Degrading!
I very rarely write a review, but when I do, it is for a reason - positive or negative. This review is in no way positive. Don’t get me wrong, the food doesn’t taste half-bad for the price point given the establishment is conveniently located in a strip mall. THAT SAID…. I’ve never received/witnessed more appalling service. I’m not sure if there was a change in management or what, but I WILL NEVER support this business again, nor will I recommend it to friends, or colleagues visiting from out of town!! I am disgusted!! I called in a simple order this evening and drove to pick it up. I waited for 15 minutes before being acknowledged. That doesn’t bother me… The part that absolutely disgusted me and the CS antics I find incomprehensible are those of the waiter handling the to-go orders. There was another patron waiting for his food and he was told “5 more minutes”. While waiting, he took a seat at one of the 9 entirely-vacant tables. The absolutely rude employee of Little Madfish (wearing a Raider’s hat) subsequently told the patron to move to the booth (as to not obstruct the walkway given his size). I didn’t know what to do at the time, but upon reflection should have walked out on my order then and there! Mortifying! To belittle and humiliate a human being based on size is beyond me… let alone a PATRON (literally supporting your business)! I will never support this establishment again based on the degradation and dismal customer services and lack of respect witness Customers Beware! Good luck!
Be the first to ReplyMediocre sushi. Strip mall sushi
Mediocre sushi. The rice was really falling apart. Probably a good choice if hungry as the portions are of good size
Be the first to ReplySmall place. Good food!
This place is small situated in a shopping complex. I ordered the beef teriyaki bento because I was hungry. The salad dressing was a little too sweet. The tempura was not too crunchy and the gyoza was okay. The beef was tender and the teriyaki sauce wasn't too runny. All in all. Not a bad meal!

I loved this place bento boxes are sooooo good. I got a tarriaki bento with shrimp tampura and extra California rolls :)
Be the first to ReplyA cozy little place with good food!
I have dined at the Little Mad Fish Redwood City location many times and have always had a good experience. The food quality and quantity is consistently good and the prices are very reasonable. My overall favorite item to order off their menu is one of the bento box meals. It's a good sampling of many items.
Be the first to ReplyDisappointing experience
A location-based ad on Facebook highlighted this restaurant as a popular local place. The California and shrimp rolls we ordered were loosely rolled and slices were too big to put in the mouth. The rolls were a mess on the plates. The agedashi tofu had thick, rather than the usual delicate, flour coating. It looked more like tempura tofu. The dish did not taste good. The bento box we ordered was substantial enough but quality was so so. Service was perfunctory. The value for money was poor. I say, skip this restaurant. You would do better getting your meal from next-door Panda Express.

I'm a regular guest in this place on the happy hour time! Love their rolls, however service is not always the best. There are few people that really take care of the restaurant, but also a bunch of those that look like they don't really want to work. The mango lobster roll, hands down, the best one in menu!

I recently had dinner here and it was good. The Bento Box was very large for one person but it had a nice variety including 3 pieces of sushi. The sushi was warmer than I prefer (I like to really cold) but overall my meal was good and the service was fine.

Maybe we were victims of poor choice. I choose a tempura plate and and ramen bowl. Tempura was really doughy and oily (maybe that's normal for a mid-class restaurant, but I was comparing in my mind with the tempura of a Japanese friend). The veggie ramen bowl had little flavor. The service was perfunctory. I was handed the wrong bill but that was quickly fixed by a pleasant waitress, who then gave me the wrong change--off by 22 cents but we let that fly. Anyway, other people seemed to be enjoying their food here.

We chose little mad fish because my cousin who goes to Menlo college highly recommended this place. She claimed it was a student body favorite and true enough she bumped into a batch mate when we went. We waited 30 minutes. Many rolls, curry, ramen and assorted dishes available for order. They even had calamari. We had many rolls that the table ordered for sharing, and none were good, all pretty average at best and at 12-15usd. I had the mistake of ordering the bento beef box (15 usd), it had like 5 TINY pcs of super THIN meat. It had salad which was swimming in dressing. The sushi with it, was pathetic "chefs choice" was practically rice and mayo. Probably one of the worst bento boxes I've had, and definitely not worth the price. This place has a line and that is deceiving, if i were you, I'd just go to the Panda Express beside it.
