Not a 3-star experience despite excellent food
Food was creative, perfectly presented and excellent. However, the total experience was not that of a 3 star restaurant. It was a beautiful, warm day. We asked to have a first drink of champagne on the terrace where you arrive. There were 2 tables set up for a meal. We were seated at a table which could be at an average bistrot, served a €35/glass champagne (fine) and when I asked if we could have something to accompany the drink, we were told that the apéritif could only be served at the inside table. I insisted and we were given olives and cashew nuts as in non-star restaurant. The restaurant was not full. Everything appeared a bit off. My friend whose birthday we were celebrating left the table and while he was gone, the chocolate soufflé desert was brought. A 3 star restaurant does not bring a dish when the person is not at the table. When I said something, instead of excusing the error, I was told that it was because the dish was hot. A 3 star restaurant works for the client and not the other way. This is not a 3 star experience nor worth the price of the lunch.

Great upscale fine dining experience. Loved the amuse bouche and all the different courses. The view of the coastline is spectacular and adds to the experience.

My recent stay at Le Petit Nice Passedat in Marseille was a true Mediterranean dream come to life. The hotel’s location, perched on the rocky coastline overlooking the azure waters of the Mediterranean Sea, provided a breathtaking backdrop. My room was a sanctuary of contemporary elegance, with a private terrace offering panoramic sea views. The central location allowed me to explore Marseille’s coastal beauty, from the Calanques to the Old Port. Dining at the hotel’s Michelin-starred restaurant, Le Petit Nice, was a culinary journey, with a menu highlighting Provencal and Mediterranean flavors. Le Petit Nice Passedat exceeded all my expectations, and I eagerly anticipate my next visit to this seaside gem in Marseille.

This restaurant was recommended by a friend of mine. So, it's in my bucket list when I visit Marseille. Who will not fall in-love with this serene and romantic place in Southern France? The place is awesome with amazing sea view!!! Stunning, Delicious food. Everything was perfectly executed. The staffs are professional and friendly. Rate was little pricey but no regrets since this is 3 Michelin stars. It's definitely worth a visit!!!

Our five course lunch at this restaurant was simply amazing! Ingredients were fresh, locally sourced and seafood based. Every dish was artfully presented. Words will not do justice to describe this amazing meal. Here are some pictures. The dining room has a panoramic view of the sea and coastline. Staff were pleasant and down to earth. The restaurant offers a wide selection of wines at various price points. An amazing dining experience!
Be the first to ReplyCrap service, average food, don't waste your money!
I think the title says it all. The only thing this place has going for it is the view. The owner/chef walks around without even acknowledging or smiling at his paying customers. Service is extremely slow... over 30 mins for wine to arrive. Food is nothing special. Breakfast at 39 euros pp is a basic continental. We weren't even offered for someone to take our luggage to our car as we were leaving. Huge disappointment.
Be the first to ReplyAttention! Here comes a must-read!
1: do not go with a big car/SUV there: it's way too tight and whoever is going to park your car will scratch it for sure. this happened to us, the restaurant denied it and because welcome-to-Marseille you'll have to pay the damage yourself obviously.
2: did you noticed that there are no management-responses below the reviews here? it proves that there simply is no management! no idea how they got the 3 Michelin stars (it makes you question the credibility of this) but they don't even have a qualified
manager taking care of everything belonging to this in the 21st century.
3: I contacted the owner, Mr. Passedat, expressed my disappointment, asked for acknowledgement etc. and guess what? no response! not even a "sorry for your inconvenience".
4: food: very average. it is tasty, but there is no distinction between a normal nice restaurant and a 3 (!!!) star Michelin restaurant. again! not acceptable!
5: way too overpriced. they should def. rethink their strategy.
6: Mr. Passedat should take the money he has and please do something else. he is a shame for his father, who established this. he is unfortunately taking it to ground.
A Pleasant Evening by the Sea
The restaurant is warmly lit and cozily sits over the sea with views southward to the newer, southern part of Marseille. It’s a very romantic spot and you will enjoy your evening here. The wine list is pedigreed, especially with superb whites, and is very fairly priced. Our ’13 Coche Meursault Les Rougeots was perfection with the seafood-anchored menu. All the dishes, though not always inspiring, were well executed. The offerings were prepared so as to be tender and nicely flavored. Some dishes were more mundane and if you are not the adventurous sort, you will find everything here to your liking. We tend to like a little boldness/intrepidness with at least some of our courses, but Passedat sticks to more tried and true classical seafood preparation. The service was a delight as the staff are very cordial and personable. It would be nice if the restaurant upped the food ingenuity level.
