I do not recommend staying here.
The pool was the only nice thing here. Customer service was not great! My phone in my room did not work, and the shower water kept running and would not shut off. I made a complaint to front desk and they said I would not be charged incidentals and resort fee and was still charged!! I asked for a manager to call me like they said they would and its 5 days later NO ONE HAS CALLED ME YET!! I would not stay here again! Elevators were slow too!
Be the first to ReplyOn the third morning of a four-day stay at The Golden
On the third morning of a four-day stay at The Golden Nugget in Las Vegas, we were awakened at 6AM by water coming through the ceiling and hitting a desk. It started out as a bunch of drips landing loudly on the desk--loud enough to wake us up!--and quickly turned into a flow of water. I immediately notified staff of the problem but it took them an hour to get to the room. While waiting, we cleared all of our personal possessions away from the area and put towels down. After a maintenance person arrived and looked at the damage (and the still-flowing water), he informed us we would be given another room and someone would bring up the key. This all transpired quite calmly and matter-of-factly. Sleep was not possible for me after all this, so I went down to watch a soccer game. I was gone for three hours, but when I returned to the room, we still had not received any information or keys for the new room. I went to the front desk and they didn't seem to have any knowledge of the water situation or our new room, but eventually they got it taken care of and gave me new keys. There was no offer to help move our luggage, so we had to pack up and move everything ourselves. The new room smelled like a cigar lounge, even though all guest rooms at the hotel are ostensibly smoke-free. They offered to deodorize, which they did during a time that we told them we would be out of the room, and that did alleviate the smell quite a bit. We lost about 10 hours--the better part of day--before all this was done. Not to mention being awoken at 6AM with a little mini disaster while on vacation! When we checked out of the hotel, I described all the issues and the clerk offered to remove the resort fees for our stay. I asked to speak with the manager and waited close to an hour, but the manager never came out. I was told the hotel could not remove any room charges because we booked through a third party--Expedia. In order to get any compensation, I was told to talk with a security manager and file a report. I waited another 45 minutes for the security manager, who then had me describe the entire situation again. It really felt like the security manager's role was to intimidate me. And why refer me to a manager that is not authorized to make adjustments to the hotel charges in the first place, only to have that manager never appear and then refer me to yet another manager who could also not do anything? After all this time trying to get resolution, through multiple discussions where I never raised my voice, I did not have more time to file a report. I had a work deadline that I had to take care of. And after that we had to leave for the airport. After returning home, I contacted Expedia and they called The Golden Nugget to seek resolution on my behalf. Once again, The Golden Nugget refused to take any action. I was very disappointed with how we were treated, and so much of my time wasted. This is a busy hotel casino, and you would think the staff would be better able to handle issues that inevitably come up. The water problem wasn't caused by the hotel--it was a guest that left water running so long that it damaged the room below AND the room below that--yet the hotel staff's response to that and the follow-on events was bungled with no attempt made to remediate. You would think they would want to treat guests like, well, guests. I will never stay at the Golden Nugget again.

Remote on tv terrible, beds clearly not queens, hookers everywhere after midnight near video poker looking for drunk men. Felt very sleazy

This place was amazing I expected a lot less for what I paid. They exceeded my expectations. Only complaint was the remote for the tv only worked half the time and the beds were small. I am guessing it was a full size not queen. Website said could fit 4 people but it was uncomfortable with the 4 of us there. Will be returning but upgrading the room. The pool was awesome weather was windy and cold but pool temp was comfortable and my kids loved it.

Notified the front desk upon check-in about shower not working properly. The front desk receptionist confirmed to pull the handle as hard as I could to turn shower on. I did that and the shower shower handle was loose and broke, but the water did turn on. The tub was backing up with water almost to the middle of your shins. It was the worst experience staying at the Golden Nugget Las Vegas for four days having to deal with a disgusting backed up shower. We had three people staying in the room, each person had to wait at least 15 minutes for the tub to drain so the next person could shower. The front desk had no other rooms for accommodations to move us to another room that had a working shower. We were staying at the Golden Nugget Las Vegas for a business conference, which next year we will most likely switch to another hotel location.

when we had checked in at the hotel we had planned on going to the pool and we were all so excited to get in the pool until that we had heard that the pool had closed at 5 and at that it was 3:45 at the time we checked in

I showed up on my reservation date and could not park because their structures was 100% full after circling twice. Security guard told me to "keep circlin, it's the only parking we got." Valet was down due to an accident, cars lining the homeless strewn streets also waiting to park. Front desk told me they'd credit my money and never did. I've tried calling every day and sit on hold forever only to be transferred and transferred indefinitely.

I do not recommend staying here the TVs don't go up past 30 so you can't turn them up. When it's loud outside we stayed in a room and in the middle of the night the ceiling started to leak ruining make up curling iron then when they moved us to a new room, it was the furthest away from the elevator you could get with no view of anything but the side of a wall. And then, when you go to complain about the leaky room, they make you fill out all kinds of forms and try to call their stupid assistance hotline. I called it four times and got four different voicemails. They said that they would takeoff the resort fee of $128, but they didn't.
Be the first to ReplyThis place is a scam.
They convinced me to upgrade my room to the gold tower upon arrival. Apparently the room I got on Hotwire was in a old, inhabited tower, that didn't have cleaning service or coffee makers (the agent at the front desk said) so for $30 extra per night I could be in a room that had AC, coffee and came with daily cleaning as long as I text them ahead of time. Well. The upgraded room was dirty, hair all over the shower, cracks in the ceiling, and the A/C made this noise that the maintenance dept came twice to fix but never got fixed. Meanwhile they were there a time before that because it wasn't producing cold air, and was only hot air. I was also told with my "upgrade" that cleaning service was included if we text them ahead of time. That was a lie. I text for my room to be cleaned, got a response it would, and never in the entire stay, was my room cleaned once. Also the coffee in the room was free (4 pods) as long as me and my guest didn't drink more than 4 coffees during our 4 night stay. So a half a pod a day for each of us, or we would be charged. Overall this was not a good experience and I would not recommend my friends or family to stay here, let alone be sold and "upgrade". I definitely feel taken by this hotel. On top of a resort fee which included not one thing besides spotty WiFi. Total rip off. Stay in a newer hotel and avoid this one at all costs.
Be the first to ReplyHorrific BLACK MOLD IN THE SHOWER! Room 16123.
I didn't notice it until the end of our 2 day stay and when I complained about at they said they wouldn't do anything about it cause we were on our way out. I said I would complain about it to the health department she said go ahead. She was rude and didn't seem to care.
Be the first to ReplyMy room was hot despite setting the temp to 61.
The floor was dirty. Loud, so loud they provide you with ear plugs and write a cute little sign saying they are complimentary? The doors from the lobby to the valet are stairs only so you have to lob your luggage up them. One of four elevators to the Gold tower were working. Don't bother this hotel is ghetto.
Be the first to ReplyHotel Parking has enough available slots of self parking if
Hotel Parking has enough available slots of self parking if you want to save money on a valet. Hotel reception line moves at a reasonable pace. We went on a weekend, so it took us around 15 minutes to check in. Casino floor heavily smells like cigarettes, enough to make your eyes water in about 30 minutes. Ventilation could use some help. It's best to get non-smoking rooms so that you get a chance for a breather from the casino floor. :) And the pool was closed, which is weird for a weekend. We should've asked in advance if it was going to be open. They have a nice slide that goes through an aquarium, which we hoped to experience hehe. But alas.
Be the first to ReplyI just stayed at the Golden Nugget Hotel in Las Vegas on
I just stayed at the Golden Nugget Hotel in Las Vegas on December 14th and 15th. My room was in the Gold Tower and due to the high level of noise from outside I requested that they move me to the Carson tower which was further from Fremont St. The phone attendant said they had a room and because it was less expensive and a step down from the Gold tower they would refund me part of my nightly fee. At checkout they claimed there was nothing in the computer and they could not give me what was promised due to the current rate being higher. The hotel is also very old and dirty. It was build in 1946 and looks like nothing has been updated since that time. The bathroom tub was turning yellow and there was soap scum and mold around the shower faucet. This was the first and last time I stay at Golden Nugget.
Be the first to ReplyFremont Street is not the place to stay anymore, it's
Fremont Street is not the place to stay anymore, it's extremely overpriced, especially in the hotel, and stepping outside the high trafficked tourist area is very unsafe. Everything about the hotel and our stay was dissapointing. The fact that they still charged exorbitant "resort fees" when the entire pool, and pool lounge and bar area was completely closed to guests was insulting. The room was filthy with mold in the shower... bugs hitchhiked home in our suitcase as well. ***Do not book with Expedia*** I understand that we couldn't cancel our reservation upon checking in to that disgusting room, but instead requested to shorten our stay. Both the hotel front desk and Expedia confirmed that it wouldn't be a problem but had to 'verify' with the other. After days of runaround, we were notified on the last day of our stay that our request had been rejected. Staying at the Golden Nugget (between resort fees and everything being so overpriced) we blew our budget, even skipping meals. I am just so heartbroken about this trip, I don't want anyone else to make the same mistake! 1 - avoid Fremont Street 2 - do not stay at the Golden Nugget 3 - DO NOT book with Expedia.
Be the first to ReplyGreat place to visit.
Casino Host Jason Celia is fantastic. He Goes above and beyond to look after Penny and I e Very time we fly in from Canada. We wouldn't stay anywhere else. Five stars.
Be the first to ReplyWent to the bar 46, was gonna play some video poker.
While sitting there the bartender, Rob, passed and looked at me several times, don't say anything to me, then I finally said I'd like a drink, he said cash or charge, I said I'm playing, then he just walked away! Started talking to his co workers, i just shook my head like wow. So this other bartender saw me shaking head and came by and asked me if i need a drink i said yes i thought Rob was getting me one but he isn't. So the bartender got me my drink and gave me an excuse that I had to play 4-5 times before they can give me a drink. Bullshit cause right after that this Caucasian chick sat couple seats away, Rob was right on her asking what can he get her!! So discriminating, what just because I'm Japanese he gives me a hard time! She wasn't playing 4-5 times before he asked her. I don't care how long Robs been working there he should be fired! Bullshit Rob! Golden Nugget shouldn't stand for that kind of attitude!!! Won't be gambling there and I'll tell my other friends too!!
Be the first to ReplyI am a local and a member of their players club.
I have stayed at the Golden Nugget about five times previously each time spending a lot of money. Not high roller money but a decent amount. Normally I am offered free rooms but this time I needed a room on a Saturday night so I understood I'd have to pay. I am a manager in the hotel industry so I totally get it.I attempted to book a room online five days before our arrival. Their website displayed a base rate of $209 for Saturday night. I contemplated booking for about two minutes when a pop-up appeared saying we will take 25% off if you book now thus dropping the rate to $156.75. I was like "sold". I get to the transaction page and get an error message advising me that I need to call instead. I try twice more...same thing. I finally give up and call only to reach their robo-agent. The robot completes the entire transaction and charges me a base rate of $229. Even more than the original rate I saw online!!! I was thinking, no biggie, I'll call, talk to a human and get this whole thing straightened out. Ha! I call back and hold for 55 minutes waiting to talk to a person. No one ever answers. Now I'm like, surely when I get to the property front desk will get this whole thing resolved. So my husband and I get to the front desk last night. The front desk agent who claimed his name was Eric was decent at first but when I explained what happened online and showed him a screenshot I took of the rate from their website, his attitude changed instantly. This snot nosed kid became so belligerent I couldn't believe it. He kept telling me how much the room was going for tonight and how full they were. I understand the same day rates were high but I booked and paid five days ago. "Eric" even alleged I forged the screenshot?!?! I asked him to speak to a manager which he did begrudgingly only to come back with the same response.I then asked if I could speak to the manager myself. The woman that came out claimed her name was Christie. "Christie" had the same unbelievable retorts. She told me it was Saturday (you're kidding) and informed me rates fluctuate (I did mention I'm in the hotel industry as well, right?). She was so condescending, my husband decided to cancel the reservation which she was happy to do. All of this over about $70?!?! It wasn't about the money, we have money, it was the principal. Hotel rooms aren't the money maker. You want people in the property to gamble which is what we came to do. GN would have made back the difference from us at least 20x over that night. Instead, both Golden Nugget employees provided the worst service I've ever encountered. I advise everyone to book somewhere else where they care about the service they provide. There are too many options in Las Vegas to treat customers, especially their players club members, this way.
Be the first to ReplyAbsolutely disgusting.
Cockroaches in the bathroom, sink stopped up, plugs are too big, empty water bottles in room, used lube in bedside table.
Be the first to ReplyThis place doesn't even deserve one star.
It's very dirty and old, you take a shower where the water is leaking outside the shower, this is the highest priority rooms I'm talking about, when they charge you extra to "UPGRADE". I found a cockroach in our room where they've done nothing about it. Their service and security sucks as well. In the check-in line someone stole my luggage and by the time the security showed up, the guy who stole my luggage was out of the property! They didn't even give me a toothbrush after seeing I lost my life in front of their eyes. We stayed there last year as well, we went back bc of the points but we should not fall for the points. I would never ever even get close to this dirty, horrible service hotel regardless of fake points!
Be the first to ReplyGolden Nugget has been one of the nicer Hitel/Casinos in
Golden Nugget has been one of the nicer Hitel/Casinos in the downtown Las Vegas area for years. They renovated the place before the last time we stayed there and it was pretty nice. Our last trip to Vegas we only met some friends for a quick lunch and didn't actually say there. However, it still seemed to be fairly clear in the common areas, unlike some of the other older casinos around the area. Circa is probably the nicest one in the area, but Golden Nugget takes a solid 2nd and they're probably much cheaper than Circa. Chime in and let me know what your favorite is in the downtown area.
Be the first to ReplyThe rooms at the Golden Nugget were nice but not having hot
The rooms at the Golden Nugget were nice but not having hot water for my 3-day stay the water was ice cold so needless to say did not get a shower till I got back home . Call the front desk the attitude was well what are you we supposed to do about it . I read another review where somebody says that the pool closed early and it shouldn't since they paid a resort fee the resort fee is to pay for the new stadium for the Raiders which is totally ridiculous due to the fact that almost cost more for the resort fee then the room rates .No coffee makers in the room no hair dryers no room service stayed at better Motel 6s then to go nugget .
Be the first to ReplyDisgusting hotel with horrible service, dirty rooms, and
Disgusting hotel with horrible service, dirty rooms, and seedy guests. I was going to keep this feedback private and gave it only to the hotel but after doing so they passive aggressively told me "thanks for the positive comment". So now it also gets shared hereThis hotel had a slight revival which I was quite impressed by for the last 15 years or so. Unfortunately, that rally has come to an end. The crowd has gotten seedier in the area (again) and the hotel just seems "grungy". But for me the last straw is that you now require room cleaning requests to be submitted the day prior. I sure wish our front desk associate would have mentioned that since it was our only chance to request cleaning (we checked in around 8pm). It saddens me that hotels have used COVID as an excuse to permanently cut costs by removing basic amenities that have been standard for decades. Congratulations!!! You saved a handful of dollars by not cleaning my room...and now I will never return to the Golden Nugget.
Be the first to ReplyStay in the Rush tower.
Rooms are good and location is great for parking or even valet. Rooms are much nicer than Gold which is right by the front door. Located in good location on Fremont. Always stay here.
Be the first to ReplyI have stayed here in the past but after returning here
I have stayed here in the past but after returning here after 9 years I wouldn't return. The rooms are old and outdated. Not enough parking for guests. We had to use vallet one time just for 5 hours and paid 20.00 not including tip. We paid resort fees each night when nothing open like pools or hot tubs. We didn't have a frig or microwave in our room. They put us so far from everything. No room service while there. I called a few times regarding fees charged to talk to a Manager and I still till this day haven't had a return call back. Remind you we checked out New Year's Day 1/1/23. It's now 1/6/23. Note to self: if you book through 3rd party like I did on Expedia you can't access Fremont on New Year's Day you have to purchase bracelets for an additional charge no one told us this. We would have never booked there for New Year's Day. Again why are we paying over 40.00 a night resort fees when you can't go outside??! Doesn't make sense. Miscommunication because when I checked in they Told us to ask front desk forThem. Just to to be told something different the next day.
Be the first to Reply--Like: Before you book your hotel room.
Make sure you get Gold Tower. Why? Because it's super quiet, very good price, super clean, close to everything. I see people complain about how it was noisy and loud Golden Nugget is... well it's because those people chose the cheapest rooms right beside Fremont street. Don't make that wrong choice. 1 more thing, I see lots of complaints about how the casinos or the hotel area smells like cigarettes, well EVERY hotel and casinos smell like that. Get over it, you'll get used to it. I loved my hotel room at the Gold Tower, I had such wonderful quiet sleep, and I had soooo much fun! I will come back again!--Dislike: The only thing I was a little upset about is that it did not have a fridge or a microwave. I had takeout at some point and my food was cold and really needed a microwave. There is no vending machines either. They have Essential stores but they'd be closed sometimes for break or some will be closed for a while.* I loved this hotel very much for my first time, I will come back! Thank you Golden Nugget for giving me a good experience!
