Great little find. Around corner from Mimaru hotel.
Cute little restaurant (only takes 15 or so people). Friendly staff who spoke English. Yummy dumplings. Quick. Well priced. Perfect for a cheap yummy family dinner.

Maybe the best gyoza you will ever have. Don't miss this place. It's not easy to arrive there as there are no public transportation near the restaurant. I got there via Uber. The place seems to be always crowded, so make a plan B in case the wait is too long.

Hidden and in a secluded position from the more touristy neighborhoods, this small restaurant which offers only and exclusively fantastic pork Gyoza is worth a visit.

Top quality gyoza in a tiny restaurant. We stayed nearby at the Mimaru Suites Kyoto Shijo and paid a visit based on their book of recommendations. And what a recommendation it is. This place is mentioned by the Michelin guide for its gyoza. Thatโs all they do, and they do it brilliantly. Choose 6 or 12 gyoza with or without accompaniments. Drinks are similarly simple and cheap. We left with full bellies having had a brilliant night. Staff speak great English and even put up with my rubbish Japanese skills. If youโre in the area, go here. No questions, just do it.

Very good gyoza in this little restaurant off the main street, excellent meal, very friendly staff, I recommend this place
Be the first to ReplyExcellent gyoza, simple menu and comfortable inside
It was very close to a Mimaru hotel we stayed at, and we just wanted to get something simple for dinner. The menu is as simple as it gets, pick a different # of gyoza and sides you want and you are done, The Gyoza were delicious, fresh and crispy, and they come with tasty oils and sauce on the side. If I lived nearby, I would probably be visiting this place often. They do one thing really well so you can be guaranteed a good meal if you like gyoza of course. The place is small, but my family of 4 were able to sit straight away at the bar.

Stumbled upon this delicious gyoza bar in Kyoto as it was close to our apartment accommodation (Mimaru kyoto nishinotoin takatsuji). A very small restaurant (maybe 14 seats), visited on Saturday night around 8.30pm. There was a line out the front however you put your name on the waiting list and only waited a few mins to be seated. As there was only 2 of us we were seated at the bar which was nice to see the action in the small kitchen. The menu is very simple (only 1 type of gyoza) and you select a set (with 6 or 12 gyoza and sides such as miso, rice etc). Gyoza were delicious and the chef (who took our order) also suggested to try with his chilli oil which was delicious. Highly recommend for a quick delicious meal in Kyoto
Be the first to ReplySimple. Perfect.
This is what I like about Japanese restaurants: they make one thing and do it exceptionally well. Here they have perfected the Gyoza, with a simple menu just consisting of number of Gyoza paired with some pickles and rice. You may have to wait a bit outside but the wait is short and worth it. We found out later that this restaurant also has a bib gourmande from Michelin. They have a beautiful backstory on the Gyoza which they call โlittle package of loveโ.

Good value set menu with yummy gyozas. Great tasting potato salad too, although there isn't much else on the menu. Nice service and ambience.
Be the first to ReplyGreat gyozas at great value
Decently priced for what you get, good value - 12x gyozas, rice, miso and pickles for 760ยฅ. Small but homey feel. English menu available. Staff were very lovely and helpful. Loved the gyoza flavour and miso provided. We went for lunch and did not have to wait. The restaurant was full of locals which is always a good sign. Would 100% visit and enjoy their food again!

We walked about 25mins from Shinkyogoku-Dori to this place. We when there 5mins before it opened as we read that this is a really popular place and we didnโt want to wait too long as were already hungry. And thank god there was no queue. Right when it open we and another couple were seated first and people started coming in and by the time we left, the place was full. The place wasnโt big had about 7 tables and 3 bar seats.
We ordered the Gyoza set. The set came with 12 dumplings, rice, soup and some pickles. The Gyoza was very well pan fried as it stayed crispy till the very end. The taste was good but not surprising. It was a warm and filling meal.
