Knife & Spoon Orlando Reviews from The Last Year
Incredible dining experience! We decided to check out this
Incredible dining experience! We decided to check out this restaurant during our stay for the weekend. This is probably our favorite restaurant in Orlando. The ambience at the entrance is very relaxing with unique and beautiful decoration. We had a reservation later in the night, but they were able to sit us a little early which was appreciated as we were very hungry. As soon as we entered, we were introduced to our waiters and as they have a system where several people have one section together, we had a chance to meet all three. They did an impressive job I must say. Everyone was very attentive and knowledgeable of the menu. The overall experience is very professional. But of course, the highlight of the evening was the food. I ordered the ravioli while my boyfriend ordered the Bolognese. We had an appetizer of burrata salad which was delicious. We also ordered the sides of mushrooms as well as the kimchi spinach. The spinach was out of this world. It was perfectly spicy, and not overwhelming. All of the food was absolutely incredible. Very well balanced with stunning presentation. I wish I knew the more appropriate terminology to use as this was a very high-level meal that deserves better verbiage, but overall just know, you will not be disappointed. We spoke to the Chef whose name is Luke, who was very friendly and gracious. Overall, incredible experience and highly recommended. We are shocked to learn that they didn't earn their Michelin star again this year around, which was a surprise, considering that the quality of the food and service has only gotten better since their first year where they did have the Michelin star. If it were up to me, the star would have been granted. Don't hesitate to stop in when you visit.

As I lay on my king sized mattress atop the eighth floor of the Ritz, a quench comes over me. Pajamas and all, I ride the elevator down to the lobby in search of drink. I come upon weaving neon lights reminiscent of a flood lit racing circuit. As I meander into the restaurant, I'm guided to the bar by the hostess. Once sat, I glaze over the menu and finally order after much thought. After some small talk with the bartender, I am presented with a fragrant and thoughtfully made cocktail. Splendid. - Lou Sassle
The service was great here.
All of our servers were on top of it. we were immediately greeted at the door with our tables and right when we got to our table, we already had water sitting at our seats and menus distributed by chairs. when we ordered, we had bread service come with three different types of breads, and they were all wonderful. This place has the perfect mix of bougie and fancy. our server helped us like we were the king of the world like his life for in our hands also, we had about six different servers and they each helped us out in a pretty strong way. if you ever stop by Orlando Florida, you should come here 10 out of 10.
This was my first ever Michelin Star experience and I have
This was my first ever Michelin Star experience and I have to say it did not disappoint. We ate here on a Saturday night. We did have a reservation but it was not crowded at all with plenty of tables and space at the bar. The atmosphere was beautiful and the service was phenomenal. All staff we interacted with was so knowledgeable and very polite. We started with the charred octopus, which was out of this world. For entrees we got the chicken dish as well as the catch of the day which was a halibut. The chicken was a little fatty, but the flavors were amazing. The fish melted in your mouth but had a crispy crust, cooked to perfection. For desert we got the assorted cheese dish, unless you are a huge cheese fan this could probably be skipped. The other desserts looked quite small. Of course dishes were expensive, but truly everything was absolutely delicious.
An upscale restaurant' my first Michelin restaurant
An upscale restaurant' my first Michelin restaurant experience. The place is in Ritz Carlton. The staff is well trained to give you that five star experience. My husband's fish dish was amazing. I did not like mine so much(I took the halibut) it was a little bland for me. Very clean, spacious and good for all age groups. Would recommend this place if you want to experience something special.
Almost 5 star plus.
Bar was too crowded to get a drink (like most Ritz-Carlton's). Restaurant full and quite loud with very open seating. Very comfortable. Excellent service. Great menu. Hamachi appetizer was phenom: Caesar salad was very disappointing. Two large flat crostini's with a couple of romaine leaves. A ton of Parmesan and 2 specs of anchovy. More crostini than actual lettuce. Too artsy / give me a salad! Whole snapper was terrific. 10oz filet very tender, perfectly cooked - very, very bland. No char. No salt. No seasoning it seeemed at all. Mac and cheese was very creamy. Pasta was soft/mushy. No where near as good as Eddie Vs. Veg medley was good. Good meal. Not excellent. We'll come back. Lots of more menu items to try. Sure miss Norman's.
Wow the service here is next level.
I've never been to a Michelin star restaurant before but it was definitely worth the visit for my birthday. Everything was surprisingly delicious and we left extremely full. I will say the ravioli and chicken were also flavorful! If you're looking to do something special then make a reservation asap!
When visiting a Michelin star rated restaurant one should
When visiting a Michelin star rated restaurant one should expect to have their socks blown off. I've come to realize that's an erroneous expectation as I've had a few misses. Knife and Spoon was one of them. While I will start by saying that our staff was out of this world!! Both Cain and Jesus did an amazing job and taking care of us and our little girls who joined us for dinner. The food was decent, nothing to boast about. I ordered the oysters which were good but the mignonette lacked flavor. I also had a medium rare Australian Wagyu filet, the temp was executed but the steak had no crust and texturally is it failed. Drinks were decent but service was really the only thing that impressed me.
I get why you lost the star.
Nice people. Service wasn't perfect. Sorry to say your food is way over salted. Bread service room temp and doughy. Please correct. Wine list is overpriced even by Ritz standards. And your staff doesn't know about anything other wine bottles if they are not by the glass. They don't pay attention to the needs of the guest. You are trying way too hard to try to be different in flavor . You have great ingredients that you are over doing the salt and flavors for. Dial it back educate your staff

I visited Knife & Spoon while at a conference that was being held at the Ritz-Carlton. Needless to say, the restaurant was in high demand, and I can see why! We enjoyed steak tartare, hamachi, the filet and the porter house, all prepared to perfection. The servers were incredibly attentive, and wonderful at guiding us through the wine list. The restaurant itself was lovely, good vibe. I would absolutely recommend.
Amazing restaurant!
We were staying at the Ritz for an anniversary weekend. Fortunately, one of few Florida Michelin starred restaurants was right there on the property. The whole vibe is bohemian/coastal, very contemporary. The restaurant was absolutely an incredible experience from start to finish. The excellent to details is spot on. Our table was decorated to celebrate our anniversary. They deliver a complimentary amuse bouche which this evening was a cucumber and pineapple soup? Being a bread snob, I love love loved the bread service experience. We ordered the filet and ribeye with mac and cheese and side of mushrooms. The entrees were very good. My filet was delicious and my husband's ribeye was very good...was it worth $185, sadly no. To me the restaurant was slightly overpriced but I understand. What really elevated this restaurant for me was the experience and treatment we received for our anniversary. We received a complimentary dessert with caramel popcorn topped with gold leaf, complimentary glasses of champagne and a box of macarons.
Food better than the experience
The food was really good as is the wine list. We all enjoyed our various entrees including steaks. We thought the sides were average while the salads were excellent. However it’s impossible to have a conversation without shouting. We had a party of 6 and it was not fun. The restaurant reverberates noise. We needed a location for a business dinner and this won’t make the cut next time.
Major disappointment, not Michelin worthy
Disappointing. Came here ready for an amazing night but to be terribly disappointed. To be fair the service is good, although I’m not too fond of 5 different people come check on us all the time, but they were attentive. However the steak and this steak restaurant is below average. The server highly recommended us to order the almost $200 ribeye that the restaurant is famous for, however only the edge was edible to us. The middle part of the meat is dry and hard (we ordered medium rare). It’s difficult to eat, that’s how bad it was. We were excited for this Michelin star restaurant experience, but We can’t even finish it. We will not be returning and will bring our business back to Capa where they actually make good food.
I recently dined at Knife & Spoon in Orlando, excited by
I recently dined at Knife & Spoon in Orlando, excited by its reputation and the promise of a Michelin Guide-listed experience. Unfortunately, my anticipation was met with disappointment. While the restaurant boasts a sophisticated atmosphere and an adventurous cocktail list, my culinary journey fell short of expectations. The hamachi appetizer was the sole highlight of my meal, delivering on flavor and freshness. However, the subsequent dishes failed to live up to this initial promise. The yellowtail, a dish I was eagerly looking forward to, was overcooked, detracting significantly from its potential. The steak tartare, while decent, didn't quite hit the mark for me, lacking the exceptional quality I anticipated in such a renowned establishment. The scallops, described on the menu as a must-try, were unfortunately flavorless. For a restaurant that prides itself on high-quality cooking and has received accolades for its steaks, this inconsistency in the quality of its seafood offerings was particularly disappointing. Despite the prestige of Knife & Spoon and its celebrated chef John Tesar, my experience highlighted a disconnect between reputation and execution. While the restaurant's ambiance and service were commendable, the culinary experience left me underwhelmed. This visit made me question the consistency of the acclaimed dishes that draw people to Knife & Spoon. I hope this feedback can serve as constructive criticism, helping to elevate the dining experience to match the high expectations set by its accolades and reviews.
Excellent - highly recommend.
This was delightful!!! Attention to detail and impeccable service. The food was excellent. I had pasta bolognese (pasta made there fresh) and my husband had a steak. The carrot cake after dinner was wonderful and a perfect end of meal treat. The team that served us was professional and friendly.
We wanted to compare the two local Michelin star steak
We wanted to compare the two local Michelin star steak houses, so we did Capa for my fiancé's birthday and Knife & Spoon for mine - his choice won. The bar at Knife & Spoon is lovely, and I'd come back just for the raw bar experience there, but the dining room is cavernous and cold - lots of hard surfaces, it just doesn't have the coziness that Capa did. To me, it lacked a level of elegance and charm that the bar area had. I also didn't like that you had to walk along the outside of the hotel to get to the restaurant; we arrived on a chilly and rainy January evening. Compared to the lobby experience of the Four Seasons en route to Capa, not going inside the Ritz to get here felt odd. Now, the food - the steak was great, but the sides are what really stood out. The gnocchi was some of the best I've ever had. Dessert was forgettable, unfortunately. Overall, we agreed it was an excellent meal, but found Capa to be a better experience and value, dollar for dollar, when spending this much on a meal. While I'm glad we went, and the meal was certainly wonderful - it's just not in our budget to do this kind of meal all the time, so I'd likely go back for the raw bar, but probably not a full dinner again.
Nice restaurant with very friendly staff.
Food was delicious. Definitely worth the trip
Great food, great ambience, great service.
The scallops were exquisite. Roberto at the bar went above and beyond to heighten my experience.
Good, but over hyped and over priced.
For the most part, the food was tasty and fresh. The stone crab claws were disappointing. For the price, would expect fresh seafood. They tasted like they were previously frozen and water logged. The scallops and the lamb were good, but not spectacular. The service was lacking. Lots of staff, but you had to be on their time table if you wanted anything. The servers came to clear the table while we were still eating the stone crabs and then never cleared those plates before bringing the main entrees. Asked for a second cocktail earlier in the service, but it didn't arrive until dessert after asking a few times to different servers. The one server did apologize at the end when he brought the bill. It was nice to experience it once, but wouldn't necessarily put it on my repeat list.
Exceptional food - mediocre service - horrible ambiance
The food here was absolutely exceptional and worth more than even one star. Especially the lobster and the Casio de Pepe noodles. Absolutely super. Service was not up to par by any means. Even without the M star. Not worthy a Ritz. Just running around and making people uncomfortable with their hasty attitude and mediocre understanding what upscale dining is about. The place is loud and uncomfortable. Honestly, the first time for us to sit in a Michelin Star restaurant with people wearing flip flops, hoodies and baseball hats. Not sure if it is worth to come back.
So good we went twice
How could this not be a 5? We went twice in three days. The food is beautiful and tasty. It’s not fluff food. I left both times totally satiated and left both times thinking I can’t wait to go back. The whole fish is the most amazing preparation I have ever had. The Octopus appetizer was outstanding as was the desserts. Perfection!
Great dinner
This restaurant did not disappoint. From the moment we walked in until the moment we left, we were pampered and treated very well by staff. We began with the curated cocktails followed by champagne. The dinner menu is spectacular. Whether you want wagyu beef or spectacular in-house made pasta. There was no wrong dish. Stephen waited on us and ended up creating the most unusual after dinner cocktail for me. That was a blend made for a goddess. Hints of absinth and cherry, whiskey and coffee. Served in a ceramic pot that made you think an alchemist had worked their magic creating this concoction. Everything was excellent.
The food was not great.
Not high quality food at all. Extremely overpriced. Lobster was extremely disappointing . No flavor. Tough. Cold. Impossible to finish. In was also in the strangest dark gravy. Iceberg salad- a JOKE! Not prepared as a high end restaurant would. Prawns were terrible. If you've had colossal prawns before , you will know these do not measure up. They were on a bed of salty disgusting seaweed that seemed unwashed. The prawns absorbed the salt and flavor of the seaweed. They were tough. Bartender/Waiter was very nice. That was good
Service: Nothing I love more than going to a restaurant and
Service: Nothing I love more than going to a restaurant and they being flexible/understanding w my toddler and infant. Loved the bread plate and palate cleanser to start the meal as well as the prompt service to bring my toddler the food asap. Ambiance: For being a Michelin it didn't feel overly stuffy and the ambiance felt more laid back smart casual. The chairs were not as comfy as I would like as they were bench love seats. Food: highlights of the meal was the crudo for appetizer as it came with a delicious sauce and the fish were extremely fresh. For entree the grouper and the cacio y Pepe took the cake. Cannot go wrong at all with either one of these choices!
Food was amazing.
Service was impeccable... team was attentive. Very elegant location . Perfect for a special occasion!
I'll start by saying that is is my first Michelin rated
I'll start by saying that is is my first Michelin rated restaurant experience and yes, I have watched "The Bear." My husband and I went for our 20th Anniversary. Upon first impression, I wouldn't normally go to a restaurant that is attached to a hotel - not sure why, but it seems to be a deterrent for me. (Maybe I'm missing out?) But hey, it was attached to the Ritz, so let's set our expectations high, right? Valet was convenient, the hostess validated our parking so it was complimentary, and they seated us slightly ahead of our reservation time. The dining room is round with high ceilings which made for a pretty active atmosphere. The energy was good, even with the noise level increasing as the tables filled up. I enjoyed the buzz of the staff - the "bee hive" rhythm that the dining room, pass, and kitchen seemed to take on. We had a team of 3 taking care of us throughout the evening. They were extremely friendly and made extra efforts to make our anniversary dinner special. Jesus and Miguel were especially attentive, but the third (forgive me for not remembering her name) was informative and friendly. The complimentary champagne was a nice way to kick off the evening to celebrate together. The amuse bouche was a shot glass of juice (non-alcoholic) and was a nice palette teaser. Very bright and warm with the flavor of ginger. It was a nice start. We ordered an item from each section of the menu and had a few really surprising and extremely delightful moments along the way. So, without further ado, the food. The wedge salad was nice - the bright dill ranch dressing, strong blue cheese, bacon, and tomato. It wasn't my favorite wedge salad that I've had, Luma on Park holds that top spot (but they no longer exist - a moment of silence).... The scallops were the the first highlight and definitely the star of the evening for me. The BROTH was OUT OF THIS WORLD inspired. The scallops were delicate and perfectly seasoned and golden. The broth was so incredible that when Jesus came to check in I mentioned I would drink it, so he jokingly asked if I wanted a straw. Well, by the end of the bowl, my husband was tilting the bowl so I could spoon the broth out (chuckling the entire time that I was enjoying it so much. He was very proud of himself for bringing me to Knife & Spoon) when of a sudden Jesus runs up and puts a straw on the table. Lol!!! We burst out laughing and it truly made our night. The purple potato pasta in a cream sauce with sea urchin was the next dish. And yes, it's EVERYTHING you want in a creamy pasta dish that has a touch of the unique. It was my first time enjoying sea urchin, and I hope it's not my last. A tip from Jesus, press the urchin against the roof of your mouth to get the full pallet flavor. Tip from me, place nibble size portions on your pasta bites to enjoy the full spectrum of flavors throughout the dish. Next came the catch of the day: Flounder. Another dish with so many layers of flavor that it kept bringing me back to create one perfect bite after another - collecting an element from each item on the plate to bring all of the flavors together for the perfect bite. The wagyu beef was the perfect way for us to end because we had already split so much food and so many flavors. But, I would say that a dry aged ribeye is calling my husband's name for our next visit. We are normally not dessert people, so we went with all savory dishes. However, Jesus made sure we didn't leave without feeling special and enjoying one of their pastry chef's specialties as our second complimentary treat. As if the night wasn't special enough, the box of 6 macarons they gave us to take home made my kids feel special too since we shared them with them when we got home. Thank you to the entire staff who made our 20th Anniversary extra special!
Absolutely amazing.
Great service, beautiful restaurant, comfortable ambiance. And the food? Incredible. Oysters? Amazing mignonette. Steak Tartare? Super fresh and tasty. Lobster Tail? Perfectly cooked, delicious sauce. Filet Mignon? Best I ever had. Everything was very upscale without being stuffy. Bravo.
Just ok
When you have high hopes for the best meal at a award winning restaurant and you leave feeling deflated. The service team where impeccable. Thank you to them. The food was good. Not worth the high price tag. Very average. The space was loud. I would not have to go back.
Knife & Spoon Delivers!
Foodies rejoice! The location formerly occupied by the venerable Norman's has been upgraded. The new restaurant, called Knife & Spoon, has earnered a Michelin star, and demands a visit when staying at the Ritz Grand Lakes. Ours wasa business dinner, and we were seated at the Chef's Table, which added a great deal of eye candy to our evening. We started with a creative and unusual amuse bouche- warm pomegranite and ginger with other spices. It was quite exotic. Our group ordered fish, steak, chicken and pasta, and all were happy. Service was attentive without being overbearing. The new dining room is not quiet, but nobody seemed bothered. Wine lovers can relax, as many attributes of the old list has been preserved. Selections are diverse and well thought out. Perhaps most interesting is the fact that the former GM of Norman's, Yusuf Yildiz has returned to helm Knife and Spoon. A polished verteran, Yusuf has a unique ability to ensure that every guest leaves happy. I cant wait to go back. For anyone concerned about the prices that can accompany a Michelin designation- dont be! Just go! Highly recommended!
Everything was amazing!
We went here for a date night and were blown away. The ambiance is very intimate and welcoming. The service was impeccable. The attention to detail was really great. We had the scallops as an appetizer and they were the best scallops we ever had. Followed by an amazing dry aged steak! We will go back in the future!
Had the perfect night out.
I came for my birthday and it was lovely. Jessica and Pedro were the ones who took care of us and every detail of our dinner was spectacular. We had a little of everything steak, lobster and chicken and it was all Cooked to perfection. The service was phenomenal and if you need any help with beverage recommendations Jessica is very knowledgeable and helpful.

Great Service - amazing dinner!!
Read about the site in NYT and bought a reservation at Mother Wolf in LA 2 days later. Worked great and the food was amazing!!!
Worked perfectly!
Got the reservation (that I couldn't get anywhere else) and was able to entertain a group of friends at the infamous Bern's Steakhouse.
Got into Nobu Malibu
Wonderful! My parents are visiting and we have wanted to go to Nobu Malibu for years. I tried getting a reservation myself but it was next to impossible. So glad I was able to buy a reservation on appointment trader for a decent price!
Very easy
Was very hesitant going into this experience but am glad to say that it worked out very well ! will definitely use appointment trader in the future
Fabulous Lunch
I was veeeeeerry skeptical that this would work, particularly at a restaurant as hard to get into as Nobu Malibu, and it was perfect! We had lunch outside on the patio and it was fabulous!
Great reviewer team
Just wanted to take a second to shout out the reviewer team. Even though they probably review hundreds of listings and bids a day, they still take the time to leave great comments and respond relatively quickly. Thanks!
Incredible
I got a reservation to Don Angie, which I've been trying to book for weeks! I am very happy with this service.
Best platform out there!
Super simple, easy, and fast to secure reservations for hard-to-get restaurants and locations!
This app is life changing
This app has opened my world up to so many wonderful new experiences I would never have the chance to have without access to this awesome app! 10/10!
Worked perfectly
Was a little nervous at first but was pleased to see that the booking went through flawlessly.
Highly recommended.
Success on Short Notice
Was able to snag an indoor table at Don Angie through an absolutely seamless worry-free process.

Worked well, got me into a restaurant with no availability

Last minute reservation for Delilah Las Vegas
Got a last minute reservation, dinner for 2 at Delilah Las Vegas: super impressed! The process was simple, transaction seamless. We had an amazing time! Couldn’t be happier! 😍
It works!
Ok at this point I've attended a reservation purchased on AT by a friend and sold a reservation personally. Both worked pretty smoothly, nothing sketchy about it. A few areas for improvement including a way to more directly communicate between buyers and sellers, but the app always seems to be in development. AT customer support is really(!) responsive and helpful too if you have questions!
Money transfer
As a seller, I like the fact i have the ability now to transfer money out of my AT account and into a bank account. Makes getting the money much easier then the process before.
Love this app
Got to go to places otherwise unreachable
Easy Access
Very easy to get into one of the hardest restaurants to reserve in New York.
Whose name will my reservation be under when I arrive at the venue?
It can be under your name or a name you choose! Some reservation offers already include the AppointmentTrader Transfer Service which will transfer the reservation in to your name. If its not included you can add it on after buying the reservation for a small fee. One thing on that though: As many reservations become available at last minute, taking a reservation in someone else name is quick and great for privacy. Most reservations on AT are listed with a virtual phone number, so all you need to do is present the phone number at the hostess stand and you are good to go!
Payouts Blocked Because of Sell Through Rate
Does anyone know how AT plans to handle cases where a seller is quitting the platform but has a sell through rate <25%? The error message I got said to fill more bids or find other ways to increase the rate.
Is AT really going to block sellers from withdrawing their money? Especially revenue made before the sell through rate was introduced??

I will give you 50% of ALL of my PROFITS if you teach me how to make profits?
LOL. Thank you The New Yorker.

Transferring reservations is not supported in AT. Why not just use the name in the AT screenshot?
Buyers interested in Bern's Steakhouse: PLEASE READ
Same goes for 4 Charles and I Sodi
Prepaid Reservation Fee
Agreed. Ultimately not addressing this month after month is clearly resulting in a drop in certain venue’s rankings & sales.
Congrats on 3 mil

Need to cancel a bid, not getting a response… how do I do it?
Click on "Take off the Market Option" in your portfolio
Working on your bid?
Your bid has been “matched” with a reservation. From the time a reservation has been located, the seller of the reservation must connect with moderator to give transfer information for reservation. If the seller;however, does NOT respond to reservation transfer, then your bid is reprocessed and returns to the first step, which is connecting your request to a reservation.
Process after bid is accepted.
Hey @EvocativeFold67, welcome to appointmenttrader! Once the reservation is in your portfolio, you definitely own the timeslot, the review team would not have approved the trade if the reservation wasn't confirmed - so you are going :-) Judging from your post you bid today and are going tomorrow - don't worry as long as you initiated the name transfer, you are good - the transfer service has to work with the opening hours of the reservation team of the respective venue. You will likely see the transfer confirmation a couple hours before your reservation time.
Where do the Reservations on AppointmentTrader come from?
Mostly from people who don't need their reservations or appointments any longer. AT has no relationship with places listed and acts as a platform connecting buyers and sellers making sure that listed reservations are real and that privacy is not compromised when transacting.
What happens if my bid expires unanswered?
Hey @FluffyStar64, thanks for the question! When you place your bid the amount gets transferred in a deposit account, the second you either cancel your bid or a few minutes after the bid expires the funds are moved back into your main account from where you can refund it to your payment method or use for other transactions.
