Llama Inn Reviews from The Last Year
If I had to sum up Llama Inn, it'd be: trying too hard to
If I had to sum up Llama Inn, it'd be: trying too hard to be hip and not worth the price tag. While the food at Llama Inn wasn't bad, it was definitely not worth the $100 for the lomo saltado nor the $50 for the Maine lobster. I also didn't like that the server tried to get us to order more by saying that she thought we didn't order enough for 4 people and that they preferred to put in all orders at once. Almost as if trying to prey on any anxiety and goad us into adding more. (FYI - the amount we ordered was just fine for 4 and we weren't hungry after, but if we had ended up hungry, we also thought it'd be better to stop for good pizza nearby given how much the food was compared to the portion sizes.) Drinks were also just okay to me - I think if they're trying to do "hip" drinks right with an Asian influence, they should take notes from Breeze, a Szechuan restaurant in Greenpoint. Gulf shrimp with parmesan: this was good, but not memorable. It was arguably a bit dry as well Lamb sausage: comes with 2 pieces; also good but not memorable. If you're looking for quality lamb, look elsewhere. The lamb was definitely shareable between four people (it's basically two mini lamb hotdogs), but they tried to convince us for 3 minutes to order an extra order so each of us could have our own hot dog even though two of us are not the biggest lamb fans. As they were walking away, we had to clarify a final time to make it clear we only wanted one order Crispy squid ceviche: a "modern" take on Peruvian food as the squid came fried. I think this one was actually yummy, albeit a bit sour, but there was a healthy number of calamari and I thought this was reasonably priced for what I was getting. To be honest though, I'd recommend the Inkan's (another similarly rated Peruvian restaurant) ceviche over this one Maine lobster: this was a new item on the menu. Was cooked with Asian influences, and I think was probably the group's favorite dish of the night. Not worth $50 though, as you can buy a similar tasting dish at other Asian restaurants without the hefty price tag. Think Red Sorghum (in LIC) or any number of Chinese restaurants in Manhattan Lomo saltado: I cannot believe they charge $100 for this. There were maybe 6-8 pieces of beef or so at the bottom. Some of the pancakes were burnt and inedible. Our group laughed that it's sad the best part of the meal might have been the rice, which was basically just rice that had been buttered (was pretty good but who can go wrong with buttered rice?). The guac notes also did not taste well with the tamari or other soy sauce flavors of the dish. The fries were great and perfectly crispy, but why am I paying $100 for a dish that's majority fries...? If you're looking for someplace that actually does lomo saltado well and is reasonably priced for the amount of food you're getting, try Jora Tldr: I probably wouldn't come here again. I'm not quite sure they've nailed the Peruvian and Asian fusion quite right, and I think there are a lot of other restaurants that do Peruvian food and Asian influenced food better for higher quality and a much more reasonable price point

We opted for the Trust the Chef ($80 per person) which came with 9 dishes for us to try. Food was good, however, one dish was the prawn and they definitely could have at least given 2 prawns instead of just 1 little prawn for 3 people to share. For drinks, we got the La Santa and Llama Del Rey and they were both good. Service from the bussers was attentive like refilling water and clearing the table. The waiter who took our order was just okay.
The low rating is due to the absolutely ridiculous service.
I was there for lunch on Sunday July 14, party of 7 for a birthday celebration. We were seated and the brunch menu was on the table. 15 minutes later, nobody showed up to say they are our waiter and ask for drinks order. We flagged down the hostess who willingly took our order. The drinks arrived about 10 minutes later but the person delivering them said he is not the waiter. 5 minutes later a waitress showed up and took our orders. Another 15 minutes for appetizers to arrive. We wanted extra pita bread for the hummus dish. Had to flag down the hostess again because the waitress was MIA. Another 10 minutes for the pita bread to arrive. Basically one pita bread cut into 4 pieces for which we were charged $5 (!) Another 30-35 minutes for the main course to arrive and NOT ONCE did the waitress come back to see if we wanted more drinks or if all was ok. The food was good but quite overpriced. I would not return because of poor service and overpriced.
Great food.
Got the snow peas, roasted beet salad, pork collar, and flan. The snow peas was pretty unique, I felt like the beet salad wasn't anything special but still good, the pork collar was great because it wasn't a super fatty piece of meat which is what I prefer. The dessert was a flan with some kind of mint sauce on top. It wasn't too sweet and pretty refreshing. Definitely recommend it. Service was pretty slow. Also had to wait a while between the snow peas app and mains.
Well you can never go wrong with Peruvian food and this
Well you can never go wrong with Peruvian food and this place did pay a good homage.... so if you're in the mood and in the area or have a date, I would highly recommend. Given that Peruvian food on its own is just incredibly delicious and my opinion some of the best cuisine you can get, even if done OK I was expecting a little more from this restaurant ... When you're putting fusion next to the original, the fusion version better blow me out of the water and that's not really what I got. it was essentially Peruvian food with a twist, if that makes any sense . We had initially started with the lamb sausage (6/10) which was delicious however I expected a little more of a different experience than what I got . It kind of tasted like a hotdog....nothing to crazy or different . The crispy calamari ceviche(7/10) was something I've never had before but I would not order it again since the flavors were the same of a regular ceviche just with more texture due to the fried battered calamari(Yass girl give us nothing vibe). I'd rather stick to the original version of ceviche. The play with textures on this dish was nice but I'm sorry it did not WOW me. I also ordered the pork shoulder(9/10) which had an amazing charr and I truly appreciated how well it was executed. I was told this dish was inspired by escabeche which considering this I feel like this one is one of the best dishes that you order here and say oh wow this is Peruvian fusion. One of my favorite things about this location is the rooftop, it's nicely decorated with a vast amount of plants that I think is the best setting for summer night dinner ( yes one whole star has been allocated on here because of that rooftop)

I'm sorry, but this place is overpriced, even by NYC standards. They don't post a sample menu on their website, so I had no idea what to expect. Granted, most of the dishes were unusual, visually appealing and tasty. But I would not have gone if I had known that the prices were SO high for tiny amounts of food. We left hungry.
The food was amazing.
The cuisine is asian inspired Peruvian. I had the jalapeños tequeños and lamb sausage. Both were amazing. I highly recommend the lamb sausage. I had their vegetarian ceviche and it was quite good, but a little too sour. But still quite enjoyable. The service was great. The staff is very knowledgeable. They make sure you are taken care of. The ambiance is great. It's classy and good for a date night. There are Peruvian accents all around.
I arrived and sat at the bar, then ordered four dishes.
The food was decent, the atmosphere was great, and the rooftop was a delightful oasis. One thing I would suggest for improvement is the delivery time of the food. I had to wait 20 minutes for a beet salad, and I think they may have forgotten about it until I mentioned it to my waiter. Overall, it was an okay experience.
Cool ambiance.
Came here for dinner and drinks with friends. We shared the lomo saltado which was sooooooo salty we couldn't finish it.

No issues with reservations! We chose to sit at the bar on the rooftop! Service was excellent. Reviews said portions were small for the price but we split an appetizer and main course and didn't leave hungry! Drinks were excellent as well!
Nice for lunch
Really nice atmosphere for meeting with friends, loved the Japanese pancakes. Loved the aesthetic of the restaurant.

While trying to get into this restaurant is annoying, the flavors are incredible and the ambience is very chic. The service was pretty good, nothing to really write about, which consisted of over-the-top Brooklyn hipster types which you can interpret any way you'd like. The space is very cool but very tight. Felt very cramped but that's also what's to be expected. We really enjoyed the quinoa salad with banana. The flavors mingled in an exceptionally pleasant way. The branzino was also amazingly delicious. We had some other fishy things as apps that were good. Beef Tenderloin Stir was just okay. Too many fries, kinda soggy. We had cocktails at the bar first which were lovely and wine at the table. Overall, worth the wait.

Peruvian restaurant with heavy Asian influences done in a strange way. +scallop: fresh scallops in a very very spicy sauce and very spicy candied ginger. Hard dish to eat +pig tails: the soy flavored sauce felt really off. Like, the flavors were sweet but not a good kind. I also didn't enjoy the consistency of the sauce. Wish it had been stickier. +mackerel: nice fish with good sauce. I love corn flavored things. Strongly disliked the cheese on the side but I think that just might be me being unfamiliar with this type of flavor +pork collar: our favorite of the night. Pork was flavored and cooked perfectly. Very tender. Sauce was underwhelming though and I didn't love the onion with the sweet potato

Went for dinner and was immediately seated at their bar area where you are able to watch them prep the food. A great experience! Good ambiance and music and not too loud so conversation flowed great. The scallop ceviche is a must!
It's nice to see a restaurant back at the top of its game.
It's a gorgeous interior, the Lomo is maybe the most delectable thing in North Brooklyn, their apps are all good too. Don't skip those mushroom skewers. I really liked their new martini, and I thought even their service was more on point and focused than I've ever seen it. Five stars, so grateful it's here, still not quite interested in returning for brunch though.
Absolutely wonderful place for dinner when in the big apple.
Located in Williamsburg in Brooklyn. You enter the doors and are greeted by the moody low lighting, aromas of excellent food, and good vibing music. The hostess was friendly and accommodating. I recommend having a reservation when coming to this place as it is a smaller restaurant. The table ahead of us was taking a little longer to wrap up so we were offered bar seating until the table was ready. I ordered a cariñito and highly recommend. I came here with 3 friends. We ordered 2 dishes from the top section- the beef heart and trumpet. They came on 2 skewers each. That is enough to share a skewer with one another person. They were both flavored wonderfully. The beef heart was a bit salty but I like that. Then we got one dish from the ceviche. We got the tuna ceviche. The tuna was so tender and flavored to perfection. It is a small plate so enough for everyone to have a bite or so- but it is a lump piece of tuna. For the third section on the menu we got two items- Japanese eggplant and a fish and corn dish. Also amazing. The Japanese dish was a tad larger which was nice. Lastly and most importantly- the Lomo Saltado. This is a must get. It is $100 but it is worth it. It is a large portion of food. It comes with potato pancakes that are heavenly and piping hot on the plate still, guac, rice, sauce, jalapeños, and the large dish of tender and juicy meat and fries and sauce. 10/10 recommend. The service was top notch. Make a rezzy here.

The place is beneath the flyover so expect noise when you are approaching the restaurant. Food is decent, a friend of mine and I ordered some of the appetizers and entree to share. I like that they simplify it down their menu just to a single paper and double sided. On one end you have the cocktails and beer menu and on the other end you have food menu.

I'm very disappointed so many things changed since the last time I visited this place 5 years ago - the food was good and affordable not sure why they made this place not delicious and with crazy prices. I ordered the lomo saltado - it's $115 dollars when it was $40 dollars before. Let me tell you it's a joke - so little pieces of onions, crushed in French fries on top and so little steak and rice. The chicha morada is $12 dollars and it had so much ice that after few minutes I could barely taste it anymore and for $12 bucks like it's an alcoholic drink. The appetizers were the only good part

Not sure why this place doesn't have 4+ stars!?!? I'm a total food snob and this place blew me away. Had a reservation with a dear friend, ordered the scallops, the king trumpet skewers, duck sausage, and the pork. Every bite was flavorful perfection, and the service was fantastic. This was a month ago and I'm still thinking about it. Highly recommend.
Trendy spot for Peruvian food in Brooklyn.
I would highly recommend having a reservation here, especially for the weekends. The food was decent and definitely unique. We came here with a group of four and shared all the dishes. We started off with cocktails, 2 different ceviches, and beef heart skewers. Definitely some of the most unique ceviche flavors I have had - both were incredibly refreshing. We then split the lomo saltado - the most highly anticipated dish of the night. Unfortunately 3/4 of us found it incredibly salty and the steak to fry ratio was completely off considering the price (we probably each had 2 morsels of beef). We finished with the olive oil cake which was okay, nothing to write home about. Overall cool spot to check out but will probably not be returning any time soon.
Exceptional Restaurant for Unique and Delicious Dishes
Every dish was better than the last. All unique. All exceptional. Service was stellar. Atmosphere was great. I would go again in a heartbeat.
Culinary gem
With a name like Llama Inn, you better have serious food game! Walked to the highly rated restaurant, sans reservation, and was cordially accommodated at the bar. The dimly lit restaurant somehow oozes exciting appeal. I was fortunate that by sitting at the bar, I interacted with the excellent bar staff, who helped make my evening even better. Despite the small menu, making choices is not easy at Llama. I settled for 2 appetizers: the skate wing and the crispy calamari ceviche. Both were incredibly delicious. The best tiger's milk I have ever tasted. An equally well thought out wine list compliments the great food.

Great Service - amazing dinner!!
Read about the site in NYT and bought a reservation at Mother Wolf in LA 2 days later. Worked great and the food was amazing!!!
Worked perfectly!
Got the reservation (that I couldn't get anywhere else) and was able to entertain a group of friends at the infamous Bern's Steakhouse.
Got into Nobu Malibu
Wonderful! My parents are visiting and we have wanted to go to Nobu Malibu for years. I tried getting a reservation myself but it was next to impossible. So glad I was able to buy a reservation on appointment trader for a decent price!
Very easy
Was very hesitant going into this experience but am glad to say that it worked out very well ! will definitely use appointment trader in the future
Fabulous Lunch
I was veeeeeerry skeptical that this would work, particularly at a restaurant as hard to get into as Nobu Malibu, and it was perfect! We had lunch outside on the patio and it was fabulous!
Great reviewer team
Just wanted to take a second to shout out the reviewer team. Even though they probably review hundreds of listings and bids a day, they still take the time to leave great comments and respond relatively quickly. Thanks!
Incredible
I got a reservation to Don Angie, which I've been trying to book for weeks! I am very happy with this service.
Best platform out there!
Super simple, easy, and fast to secure reservations for hard-to-get restaurants and locations!

Worked well, got me into a restaurant with no availability
I was skeptical, and I still don't really know how they managed to find this hard-to-find reservation, but it was a win-win from my point of view, and I'll use this service again.
Last minute reservation for Delilah Las Vegas
Got a last minute reservation, dinner for 2 at Delilah Las Vegas: super impressed! The process was simple, transaction seamless. We had an amazing time! Couldn’t be happier! 😍
It works!
Ok at this point I've attended a reservation purchased on AT by a friend and sold a reservation personally. Both worked pretty smoothly, nothing sketchy about it. A few areas for improvement including a way to more directly communicate between buyers and sellers, but the app always seems to be in development. AT customer support is really(!) responsive and helpful too if you have questions!
Money transfer
As a seller, I like the fact i have the ability now to transfer money out of my AT account and into a bank account. Makes getting the money much easier then the process before.
Love this app
Got to go to places otherwise unreachable
Easy Access
Very easy to get into one of the hardest restaurants to reserve in New York.
Whose name will my reservation be under when I arrive at the venue?
It can be under your name or a name you choose! Some reservation offers already include the AppointmentTrader Transfer Service which will transfer the reservation in to your name. If its not included you can add it on after buying the reservation for a small fee. One thing on that though: As many reservations become available at last minute, taking a reservation in someone else name is quick and great for privacy. Most reservations on AT are listed with a virtual phone number, so all you need to do is present the phone number at the hostess stand and you are good to go!
Payouts Blocked Because of Sell Through Rate
Does anyone know how AT plans to handle cases where a seller is quitting the platform but has a sell through rate <25%? The error message I got said to fill more bids or find other ways to increase the rate.
Is AT really going to block sellers from withdrawing their money? Especially revenue made before the sell through rate was introduced??

LOL. Thank you The New Yorker.

Transferring reservations is not supported in AT. Why not just use the name in the AT screenshot?
Buyers interested in Bern's Steakhouse: PLEASE READ
Same goes for 4 Charles and I Sodi
Prepaid Reservation Fee
Agreed. Ultimately not addressing this month after month is clearly resulting in a drop in certain venue’s rankings & sales.
Congrats on 3 mil
🍾🍾🍾🍾🍾🍾🧨🧨🧨 now on to 30 mill!
Need to cancel a bid, not getting a response… how do I do it?
Click on "Take off the Market Option" in your portfolio
Working on your bid?
Your bid has been “matched” with a reservation. From the time a reservation has been located, the seller of the reservation must connect with moderator to give transfer information for reservation. If the seller;however, does NOT respond to reservation transfer, then your bid is reprocessed and returns to the first step, which is connecting your request to a reservation.
Process after bid is accepted.
Hey @EvocativeFold67, welcome to appointmenttrader! Once the reservation is in your portfolio, you definitely own the timeslot, the review team would not have approved the trade if the reservation wasn't confirmed - so you are going :-) Judging from your post you bid today and are going tomorrow - don't worry as long as you initiated the name transfer, you are good - the transfer service has to work with the opening hours of the reservation team of the respective venue. You will likely see the transfer confirmation a couple hours before your reservation time.
Where do the Reservations on AppointmentTrader come from?
Mostly from people who don't need their reservations or appointments any longer. AT has no relationship with places listed and acts as a platform connecting buyers and sellers making sure that listed reservations are real and that privacy is not compromised when transacting.
What happens if my bid expires unanswered?
Hey @FluffyStar64, thanks for the question! When you place your bid the amount gets transferred in a deposit account, the second you either cancel your bid or a few minutes after the bid expires the funds are moved back into your main account from where you can refund it to your payment method or use for other transactions.
