We ate here before heading to the United Center for an event. We had a great table on the patio and had a very attentive waitress. The margaritas, guacamole and tacos were all excellent. The tacos had a substantial amount of meat in them, which you often don't find at other restaurants. The only negative was they overcharged us on our bill, but the manager came over and acknowledged the issue and would take care of it. The pollo a la parilla salad was VERY spicy.

Fantastic meal and drinks in the heart of West loop. Amazing mole and mezcal drinks. Didn't even realize it was Michelin rated until after our meal but not surprised. Place is bigger than it looks with 2 awesome bars and a roof top
Be the first to ReplyWonderful lunch full of flavor!
Enjoyed a Restaurant week 3 course lunch on a wintery day. Delicious! And our server was wonderful. Lovely restaurant on bustling Randolph street.
Be the first to ReplyGood for drinks and apps
this is more of a bar than restaurant in my opinion. Good place for drinks and appetizers. If you are hungry this is not the place for you. portions are very small.
Be the first to ReplyGreat food and excellent service
We walked in off the street on a very busy Wednesday. We got the last 3 seats which were on the upper deck open area at the bar. Lovely knowledgeable barman on drinks and food. All traditional Mexican food - not tex mex so don't expect sour cream with your tortillas. Sensible portion sizes and all very tasty. 3 of us had the triple guacamole and then some filled tacos, plus deserts. Oh and a great choice of magharitas and then mescales. So it isnt cheap food but honestly, if you want well cooked tasty food, served in a timely, not rushed manner this is the place. Its easy to get giant portions of tasteless stuff elsewhere but why bother ? Eat well and pay appropriately.

Picked the rooftop and it was fab. From the vibe to our sever Eric who was knowledgable and friendly and amazing food this one is an absolute must must do. Try their mescal flight and the mixed seafood it was unreal as was the ceviche
Be the first to ReplySuper expensive and small portions
Food looks great and taste good but nothing that justifies its price
Nothing special and extremely pricey!
We had 2 appetizers, 3 tacos and 1 margarita - we spent $150
Bartender kept pushing people to consume drinks and at the end he was kinda rushing us to pay and leave
I don’t recommend this place
Great cocktails and tacos!
Nice atmosphere. Great cocktails and lovely tacos! And, it's often easier to sit at the bar even when many of the restaurants on Randolph are packed!
Be the first to ReplyStuffy staff not at all friendly. Food fair at best. Overpriced
Stuffy staff not at all friendly. Hostess treated us like dirt. Server took drink orders and wanted main courses, pushed us. Chips were cold, very small portions of salsa. Asked to try verde. Given about 1/2 ounce charged $2.00. Margarita were ordered light ice. Ice overfilled glass. Had to ask server 3 times for water. Over priced really not good. Fancy. But they forgot to add flavor.
Be the first to ReplyGreat (but very loud) place
Pretty crowded place. Roof terrace was nice and food was good too, very loud inside tho. Table service was OK
Be the first to ReplyGreat for Girls Night
Girlfriends and I went to La Josie for happy hour and dinner. Margaritas were excellent. Ordered salsa trio, guacamole and queso fondido as appetizers and lobster tacos, carne asada tacos and pork belly tacos to share for dinner. All were excellent. The vibe was great. I can’t wait to return.
Be the first to ReplyQuick late lunch for 9 people
The family stopped here for a light lunch while in the neighbourhood. There were 4 kids and 5 adults and the restaurant was able to seat us right away.
The service was great, the food was served hot and fresh and was very tasty.
A great place for authentic Mexican food quick and tasty in Chicago!
Great Mexcian
Suggested by concierge. Excellent choice. Very busy and loud. Hip place with a younger crowd...seemed to be a lot of locals. Food was amazing with so much flavor. Chile relleno with chicken added was delicious as well as the enchiladas. Would highly recommend this for Mexican while visiting Chicago. Lots of other bars and restaurants along Randolph St and side streets in this West Loop area.
Be the first to ReplyFood is amazing and authentic but....
This is a place with the most amazing and authentic Mexican food i have tried (the food is awesome even in Mexico), with music that is to loud for a restaurant and servers that reminds you of a roof top bar. La Josie it's a restaurant that "feels" like a bar, that don't have all the "bar" features and that aparently pretends to be a Hypster roof top, and that in my opinion ends up being a confusing place with no strong identity.
But if honest and authentic Mexican food is what you want, La Josie is it...I had Tacos, Tampiquena and Margarita and wow, it was great.
