It’s ok
With many of the top-rated restaurants in New Delhi being buffets, it was encouraging to see this fine dining concept having earned so many awards. However, I really don’t see how this could be one of the best restaurants in Asia, or even in India. To start, what should have been a one-click reservation here took me a full week to complete. For some reason this needs to be conducted manually with a weird payment gateway that refused all methods of payment. To secure the reservation, my only option was sending CC details in plain text. The tasting menu was good for the price, but portions were a bit small and there was no showstopper. Wine pairings were pretty good. Aside from the gorgeous setting, it’s hard to say Indian Accent is on the same plane as Chicago’s Indienne or Dubai’s Tresind Studio.

What an outstanding experience! We had a couple of days in Delhi, and our tour operator said we really had to visit, to the point that he included a booking into our itinerary. He could not have been more right. We had a mixture of the veggie and carnivore menus across our party, and we really could not fault a single dish. Particular praise to the chat (elevated up into the stratosphere from its humble origins), and the crab, and the deep, rich black daal with the main (give me a bucket of the stuff and let me slink off to the telly). Staff were outstanding, and we were treated to a visit by Chef Shantanu in which he really engaged. We were blown away pre main course by being asked if we had particularly enjoyed any of the early courses, and when we praised a couple of them, they produced a further round of those. I have never seen this in a restaurant before. Oh aye and the setting is lovely too!

Amazing restaurant, best Indian food ever and excellent service. The price level is certainly high by Indian standards, but it is a top restaurant. All dishes 5/5.
Be the first to ReplyDon’t visit if you have a family - they have a “child” policy which is ludicrous
My husband and I have dined previously dined at the Delhi restaurant twice and once in London (we live there). Today we got turned away from the Delhi one (completely empty at lunch) because my daughter was one year younger than the arbitrary age of 10. I cannot express how disappointed I am such an adultist and discriminatory policy. Every single child is different and your manager conceded today that my daughter is well behaved and in her advocation for her own rights to him, she was mature. You could invite a child who is 12 and still not be as mature as mine. She has dined in michelin starred restaurants around the world since she was 6! Who even came up with this ridiculous policy and why? Then we were told if we’d said she was 10, she would be ID’d! The absurdity of this is just mind blowing. My daughter asked the manager how he would feel if he was told he couldn’t go somewhere because he’s not the right age. If you prefer adults frequenting your restaurant then make it 18+ but an arbitrary cut off of 10 is just plain wrong. Also the receptionist at Lodhi was also condescending asking how old “the baby” was! I have followed you for years and held your food and talent in high esteem until now. Oh and the only reason given was corporate lunches needing a child free space so children should not be seen or heard now? One might argue if I knew of this policy why take my child but I argue that I know my child best and if she can or cannot handle an environment of a so called fine dining place. Quite honestly, she’s probably more articulate and mature than the person who allegedly made up this policy. Absolutely shocking.

Be the first to ReplyWhat a great experience
I had heard great reviews about this restaurant and had built up great expectations. Many times when you do this you are let down, this time the opposite. We were blown away by the quality and the flavours of the food , the good wine pairings and the excellent service. Everything exceeded expectations and I would highly recommend any foodie going to Delhi to try the tasting menu at this restaurant.

Be the first to ReplyEverything tasted delicious
This must be one of the finest Indian restaurants in Delhi. Presentation exquisite and innovative, although based on traditional dishes and street food. See the photos for some idea of the creativity . Everything tasted delicious, difficult to leave anything even once full. Great selection of vegetarian and vegan options which i loved . Staff are professional, efficient , friendly and helpful explaining all the names of the Indian dishes. Still salivating and look forward to visiting when we return to Delhi, I wouldnt bother looking anywhere else for an incredible dining experience , Thanks to all the team at Indian Accent for a wonderful evening

Be the first to ReplyAmazing - Michelin should review this restaurant
Amazing visit to Indian Accent. If Michelin went to India this would be on the list. The service was impeccable with a special shout out to “Neil” who explained every dish to us. We were also offered seconds of items that we expressed praise for, which we usually declined as we didn’t want to get too full, but the gesture was appreciated. The restaurant is very beautifully decorated and is overall very cosmopolitan feeling. Highly recommend!

Be the first to ReplyExcellent and superb service
During our first visit to Delhi my wife and I had dinner at this truly excellent restaurant. We had had the tasting menu and the three starters were exceptional, especially the shredded duck and the pork ribs, however, also the sea-food combination for main course was outstanding. Many of the dishes were Indian inspired food but with an international twist, subtle and very tasty. The service was excellent and attentive and the ambience was nice and cosy. Would definitely come back, high recommendable.
Be the first to ReplyHigh end, modern take on Indian cuisine
High end restaurant, part of the gorgeous Lodhi hotel, serving modern take on Indian cuisine. Recommend the tasting menu to get a good sense about what’s on offer. The pork rib, lamb and sea food main dish really stood out. The wines of offer were a real mixed bag, with some very poor choices offered as part of the wine pairing. The setting is wonderful, trendy, comfortable. Very good service. It’s quite expensive, as expected. Very busy and limited seating, so reservation is a must.
Be the first to ReplyAverage food at not very average prices
We went to Indian Accent on a trip to Delhi, after it came highly recommend as a must visit restaurant. So expectations were quite high to start with. While service and ambience were great, I found the food to be just average and bland. There was nothing here that wow-ed me, or anyone from the group of 6 that I was with. I can understand the creativity that goes into making a menu like the one at Indian Accent, but personally I think there’s much better food to be found in Delhi at the same, if not lesser price point.

Indian food lovers must try the food here. Everything here is just mouthwatering and tasty. The quantity will not disappoint you and its value for money. Must try
Be the first to ReplyBeautiful restaurant, but the vegetarian tasting menu was a little monotone
Although we are not vegetarians, on this trip to India we decided that because so much of the cuisine here is vegetarian, we’d do our best to go meatless. After an amazing lunch at Juman (see my review), we were happy with that decision.
Unfortunately, the vegetarian tasting menu from Indian Accent was not so phenomenal. We had the wine pairing with the meal as well, which was actually quite good and well-suited to the food (a treat to try some Indian wines which exceeded expectations, too). However, while technically superb, the food was very monotone in flavour. Everything we ate had the same overwhelming taste of curry (and I like curry, but not as much as I like variety). Once you factor in all the taxes and fees, our meal just left us with regret at having chosen Indian Accent for one of our two dinner meals in Delhi.
Aside from the food, the ambiance and decor of the restaurant is immaculate, and the staff is very well-trained, attentive, and professional. I’d give Indian Accent another shot if ever I find myself back in Delhi, but I’d opt for the non-vegetarian meal instead.
Unpleasant
Nothing special in presentation as well as None of the dishes served have any special preparation or exclusiveness. Very disappointed. Very Mediocre quality. Ambience of the place is also poor and in no way premier/elite.
Be the first to ReplyTerrific food and ambiance
The food and service were both amazing. It’s no surprise that this is the top restaurant in Delhi. Our dinner was a highlight in Delhi
