Perfect sukiyaki!
Absolutely love the sukiyaki here. We ordered the shimofuri course and the beef was served in 4 different dishes, in raw egg, glass noodle, golden mushroom and leeks/onion. The ending course was the ojiya which is like eggs on top of rice cooked in a pot. It was excellent! We absolutely adore our dinner here!

Had sukiyaki course from appetizer to egg rice Ojiya.
Beef was from Kagoshima, and each diner has 4 slices, 3 large with 1 smaller in size. The 1st was by itself dipped in egg, while the rest of the slices were accompanied with mixed vegetables such as onions, mushroom, shallots etc. Pickled vegetables were asked and provided. The finishing dish was using the sukiyaki sauce and simmered for a few minutes with egg.
Clearly lots of tradition with this restaurant but not clear with star reputation. Imahan which is another multi location sukiyaki restaurant offering multiple types of beef also has a great sauce and just as tasty.
possibly the best sukiyaki ever
I am a big fan of sukiyaki and its my must eat every time when I am in Tokyo. I used to go to Rengatsu in Ginza, which is about 9000$ yen for very good quality meat, but this meal at Ishibashi blew me away. We ordered set menu of $13000 yen, which includes a big plate of A5 wagyu, veggie plates, stewed rice afterward and appetizers. The meat itself is super tender and melts right in your mouth the min you have it. With a good portion of beef, we had it with tofu and onions that are also well cooked with the sauce. The lady who served us was about 70 and I do worry for her sometimes haha. However, great hospitality and food. The environment itself is very traditional and old, yet blends with the meals perfectly. I will definitely go back again.
