(3.75/5) Wouldn't say there was a wow factor throughout the entire meal and some dishes were oversalted, but there were definitely a few remarkable standouts (the massaman nuea is a must!). Went with my Thai friend, who gave the thumbs up and was struck by how local some of the dishes were. Appreciate how unique some of the ingredients were - I've never seen cranberry beans served at a Thai restaurant before, much less anywhere else! The restaurant itself is pretty understated and minimalist, but in a way that feels intimate. + Mushroom Hor Mok (2.5/5) - I *really* love curry and mushrooms, so I was surprised mixing them together didn't quite hit the mark for me. I feel like all the flavors here just blended together in a way that made them indistinguishable. Sadly underwhelming. + Nam Tok Beans (3.5/5) - A bit too salty for my liking but also unexpectedly really spicy!! Super crunchy and zesty, not something I'd down at once but it became something fun for us to snack on throughout the meal. + Caramelized Pork Belly (4/5) - Simple but really tasty and tender. Again, sauce was a bit too salty but that's what the tub of rice it comes with is for ahaha - goes so well drizzled over rice. + Massaman Nuea (4.5/5) - The most memorable dish of the night - how does one make beef literally fall apart like this?! I swear I didn't even have to use my knife, or really even chew much. Will note that other Massaman curries I've had were sweeter - I could barely taste any sweetness in this one, but I think the flavor was deliciously rich regardless. + Black Rice Pudding (3.5/5) - Lots going on in this dish, like the contrasting temperatures. Reminds me of something you'd get at Meet Fresh. + Mai Mee (3/5) - Sweet and light but our drink had a loot of ice :/
