Herbsaint New Orleans Reviews from The Last Year
Always a great place to go while in New Orleans.
Amazing service and food is superb. Definitely will go back again.
A fantastic dinner of fresh and creative dishes.
I had the fish of the day, but we also had their baked Asiago and fried oysters. The service was top notch and our waiter was extremely knowledgeable about both the food, drinks, and restaurant. A++
HerbSaint was packed with flavor.
The drinks were poured to perfection. Each dish was full of flavor and flare. The short rib was our favorite. The short rib was beyond tender and seasoned to perfection. The house made spaghetti was delish and the egg too it to another level. The restaurant was charming, clean and wasn't overly noisy. This is a must try for a different type of culinary experience.

Loved everything about this place! Recommend to all my friends going to NOLA. Definitely coming back next time I'm in town.
My experience on today was less than stellar.
I expected to have a nice lunch with my partner, but was alarmed once offered seating at the front of the resturant, by the door. Mind you, there were plenty of spaces throughout the restaurant for two. As an interracial couple, we both felt discomfort by the treatment. after I complained to the host about seating - he then sat us in the back corner of the restaurant. The servers were also unpleasant. They never came to check in our table for refills, and dropped the ticket on the table once we finished our food. We wanted more drinks. We will not be back.
All I'm going to say is CRISPY DUCK.
Woahhh. Absolute perfection. Some places really get this dish wrong but boy does Herbsaint deliver.
Party of 7 enjoyed a wonderful lunch during Jazzfest.
Staff was fantastic and very professional. Food exceeded our already high expectations.
What a great restaurant! Great ambiance, staff greeted us
What a great restaurant! Great ambiance, staff greeted us as we walked in the door. Service was excellent and the food outstanding! We highly recommend this restaurant on St. Charles Ave. in New Orleans!
Good Food, Great Service
My daughter and I had a wonderful dinner and were lucky to get seated without a reservation. The room was crowded though and somewhat noisy. After missing lunch, we were famished so ordered several items to share. Loved the Gumbo (with chicken), the baked asiago, baked oysters, and the duck leg confit. I also enjoyed a Sazerac (drink), a local tradition. Our waiter was attentive, but not intrusive. There's also outside seating for those who want a quieter setting. Will visit again the next time we are in New Orleans!

Sat at the bar and was served promptly and friendly even though it was very busy. Restaurant has a nice vibe but it is New Orleans after all. For dinner I had the salad with a fried shredded pork patty which was very good. I also had the bolognese which also was very good.
Great find on a hot Friday evening in NOLA.
Right across from Lafayette Sqaure. Great menu and vibe. Wish they had better choice of light beers.
Great intro to NO food.
We ate here on our first night in NO. We were able to sit outside and watch the sights and the people. The food was excellent and so was the service.
Service didn't start off great as there were 3 empty tables
Service didn't start off great as there were 3 empty tables of 4 and when asked not to be seated at the one at the door they just said oh if you don't want this one then you need to wait another 30 minutes. We didn't have time so took the one by the door and realized later they were saving them for 'regulars' which is fine but just say that vs letting the table sit empty for 15 mins with no explanation. We really enjoyed the homemade spaghetti appetizer and the steak entree, which both really stood out. The duck and lamb for me were just ok, but others at the table enjoyed them! Our server was very nice, but didn't return too often to check on us. With all the great restaurants in the area it wouldn't be one I necessarily returned to.
It's just meh for $$$
This place is overrated. It definitely wasn't as good as I had heard. I expected way more in the food and service for the price and atmosphere.
Food, service, and atmosphere were great.
Fresh Snapper was delicious as was the Bavette steak.
Excellent Dining -- With an Unexpected Side of Entertainment
To start, a hat-tip to the Herbsaint staff for their flexibility and good humor -- dinner for two to celebrate her birthday -- sitting outside, which was fortunate. Unbeknownst to us, her friends had engaged an Elvis imitator to present her with balloons and a serenade -- which arrived during our cocktails, to the great entertainment of all present. One of the fine meals among many we enjoyed duriing our visit to the city. HIghlights were the fried oyster appetizer, duck leg confit as my main course and one of the finest among countless over the years, and a spicy side of baby carrots for a bit of extra zing. Easy to note this congenial spot as a "must return" on our next visit.
What a great place! I recommend sitting outside--much
What a great place! I recommend sitting outside--much quieter than inside. Please try their three signature dishes--gumbo, house made spaghetti (similar to a carbonara), and the Muscovy duck. All amazing. I've never been a gumbo fan, but this stuff will knock your socks off. Ditto for the Muscovy duck, which is marinated in duck confit (I.e, duck fat) and then seared. The meat literally falls off the bone. Our server Andrea was a kick. It was truly a perfect evening.
Nice place.
Service was great. We really enjoyed our time. Had apps. Drinks were spot on.
First stop in NOLA was a hit!
After we checked into our hotel, this was the first stop we hit. We just stumbled upon the spot randomly, but it was a real treat. I especially liked the citrus salad and Asiago dip. Super cute little restaurant!
A classic.
Food is not over thought. Solid food. Lively environment. Gumbo is top 3 in the city. Ceviche is amazing. Old school pace of dining where they actually let you enjoy your dining experience. A must in Nola
Still Wonderful
All restaurants are crazy busy during Mardi Gras, but this one shines. We've been to this restaurant several times over the years, and it continues to be outstanding. Food absolutely stellar, as was service. Setting is terrific as is lighting. The gumbo is to die-for. My husband loves the duck, and I had the oysters which were the best! Don’t miss this one.
Best flavored dishes? Home made spaghetti which was intense
Best flavored dishes? Home made spaghetti which was intense with flavor but not salty at all. And banana brown butter tart - not too sweet, just the right ending to a great meal. "Jumbo" shrimp was not so jumbo, LOL. And my search for a great gumbo will still go on. Services were attentive. Not 'you read my mind' absolutely fabulous, but really good when asked. Ambiance was interesting. Boho bistro vibe. Tables were set very close to each other, like I could bump the back of my head into guest sat behind me if I laughed hard. :) Oh, and the prices. About $5-6 higher than what you see on the online menus. Mardi Gras prices that have not adjusted back? One has to wonder. Good to see what the rave is about in this town.
Just here to add ANOTHER 5-star review because everything
Just here to add ANOTHER 5-star review because everything we ordered was delicious from start to finish. Menu is on the pricey side, but it's SO worth it. Service is immaculate. We went around 4 p.m. when it was slower and saw all of the servers combing over every table again to make sure things were spotless. Wonderful place for first-timers in NOLA who want to try something Southern that won't disappoint!
A disappointed second-class customer
We booked a table for two well in advance for a trip to NOLA as part of our honeymoon trip. Upon arrival, we were seated at a table for two in a row of four tables, all sharing a back bench. Unfortunately, the tables were so close together that they had to be moved every time someone wanted out. Our planned romantic meal was dominated by loud conversations at the tables on either side of us. Our table was butt swiped every time other diners got up. And although the food was lovely, we felt like second-class customers in comparison to tables of four. The dining experience was sacrificed for the sake of profit. If a diner cannot get out from their table without asking strangers who are eating to move their table, the tables are TOO close together. Ultimately, we were disappointed .
Wow! Amazing food and service.
We are so pleased with our choice and if we are ever back in New Orleans we are headed to Herbsaint!
Spectacular food, fabulous service.
A wonderful dining experience. Highly recommend this restaurant
I DID MY AFTER GRADUATION HERE AND I WILL NEVER FORGET IT
I DID MY AFTER GRADUATION HERE AND I WILL NEVER FORGET IT 100/100 such a great spot! I assure you they accomplished and over accommodated me and my family. thank you so much!
Incredible
This was our first visit to Herbsaint. It has been on my list of must trys for awhile now. We had a party of 6 and ordered everything on the appetizer menu plus a few entrées. The service was top notch as was the food. My absolute favorites were the waygu bolognese and the lamb skewers for appetizers. We had the jumbo shrimp as our entree and it was so good! It is definitely a place I will visit again and recommend to my friends.
Great place to check out for your birthday!
We came here for a friend's birthday and the food and drink selections were very delicious! The prices are a bit on the higher end but it is expected for the type of place and occasion. We had a wonderful evening!
Conventioneers Behaving Badly
We spent an evening in a boiler factory disguised as a restaurant. The noise level was deafening as drunken conventioneers were at full throttle. The service was very slow and the food not hot. Three different managers spoke to us, but all admitted that this was the norm, not unusual. One manager mentioned that they already had one patron pass out a table that evening. Another said that one group had been asked to leave. Evidently, the place is on convention's "must do" list so beware and take your ear plugs if you must go. Many other better options in NOLA.
Gourmet comfort food
We had the gumbo and spaghetti to start. Deep roux in the gumbo and the egg added a rich creaminess to the spaghetti. Both the chicken and duck were great entrees, but the duck was the best I’ve ever had.
Herbsaint! great food mediocre service
Delicious and perfectly presented food!!! Truely an amazing restaurant and you have to check it out if you’re in New Orleans!!! We were seated in the inside room which is very cosy and nice. Our waiter was super helpful but our waitress was plain rude and abrupt!!!! No hospitality skills none whatsoever!!!! Pity because it ruined our lunch somehow

It can be under your name or a name you choose! Some reservation offers already include the AppointmentTrader Transfer Service which will transfer the reservation in to your name. If its not included you can add it on after buying the reservation for a small fee. One thing on that though: As many reservations become available at last minute, taking a reservation in someone else name is quick and great for privacy. Most reservations on AT are listed with a virtual phone number, so all you need to do is present the phone number at the hostess stand and you are good to go!
