Flagrant violator
This restaurant has taken over most of the sidewalk with a big enclosed structure. By law, the cleared walkway must be eight feet. This place left enough space to walk single file. How is this structure still standing?
Be the first to ReplyJapanese, but not in the service
PROS Quality of food, definitely elegant and well presented Fine dining And position mainly CONS Everything the rest Service: poor wine list, offered 2 bottles already opened, dirty dishes left on the table all the dinner, a lot of wait and drunk people joined in the external room from street without being stopped at the door They can do better Good place, but definitely need improvements
Be the first to ReplyTop notch but pricey
Lovely experience. The sushi was top drawer. The service was impeccable. Only gripe is the sky-high price. I know it NYC, but still ....
Be the first to ReplyI was Underwhelmed
I been going to omakases all over NYC and this one is just average for me. The price is nice but sometimes you get what you pay for. The service is very average. I think the ambiance is ok but they try to fit as many ppl as they can at the bar that there is no social distancing which is bad whether there is or there is not a pandemic because I like my personal space. The drink menu is quite poor as well. Only good thing is for the price, there are only few pieces of sushi so it goes very quick, around hour and half, but you will be hungry afterwards. Good news especially if you eat early is in this part of town, there are so many better restaurants nearby, so many.
Be the first to ReplyBuyer Beware. We never got our food
We ordered dinner for $326 last night and it never came. They refused to replace it or provide a credit. They said the gave it to a delivery service so they were not responsible. I ordered on their site and their was no mention of a third party. If I had ordered from a third party I would have gotten a refund. They did nothing and did not even follow up with me. BUYER BEWARE THEY WILL STEAL YOUR MONEY This is unethical and a stupid business practice since I order from them at least twice per month

Really amazing sushi - sit at the counter and enjoy a remarkable selection of freshest fish. Relaxed vibe. One of the best in NYC. Get here now.
Be the first to ReplyDelicious omakase with quality ingredients
I had to book an omakase dinner after watching the Eater video released earlier this year. My friend and I had the 16 course dinner, genmaimatcha tea with a negitoro and caviar handroll. I love how each party of 2 gets their own chef. You get a more private intimate experience. I loved the black caviar over toro, ottoro with shaved truffle, buri- Japanese yellow tail, chu toro, Kinmedai- golden eye snapper, and ebi with the torched uni. Everything was so fresh. Buttery textures and a great mix of flavors. Highly recommend ordering a handroll. The negitoro and caviar is really popular and I'm so glad I ordered it. They stuffed the handroll with so much fish it started bursting out. Cant complain! Some of the pieces feature brown or white rice. I personally liked the brown rice, but I'm sure you can requested which one you prefer. You definitely have to make reservations prior to coming here. Its a $100 deposit to reserve your seat. Price wise its reasonable. I left hungry, but I came for the ambience and the experience. They feature indoor and outdoor seating. The partitions are put up between you the chef and also surrounding parties. We found ourselves dining and paying out check under 90 minutes. I'll definitely be back to order some of their to go boxes.
Be the first to ReplyNovel preparation of sushi
This visit was at the Long Island City location. It is located on the mezzanine level of a food court, but donโt let this fool you. We sat at the sushi bar and ordered the $160 omakase. The selection of fish is flown in daily from Japan. The ingredients included higher end items, such as white truffle and beluga caviar. The preparation of the sushi was different and novel. It wasnโt the typical blue fin tuna topped with tofu sauce or yellowtail topped jalapeรฑo. Service was great and staff was friendly. They recommend you to eat the sushi the proper way, using your fingers, but chopsticks are offered.
