest is that given the decently high price, they switch to organic meats / poultry / fish and corn. Would also love to see organic blue corn tortillas as options.
This is one of the best meals we had in San Diego. I wish they'd open locations in the California East Bay Area!!!
Good food, nice vibe
Food here was good, we enjoyed the outdoor seating area. Tacos were all good. Quesadillas were a bit heavy, we preferred the tacos. Churros were ok, they had some kind of an herb or something that gave them a different flavor, that some people might enjoy, but we prefer a more traditional churro.

Fast service, great atmosphere, DELICIOUS food AND margaritas!! Highlight of our trip. Chief Drew was especially kind and friendly. I hope I have the privilege of enjoying another bite in the future.
