Birthday in Las Vegas
My wife, daughter, grandson and I had dinner at IL Mulino before attending a show in Las Vegas. Our experience at the restaurant was outstanding. Wonderful food, excellent service and exquisite ambiance. One of the highlights of our visit to Las Vegas.

This place is well worth the check at the end! Service is great, clean and the food….so good! Pasta was fresh and pelt cooked and the sauces don’t over power it. This will be on our list for do agains!
Be the first to ReplyPompous and conscending with mediocre to bad Italian food
Why this restaurant is so bad. I' m allowed to seriously complain once a year and here it is. This is the most pretentious, phony restaurant you're likely to experience. The mood and setting are over the top fake Italian and the waiters all wear faux extravagant tuxedos but they should leave the smug demeanor at their next failed acting audition. The wait staff we had were so puffed up, conceited and lacking in warmth. Italian restaurants are about kindness, care for the customer and authentic food.
Our primary waiter made us feel like bargain seeking diners just because someone in the group didn't want an appetizer or wanted to divide a dessert or was going to pass on that $40 glass of Prosecco that costs $12 a bottle anywhere else. I asked for the second least expensive wine on the menu--Chianti Classico for $90 a bottle. Yeah it bothers me that anywhere else that bottle costs $12. The waiter said, “Come on bro try the Riserva." “How much would that be?” “We offer it at $300". Well, I appreciate the generous offer of $300 for a $25/bottle of wine but I'll just plug my nose and drink the overpriced plonk Chianti.
The food is nothing better than average. The veal milanese was passable and my wife liked her pasta a pomodoro. They made a grand production of the Limoncello and that was both interesting and yummy.
Unless you are prepared to spend $200/person, anticipate that you’ll be treated like you're Larry the Cable Guy--coming from wait staff who make 20% of what you do. It simply wasn't a good time. We should have found a simple trattoria managed by real Italians
For 3 adults and 3 kids we spent $740.
Eating in Italy
What a great restaurant. Very authentic Italian food. Best Shrimps Oreganto I have ever had. Great appetizers, delicious Lobster Ravioli. Fresh Burrata Mozzarella. They come around before ordering your meal with some tasting appetizers. All fresh and delicious.
Be the first to ReplyFood was Average. Poor Service. Loud atmosphere.
The food really was pretty good - once it arrived, but we had specially told them we would appreciate a little quicker server due to a show several of us were scheduled to attend. Apparently that did not make any difference. The ones in our party that needed to attend the show ended up getting our meals literally at the time we were scheduled to leave. (They knew the time) We stayed long enough to "taste" the meals, but not finish. Make sure you have LOTS of time available if you are planning on eating there!
Finally, as others have commented - and I totally agree - it was very difficult to carry on a conversation with anyone except the person next to you.
Second rate
We flew in from England the day before to meet family. We had dined in the Miami il Mulino in January at it was excellent. So I recommended we go to the Vegas one, what a disappointment, I can’t believe it was the same group. The complimentary starters where oily and too rich and the bread appeared to be shop bought. The ravioli starter was too thick and unrefined. I had the chops in Miami which were by far the best I’d had and the ones last night were very, very average. Then the deserts came which looked they had used whipped cream from a can! The only thing that was the same as Miami was the bill! However the staff were authentic and pleasant but that’s the only positive from what was a very disappointing experience. Shame!!!
Be the first to ReplyWow, an experience!
This place was quite the experience! You sit down and the start bringing you around a few different bites of food. We took an early dinner service so service was very good at the beginning. Toward the end of our meal however service began to get much slower and less attentive. Everyone at my table enjoyed their meals. I had the gnocchi, to my surprise it was a generous portion and it was delicious. If service had been consistent throughout the entire meal I would have given them 5 stars. It was obvious the restaurant was getting busier as our meal went on so that is likely why service was not able to keep up.
Be the first to ReplyExcellent Food But.....
The food at this restaurant is excellent. No doubt about it. However, the place was jam packed on the night we went and the noise level was very high. Many tables were for larger groups, possibly convention attendees. What was worse was the poor service.
We were initially attended by Danny who told us the specials, etc. However, he took a considerable amount of time to return with a menu and then even more to take our order. This was all done with a very off hand and basically "I am doing you a favor to serve you" attitude. Our first course arrived without much delay. However, the main course was very slow in coming and was served only after drawing his attention to the fact that we had been waiting far too long. In fact, another waiter took over who was quite pleasant and as prompt as he could be under the extreme crowding of the restaurant.
While the food is excellent, the poor service, high noise level, and crowding together with very high prices for what is served make this an unsatisfactory choice for dining in Las Vegas. There are many restaurants in this price range which are very happy to have someone as a customer and which serve equally good food in a much more agreeable environment.
We always have Christmas Eve at Il Mulino!
When this restaurant is on point they are awesome. We've eaten here many times and 90% of the time they get it right! Great service, bar and preparation. If you feel they are not taking care of you-speak up while you are there! They will pick it up!
Be the first to ReplyNot intimate
This is not a restaurant for a quiet, intimate dinner as advertised. There were too many large, noisy groups all in the one big room. This restaurant should be redesigned to accommodate couples if they continue to advertise “intimate” dining.
We waited about 7 minutes at our table before anyone acknowledged our presence. We were disappointed with the young “Captain “ - another layer of waiter. He rattled off about 12 different specials - who can remember all of those? And was a bit pompous. He also ignored a request we had made several times. The other waiters seemed a bit frenetic. The manager could use a few tips from Joe’s Seafood restaurant located in Caesar’s Palace also. That is a very professional restaurant.
The red sauce was good on the pasta but the Marsala sauce on the veal was too heavy.
Terrible experience
We have eaten here on 2 other occasions and had a wonderful experience, so we decided to bring good friends with us this time. That was a mistake. Staff could have cared less about us. Took forever just to get menus and then had to flag down the Captain to finally order. Had to send some food back and how they handled this wasn’t great. Won’t be going back. Ever.
