One of the best dinners we’ve had. Amazing food and excellent ambience and service
What a sublime and absolutely fantastic dining experience, from the food to the service and ambience. My partner and I visited this restaurant and this was one of the top highlights of our Paris trip. Food was absolutely outstanding, refined, but so packed full of flavor and texture. We took the 7 plates course and each plate just continually got better and better. We were absolutely wowed. Great crew as well with very attentive, proactive and casual service and great energy. Great wine list too. We’ve been to several Michelin restaurants and this is hands down one of the best restaurants we’ve ever been, and by far the most value. I can give my highest recommendations to Le Bistrot Flaubert!
Be the first to ReplyExcellent lunch
the Bistrot is near the Marche Poncelet and ideal for lunch (presumably also for dinner). We had the day's suggestion and loved the meal's creativity and charm of the service. We were served starter / lunch / dessert in one hour, so it fits perfectly in a work day (or day of ambitious shopping).

We had an amazing tasting menu here. The restaurant setting was ideal, and while the dinner was longer than our teens would have liked the experience overall was five stars
Be the first to ReplyA culinary delight and surprise in equal measures!
Bistrot Flaubert is named after the delightful and pretty little, elegant side street of a chique Parisienne neighbourhood, it is located in: 'Le Bistrot d'a cote Flaubert' - as it states on their card (10, rue Goustave Flaubert - 75017 Paris). Although, the food is described on their website as 'Korean influenced French', which - I will be honest here - slightly frightened me, having never been in Korea and having only heard of kimchi and fried chicken - both of which I am a moderate fan of. However, I was proven totally WRONG, to my absolute delight!! The seven-course menu, which I absolutely recommend to choose, was one of the most exciting set of culinary delights, I have experienced in years - during my extensive restaurant visits around the globe, very much including several food capitals of the world. Bistro Flaubert proved to me that Paris remains the centre of the culinary world, or at least: Bistro Flaubert is! The seven dishes were all a gastronomic delight without exception! Entering the premises, which I believe must’ve been a charming little local grocery shop in its previous life, reminiscent of which, thankfully were kept by the present owner of the place, we are seated at charming Parisienne tables, in front of an array of vine bottles around the shelves, beautifully decorating the place. There are two wonderful waiters who serve you all evening tirelessly, working incredibly hard bringing us the SEVEN dishes, with ever changing cutleries! Quite a job - but they do it with tremendous speed and efficiency all evening! The menu they hand you only reveals that you can have five dishes for EUR 60, or seven dishes for EUR 70, but there is a vegetarian option, too. We are not vegetarian, and thankfully opted for the seven course one because one dish was better than the other and the gorgeous, delightful dishes just kept coming all evening! I cannot even tell you which one was my favorite because ALL seven dishes were equally exciting, innovative, complex and an absolute delight on our taste buds! The chef(s) created such a series of wonderful menu items, you just keep getting more and more excited as one follows after the other! The intriguing amuse bouche (which is not even part of the seven!)- is followed by the first of the many fantastic starter dishes: a pretty sea urchin item, surrounded by several wonderful small surprises, such as scamorza cheese foam, dancing on your tongue, wanting even more! The dishes are all designed in taste and size to happily accommodate your stomach capacity, filling it but not overcrowding it, during the course of the three hours you will spend at Flaubert's - enjoying your meal you will never forget, trust me - for very good reasons! The second exciting course was even more interesting - if possible - than the first: a gorgeous mushroom concoction which will excite and delight in equal measures - a dish I never heard or seen before - but it just made it even more desirable! This was the only one where I seemed to have spotted an element of Korean influence, but I might be wrong: however, what is absolutely true is, that it was a culinary delight!! The mushroom, in a cylinder shape is coated with a gorgeous sauce I could eat a bucket of, if offered, and stuffed with a incredibly tasty mushroom based filling! Yes, please, Sir - can I have even more? Best not, however - because we have five more - equally gorgeous things to admire and taste - and one is better than the other six, so patience dear guest - enjoy your second starter and just carry on enjoying your evening! Chef’s next creation was an incredible raviolo - stuffed with beetroot-based items, tasting wonderful. Next, we opted for the rabbit, which might sound alarming for some - but believe you me - was the most tender piece of most delicate meat you wish for, surrounded by the best sauce I ever, ever had in my life! If you happen to be squeamish about unusual meat items, such as the sweet little 'bunny', fear not, as you can opt for the equally delicious looking duck, and you will still have the same incredible sauce - which was frankly to die for! Just when you think, you are ready for your dessert you are surprised still further by two more exciting dishes, one after the other . First, a Jerusalem artichoke based dish, with ice cream and beignet - the little doughnuty item, which you want a dozen of - combined with marmalade and crisps, dancing on your tongue. I was already happy, thinking that was my dessert but I was mistaken, as by this stage I lost count of the many delights I have consumed that evening, and was surprised, when yet another set of cutlery arrived at my table. This was the preparation for a chocolate delight, which was out of this world, topped in the end with a little surprise of aniseed based item, to go along with one’s coffee. The table next to us was better organized than we were, and started their meal with Flaubert’s own cocktail: called 'Negroni' - followed by a bottle of red, and for her a lovey glass of delicious white. After their meal, they had a wonderful choice of three digestive drinks, one looking better than the other. I would suggest, if you are someone who enjoys accompanying drinks,, definitely ask for these, as they seemed to have complimented every part of our dinner perfectly. As it is, I was happy with what I had (a kir Royal) - with mine, but I am more of a foody person, admittedly, than an expert of drinks. I can only summarize the evening one way - as my delightful French neighbours at the next table put it - this seven part culinary delight this evening was EXTRAORDINAIRE!!!! The best and only way of describing it!!! Had I lived in Paris, I would be here at a very regular pace, at least once a month, if not more often. As it is, I can only say, as soon as I visit Paris again - I will most certainly start my plans by booking a table at this little but perfectly formed establishment, even before booking my Eurostar ticket! I would not miss Bistro Flaubert for the world as it delighted and surprised us in equal measures during our pre-xmas stay in Paris, with their exceptional, imaginative, complex, exciting meal, charming environment and extraordinarily good quality service all evening! Thank you! A bientot!!!!!

This was by far the best meal of our trip. We had eaten at SEPTIME with high expectations days prior, but this meal surpassed our expectations and was far better than any other meal in Paris. We had the opportunity to meet the chef and he shared his journey a bit with us and was incredibly modest and humble, which made us love the meal even more. Please don’t pass up a chance to eat here - it’s worth your time and appetite.

Original and delicious food - French with a Korean influence. Wonderful decor. Friendly staff. Made for a great evening! Merci.
Be the first to ReplyA wonderful holiday dinner stop
I was in Paris for the holidays, and after a day of shopping, Le Bisrot Flaubert was a lovely stop (reservations of course) While the restaurant is small... that just adds to the ambiance. Being able to view what is going on in the kitchen is always fun!
The staff was wonderful, especially Ly Seng! He was professional but welcoming, friendly and attentive!
The menu was intentional and flavored. From the cod dish to the pork dish the food was wonderful. The chocolate dessert was one of the BEST I have ever had!
I would not only recommend the restaurant, I hope to visit again as well!
Great birthday dinner
My friends and I had a great birthday dinner party here. Before we were allowed to order, the entire party had to prove vaccination status. For most of us, this was the NHS app generate QR code.
The wine selection was great, and while the menu was relatively short, the food was done very well. My friends particularly enjoyed their scallop entrée, literally wiped the plate clean with bread!
The only downside was probably how hot it got, but opening the front door would have let all the freezing air outside in. The bistro is quite small so chatter can really build, but it seems like everyone has a good time. The noise contributed to one of our orders being mixed up ('pork'/'pollack') but the mistake was quickly rectified.
When it came time to sing Happy Birthday to our friend, the entire bistro joined in -- so nice of everyone!
