Il Cortile Ristorante Paso Robles Reviews from The Last Year
Great dining choice!
Delicious and beautifully prepared. The only reason I am giving it a four star rather than a five star is that the service was a little slow . There was only one waiter to serve 6 tables. I would suggest when dining at this establishment you sit inside as the patio is nothing special. The inside has a vibe and feels more like a dining experience. Guests are dressed casually because after all you are in Paso Robles. I ordered the special salad of the day and the branzino and both were fresh and delicious! Though we did not have dessert the tiramisu looked divine. I will be back.

Decided to try Italian on our recent trip to Paso Robles and we were thrilled with our selection. Started off with the Carpaccio tartufo which is a beef tenderloin with parmesan fonduta with shave black truffles. It is to die for. The raw beef melted in your mouth and the sauce was absolutely incredible. Since we were going Italian, we had to go with the pasta. I had the Fettuccine salsicca which was homemade pasta with pork sausage, fennel, fresh tomato, herbs and white wine. There was an empty plate when I was done. The portion was just right. Not too little, not too much. The service was as good as it gets and the ambiance was exactly what you'd expect if you want a great date night.
Very impressive dinner.
Fine dining, elegant, and incredible food. Our server was fantastic and every meal plated to perfection.

Located a block away from the park in Downtown across the street from Spearhead Coffee. It's highly recommend that you make reservations as the place is not that big and fills up on the weekends. We ordered the grilled octopus, osso buco & veal chop. I have to say that all 3 dishes was fantastic. The octopus was so tender and seasoned well. It's grilled perfectly because you get the grilled flavor from the ends of the tentacles. The sauce and veggies was fantastic. I wish they give you more meat though, but the portions is pretty on point with other establishments. The osso buco was fork tender and it came with a side of risotto. Let me tell you, the meat portion was pretty substantial. Wasn't gamey or anything and the tomato sauce breaks up the creaminess of the risotto. Although it didn't come with truffles like the full risotto dish comes with. The veal chop was cooked medium rare and did not have any gaminess either. It was super tender and seasoned perfectly. I like the crust from the flat top. It was accompanied with a porcini cream sauce that was also delicious. The service was and staff was great throughout the night. Oh, one more thing, the bread basket they give you was so good. Nothing like crusty fresh bread. Nice and chewy. But keep in mind that if you want more bread, it's going to cost you an extra $5. I did wish they gave you more than 4 small pieces to start out with. That's my only knock for this restaurant. This will be on my list when visiting Paso.
What an absolutely lovely place.
Went for dinner and sat "outside" wasn't really outside, covered patio because it was cold and they had heaters and blankets. Food was fabulous. Best carpaccio ever... had fantastic vintage Italian wine. Ambiance was great. Our waitress was lovely. The outdoor area got pretty loud later- we were done with our entrees, and considering dessert..... some guests were too happy on drinks and the waitress asked if we would be more comfortable inside, in a more quieter setting, to perhaps take our coffee and sweets inside in case we were bothered by the noise. So thoughtful and careful. It was fun, even with the commotion and laughs:
Pasta in Paso! Absolutely an amazing experience at Il
Pasta in Paso! Absolutely an amazing experience at Il Cortile. This Italian restaurant was recommended to me by multiple people as well as some popular food sites. It is located downtown so very easy to get to. A romantic setting, friendly staff, with amazing cocktails, an extensive wine list and incredible food. They make their pastas in-house which is spectacular. I started off with their old fashioned and the soup of the day, which was an artichoke soup. The soup was quite delightful, very creamy and decadent. You can tell that all of the ingredients are extremely fresh. For an entrée I chose their sweetcorn Agnolotti; probably the best pasta I've had in a long time. It was so light and fluffy and the flavors were remarkable, everything that I hoped for in a pasta dish and more. I actually think I called it "breathtaking" lol. Sometimes food does that to me. If you're ever in the Paso Robles area I highly recommend coming to this restaurant for sure! Cheers
Great ambiance, service and food.
We had the grilled octopus (not shown) and the scallops starter. We had the Branzino and lamb chops. Ended with a berry tart. Our guests brought a Rosso bought back from Italy. Great meal!
This is a "great night" restaurant.
GO THERE -- you will love it!! Low lighting, a pleasant hum, and yummy smells greet you at the door. It's a rather intimate dining experience with a main dining room and some side rooms. It feels cozy even though the dining room was full. Food and drink: There's an open window into the kitchen where you can see the chefs bustling around. The pace of service was relaxed and Missy let us take our time. The extensive wine list mines the best Paso vintages and kicks it up a notch with Italian selections. Missy helped us pick an absolute winner -- a Bouchon blend. The fresh pasta was a star of the show: beet pasta sounds weird but was sublime with a fondutta sauce. The wild boar ragu was a special, served with beautiful pappardelle. Recommendations: Carpaccio was served with truffle oil, the octopus melted in your mouth, and the sea scallops were seared to a salty crunch with tender insides. Don't skip dessert: we tried 3 and they were all wonderful. We had molten chocolate cake, panna cotta with berry sauce, and tiramisu (i usually don't even like tiramisu but I LOVED this one). Thank you Il Cortile for a memorable meal and evening!
Enjoyed my evening with great service! Amazing delicious
Enjoyed my evening with great service! Amazing delicious meal! Highly recommend the beet spaghetti with caviar and a fondue Fontina. The colors looked pretty! The taste was of this dish was great!
Glad we made a reservation.
This place was fantastic! The pasta was mind blowing, wine paired so nicely with it all, and service was amazing. Will be back!
Nice Italian Restaurant
The service is swift but not rushed. Our server was attentive and we were never waiting on anything. The food was good and the portions are generous.
If I had to define this experience in one word!
If I had to define this experience in one word! "Perfection" the Food is insane so flavorful cooked to perfection. We had the artichoke soup, homemade fettuccine with pomodoro, osobuco with a rosemary risotto. The service was amazing the food next level. Ambience romantic but fun. I wish I would have taken more pictures. Jason is an amazing server.
The service is the only reason this is a one star review.
The food is always good. Our server treated us very poorly.

To start off I will admit the food was delicious, I am giving a 1 star review for the service. My husband and I walked in with our son who is 4 months old and the man seating us acted very confused about why we had a stroller with us. He was not very friendly or accommodating for us having a child- we had to make a suggestion of where to place the stroller and when we asked if we could place the stroller next to the table he said "If there is no other option" which we had to explain that our son can't sit up yet so there is no other option. When we sat down our server was not very friendly, she told us the specials but didn't try to talk to us at all or even acknowledge our son who was sitting on my husband's lap smiling at her. When my son got a little fussy I left the restaurant with him (before he made any scenes, he was just groaning a little when we left) and took him to the car. When my husband asked the server to box up our food to go she proceeded to tell him "next time you should go on care.com before going out". This restaurant is not kid friendly, we felt eyes on us from the moment we walked in and got cold looks from all the waitstaff while we were there. Because of this service we will not be eating here again.
Best dinner ever
3 friends & I were here for New Year's Eve. Oh my. Best. Fancy. Dinner. Ever. Staff are friendly & charming. Everything with a smile. Service was attentive. Food was outstanding. My veal chop was cooked perfectly. The Negroni was zesty. The rosé was delicious. We finished with delicious Panna cotta and fruit tart. Highly recommend.
Another Superb Dinner!
Another wonderful dinner. Hostess seated me at my favorite seat, which was very sweet. The pretty lady bartender remembered the fresh raspberry mocktail that I liked even without me asking (and it had been six months since I was last there!) ; the waiter and busboy remembered me too, which is darling and made me feel so welcome. Chef made me THE BEST linguini with a spicy tomato sauce; Panna cotta was smooth as silk. Il Cortile is a wonderful restaurant - for atmosphere, service and food. Looking forward to returning:)
A must in Paso Robles
We had dinner at Il Cortile last night and we were most impressed. We started with a Crostini con Burrata. Very good. Since it is white truffle season, we shared a risotto with tartufo bianco. The truffles are excellent this year. For the secondi, I had a veal chop, and my wife had spaghetti with seafood. The wine list was extensive and really well priced. Many were priced at the same price as if you were to buy them at a retail store. Carol the owner was a pleasure to talk with and a great host. Definitely worth a visit.
Nice but not exquisite
Not much else of interest was open on a Monday night so we tried Il Cortile. My girl had the lasagna and I, the wild boar fettuccine. Both were very nice although the wild boar was very mild (was hoping for more game flavour, which it usually does). The lasagna and also cheese on mine was a little goopy. The staff however were exceptional. Make sure to reserve as it was full and they have a little add-on canopy in front for the overflow.
Amazing Food
The most amazing homemade pasta we have had since we visited Italy recently , everything was tasteful and fresh . We definitely recommend this restaurant ti everyone .
Great dining
This is probably our favorite dinner spot in Paso Robles. We are always pleasantly surprised. Wonderful food and service.
Friendly staff, classy setting, excellent food.
We loved our dinner at Il Cortile. The bistro atmosphere was lively and inviting, the wait staff was friendly, professional and totally timely every step of the way, and the food was perfect. Melon and prosciutto, osso bucco, bronzino, scallops — each was exquisite. You may be able to get a table last minute but it’s worth booking well in advance to be sure of one.

I have a notice stating that my bid has been accepted and is awaiting transfer. The reservation is for the 18th, but the “moderator” said he will confirm booking by the 28th. Is this an indicator that I may not have a reservation?

Hey @EvocativeFold67, welcome to appointmenttrader! Once the reservation is in your portfolio, you definitely own the timeslot, the review team would not have approved the trade if the reservation wasn't confirmed - so you are going :-) Judging from your post you bid today and are going tomorrow - don't worry as long as you initiated the name transfer, you are good - the transfer service has to work with the opening hours of the reservation team of the respective venue. You will likely see the transfer confirmation a couple hours before your reservation time.
