Good for a dinner
This restaurant its very good located in Midtown. The personal in there its very Kind and everyone knows how to do. The food and the drinks have a great variety and the options are great for clients. The ambiance is adequate for the kind of restaurant. The prices are good. You might ask if you are not sure about some plates.
Be the first to ReplyGood food, but....
This was a lecture and dinner in a private room at Limani for 40 people. The food was quite good but the service was TERRIBLE. The waiters shouted "Who ordered chicken?" and then just plopped the plates in the middle of the table for us to figure out. There was a significant delay in the service as well. we had to leave at 9 pm, before they served dessert. The accoustics in that room were poor. There was no acoustic conditioning to absorb sound (carpets, draperies, etc) so we had to scream at each other during dinner even to hear the person seated next to us. Appears that post-COVID staffing is still a struggle for many restaurants.

Delicious meal. The octopus appetizer was OUTSTANDING & the salmon main course was also excellent. The Baklava was different from what I have had before but great also. Nice wine list & good service. definitely a place I would return to.
Be the first to ReplyGorgeous Dining Room
Gorgeous setting. We had early lunch reservations, and the place filled up (and got loud). It seemed to be a lot of business lunches. I was excited for the lunch menu, but I ended up being disappointed. My starter salad was very tasty, but I wish it hadn't been inside of the avocado shell.. My main course was shrimp, and the shrimp were severely overcooked. Like rubber. However I enjoyed the dessert and was surprised by the delicate flavor of the lavender ice cream.

We wanted sustenance to brave the holiday mobs at Rockefeller Center, so we reserved (absolutely necessary) an early dinner well in advance. The room is spacious, elegant, and just the right combination of conversational buzz without being loud. Loved the fish mobile over the center fountain. Our service was prompt, attentive and thoroughly professional. However, the server asked 'How would you like your ouzo?' Anyone who has visited Greece (I used to live there) knows there is only one way. You can go to the ice mound near the kitchen and pick out your fish (my barbouni / red mullet was excellent. But, the octopus... I used to catch & cook octopus, and I marvel at the magic of Limani's chefs. Succulent, flavorful, melt-in-your-mouth tender, served on a bed of the sweetest finely sliced white onions. I will dream about it for years... Yes, it's pricey, but despite probably having a guaranteed stream of tourists, they step up and deliver. And I can't imagine the rent. If you're a fan of Greek food, this is top of the line.
Be the first to ReplyExtremely disappointing meal.
The restaurant is beautiful - food mediocre at best. My scallops still had the muscle attached (poor preparation) and were just ok (all 3 of them!) flavor wise. My salmon was supposed to come with chef's selection of steamed vegetables and there was just one small broccoli floret. A friend ordered the avocado salad which turned out to be half an avocado still in its skin! and her sea bass which she said was ok (but it looked a mess - poor presentation) also only had one piece of broccoli. A vegetarian friend ordered pasta which he had to cover with crushed red pepper flakes to add some flavor! For the prices they charge it was a letdown. Would not go back.

My family took me there to celebrate my birthday. very disappointed, we waited to give our order one hour, then between each course we waited 30 minutes, it was my birthday, we could not tell the waiter that because he never came ones to ask if we needed anything, we had a baby with us, she was very hungry, i had to asked the waiter please hurry up with the food since the baby (18 months old) was very hungry. Another thing that we had reservations, the hosted immediately took us to a basement without asking if that was ok (they had an extra room) i told her that absolutely not i want to be upstairs, i felt discriminate with this action ,i will never go again.

Limani is a visually appealing restaurant but didn't quite meet up to expectations. While the food was good, it wasn't served particularly hot. If you can't serve an entree hot, then it's difficult to meet people's expectations. The service was good, with an array of people coming by with various orders. The downside to this approach is that no one has primary responsibility for the table. As a result, no one came by to check on the food temperature. We went ahead and ate before it got too cold.

The restaurant is over crowded and you are crammed in on small tables Our table wasnโt quite ready so we had to step aside and wait Once seated and menus given out our drinks order was taken Then when I asked for the chicken dish the waiter rolled his eyes and huffed and said โYou do know this is a fish restaurant, I can do you the chicken but it will take 40 minutes to cook and it will be dry and not very nice !!!! So I changed my choice, as he was quite aggressive with his approach! The food then took ages to come out after our starter (we ordered a dozen oysters and had only 6) but couldnโt be bothered to fight that one !! Ironically it took about 40 minutes for the mains to arrive and my fish was tepid !! Not dry but on the cold side We told him it was cold and he again was quite aggressive and said let me take it and I can heat it up, it will only take a minute!!! I mean how do you heat something up in 1 minute unless is in a microwave!! Iโm sorry but not going to pay the prices they are asking for it to be nuked in a microwave!!! Overall a very disappointing meal and experience!! Rude staff cold food high prices They seemed to have taken on too much and are overwhelmed! Will not be back !!!

I usually go to Greek restaurants for their good fish. This time at Limani I ordered fillet mignon, and my grandson had lamb chops. They both were excellent. This is a clean restaurant including its open kitchen and restrooms. Its interior decoration is beautiful. Waiters are attentive. We came at 5:30 pm and chose pretheater menu: $49 for a good three course dinner. We paid $10 extra for our meat choices, but was worth it. For dessert we chose what in Tรผrkiye we call revani with orange flavor. Sorry I forgot its Greek name. It was fantastic. I asked for decaf coffee with milk. The milk came in a warm pitcher, which you get in best restaurants. Well, Limani certainly is in that class.

Beautiful, food was amazing!. The atmosphere was so relaxing with the white decor and blue water! We ate off the pri fix menu. $60 for 3 course. 4 choice in each category. The drink menu also had many options vi had the calamari, mediterrain Sea bass and the karspocida ( walnut cake). All was great!

The Hilton had recommended this restaurant, so we tried. It is very attractive and upscale looking. My son had a crab cake and I had a chicken dish - both were ok but nothing special. We had planned on Molyvos - which we really like, but it closed. We look forward to itโs new location. This just didnโt come across as particularly Greek cuisine.

This is a large and brightly lite restaurant near the Rockerfellow Centre. Mainly Seafood and itโs Greek. Salads nice. Sharp look.
Be the first to ReplyBest Greek restaurant in NYC
It has been the best Greek restaurant I have ever been. We went there for years eve and the decoration and food is amazing. Even a couple that was there used the restaurant to propose marriage to his girlfriend. Really recomendable to go with couples or family.
Be the first to ReplyRubbery Lobster
Came to NY to see a lovely photo installation by #Maurice Harris at 45 Rockefeller Ctr. The security guard highly recommended Limani for a elegant meal. We were shown the house special of fresh seafood we could order and have prepared, we chose 1 Solets and 1 Lobster. The Solet was doable, but the Lobster was tough and rubbery. Not sure if we needed request Lobster to be cooked done, but in such an "elegant" restaurant I was expecting it would melt in my mouth. We were very disappointed and unable to eat most of the Lobster because the rubbery, tough texture caused me to gag and almost vomit. We expressed our disappoint to waiter, and we were offered a glass of wine. Well, we don't drink. I was disappointed, frustrated, and upset that I paid $191.34 for a meal that was horrible.
Be the first to ReplyExcellent food and location, good service. Outside dining available
We were a party of 4, and there is still, you know, COVID around. This made the option of outside dining here, on a balmy early fall evening a delight. Our vaccination status was still confirmed, and should you eat inside they will also take your temperature which shows how seriously they take the pandemic, even if it is a touch performative. The menu here is not huge and I actually like that given that that there is still ample choice. There is a decent selection of wines by the glass too, which is a good thing given the prices of some of the bottles on offer. I get that wine is always going to expensive in central NYC so I like the option of a glass or two. Fine food here in a delightful, relatively quiet outdoor setting given the location. I imagine the wind could whip through here on a breezy day but fortunately we were not here on such a day and it makes outside a great bet (you will probably be given the option). On to the food - if you have any yearning for calamari there is a stuffed version on the appetizer menu that was delightful and brilliantly executed. We also partook of the grilled shrimp was greatly liked by those on the table who made that choice. I ordered big eye tuna which was exquisite. Perhaps the best I have ever had in terms of the cooking, flavor and texture which was almost like room temperature butter in it's consistency. Absolutely delightful and I highly recommend it. Service was good - attentive without being overbearing. Expensive? Depends what you are used to and expect of course but I thought it very reasonable for the quality and the location. Really, really worth your time to pay a visit if you like this type of cuisine. It is really excellent.
Be the first to ReplyIn Rockefeller Plaza
Possible to sit outdoors and indoors, in Rockefeller Plaza. I had a Greek salad, good, but expensive. The mezze and the appetizer I had were heavy and expensive. The deserts were also extra heavy. As I say, the food is heavy, maybe it is what we ordered. But, we went vegetarian for this meal, and still paid a lot. I instead would recommend the lunch deal. We were too late for that, but you get an appetizer, a main and a desert for under $30. Now that sounds like a very good deal.

Food was delicious, especially the octopus as per my husband's opinion. He also liked the crab cake. I ordered lentil salad with salmon and even was a small portion it was satisfying and good. The wines were a bit expensive but I guess it's NYC.
