Gordon Ramsay Hell's Kitchen Lake Tahoe Stateline Reviews from The Last Year
I love Gordon Ramsey - I have always enjoyed watching
I love Gordon Ramsey - I have always enjoyed watching Hell's Kitchen. Husband and I finally made it to dinner at the location in Lake Tahoe at Harvey's. Unfortunately, I have to say...not what we expected and a bit disappointed. We ordered lobster risotto, which risotto was bit bland and lobster pretty salty. New york strip steak, meat was a bit tough and a little beyond medium rare and also no flavor. AND then we had we believe a pound of king crab leg which was ok and we appreciated shell was cut for easier access, HOWEVER $140 FOR 1 SMALL LEG - CUT INTO 5-6 PIECES? TOTAL BILL $250 FOR : 3 ITEMS AND 2 ICED TEAS Also, it took sometime to get our food. I have to be honest, we most likely will pass up Hell's Kitchen as an option for dinning in the future. No offense to Gordon Ramsey as Im sure he doesnt have control over each restaurant. THE PRICE DOES NOT match the quality of food. For $250 the food should be absolutely amazing! For those who had a great experience and your taste buds and tummies were satisfied, Im glad it was a great one for you.
Sat at the Bar with my boyfriend.
We came for the Sticky Toffee Pudding but once we sat we decided to indulge into some apps. We got the Kushi oysters (you can't go wrong with Kushi) then the Lobster Rissoto! So yummy, we also got the seared scallops, these were okay, the sear was amazing but the sweet potato puree wasn't really that great, reminded me of baby food but I'm a texture person so I'm not fond of purees in general. We were in town for our anniversary, which my boyfriend had mentioned to me and our amazing Bartender Lindsey overhead and sent us out complementary anniversary sticky toffee puddings! I'm in the service industry also so I love how she overhead him and took action to make our night more special! We came back later in the night to grab another sticky toffee Pudding because it's THAT good!
Wonderful evening at an amazing restaurant!
This was an amazing experience. Courteous and professional welcome from the host, we were seated promptly at our reserved time. Warm greeting from our server, offered beverages right away. Our meal was outstanding- I'm gluten free and I had so many options to choose from. We had shrimp cocktail and lobster risotto (hold the crispy onions to accommodate my diet) to start- both exceptional. We both ordered the filet oscar, it was so tender we could almost cut it with a fork. Yes, the restaurant is loud- but we could still have a conversation. And yes, it is on the pricey side- but for a celebration dinner, it was absolutely worth it. One of the most enjoyable meals we've ever had.

My friends and I were in town for the weekend and we decided to eat here for her birthday! We did a walk in (1 hour wait on a Saturday evening- THEY HAD TO TAKE US ON TIME) since we were a big group. We were sat in a private room towards the back of the restaurant which was extremely necessary considering how loud we were during dinner. Our server was extremely nice and informative with the menu. The food was amazing! Will def come back to this restaurant again!
Celebrated my 40th birthday here, was super excited, but
Celebrated my 40th birthday here, was super excited, but very disappointed. Food wasn't all that, my beef Wellington was so little and my lobster risotto tasted like cheese rice. Service was ok, they definitely did not like that we brought in our cake but was told by the local bakery that it was ok to bring In our cake because she's done it before. I'm giving them 2 stars because they gave us free dessert for our troubles of not being able to cut our cake. The experience was not that great and would probably not go here again. You would expect with the amount of money you pay over here that you would get delicious food, wonderful service, and great overall experience, but it was the opposite.
We really enjoyed our evening at Hell's Kitchen.
We felt very welcome when we checked in and our server was great. Our meal did not disappoint - the lobster risotto and seared scallops were definitely the stars of the dinner. We also had the beef wellington and pork chop, as well as the brussels sprouts and cauliflower. For dessert we had the sticky toffee pudding and chocolate sin cake. The sticky toffee pudding was delicious! The only thing I felt could have been improved was that that the food could have been hotter when it was brought out. Some of the plates were cool. However I still gave 5 stars as the overall experience was great.
Ordered a medium rare dry aged New York strip, since there
Ordered a medium rare dry aged New York strip, since there weren't any good vegetarian options on the very limited menu. It came out medium well, and the shiatsu peppers were RAW! You'd think with all the yelling Gordon does on TV about standards that the staff could get something as basic as a steak and some roasted peppers right. My family's food came out good but they preferred the steak and wine reduction I make at home. Overall after wanting to go here for years and finally getting in last week I really don't think the food was at the level of the prices they ask and it's definitely not Michelin star worthy. The lack of sides of veggies was also disappointing, a few spinach leaves and some undercooked peppers was all that came out with the steaks.
Hell’s Kitchen Tahoe was great
The food was amazing. My husband got the beef Wellington which was pretty small but the flavor was amazing. I got the filet mignon which was amazing. It didn’t come with anything else so ordered side of potatoes which were not fully cooked. We got a side of Mac and cheese which was lovely. Very pricey but it was a great meal. I’d go back. Don’t expect it to be HK in LA or Vegas. It’s much smaller. Service was excellent!
My boyfriend and I celebrated our anniversary here.
He is a huge fan of Gordon Ramsay! One of our bucket list! I just wasn't expecting that it will be inside the casino. I did not like the fact that when I walked in inside it smelled like cigarettes. Oh well got over it. We tried two appetizers Waygu Meatballs, Pan Seared scallops and Shrimp Cocktail (I think) I was savoring every piece I had and really enjoyed it. I can't explain how happy I was. A big recommendation. Food came out too long but I had patience within me. LOL We picked two Prix Fixe Signature Beef Wellington of course. Omg I would want one now. It is perfectly cooked it melted in my mouth just how it should be. I can't wait to have some more. Everyone there was so friendly, We also had a great time with our server took time to helped me out with my cocktails. Thank you we will definitely come back here!
I feel like this restaurant is all hype.
I did enjoy the lobster dish with the risotto along with the scallops dish. The dry aged steak dish wasn't all that nor was the beef Wellington that people kept telling me to try.

We had another fabulous meal here tonight to celebrate my partner's birthday. As always, the food was delicious, the service was stellar (TYSM Patty), and the atmosphere just can't be beat. We shared the scallops, my partner had the NY strip with beautiful oyster mushrooms, I had the beef Wellington (as a mostly vegetarian, I had to go big or go home), and we had pint sized birthday sticky toffee pudding. Everything was melt-in-your-mouth delicious! If you're looking for a special night out, we highly recommend HK at Stateline.
Food - 5 stars.
Price - expensive, as expected for a destination restaurant in a great destination, steps from Heavenly Village in South Lake Tahoe. We could not pass up the 3 course Prix Fixe option - scallops for appetizer, beef Wellington, and sticky toffee pudding. The sea scallops were cut in half at the equator and perfectly seared, served over a butternut squash purée (right amount, not too much) with a small micro green salad. The Wellington was a perfect medium rare - individual portions not sliced off of a long tenderloin. If you weren't full after that the sticky toffee pudding was quite large - and a likely winner with the younger person who may really need a bit more and love this dessert. One star off for beverages that arrived AFTER appetizers. Two of us had the wine flight and there were 3 cocktails. One wine drinker had a cocktail. The cocktails should have come out before the appetizer - with the first champagne served at the same time. The person with the cocktail and the champagne should have gotten the cocktail first and then the champagne. That was the worst service moment. Liquids from the right, solids from the left, please! The prix fixe menu was sooooo easy-the expectations for the servers were not in alignment with the menu, the ambiance, or the price. Our lead server did a fine job with holding dessert for a couple of minutes so the ice cream didn't melt. It is likely that another table was a hair faster than us and got what was originally intended for us. Except for the bar/dining room botch, the pace is service was fine. Our reservation was for a Tuesday in a ski town - they did not turn the table after us. Skiers go to bed early. Glad we had this dinner at Tahoe instead of the Foxwoods casino near where we live.
The food was amazing, hands down the wife, and I been
The food was amazing, hands down the wife, and I been waiting to go 4 ever, so I surprised her made the reservation, and man, oh man, food was on point. It's super small for some reason. I thought it would be big like in the show. Services were above and beyond. the only reason I gave 4 stars was that it was very, very expensive
Excellent service.
PAPPY 12 FOR 65?!?!?!? Oysters paired well. And the meatballs were on point. Wes was our bar tender. Knowledgeable and attentive. Definitely repeating with this spot.
Always enjoy Hell's
Nice clean place... host very nice.... Waiter really knows the menu. Everything was so yummy... the kitchen looks great
Cozier than other HKs, but not disappointing
We've dined at several other locations of this restaurant and have always enjoyed it. The Tahoe location is one of the smaller ones, but that means it was also less noisy than others have been. The cocktail list is also a bit shorter here. We tried the roasted cauliflower and found it oversauced, but our bass and filet were very good, as always. We'll dine at HK again, but wouldn't mind seeing some new menu items.
Delicious! Loud!
The food was excellent, not ridiculously expensive ($30-80 entrees), and the service was professional. Hated the atmosphere. It's loud. Really LOUD! MUCH TOO LOUD for a fine dining experience, so much so that it detracted from the evening. The casino is also dated and run down, which adds nothing to the experience. As for the meals, the braised short rib was fork tender, the toffee butterscotch dessert was a total mouthgasm. The food lives up to the hype. The rest, not so much.
All HYPE…
You’re paying for a name. I love GR…but the experience at Lake Tahoe was average at best…and I’m being generous. Took 20 min to have our order taken. Water refills were grossly delayed. I would’ve ordered wine but wow ($$$$$$). I definitely expect an up charge for alcohol and I have zero problems paying for quality. But good grief…$25/glass? Come on. Other reviews reported the service was top notch. Tonight…well…not so much. It was hum drum. Oh…prepare to not be able to have a conversation…mercy it was LOUD. Save your money and skip this location. You won’t regret missing the meal.
Worth it
Lobster risotto is the best. Great experience wonderful service. I can’t wait until Wolf opens up. We love Harvey’s hotel and Harrahs gambling. Summer or winter it’s like our second Tahoe home.
Worth The Experience
This was a fantastic experience. I chose to come here because I was really curious about the food. I really wanted to know if it was going to be good/edible. The food was great, service was quick, ambiance just like the show. I had the Mac and cheese amazing. Lobster risotto- this is probably the best risotto I have ever had. My husband’s scallops and Wellington were just lovely. The dessert…the highlight. Yes I will be going to the other locations. It is worth the experience. There are still things in the menu for me to try.
tourist trap. save your money
tourist trap we were all cited for a special night out. I will say the food was great. but the price paid meant it should have been. every thing else was sad. ugly cramped room. rude hurried non- greeting. disheveled busy server. cattle chute approach. clientele in hoodies and jeans. noisy. impersonal. it was ugh. im treated better at applebees. the casino is cheesy and there is zero ambience.
Hubby’s birthday dinner was delish!
We ate here on a Tuesday evening to celebrate my husband’s birthday. The food was outstanding and the service was impeccable. Our wait person, Sean, was so helpful and attentive providing us with an evening to remember. I had read some of the slightly negative comments on Trip Advisor and was really on the look out for problems at the restaurant. We had none. The beef Wellington was superb, just like Sean.
