Little Alley New York Reviews from The Last Year
Delightful, just Delightful
Delightful place and good quality just about in every aspect. Nice ambiance with contemporary Asian decor and comfortable seats. Knowledgeable wait staff whose opinions should be valued before ordering. Wonderfully flavored dishes with an obvious tilt toward Shanghainese which means the traditional Sichuan cuisine will not be spicy enough if that is what you are looking for. Some very innovative dishes including salted duck egg rice cake should be must try. Food come in reasonable portions. Oh, did I mention that they have an excellent cocktail list?
Soo delicious food!! Similar flavor as what I ate in
Soo delicious food!! Similar flavor as what I ate in Shanghai. The Dong Po Pork is the best and I also love their soup dumplings and vege dumplings! Their cocktails are specially made. I really like what I drank is called class 3-2, very fresh. Great food, great service, and great environment! We'll be back
Little alley is definitely a to go place for some "alley"
Little alley is definitely a to go place for some "alley" Shanghainese food. There menu are a mixed of traditional Shanghai and dim sum! My favorite are definitely the crab soup dumping and dong pork with buns. Great services and very nice host!
This is the first time to eat at Little Alley.
What they provide is not authentic Shanghainese food and it has been Americanized. The food taste is really not good. Also the quantity of dish is small. I will not come to this place again.
This was a pretty average place to grab Chinese food.
The potstickers were crispy on the outside, and the eggplant had a nice flavorful sauce. The mapo tofu was just fine - I thought the sauce was a bit too watery. I also had a hot cocktail called the wife which reminded me of a hot toddy - pretty good. Overall, I was neither impressed nor disappointed.
I just moved into the neighborhood and was astonished to
I just moved into the neighborhood and was astonished to discover this place, which seems transported from Shanghai and just dropped on 3rd Ave! I don't have anything to add to the accolades about the food and service, except "Amen!" There is one disappointment though: the dumplings really aren't very good. The dough is MUCH too thick, which covers up the taste of the filling. And the soup dumplings have almost no soup. I've tried them on three different occasions so I guess that is just how they make them. Too bad. You're better off getting them at the chain restaurant DAO on Madison. Still, what a blessing to have this so close!!!
Back to say that this place is still pushing great food.
Lunch special is still awesome and portions are pretty generous. 10/10 when I'm craving my moms red braised pork belly
Yall - such a tasty dinner at Little Alley tonight.
It's a little cold out and I am just getting over a little cold so I thought some won ton soup sounded like a good idea. Yes. Yes it was a good idea. I would highly recommend and cannot wait to go back to Little Alley myself. The service and the ambience were great. In addition to the won ton soup. I also had Shanghai Shu Mai dumplings, which were out of this world good. The sticky rice was legit. Like legit legit. So so good! Going back - and you should too!
Great service.
Nice food. Amazing place to visit! the fishbloosm and luffa are the must.
the place serves slightly above average chinese food.
it is not bad, but it is not chinatown quality. if you are in the neighborhood, it is better than most of the others nearby. keep you expectations in check, and you might have a good meal. not many vegan options, but thats to be expected. solid 3.5 stars. giving 4 because the service is good.
Little Alley was a cute lil spot in Midtown East.
We ordered the right delicacies in chili sauce and the dongpo pork belly with buns. Both dishes came with rice. Both dishes were also super yummy and the portions were quite large. My friend and I were unable to finish everything, we ended up packing some to go. I definitely see why this spot is Michelin guide.
Great Cantonese food
The name says it all. It is a smallish restaurant but the food is awesome – the only restaurant I went twice during my stay in NYC. My personal favourite was the Lazizee (Sauteed Chicken with Hot Chilli) and the pork soup dumplings. We also ordered the Pork belly with veggies and rice and the stir fried cumin lamb. The service is quick and hospitable. Comes on my recommended list of Shangai Chinese restaurants in Manhattan.
A Delicious Discovery
The food was absolutely delicious! We were very happy to find this restaurant here on Trip Advisor. We will be visiting here again on our next trip to NYC.
Great service and food
I was craving soup dumplings but didn’t want to make the trip to Chinatown (from Manhattan) This place had delicious dumplings! The pepper steak was Spicy but SUPER delicious! The service was EXCELLENT
Authentic Shanghainese food in casual setting
Little Alley is a Chinese restaurant offering traditional Shanghainese food in a casual modern setting on 3rd Ave between 37th and 38th St. We saw many Chinese people dining at the restaurant, which is usually an indication of food being pretty authentic and not overly modified to Western tastebuds. Portion sizes are generous, bear this in mind when ordering your food - we ordered way too much! Food was absolutely delicious, as were the very creative cocktails. Staff was professional, but not overly attentive. Clearly recommended if you want to enjoy high-quality Chinese food in a no-fuzz setting, and at very decent rates.
Hit and Miss
Food here is hit and miss. We liked the soup dumplings, the red chicken with ginger, and eggplant. Less success was the duck (lots of bones) and not at all successful was the tofu with crab. There is a nice selection of cocktails and some good beers on tap. Service is quick and efficient.

Thank you for the question, if a seller is working on answering your bid, you cannot cancel it until their time is up and the bid is released back to you. The full amount of funds then go back into your AT account. Typically a seller has 48-72 hours to complete the bid.
