Lola 41 Nantucket Reviews from The Last Year
Oh man this place has gone downhill the last year or two.
We sat outside in the tented terrace, which was fine, not too loud, space heaters blowing. There definitely needed to be more than one waitress out there though. It took about 10 minutes for someone to come to our table to order cocktails, then another 10 minutes to get them, then another 10-15 minutes to order our food. It was slowwww. The sushi is fine, but there are so many other better sushi spots on island now, that it isn't a draw to come here for that. The korean beef bulgogi (which I have had a few times in the past) has tender beef, but the dish is SO FREAKING SPICY (moreso than I remembered) and it just overpowers the dish so much that you can't even enjoy the other flavors. There was also an insane amount of sauce coating the lo mein noodles. I could have poured a cup full of liquid out of the bottom of the dish. And hardly any broccoli in there to be seen. Felt like they took one broccoli floret and just chopped it up. Overall- Not worth it. There are much better restaurants on island worth your time and money.
I heard this is one of the best places on Nantucket and I
I heard this is one of the best places on Nantucket and I was a little disappointed. We sat outside and a lot more could have been done to the space to add to the ambiance. The service was phenomenal. The food was okay, I had better sushi while visiting cape cod. The Salmon Lo Main was very very good. I would definitely recommend that dish. Overall, I'm not sure I would come back but it was good just not great.
Had a reservation for dinner here.
Had no problem getting a table, as it was the last weekend before the season. The ambiance was nice and on the dark side inside that forced the use of the candlelight at the tables. Ended up with a really nice server. No issues with her at all, but the food was a let down. We had ordered the chicken lettuce cups, but they never came. I don't attribute this to our server, but at the end of the day, the entrees had enough food to not need this. We ended up getting the grilled salmon lo mein (water chestnuts, snoew peas, broccoli, carrot, bell pepper and sorrel) and the lola burger (cabot cheddar, red onion compote, foie gras sauce on an english muffin). The burger did come with thick shoestring fries. Food was a little bit of a let down. The grilled salmon itself was pretty good but the lo mein was just okay. Not overly flavorful and unrememberable. The burger was also just okay. The fries were not good. Half soggy and way too salty. We did let the server know about the missing lettuce cups and she took care of it no problem. Very disappointing for a high-end restaurant. This was the least-liked food of the trip.
Had such a great experience, returned the next night.
Started here with apps and drinks. The drink menu was eclectic and ran from sweat to savory. I would recommend anything with a chili lime rim, just fantastic. The apps were ridiculous. Bay scallops credo, the braised ribs, and we have talked about the truffle fries for days after. The Aphrodite cocktail was good enough for a walk back the next night. Unfortunately we couldn't make dinner work for us this trip, but the locals know that reservations are usually only available same day, so call early and often. If you catch a break and they unexpectedly open early, don't pass up the opportunity at any time of day.
Recently had dinner at LoLa 41.
They must be running out of ingredients. The spring garden salad had 4 tiny bits of asparagus, no English peas, no blood orange and no grapefruit segments. The Korean beef bulgogi was over spaghetti, not egg noodles, the Chinese broccoli consisted of several small pieces of the stalks. Not certain if there was any fried garlic in the dish. Will NOT return.
Fantastic! Service 5Tuna was our go to and was top notch.
Can't say enough great things about our server she was incredible. Our corner tent table was very romantic Highly recommend

Prepaid Reservation Fee

When you sell a reservation that has a prepaid fee AT takes a commission on that fee. This doesn’t really make sense because it’s an expense the seller incurs not part of the profit that is shared.
For example:
Carbone NYC fee to book table for 2 is $108.88
If you sell it for $200 on AT you get $140 from them.
Your net profit is $31 and AT collects $60 in fees.
It would make more sense not to charge commission on the upfront fee as this creates a disincentive and results in higher costs for buyers.

Agreed. Ultimately not addressing this month after month is clearly resulting in a drop in certain venue’s rankings & sales.
