Great food in relaxed atmosphere
Had a fantastic dinner here that the whole family enjoyed. Steak Frites with their signature hash brown fries was delicious as was my crab starter. Highly recommended if you are in Kenmare!
Be the first to ReplyGreat restaurant
Had a superb meal here on Thursday night. Brendan is a fabulous chef and came out to chat to us. The black sole was beautifully cooked. Really enjoyed the entire dining experience.

We dined on a cold Friday in January. We were enthusiastically welcomed and brought to a well located table. For starters I’d a lamb spring roll. For me this was a bit over generous with lamb though this was somewhat balanced with a fennel salad. My companion had a light palate cleansing crab salad, described as very delicious. Our mains were black sole on the bone and steak frites with a pepper sauce. The sole was outstanding. It was topped with an interesting flavour combination including some mussels which were a bit shrivelled tho very tasty nonetheless. I hadn’t realised that the fish would arrive with the side bones removed. That might have been necessary as the fish was very large and meaty so I was presented with two generous cuts from it. A whole fish would have been overly generous. My companion was delighted with the flavour of his steak and its sauce. He thought the chips were a bit on the heavy side. That said, his plate was clean in no time. The accompanying veg (soggy hasselback spuds, turnip and carrot bits ) was so so. We shared a plum Bakewell tart with a boozy ice cream scoop. Very moreish. The food was pleasantly washed down with some non alcoholic Cronin’s cider and sparkling water. The service was excellent and dining room pleasant. We’ll be back.

I had the pleasure of visiting this restaurant with my colleagues in late November. The food was amazing, the welcome incredibly warm and the atmosphere charming. I will be returning to this restaurant with my family.
Be the first to ReplyBeautiful Restaurant - Delicious Food & Wonderful Service
We recently visited Lagom as part of our team offsite dinner. The food was divine and the staff could not do more for us. We would definitely come again. It is a must visit if in Kenmare. Cannot recommend highly enough.
Be the first to ReplyFantastic, spectacular restaurant in Kenmare Co Kerry
This is some of the best food I have ever tasted. I have literally travelled the world and eaten in so many restaurants but this place stands head and shoulders above all the rest. It is so good, so friendly and most importantly so so friendly. Megan was our server and she was so knowledgeable and Brendan, the chef, is quite simply astounding. I have no connections with this restaurant and this is an honest review.
Be the first to ReplyA Delightful Gastronomic Journey
During a recent dinner outing at Lagom, my wife and I were thoroughly impressed. For anyone in Co. Kerry seeking a delightful gastronomic journey, Lagom is a must-visit.
Be the first to ReplyBeautiful rooms in a gorgeous Irish Seaside Village.
Kenmare is another ( along with Kinsale) must visit village on the Ring of Kerry. The Lagom Townhouse is right in the middle of the village, the staff are wonderful. The rooms are beautifully appointed with luxurious linen. The breakfast is outstanding.

Lamb and beef dishes great for the carnivore, we also loved the starters and the staff. Limited menu but excellent cooking
Be the first to ReplyLovely Lagom
My wife and I spent two nights in this lovely bed and breakfast. Our bedroom and en-suite were very comfortable and well equipped. We thoroughly enjoyed lovely breakfasts, cooked to order, each morning. Unfortunately, the restaurant was closed on one of the night's and we had made plans to eat with relatives on the other night. Would highly recommend Lagom which is located in the centre of Kenmare.
Be the first to ReplyTasty is an understatement
Simply among the best quality food you can buy. Everything is superb. Very reasonably prices for the standard. We will be back again.
Be the first to ReplyWhat a find!
What a find! This is a little gem of a restaurant. Chef owner restaurants are always the best. The food was presented beautifully and the flavour was fantastic. We will be back! Well done to all the staff in this beautifully appointed establishment.
Be the first to ReplyEmpty plates, save for a fish skeleton!
Had the pleasure of dining at Lagom, and what a pleasure it was! As soon as the stout bread and sourdough arrived we knew we were in a restaurant that treats food with the respect it deserves. My starter of melt-in-the mouth goat's cheese bonbons encased in a hazelnut coating and sitting on a bed of diced beetroot was simply perfect. Mick's bacon and cabbage croquette recreated the taste of our childhood dinners in an ingenius contemporary fashion. My main of featherblade beef was so tender it almost rendered cutlery superfluous! The extra element of a bonemarrow gratin topping was just unctuous! Mick had the black sole, a delicious flaky snowwhite delight. Accompanying buttery seasonal veg and hassleback potatoes were very generous. My delicious plum bakewell was the perfect blend of pillowy frangipane and crusty pastry. Mick went for the nostalgia of the iceberger, a reincarnated and much improved version of the Sunday treat of our childhood We washed it all down with the house sparkling water, two glasses of French sauvignon blanc and an excellent 2015 bordeaux grand cru. Maybe the main evidence of our enjoyment was giving back empty plates and bottles, save for one fish skeleton!
Be the first to ReplyBest Gournet Restaurant of our 12 day Irish Tour
We thoroughly enjoyed our dinners at this little gourmet gem of a restaurant in Kenmare! The French wines we had by the glass were excellent. The portions were just right. I had the catch of the day and it was the best dinner I have had in all of Ireland, and I have had many excellent meals in Ireland in the last 12 days. They were very busy and the service was a little slow, but worth the wait!
Be the first to ReplyWe got lucky with no reservation
We got lucky with no reservation on a Wednesday evening so reservations are recommended. The menu is clearly a cut above your typical nicer Irish restaurant. The owner chef personally serves each dish. Prices reasonable and wine by the glass options better than what we’ve seen throughout Ireland. This place is on its way up the charts!
Be the first to ReplyBeyond excellent
We did not have a reservation and the restaurant was bustling with a large group, yet we received the very best attention and service. The atmosphere was relaxed with an attention to detail in the quality of the decor, cutlery and linens. Our trip was a hiking/trekking vacation and we felt comfortable in our casual wear while other diners were dressed-up. The food was beautifully prepared and presented, using fresh, seasonal and creative ingredients. I had appetizer special featuring locally caught crab and the daily fish offering. The wine list had a nice variety. All of the staff worked together as a team to serve our meal and make our dining experience memorable-we felt we received very personal service and lots of smiles! Thank you all for a perfect evening!

This restaurant delivers exceptional cuisine & a pleasant atmosphere. The only draw back was that they were short staffed. There were 2 servers for the entire restaurant. They could use a hostess.

Spent 2 weeks in Kenmare and this restaurant was a discovery. Not long open but I had my favourite meal here. Lovely owner who obviously really cares about his customers and his food.
Be the first to ReplyUpscale menu, excellent meal
Wow, what a surprise to find fine dining in small town Kenmare. No cocktails just wine and beer. Bread service yummy. Appetizers exotic. Presentations expert and beautiful. Lamb and feather steak excellent. Ribeye not the best choice. Creative and delicious vegetable side. Raspberry cheesecake excellent. Reservation needed. We had a relaxed and delicious experience.
