Very nice space, very convenient, excellent food, amateurish service
This a great addition to Lincoln Center, perfect for a pre-ballet dinner. The restaurant itself is sort of Italian modern in style and you have views in one direction of the kitchen and in the other of Lincoln Center and the reflecting pool. Very attractive. Everything we had to eat was fairly simple but quite excellent. The service, on the other hand, was amateurish, and that's being charitable. Better training (or perhaps some training?) is needed. I had finished my appetizer but my wife was still eating. In fact, she had her fork halfway to her mouth when our waiter came to our table and cleared my plate away. Who trained this guy? He was certainly not up to the standards that I would expect of a restaurant of this caliber, and proved it when he brought us our main course but forgot the glasses of wine we had ordered to go with dinner. He plunked our plates down in front of us and then disappeared. We waited for about 5 minutes, but our waiter was nowhere to be found. We finally managed to flag down the maitre d', and he went off to check on our wine. After a bit our waiter appeared with the wine, looking a bit annoyed that we had involved the maitre d' ... but if we hadn't done anything we would have finished our dinner before the wine came. Inexcusable. It is this kind of service that can ruin a good meal.
Be the first to ReplyPerfect for Lincoln Center pre-performance dining!
We noticed this elegant looking restaurant and walked in without a reservation. The pleasant hostess invited us to sit at the full-service bar where we were greeted by Mario who took great care of us. The food and drinks were fabulous and we will return soon.

He an outstanding experience at Lincoln. We visited for dinner prior to the Metropolitan Opera. Super convenient to walk just a few steps after dinner to enter the theatre. The ambiance of the restaurant is great and the service and food both were outstanding. We especially liked the two pasta dishes we shared. Cooked perfectly and very tasty and a bit different than the norm.
Be the first to ReplySaltimbocca Sadness
I was excited to return to Lincoln for dinner before Met Opera. It was sadly disappointing: the fritto misto is a crackly plate of over battered bits of fish with no discernible taste and uniform texture. The saltimbocca was far from what saltimbocca should be/could be. I was served three medallions of veal that were tough to eat. The longed for tenderised succulence with notes of sage was replaced with a faux poor representation of the dish. One of the potatoes nudged against a carrot was burnt. Left me feeling low. I didn't give feedback last night as I was aware of causing discomfort for my guests. Also waited way too long for wine. Delighted by the lemon oil served with the foccacia. But overall a long way to fly for a woefully lacklustre offering.

We dined at Lincoln Ristorante last week with family and had a wonderful time. The ambiance is really pleasant and relaxing, located right between Lincoln Center and Juilliard. You're greeted by friendly hostesses when you enter, looking directly into the main kitchen behind glass partitions. The atmosphere was quiet and pleasing. The appetizer focaccia bread was an excellent way to get our palettes warmed up to our great meal. The cocktails were excellent. For the mains, the Bronzino looked really good and the couple that ordered it really enjoyed it. My Shrimp Risotto was excellent and cooked to perfection. My wife had the veal and really enjoyed it. Another family member ordered the Spaghetti bolognese...the sauce was really good and the the noodles resembled more of a Bucatini than a spaghetti noodle, which made for a great entree. I would highly recommend Lincoln Ristorante for anyone looking for an upscale and creative Italian dining experience.
Be the first to ReplyPerfect location for pre-opera dinner.
Our waiter, Ahmi, was EXCEPTIONAL! Food was fabulous! Comfortable seating. Directly across from The Metropolitan Opera House, so perfect location for pre-opera dinner.

Have dinned here before but not for years. Remember it as being a lovely experience. Not last night. We were a group of five. The attentiveness of the wait staff was really poor for any restaurant, let alone one that seeks to rank amongst the best. Three of us ordered the Chicken Milanese which was tasteless. I also ordered the Broccoli Rabe, Acrodolce which was excellent which is why I gave it two stars as opposed to one. Disappointing experience.

Met a friend for dinner and I was completely satisfied. The staff, from the person greeting you through our server were friendly and accommodating. The food was perfectly cooked and the presentation outstanding. The recommendation for wine was excellent. I highly recommend Lincoln!

Thank you! I always enjoy dining at Lincoln Ristorante and have ever since it opened its doors. I had the pleasure of dining there 3/1/20. Laurie, the gracious and professional restaurant manager, sat me near the window with a view of the Henry Moore sculpture pool which only added to the already casual elegant ambiance. I started with Minestrone Ai Frutti Di Mare (Gulf Shrimp, Nantucket Bay Scallops, Little Neck Clams, Crustacean Broth, Grilled Ciabatta), followed by Polpette Di Vitello (Veal-Ricotta Meatballs, Anson Mills Polenta, Cremini Mushrooms, Black Truffle-Veal Jus) and ended with Lumache Con Guazzetto Di Polpo (Octopus Braised with Tomato, Fennel, Fresh Oregano, Pecorino Fiore di Sardo). I finished the light, rich ministrone, had one totally delicious meatball so that I could have room for the superb lumache of which I ate half. I had a wonderful lunch today! I had no dessert. Christian, my captain, recommended the lumache and was gracious, Daniella, my back server was efficient and attentive, Sterling, the account manager and Shannon, reception, were friendly and helpful as well. Last and far from least, kudos to Chef Shea Gallante and the kitchen crew for a truly excellent meal perfectly prepared and presented!
Be the first to ReplyWonderful space, mostly great food
Beautiful place to get warm on a cold night pre-opera, food was mostly great (other than cod entree, which was boring, but I should have gotten the chicken, which was great) - the pistachio gelato which they gave us for free was remarkable, the best I've ever had; the hamachi, which I expected to not love but it was the best I could find among the options, was outstanding. Wonderful service, nice friendly staff.
Be the first to ReplyA wonderful dinner
We went pre-Opera and were assured to leave at the time we needed, ahead of the usual time, to pick up tickets awaiting us. We were taken care of by many efficient servers as well as the manager (?). We had had a stressful afternoon with a ticket snafu, and an unpleasant taxi ride (best forgotten), so we were not happy folks when we arrived. But soon we were relaxed and in a good place. Wonderful bread, great leek soup, and a small meal - pasta for me and salmon for my husband - and a gift little halvah for dessert on a happy anniversary plate (no time for a full dessert). Just right - we will return for sure.

This is one of the most elegant and refined restaurants in the city. The service is attentive without being fawning and the atmosphere is so beautiful. Had dinner before the Philharmonic and the food was as usual, outstanding. We had the veal meatballs which are exceptional and followed with the fettuccine with white truffles and only missed not having them shaved on top table side. Highly recommend a visit here though the experience expensive but well worth it.
Be the first to Replysoooooo good
Food, service, presentation, general hospitality, beauty (and lack of noise) of the space - all first rate. We both ordered the veal - extremely good. Will be back. One tiny issue - i called to find out about parking, it said "choose option 3". Option 3 gave same info as option 2, a long recitation of the menu. So for those with the same question, PARK IN LINCOLN CENTER LOT. You're welcome. Enjoy your meal !! (try the veal)

Location and view is great, in Lincoln Center looking out to the courtyard (also outdoor seating)
They nail it from the start with the ricotta cheese and honey for dipping the bread. Entrees are creative and tasty.
Truly one of our favorites in the midtown/upper west side area.
