Le Colonial Naples Reviews from The Last Year
This is my third Le Colonial location in the last decade.
With the others being San Francisco and Chicago. While I'm ecstatic to see elevated Asian cuisine (specifically Vietnamese) in the heart of Naples. Some of the items feel like failed attempts. Many of the dishes are overpriced for the portion you receive. This was our first time having lunch. It was over $100 a person at $460+ for the items sele below. Drinks - le colonial rose was good as were the various (pricey) cocktails we tried Apps - egg rolls (tasty), lotus salad, beef carpaccio, ravioli Entrees - shaking beef (portion size was definitely disappointing...as someone else noted, it's more like a salad than an entree), chicken curry (on the sweeter side but enjoyable) Sides - garlic noodles (little too sweet and overcooked noodles), garlic green beans (disappointing, not much flavor) Service was very pleasant but quite slow at times. Ambiance was amazing and probably the reason LC gets four stars instead of 3.
I am Vietnamese! I miss my mom Home cook food and I saw
I am Vietnamese! I miss my mom Home cook food and I saw the menu and I thought hey I m gonna have some delicious home cooked meal . It isn't so. I ordered Gà xào cã ót ( spicy chicken stir fry) grilled eggplants and còm Chiên ( signature fried rice ) . The eggplants were delicious. Full of flavors and juicy. Everything went down hill after that . How can you mess up a chicken dish? The chicken was super dried . Dehydrated dry. Desert dry. Paper dry. Not only was it dried, it was chewy and inedible. I took one bite and I literally spit it out. I said to myself maybe it's a fluke. I took another piece of chicken and it was the same. All the juice from the meat was sucked out by the chicken vampire. It was like eating saw dust. The chicken was suppose to be stir fried in lemony and peppe(chili ) . To say the least I didn't taste any lemongrass nor chili. How can you ruin a traditional Vietnamese dish this badly I wondered . You people ruin my memory of Gà xào xã ót. Omg the worst experience I ever had . Let's move on. The Special Fried rice ( còm Chiên ) was plain. I remember how my mom used to make my favorite dish with garlic pepper eggs Chinese sausage scallion with fish sauce . This ain't it . It was plain Jane . No flavors no taste . Total disappointment. So when I asked the waitress for the check and she noticed 95% of the food was uneaten . She asked what was wrong . I was being polite and said "nothing " she asked if I wanted to pack the food to go. I said no thank you . Thinking to myself even my dog wouldn't eat this shit ! How can you ruin and chicken and fried rice dish to this astronomical level ?
Excellent French Vietnamese restaurant
We had eaten at Le Colonial in Chicago several times before and loved it. When we saw they had opened one in Naples, Florida, we decided to make a trip and brought friends with us to check it out. It absolutely did not disappoint. Jelena was our server and she was simply terrific. Very knowledgeable with answers to our guest’s questions. Pleasant. Checked in on us in a timely fashion. The surroundings were beautiful. The food was delicious. We will happily return should we find ourselves in Naples again.
Just when you thought it wasn't possible for 5th Ave to be
Just when you thought it wasn't possible for 5th Ave to be any tonier, along comes the brand new Le Colonial restaurant. This Naples location is the most recent addition to a small, elite chain that started in Manhattan in 1993. According to their website, the founders set out to capture the seductive spirit and vivid flavors reminiscent of Saigon in the 1920's. It certainly has reimagined that era with its sumptuous décor (truly one of the most beautiful restaurants I've had the pleasure of dining at), creative cocktails and delectable menu options. On the night we dined here I started with a fantastic green makrut gimlet, then split the beet salad with wasabi guacamole, the fresh green papaya salad and their signature crispy red snapper which is a whole fish finished tableside. Everything was interesting and delicious plus the service was impeccable. I imagine this will be a popular restaurant where Neapolitans go to see and be seen for years to come. Reservations are challenging to get, so now might be a good time to try Le Colonial before all the snowbirds return.

Le Colonia is a true 5 star restaurant experience in
Le Colonia is a true 5 star restaurant experience in downtown Naples. The atmosphere is stunning, and you truly feel like you were just transported to another place when you walk through the door. A place you don't want to ever leave. We went to Le Colonial to celebrate a friend's birthday. We had to wait 45 minutes past our reservation time, but in exchange we were treated like royalty by the manager and staff. We also had the opportunity to relax at the bar and sample some of the bartender's great craft cocktails. For dinner, we each had an appetizer and then shared 3 entrees. The standout dishes were, well everything. The mixture of ingredients and flavors is different and delicious. But if forced to choose, I'd say both the crispy and fresh spring rolls, the pan seared chicken dumplings, the halibut a la vong, the grilled Branzino, and the green beans. If you're trying to impress someone, definitely take them here for dinner or just drinks at the bar. It's truly a special place.
Truly mediocre.
Requested banquette for Anniversary celebration but were sat at the smallest table in the center of the room pinned to a center table in a near empty dining room at 5 pm on a Sunday. Occasion not acknowledged. Our waiter did not even greet us just asked what kind of water he could sell us then proceeded to rattle off his spiel about the menu while glancing around the restaurant avoiding eye contact in almost indecipherable "English" before even taking a cocktail order. Our conversation was interrupted twice in 1 minute by bussers who wanted to take our half eaten first course dishes. Pork and shrimp spring rolls very oily but tasted good. They tell you how to eat them which is pretty assuming.... Ceviche, flavors ok, but dominated by soggy salmon which was in slices that were not fully disconnected making it difficult to eat. Continued on to the pho, broth was rich and flavorful veggies and herbs fresh rare beef went into the bowl, tenderloin nice but not necessary and flavorless. Ribs very overcooked stringy and overly sweet typical of Chinese takeout ribs over undressed pre mixed veggie slaw. Brussels sprouts best thing we ordered. Skip the garlic noodles too they were dry and bland. We were asked if we wanted to take the unfinished food home and I said it wasn't worth it. Waiter took offense and brought over the exorbitant check for 3 drinks, a soup, 3 apps and 2 sides for $180.00 without even offering dessert. Would recommend you avoid this Naples location tourist trap. I've dined at the Chicago location and the food and service were excellent. Total fail in my opinion.
Outstanding Food and Service
We have a lot of favorites on Fifth Avenue, but le Colonial is our new favorite. The vibe is chic and hip. The service is OUTSTANDING but not a bit pretentious. The food is outstanding everything we had was amazing! Shaking Beef, Salmon, Sea Bass Entrees. Tuna Tar Tar, Ribs, Pork and Shrimp Rolls and Chicken Dumplings as apps. Highly recommend!
I have been to most restaurants on 5th Ave Naples, and this
I have been to most restaurants on 5th Ave Naples, and this place wins the prize. They are doing it right. I went to celebrate a milestone birthday with 2 other guests. The attention to detail is impressive. I dropped my fork and before I could look up someone was there to replace it. The restaurant was still quite busy although the typical madness of the season had died down. The decor and ambiance is first rate. We ordered three cocktails to start which were delivered timely and were made well. I wanted to try an array of small plates to start. We had the beef ravioli wrapped in rice noodles (spicy and addictive), garlic noodles & garlic string beans( outstanding) and the most mouth watering heritage pork spare ribs! I am already thinking about ordering when I return again. I shared the duck entree for two which was absolutely divine. The other entree was the uniquely seasoned salmon also cooked to perfection as the chef recommends medium rare. The portions are generous. We ended the evening with room for only 1 dessert which was the crème brûlée. Delicately light and creamy with the right amount of crunch on top! I had to compliment the GM, Sean, on what a fine job he is doing. Needless to say I look forward to many more dining experiences there.
Have been frequenting this spot since it's opening in
Have been frequenting this spot since it's opening in Naples and I've yet to be disappointed. As many others have said, the ambiance, decor, and visual touches both on the patio and inside are beyond beautiful. As a patron, you're instantly transported to some far away land where the drinks are sweet and your troubles are... well... somewhere far away! Service is always top notch with special attention to detail. I worked in food service for a great number of years and can say that Le Colonial clearly hires only the best. Now onto the food. The rolls (the crispy vegetable, chilled vegetable, and chilled shrimp roll, namely) are 5* items. They don't break the bank and are plain old delicious. ESPECIALLY THE CRISPY VEGETABLE ROLL!! Other dishes my spouse or I tried were a few salads (I would recommend the Le Colonial salat), the ribs (wouldn't get those again - chewy and nothing special), the spicy shrimp stir fry (sort of generic for the price, but decent portion), and the shaking beef (would recommend as it's a pretty little dish that they do prepare quite well). Their drinks are great, so budget for one for yourself if you partake. All in all: make a reservation and soak in the ambiance over a drink and a few small plates. Maybe don't get your hopes up for some of the larger dishes. You won't regret stopping in!
The food, service, ambience and drinks are all five stars.
Absolutely come here for a fantastic experience.
We love this place.
We come in and always look forward to dining there. Easy first come first serve seating in bar area. Which is super cozy on the couch seating. And allows for space for my bag. Service is good. We've sat in dining area before and that service was far superior. But the food. Everything delightfully tasty. No complaints. Much needed for Naples.

French _ Vietnamese
Le Colonial on 5th Ave in Naples is a French - Vietnamese Fusin Restaurant. The restaurant offer both indoor and outdoor dining as well as bar lounge seating. There is nice size bar for drinks and cocktails. The service was great. Make a reservation they pack in quickly. The restaurant has multiple rooms with a awesome decor. The food is absolutely delicious. Parking is difficult so use the Valets.
Delicious Lunch
We stopped for a late lunch and enjoyed the beef soup and fried rice. All was very good and tasty. The service was wonderful.
A little bit of French Vietnamese flavor in Naples.
An incredible new culinary addition to Naples. We were frequent visitors to the Chicago location and we are delighted to have the magic come to our city. It is hard to get a reservation, but the bar area is imcredible and works on a first come, first seat basis making it a great spot to have drinks and share appetizers with friends. Service is impecable!
New 5th av restaurant
Wow.. beautiful new restaurant on Fifth.. excellent French Vietnamese food..and excellent service... lunch and dinner menu is the same... expensive but worth it..$142 for two w one glass of wine.
Make a reservation to impress or head there for a delicious lunch.
The place is off 5th Avenue and is very stunning; little niches all over the place! Food is so amazing at lunchtime. Easy to get in for lunch! Make reservations for dinner. Service excellent. Green curry shrimp so savory!
Epicurean Food In An Exquisite Atmosphere.
Le Colonial is a restaurant occupied along dynamic Fifth Avenue. Naples Fl. Bolstered by exotic French architecture, bold murals, brass lighting, bespoke French silk and other amenities all contribute to a beautiful and sophisticated dining demeanor. Profiled as an upscale French Vietnamese Restaurant/Bar it delivers delicacies like: Lemongrass Chicken, Crispy Red Snapper. Grilled Branzino and such.....I opted for the following trio........Beef Noodle Soup, Vietnamese Seafood Bouillabaisse and the 'Le Colonial' cocktail (a tequila concoction). Le Colonial serves epicurean food in a exquisite atmosphere.

Great Service - amazing dinner!!
Read about the site in NYT and bought a reservation at Mother Wolf in LA 2 days later. Worked great and the food was amazing!!!
Worked perfectly!
Got the reservation (that I couldn't get anywhere else) and was able to entertain a group of friends at the infamous Bern's Steakhouse.
Got into Nobu Malibu
Wonderful! My parents are visiting and we have wanted to go to Nobu Malibu for years. I tried getting a reservation myself but it was next to impossible. So glad I was able to buy a reservation on appointment trader for a decent price!
Very easy
Was very hesitant going into this experience but am glad to say that it worked out very well ! will definitely use appointment trader in the future
Fabulous Lunch
I was veeeeeerry skeptical that this would work, particularly at a restaurant as hard to get into as Nobu Malibu, and it was perfect! We had lunch outside on the patio and it was fabulous!
Great reviewer team
Just wanted to take a second to shout out the reviewer team. Even though they probably review hundreds of listings and bids a day, they still take the time to leave great comments and respond relatively quickly. Thanks!
Incredible
I got a reservation to Don Angie, which I've been trying to book for weeks! I am very happy with this service.
Best platform out there!
Super simple, easy, and fast to secure reservations for hard-to-get restaurants and locations!

Worked well, got me into a restaurant with no availability
I was skeptical, and I still don't really know how they managed to find this hard-to-find reservation, but it was a win-win from my point of view, and I'll use this service again.
Last minute reservation for Delilah Las Vegas
Got a last minute reservation, dinner for 2 at Delilah Las Vegas: super impressed! The process was simple, transaction seamless. We had an amazing time! Couldn’t be happier! 😍
It works!
Ok at this point I've attended a reservation purchased on AT by a friend and sold a reservation personally. Both worked pretty smoothly, nothing sketchy about it. A few areas for improvement including a way to more directly communicate between buyers and sellers, but the app always seems to be in development. AT customer support is really(!) responsive and helpful too if you have questions!
Money transfer
As a seller, I like the fact i have the ability now to transfer money out of my AT account and into a bank account. Makes getting the money much easier then the process before.
Love this app
Got to go to places otherwise unreachable
Easy Access
Very easy to get into one of the hardest restaurants to reserve in New York.
Whose name will my reservation be under when I arrive at the venue?
It can be under your name or a name you choose! Some reservation offers already include the AppointmentTrader Transfer Service which will transfer the reservation in to your name. If its not included you can add it on after buying the reservation for a small fee. One thing on that though: As many reservations become available at last minute, taking a reservation in someone else name is quick and great for privacy. Most reservations on AT are listed with a virtual phone number, so all you need to do is present the phone number at the hostess stand and you are good to go!
Payouts Blocked Because of Sell Through Rate
Does anyone know how AT plans to handle cases where a seller is quitting the platform but has a sell through rate <25%? The error message I got said to fill more bids or find other ways to increase the rate.
Is AT really going to block sellers from withdrawing their money? Especially revenue made before the sell through rate was introduced??

I will give you 50% of ALL of my PROFITS if you teach me how to make profits?
LOL. Thank you The New Yorker.
Appointment
Transferring reservations is not supported in AT. Why not just use the name in the AT screenshot?
Buyers interested in Bern's Steakhouse: PLEASE READ
Same goes for 4 Charles and I Sodi
Prepaid Reservation Fee
Agreed. Ultimately not addressing this month after month is clearly resulting in a drop in certain venue’s rankings & sales.
Congrats on 3 mil
🍾🍾🍾🍾🍾🍾🧨🧨🧨 now on to 30 mill!
Need to cancel a bid, not getting a response… how do I do it?
Click on "Take off the Market Option" in your portfolio
Working on your bid?
Your bid has been “matched” with a reservation. From the time a reservation has been located, the seller of the reservation must connect with moderator to give transfer information for reservation. If the seller;however, does NOT respond to reservation transfer, then your bid is reprocessed and returns to the first step, which is connecting your request to a reservation.
Process after bid is accepted.
Hey @EvocativeFold67, welcome to appointmenttrader! Once the reservation is in your portfolio, you definitely own the timeslot, the review team would not have approved the trade if the reservation wasn't confirmed - so you are going :-) Judging from your post you bid today and are going tomorrow - don't worry as long as you initiated the name transfer, you are good - the transfer service has to work with the opening hours of the reservation team of the respective venue. You will likely see the transfer confirmation a couple hours before your reservation time.
Where do the Reservations on AppointmentTrader come from?
Mostly from people who don't need their reservations or appointments any longer. AT has no relationship with places listed and acts as a platform connecting buyers and sellers making sure that listed reservations are real and that privacy is not compromised when transacting.
What happens if my bid expires unanswered?
Hey @FluffyStar64, thanks for the question! When you place your bid the amount gets transferred in a deposit account, the second you either cancel your bid or a few minutes after the bid expires the funds are moved back into your main account from where you can refund it to your payment method or use for other transactions.
