La Colombina Venezia Reviews from The Last Year
A very nice restaurant
Very nice restaurant. Everything was perfect from the antipasti to desert and the service was very efficient and friendly. The outdoor patio is very private and quiet. What a lovely evening e had
Beautiful looking, tasty and interesting dishes. Pleasant ambiance, attentive staff.
We ate there twice, a second time the 7 course menu (fish) (72 euros total). Actually, everything was fine. First time bean soup (delicious even in warmer weather) and a delicious chocolate dessert with muscat wine. The sea bass and scallops are also worth trying. Nice wines too.
Authentic Venetian cuisine with good value for money
La Colombina is certainly one of the best restaurants in Venice. You will receive very warm service and careful advice. The special thing about this restaurant is the Venetian-style tapas. There are a total of 14 different, particularly fish-based, particularly aromatic starters. Each is prepared like a small work of art and tastes completely different from its neighbors. For the main course we opted for the Risotto d'infusi d'oriente, a risotto with cuttlefish that can only be described as heavenly. For dessert we tried composts die Miele and pannacotta Vanilla, both also excellent. The wine list leaves nothing to be desired in terms of Italian wines, with regional wines from Venus being particularly prominent. Overall an absolute pleasure, wonderful delicate flavors and just a really cozy place to eat
Delicious hidden gem!
Family run gem of a restaurant! The food was amazing! The scallops were perfection, and the monkfish cheeks were *chef’s kiss*. If I’m ever in Venice again I will definitely be back.
Top notch italian fare
Hidden gem slightly tucked away . Don't miss this beautiful place to dine. We started with the 6 pz appetizer and a paired red wine. A tuna in cold zucchini sauce, pickled onion and raisin with sardine , fried artichoke in pepper sauce (all delicious) . Our mains : my wife had the ravioletti w spinach (vegetarian) in a tomato sauce mascarpne cheese. Absolutely superb creamy and perfectly seasoned I had the fowl dish with a gravy and stuffed veggies served hot spinach and nuts . The polenta was unbelievably tasty and cooked 10/10 Would highly recommend. They are concerned with your satisfaction and provided great service as well . Thank you -miguelino y nicolina di California <3
Great restaurant. Delicious food. Super service
This restaurant was recommended to us by stuff at the hotel we stayed at. I can see why. It’s so sweet and original with a personal touch and the food is delicious. I would definitely recommend it and return here in future
Dinner at a starred restaurant
We had dinner at this restaurant on New Year's Eve. Excellent dishes, from cicchetti to sea bass, care in service with change of cutlery after each course. Truly spectacular cuttlefish ink risotto, but in general each dish is very well prepared and tasty. The cicchetti were also very good, nothing to complain about any dish. Perhaps the dessert is not on the same level as the other courses but it cannot influence the rating which is certainly 5 stars. The only discordant note is perhaps the ambience, a bit "old" and perhaps it could do with a bit of renovation and a bit of rejuvenation, in addition to the fact that as it was New Year's Eve it was packed and we were very close to the other tables but it is understandable given the particular evening. Very attentive service, certainly 5 star, 5+ food, and bill proportionate to the quality of the dishes, also considering the particularity of the day.
Delicious not typical
This restaurant was recommended by our hotel....it was a rainy night and I really loved the pasta e fagoli. Interesting twist: drizzle of balsamic vinegar and chopped radicchio...wow. Then the monk fish cheeks in a lemon zest sauce over mashed potatoes. The portion was large...one piece was a little chewy, but the other were tender and delicious. Pannacotta finished off the meal...I was very full!
Don’t believe the hype!!
We obviously caught the restaurant on a bad evening, I fail to see how it’s rated so highly. The food was mediocre at best, the wine selection and sommelier were excellent though. Try for yourself but it comes highly recommended but it but it certainly didn’t live up to our expectation.
Too valued
First of all, I would highlight the friendliness of the waiters. The cuisine seems to me to be not at the level of a Michelin recommendation by any means. As starters we ordered a cicchetti tasting (meatball, shrimp with leek and pine nuts, tortellini and salted cod) none of which were worth it. Monkfish with capers and undercooked puree and soggy vinegar sauce. The seafood pasta is very normal. They charge for cover and the atmosphere is as if you were at grandma's house. Of course, the manager was lovely.
Absolutely a "tremendous discovery" close to our hotel!
Absolutely a "tremendous discovery" close to our hotel! Lovely family restaurant in terms of beauty and charm but what really is special was the food. The best branzino I have every had. We also chose several of the tapas, small plates. Each one was Devine. Yes, all the food was so extraordinary, until I chose the tiramisu and the pana cota. Honestly, these were the most delicious desserts I could have every wanted. I know I am in Italy. I know tiramisu is special in Venice, but I never imagined how good these desserts can be! Go here if you can. You will lover every minute of you experience! Cheers!!
Really wonderful place that we couldn't believe was not
Really wonderful place that we couldn't believe was not packed on a Friday night in July. Food, service and ambiance all get five stars from me. From the reservation process to paying the bill, La Columbina knows how to operate a high end restaurant. The restaurant is in an alley off of Strada Nuevo in Cannaregio and has a spacious little courtyard to itself for Al fresco dining without the hot sun in the summertime. Staff was well dressed, service oriented and all spoke English well. I believe the owner came out to help with our order as I had let her know that we had food allergies in our party when making the reservation weeks prior. The kitchen did more than make us confident they could handle it, they made custom dishes for my son (including a special loaf of bread that was free of his allergens - dairy and nuts). They even allowed the rest of us to order the tasting menu at our table (when they usually only allow tasting menus for the whole table). I have found Venetian restaurants to be accommodating to food allergies, but this was above and beyond. We had the Mare (seafood) menu. The food was simply outstanding. Every dish was prepared and presented with care from the amuse bouche (chilled tomato soup) to the tiramisu for dessert. The scallop au gratin, squid ink risotto, gnocchi with crab sauce, and seabass wrapped in zucchini were all delicious. I want to have that gnocchi again already! They elevated traditional Venetian specialties without going over the top. I will say that the portions were a little large for a five course menu. All the dishes appeared to be full sized, which made it a LOT to finish all of them. That's a first world problem though! They offer wine pairings at very fair prices - including Coravin stored premium wines by the glass. I wanted a very local wine and purchased a bottle instead of doing pairings. La Columbina happened to be a five minute walk from my accommodations, but it's worth a visit no matter where you are staying in Venice (or even as a reason to go). I still cannot believe how fair the pricing was for the tasting menu (66€ for five courses that would have been close to 95€ a la carte). For an experience this good, you owe it to yourself to visit this restaurant. I visited another highly recommended and widely publicized restaurant in Venice east of St Mark's Square. This place was significantly better. They certainly deserve their long-standing Michelin recognition. I cannot recommend this place enough!

Mostly from people who don't need their reservations or appointments any longer. AT has no relationship with places listed and acts as a platform connecting buyers and sellers making sure that listed reservations are real and that privacy is not compromised when transacting.

Can come from a lot of places, people who don't want to get charged their cancellation fee or people who just have them and cant go.

almost all restaurants aren't affiliated with AT and I'm guessing it's mostly people wanting to not pay cancellation fees.
