Hopplá Bistro Interlaken Reviews from The Last Year
Outstanding Evening
We found our way to this quaint bistro on a cold April night after reading positive reviews. We were met by Norbert who sat us down and gave us the menus. Hoopla is a small bistro operated by Norbert and his mother Erika who are originally from Hungary. We were so impressed with our experience over the next 2 or so hours. We had an entree to share, 2 mains and dessert along with wine, beer and a spirit to finish. Norbert made several recommendations and we enjoyed a lovely chat with Erika The food and wine was outstanding and the warm service matched. A highlight of our stay in Interlaken.
Approved!
We had dinner at this place. We were looking for something sophisticated and we were pleasantly surprised. The starters were our favorites: tartare and fois gras! Exceptional! Also worth mentioning is the kindness and friendliness of the waiter Kristof, who made us feel welcomed and at home :) Thank you! I would happily go back!
Lovely homemade cooking like mama
Awesome food, great service and the cook could be my grandma. Very familiar setting with a nice bathroom too. Klein aber fein!
Amazing food and service!
Our waiter was awesome, making recommendations for not only our food but our drinks. The atmosphere was small and charming. But the food was divine! We had beef goulash, cabbage rolls, and pork tagliatelle, and enjoyed sharing our meals. Each was so flavorful and delicious! We highly recommend!
Incredible food and service!
Highly recommend eating here if you’re in Interlaken! We chose this place because it sounded interesting and the food ended up being so insanely delicious. Once we sat down the owner recommended a great glass of Riesling wine for our meal. To start, we got the lamb lettuce salad which was so fresh and yummy with a great dressing. We also had the beef gulash and catfish and both were equally delicious and wished I could keep eating them. We normally never had room for dessert but since the food was so good, I had to try one and the mascarpone raspberry roll we had was so yummy, it was worth the indulgence. On top of the great meal, the owner and his mother were both such a sweet and attentive team. You can tell they put a lot of love into their business and it made our dinner choice that much better.
Everything top, recommendable, real
'Real', warm hospitality. The small menu is just right and offers something to suit every taste. The duck breast was excellent and cooked to perfection. Nice, exciting wine selection with interesting wines. We would love to come back.
Best meal in Switzerland!
This was the best restaurant in Interlaken. Away from the busy streets, among the locals, you'll find this Hungary gem! The food was delicious, homemade and very authentic. We had the pork medallions with morel sauce and tagliatelle pasta, lamb lettuce salad and the goulash with spatzali. We ate our plates clean! The service was so fantastic, he spoke multiple languages, had great recommendations and made you feel at home. He even offered us a schnapps after the meal (as the Hungarians do) and it was a wonderful complement to the meal and overall experience! If you are in Interlaken and want wonderful food, off the beaten path and friendly service - go to Hoppla Bistro. *****

Forget trying to snipe reservations online by waking up early and booking top restaurants at Carbone or Tatiana or Cote or 4Charles. After 2.5 months of booking reservations by setting up alarms, waking up early to sell appointments. It’s very hard to cash out on this app. During cash out, you have to pay $5 fee +3% transactions fee and max payout per day is $150.
Advice to new users:
- do not mass book reservations
- fill bids only
- don’t try to book reservations online, you need connections and call the restaurant
After putting in about 40 hours of work, I’ve made about $750 sale on this platform but gotten paid $0. Take this with a grain of salt.

I’m sorry to hear these negative experiences some of you have experienced. There is definitely a learning curve. The main reason the listings are not selling is that too many new sellers have been listing hundreds if not thousands of reservations for sale. If there are 30 reservations listed for sale at the same restaurant on the same night maybe 2 will sell. That will leave 28 unsold reservations and if you want to sell you would have to be the lowest price listed. The value is gone if you have to drop your price to $10.
Several sellers have offered training but sadly no one seemed interested.
The money you have earned is yours but you just need to keep your numbers up.

I’m sorry to see your numbers so low with 397 unsold and zero sold. You should reach out to whoever sponsored you as a concierge intern. That person should be happy to help you get moving in the right direction. I have sponsored a few people and I always take the time to help them with their sales.

Yeah I did exactly what you just said not to do. Mass booked. Tried different markets. Got black listed on Resy. Found other oddball places people keep looking for but STILL have not made one sale. And it will statistically take me 100% of the next 100 sales to get paid per this new sell-through rule. I used this as a fun little side challenge during my down time at work and if any of the 600+ connections I added ever take off, it might be worth the “claim” Lol but to hear you say after $750 in sales you have yet to see a penny, I wish I had this advice 2 months ago myself before I made the mental commitment 🙄
