Visited this past Saturday from McAllen.
Food was delicious but service not so much. Our waiter was young and had to be after him for water and check. Maybe a little more care for clients, will not be going back for a while.
Be the first to ReplyIt was a valentines day rip off to say the least.
120 bucks per person for a limited menu. I was charged 240.00 bucks for 152.00 bucks of food off the regular menu. drinks were separate charge. these people are gouging the customers big time. this was at the Brownsville, TX location. 02/14/24
Be the first to ReplyMy Lomo Alto was tough as nails.
What a shame considering I've eaten the ribeye 10 x's.

La Pampa is a must have! This is our third year in a row making this a part of our vacation plans, and it was better this year than we remember. The atmosphere is perfect for a romantic dinner. Reservations are best, but they've worked us in even without one. Be prepared to spend some money but I promise it's worth it. The pate that comes with the bread is so good. The bread is a soft crumb sourdough baked to perfection. Every year we start with the octopus appetizer and it was the perfect blend of tender, butter, charred and delicious. We have also ordered the bone marrow and I would definitely recommend that as well. All three years we have ordered the parradilla Argentina which is a meat platter. It was seasoned just right, and we recommend ordering a cup of the basil cream soup to go with it. The soup provides a freshness and acts as a palate cleanser between bites of delicious grilled meats! I have also ordered the lamb in past visits and it was cooked just right and delicious. We end the meal every year with the fried ice cream (helado frito) that has a raspberry sauce. It is so good. Every one should come here!! We don't drink alcohol, so I don't have insight on their drink menu. But service is professional, attentive, and helpful.

I recently dined at La Pampa and unfortunately, the experience left much to be desired. My spouse and I were seeking an intimate and refined dining experience, but the restaurant fell far short of our expectations. Despite the fact that only a few tables were occupied, it took an excessive amount of time for a server to provide us with menus. To make matters worse, our steaks were overcooked, resulting in a unsatisfying meal. The server displayed a lack of attentiveness. Throughout the evening, there was a boisterous and disruptive party that detracted from our ability to enjoy the ambiance. Despite multiple complaints from guests, including ourselves, the restaurant took no action to address the issue. It was sad to discover that there was no manager present to handle such matters. In an attempt to rectify the situation, I requested to speak with the manager, but our server failed to make any accommodations or demonstrate any professionalism. Regrettably, the meal was overpriced and did not meet the standards we had hoped for. 0 stars from us
Be the first to ReplyArgentinian steak houses.
The only one south of McAllen. Great food, cocktails and service. Sister restaurant to Madeira.
Be the first to ReplyLa Pampa was a big fat no for me.
Extremely overpriced with underwhelming wine, food, and service. My friend and I came here for dinner while we were in Brownsville for work. It was recommended to me by a local but ended up being the biggest disappointment of the trip.We entered and were seated immediately as it wasn't too busy on a weekday night. Our server greeted us with water and then returned what felt like every 2-3 minutes to see if we were ready to order. My friend and I were catching up and by the third time, we really felt rushed and mentioned that to the server. It wasn't pleasant. We ordered glasses of wine which were fine. Bread and butter arrived to accompany our beverages. I enjoy when restaurants provide complimentary snacks. Who doesn't?Eventually, my friend ordered the shrimp fettuccine and I ordered the 12 oz rib eye. Both sound really promising. But once we received our food, we were extremely underwhelmed. Actually, the amount of salt in the shrimp fettuccine was OVERwhelming. My rib eye was not seasoned well at all and the salad that came with it was lame. The best thing about this meal was the bread. For the high price, pushy service, and lackluster food, I will absolutely not be returning or recommending.
Be the first to ReplyHusband ordered the skirt steak.
We were given spoiled meat. You could taste it with the first bite. Really gross. I ordered the boneless chicken with sautéed veggies. Chicken had bones in it. Husband ordered a margarita on the rocks and that was also gross. Same with the previous time we went, margarita was gross. I thought maybe it was just us, but no, other tables that left had their drinks still there with an almost full cup. Do NOT recommend.
Be the first to ReplyIt was my first visiting this establishment.
Very nice restaurant, from hostess- servers everyone was so friendly and attentive. My dinner date and I ordered an appetizer which we shared, and for our dinner entree we shared an 18oz. Ribeye steak with a salad. I highly recommend this restaurant for a special occasion with your significant other.Definitely going back to try something different on a separate occasion.

Our very first time here, so excited that we finally found a a place where the food was awesome & service. We loved the service! Love how they're all bilingual!! The food was amazing! I definitely recommend this place. I wish they had more options for sides.

Steak with an experience! The steak was cut and served at our tableside. Server was great. Will definitely return in the future.

We ran to "town" for shopping and decided to stop into La Pampa to try something new. While it was a bit tricky figuring out where the entrance was located, once inside we could not be happier. The interior is beautiful with authentic art and nice solid furniture. Our meal was delicious and reasonable. The portions are large and delicious! Our server was kind and helpful (we had our 2 year old). We highly recommend this restaurant for a quiet and high end, lunch time experience.
Be the first to ReplyExcellent service.
Meats might need some additional seasoning/salt. Empanadas and tortilla española highly recommended. Highly recommended.

I'll start by saying that without question, for a year I ate at La Pampa three or four times a week when they were in McAllen (about 11 years ago). I used to LOVE this place. They had the best steak I've eaten outside of Argentina!!Today, I'm giving them three stars and I'm being generous.. It's a little heart breaking for me.The ambiance is okay. Nothing even close to what it used to be. Before, with the way it was decorated, it always felt like we were on a trip through a cattle ranch in the Pampa region. Now, it seems like they're not allowed to decorate aside from a few branding irons. The location, inside and out, is definitely a step down from their McAllen location. I felt the seating was a bit crammed. The jugo de carne is practically the first somewhat-solid thing babies eat in Argentina. I absolutely loved theirs back in the day, but their current one tasted like it came out of a packet. It didn't even have bits of meat in it.My arrachera was cooked just right and it tasted good, but not any better or worse than any other skirt steak anywhere else. My wife's churrasco was cooked perfect, but had no taste at all. I can't tell you how pissed she was, since she agreed to take this 2,500 mile trip to Texas with me, partly because we found out La Pampa was still open...
Be the first to ReplyThe good.
The staff was very nice and the ambiance was great. Our waiter was very polite and nice. The food took a while to come but for made to order food it was about what I expected. The bone marrow was great and the chimichurri was some of the best I have had. The not so good.Value was poor. I have eaten at plenty of hole in the wall Argentine places that had the same quality of meat for about a quarter the price. I ordered the mixed meat plate. The Molliejas were great. They neglected to tell me they were out of morcilla which I was really looking forward to and I got average sausage on the plate instead. The chicken was very dry but flavored well. The ribs and skirt steak were pretty average quality but good. Our bill came to 117 dollars and we probably won't be back. I really wanted to like the place but value was very poor.
Be the first to ReplyThey don't have rye.
They can't make a Manhattan, don't know how to make a Boulevardier, then charge you $20 for a watered-down mess of a classic cocktail. They tell you a steak is medium rare when it's medium well. Next attempt, they tell you a steak is medium rare when it's cold and bloody. This is allegedly a fine dining steakhouse, but it's a poor show, and you should never order steak here. If you're going to spend money and eat well, go to Madeira. Just wasted a birthday here.
Be the first to ReplyThis is an elegant and special place to dine.
Try the sirloin special for your table with grilled vegetables, amazing bread, salad, and steak fries; excellent!
Be the first to ReplyMaybe it was an off day.
Is mozzarella supposed to be hard like cheddar? the Caprese salad certainly thinks so. Not recommended. 16oz NY strip rare and blackened was neither blackened or rare. Sent back and did not wait for them to retry. Friends ribeye looked like something from a small town diner. Think yellow sign with 24 hour service. 1/2 inch thick and cooked to death. Maybe if you are from this area you consider this quality. Bone marrow was great. But that would not make me come back. I'd not recommend or ever come back here. A major fast food chain is better and more affordable. Wow! Nice crowd but I question their taste choice of food. See and to be seen. Nothing else. Stay away.
Be the first to ReplyWent for a birthday dinner.
Disappointed with my meal. I order the 10 oz beef tenderloin with salad. The salad was 4 piece of spinach and little green lettuce with white onions and two huge tomatoes slices. The size of the meat look more of an 8oz (hence meat does shrink) didn't look appetizing. I rather spend my coins at Texas de Brazil.
Be the first to ReplyGreat restaurant, we were not disappointed.
We tried the Camarones Pampa, Ensalada Pampa, Crema De Esparragos and Arrachera. They also serve fresh baked bread with a variety of spreads- so good!!! Everything was delicious, well-prepared/cooked. The service was excellent. Loved the ambiance and the cocktails were also amazing. Definitely recommend.

I get the same thing every time I come here and it is delicious every time! It is the special salad that has artichoke hearts and hearts of palms and the Camerones La Pampa. They use extra large Gulf shrimp and are cooked in butter with garlic. Now I know I should be having the tenderloin, but to me, nothing beats these shrimp!
