Fantastic lunch.
Dropped in here for lunch and had a super meal, Korean fried chicken with noodles. Absolutely delicious. Service was great and the meal very cheap, even before the 10% discount for NHS staff. I would highly recommend and will be returning.
Be the first to ReplyWorst Japanese meal I've had in London.
I ordered the grilled chicken hand-pulled noodle. It was legitimately the worst noodle dish I've ever eaten at a restaurant. The noodles were extremely rubbery, greasy and tasted like plastic. The greenery was extremely watery and flavourless and the spices were almost non-existent.
Jasmine tea was nice, if a little strong and the service we received was pleasant enough but I would never recommend it to anyone. There is far better Japanese/Asian food to be had very close by.
Lunchtime
I always enjoy my meals at the Japanese canteen and bento box meals are a great way to enjoy your lunch break and added miso soup. Very close to Liverpool Street and spitalfields markets.

First time visiting, looked clean and smelt nice so wandered.
Had no idea what to order, but liked the sound of Pork Belly with rice. Was slightly concerned it might be dry, so asked if it came with a sauce. I got a resounding yes so ordered it (ยฃ7:95).
Well when I got back to my desk and opened it, guess what it didn't come with, yep you guessed it, a sauce. It was as I suspected dry. The meat was moist, but there was 6 tiny tiny little bits in a massive bowl of rice.
Will certainly not be going back
Not good
Well below par, I ordered the Vegetable Ramen with Soy. Apart from the waitress at the counter being arrogant for no apparent reason, the dish was very poor. The ramen broth was lacking in any flavour and the soy chunks were small and dehydrated, not fresh. I have had more flavour in a pot noodle. Second time I have been here and second time disappointed, I wonโt go a 3rd.

This chain restaurant offer Japanese, Korean and other combinations. We tried two different Remens, which were just OK. Tofu Remen was very plastic like, and the vegetables felt a bit stale. See,ms to be getting their raw materials in bulk supplied from central store. Over all just OK.

So, itโs not high end Japanese and probably pitches itself a few notches up from Itsu. Have been a few times and have to say I like the formula. Itโs decent value, choice and taste. You can eat really well for ยฃ15 when you might pay double that in a Wagamama or Shoyru. Does exactly what it says on the tin

Wanted a quick but delicious meal before the theatre. We had lovely spicy fried chicken with noodles and veg Katsu curry. Generous portions served quickly, excellent and helpful customer service. Lovely Asahi beer on draught . Canteen style seating clean and tidy. Good value for money. Will definitely be back.
