Gianni's At The Former Versace Mansion Miami Beach Reviews from The Last Year
Lives up to the hype.
Gorgeous setting for lunch, food was excellent, great people watching. Had a great time snapping photos and watching everyone else pose for their perfect picture.
Wish I had gone sooner
All around impressive. Too many positives to list. I recommend you reserve a table next to the pool. Wow is the best description of this restaurant
Jon morcillon
Jon morcillon our server was absolutely amazing thank you for the great experience, he recommended us the special pasta of the day which we loved
ITALY in Miami
All really delicious we ate as an appetizer a fried calamari, prawns and courgettes and a really good cold cuts platter we continued with fantastic ravioli with ricotta and spinach it really doesn't seem like being in Miami considering what is around Attentive and helpful waiters, especially PEDRO, a truly kind person I really recommend it to everyone!!! Thank you for a wonderful evening!!
Highy recommended!!
After many times visiting Miami we decided to go Gianni’s and after that I can say: why we did not go before? A visit to this place is a complete experience, highly recomended!
Threatened with a side of police.
Do not recommend. Absolutely gorgeous location. Fans of Gianni Versace will not be disappointed. However. This is our third visit 2019, 2022 and 2024, and the experience has deteriorated significantly. This evening we waited 40 mins for our 8pm reservation. We were seated and waited a while to be asked if we’d like a drink. We were then served each other’s drinks, incorrectly. We asked for butter for the bread. No butter ever arrived. Our starters were not taken away before we were served our mains, which resulted in an awkward fuss of having to clear our starters while our “table side” cacio e pepe was prepared. There was very little theatre and the pasta was plonked on a plate. We ordered a side of green beans. Instead we were served raw carrots and about 8 green beans. We had fillet mignon, and it was overcooked. We were not offered anymore drinks and sat with empty wine glasses eating our meal, not seeing a server. When we asked for the check they seemed surprised we didn’t want dessert. I refused to pay the service charge of 20%. The waiter said he couldn’t approve that and would need to get a manager. The manager came and said he could not remove the charge and I said well I’m not paying it, we’ve had terrible service and a poor experience. He said ok well I’ll call the police! So I said ok. He then quickly said he could take off our two drinks as a gesture of good will. He said I hadn’t listened to him and seemed intent on causing a scene. I agreed to the drinks being removed, and paid and left. Despite being a huge fan from the prior two visits, I will never, ever spend my money here again for poor service and mediocre food.
Great experience
My family and I went to Gianni’s for a nice dinner out while on vacation. The building is breathtaking and the setting is very nice. We had a table off to the side with views of the pool. Our kids (17, 13, & 10) loved the experience as well. We shared the oysters, calamari, and burrata - all were delicious. We all ordered something different for dinner and everyone loved their entrees. For dessert we ordered three different items and this was a favorite. Each dessert had some sort of presentation to it which was super fun for the kids. Would definitely recommend and would return if in Miami.
Miami vacation
Scott our server gave us exceptional service.. ambiance was nice beautiful restaurant food was ok put on you to go list when visiting south beach
Disappointing:(
Late lunch seating 3pm, front of the house/hostess just pointed the restaurant with her finger and went back to conversation with other hostesses. In the restaurant, not much better. I wouldn’t say waiting staff was rude but disinterested and wanted you out as quickly as possible. Mechanical services reflecting pre prepared lass then average food. As soon as plates after main meal were cleaned checked was put on the table. I’m surprised no one pushed us out but wasn’t far of it. 2 marks are for the history of Casa Casuarina. Unfortunately it’s splendour and opulence is gone, fractions of it showing here and there. In need of restoration and a good clean. Very sad experience.
Really good food and amazing place
Well first the restaurante is at the legendary Versace Mansion, this place is beautiful in the heart of South Beach! The restaurant is elegant but a little overloaded with tables. The food is sooo delicious! They have an menu for $38 plus service, tips and one drink can be $80, but is worth it! The service is just amazing!! You need to have a reservation this place is really busy and the valet is $45.
Crappy food in stunning location
The two stars are for atmosphere and service. The food drags the rest of the review down—wayyyyyyy down. Atmosphere: 5 stars. This is like eating inside a museum. The space is stunning. On top of being eye-candy for the architecture and art, the tables set ups and staff uniforms of the restaurant are set for fine dining. Service: 5 stars. We were concerned about service based on other reviews we read, but we truly had exceptional service from the staff. Food: 1 star—it exists. The food is not good, AND super expensive. Or tempura app lacked flavor and the tempura veggies were soggy. We ate only half, and the app was $28. The rest of our dinner followed suit by being mediocre at its best. Makes Olive Garden look Michelin star. The couple at the table next to us had similar issues with all of their plates—I don’t think anyone ate more than a quarter of their dish without giving up. The apps all run mid-high $20 range, a pasta dish close to or over $40. At this price point I don’t expect to want to send every dish back to the kitchen. EXCEPTION: key line dessert was both beautiful and delicious. Other notes: they are clearly cutting corners. Menus are tired and falling apart. Olive oil bottle so dirty and tired I didn’t want to touch it. DRESS CODE: don’t worry, they let pretty much everyone in. All in all we dropped over $300 for two of us, then went out to eat because we barely touched our food here. This is a definite one and done for us. My advice: get a salad and a dessert to see the restaurant, but save your money to eat dinner elsewhere.
Entry not permitted
I did a reservation, for a dinner to 3 people, but i was stopped at the door because i were of flip-flop. at your website dont have mention about dress code, when i did a reservation i received an email of confirmation and in this email dont have mention about dress code too! Your restaurante stay at the beach, flip-flop is a dress code of beach! Im brazilian, most of part of my trip was planed to go at your restaurant, but just disapointment, frustread dream! Highlighting that we were 3 people, two men and a woman, all wearing flip-flops, but women can enter!
Great atmosphere and food
What a breathtaking place to have dinner! Our server Anthony was just lovely and made us feel very welcome. Lovely food I had the lobster spaghetti and my friend steak and both amazing. Considering I thought Miami was expensive to eat out this was so reasonable for the atmosphere and surroundings and food!
We recommend
Excellent service from all the waiters, we loved all the food and were very satisfied. We recommend the pizza and the croissant

The restaurant is beautiful and has a nice ambiance and music. The drinks were good and we had the octopus carpaccio and Chilean sea bass for dinner and both were very delicious. The chocolate dessert was sweet and impressive. The service from the manager Carlos and our server Fernando were top notch. We will be back to try out the lunch soon! We
This was such a pleasant dinning experience.
We made reservations ahead of time around 5:30pm and it was great! We got there before it got full and were able to take pictures by the fountain and experience the mansion fountain during daylight and nighttime. So beautiful! Our server was attentive without making us feel rushed. Since we made reservations we were promptly seated upon arrival. We started with the calamari and it was good. We shared the Cacio de Pepe pasta and the presentation in the cheese wheel was so neat. The pasta had a rich flavor to it and was some of the best pasta I've had. The NY strip steak was also very good and a good portion. The desert was a chocolate globe and it was good. The blooming flower presentation of it was neat. Worth the experience and price point wasn't bad considering the location.

Visited this spot for lunch for my mom's birthday and when I say the ambiance of this place is worth capturing so many cute great photos! Honestly the price that we paid for lunch was pretty good considering all of the food that is included. I am sure they offer valet parking but gratefully our hotel was super close within walking distance. You get an appetizer, entree, and dessert all for $38!!! I ended up getting the fried shrimp, salmon with veggies, and the brownie for my meal and everything was pretty good. I can say the salmon was pretty basic, there wasn't anything too exciting about it and it seemed as something I could have made at home but the veggies were bomb!!!! I would visit this spot again but next time for dinner to try out the dinner menu.
Make a reservation and go for the ambiance but don't go for
Make a reservation and go for the ambiance but don't go for the food! The scenery is beautiful and very picturesque and you want to love the dishes because you want to be fond of the entire experience so that you want to come back or brag about being in such a one of a kind type of restaurant. Our waiter kept rushing us to order not in a rude manner but can you give us a moment please and 2 mins later he's back lol. After we did receive our dishes we didn't see him again until we needed the check and I had to wave across the room to get his attention. I ordered the spinach & ricotta ravioli which was mediocre and I think had mint leaves, my best friend ordered oysters and they had shells, and my other friend ordered pasta and it was bland.

Exceptional experience From entering the beautiful estate, we were warmly greeted and sat immediately (with reservations of course) We were seated on the lanai, so much to take in...the beauty, history and elegance was breathtaking Our server Hector was personable, knowledgeable and helpful The food was superb But dessert was over the top This is a must when in south beach!

The whole place is really cool really like the structure of the restaurant and the decoration give it a nice vibe, the food could be better I feel like since they know is a place everyone wants to go the food is just ok I guess I was expecting more. the service was great, for me this is a one time experience though I wouldn't go back.

Amazing would definitely go back! The food was fresh and delicious we did the lunch and did some upgrades but after I was thinking we wouldn't be full. No way it's more than enough! So good must try! Service was on point! The ambiance and atmosphere was amazing!
Good food, great service, went mostly for the decor
Good food, great service, went mostly for the decor & ambience. If you in south beach you gotta. One of the famous landmarks here in Miami.
What a unique and beautiful experience! My daughter in law
What a unique and beautiful experience! My daughter in law booked it a long time before our trip to Miami, and we were so happy with the experience! The place is gorgeous! The food was delicious! And our server - Romeo, was one of the BEST (!) servers we have ever had, in any restaurant, EVER! I really recommend visiting this restaurant, for anyone who are visiting Miami for the first time.
Beautiful venue, filled with tourists.
I arrived for dinner and the hostess seated me at the worst table in the entire restaurant, a table in the corner in a little cave, she refused to move me to another table. Her attitude set the tone for this venue, so I was hoping the rest of the dining experience was going to get better, but I was sadly disappointed. Food was so unbelievably mediocre. Gianni's salad and the salmon were nothing memorable or tasty and the Cacio de Pepe was so over salted and overcooked into one pile of mush and inedible. Service was so slow- this dinner took over 2-1/2 hours. Never again

Best hack (and food, ambiance) ever
There is a fixe prix lunch with appetizer, main and dessert that is a bargain. The food is consistently great and the restaurant, next to the most incredible pool, is an experience.
Expensive but good.
This place is expensive and the menu is not extensive. The selection is adequate. The food was very good and the service was excellent. The atmosphere is amazing but there are a lot of people doing Instagram pictures. Be sure to ask for a table that is NOT close to the pool. That is where everyone is constantly taking pictures and if you have a table that is close you will be in the middle of the traffic.
Terrible service and food!!!
Beautiful location, but terrible food and service!!! Exaggerated costs for what you eat with even old bread brought from one table to another. Incompetent waiters. I got a $28 glass of wine brought in a quart measuring cup and poured into the glass without showing the bottle or tasting it. The meat was terrible. Apart from the location it is not worth going to eat in this place. A McDonald's has better food and service.
Gianni's Ocean Drive
Very busy atmosphere. Lots to see - not to be missed. Service was excellent - Juan - thank you - two nights in a row! Sea bass was delicious.

The service sucked! We waited more than an hour to have our ordered taken. We had to remind our server multiple times about it. The food came out cold and undercooked. Not a great experience
SAVOR EVERY BITE.
towards the end up my meal i ate it much more slowly and i realized everything is so full of flavor and delicious. chilean seabass and truffle mash were so delicious. i made a reservation on opentable we were seated right away during busy spring break. pricey but worth it.

I have come to the mansion a few times for guests that are visiting out of town. Reservations are strongly urged which I appreciate and the wait times are generally very low when you have one. The food and drink menu has a very good selection of different items to choose from such as Fish, Meat, and Vegetarian options. The Burrata is my favorite along with the Grilled Branzino. I found the Margarita pizza (not shown) was surprisingly delicious despite it not having any basil on top. The cocktail was yummy and of a typical Miami price. The service composed of a waiter to take out menu and sous waiter for the delivery of water and utensils. I found the service to be typical and nothing to rave about. I found that the general idea of this restaurant is mostly for photos and visiting just to say you have visited. I can't say I was blown away by anything and the prices are somewhat elevated yet cannot argue too much as this is located on South Beach & a well-known spot. Luckily, architecture and ambiance is very pleasing to the eye and makes one feel content and appreciative of seeing this staple in person.
Overall an amazing experience.
The atmosphere is UNBEATABLE. Beautiful space and very vibey. The service was decent, and the food came out very fast. Every dish we got was absolutely amazing. Could not recommend this place enough. If you're in the area, you must come here!!

Celebrated my birthday with a visit from Philadelphia my two childhood best friends. From the salad to the soup and the main entrée, everything was perfect, even their specialty drinks was amazing !! The service was impeccable. An amazing place for pictures. Everything was perfect. I would definitely do it again, but I will try dinner next time. I was even impressed with the bathrooms, would've been nice to be able to see the rooms in the mansion.

TOURIST TRAP, super rude staff, cattle call, mass produced cafeteria food. don't waste your time, we made a reservation also, waited for 45 minutes past it, and when you ask about it they treat you like you're inconveniencing them by inquiring
Great place
Went for lunch was not disappointed service was excellent and the food delicious, sat by the pool which was great apart from so many people queuing for photos, maybe someone should be there to make sure they move along. But definitely worth a visit.

My family of 4 enjoyed our lunch and the experience was very good, my daughters loved the place too. Since it was brunch for us, I would've liked to see brunch options and more variety in the menu. Food was very good.
The food was great.
The brunch deal was great. The service is alright, it's pretty business so servers were all over the place. The ambiance is clean and kept up with the design of the architecture. Wish there was a drink special. Drinks were good tho

The highlight of my visit, however, was undoubtedly the food. Each dish was a culinary masterpiece, bursting with flavor and expertly prepared. From the first bite to the last, I was thoroughly impressed by the quality and creativity of the menu. The ambiance is great and beachfront and the staff is friendly and attentive.
Food was good along with drinks.
But host staff discriminates based on their mood. They put us in a back room with 4 other tables instead of main outdoor are. When we asked to move she told us there is no available table there for that time. After asking for manager who was never informed about us she came back and told us we need to wait longer to be moved. We agreed and it only took less than 2 min for a new text to arrive that our table is ready. And let me tell you. There was plants of available tables and some were never seated even we got done with our dinner. The waitress was amazing so as the food and drinks.
I had made reservations before we went to the Versace
I had made reservations before we went to the Versace mansion. My friend had recommended to make reservations and have dessert there because she did just that with her girlfriends about a few weeks ago. So that's what I had planned to do. We were a party of 6, 4 adults and 2 kids. As we walk in, we can already feel the attitude. Nobody greets us nicely and gave us any attention. As we walked inside, I told the front desk that we had reservations and the lady just goes ok while looking at her tablet. Doesn't ask for my name or anything. I thought I might have to wait like some others over there. So we sit down and wait. But about 15 minutes go by after our reservation time and I walk up to her again asking how long the wait would be as we had reservations. Then finally she asks me for my name and looks me up on her tablet. And tells me to wait and they will have a table for us soon. So, within a few minutes, I get a text message that our table is ready. We finally get seated and again it's a waiting game on our waiter to come, and to get menus, then our waiter to come back. Even the waiter had an attitude, especially after we told him that we are here for dessert. He told us we have to spend at least $38 dollars per person. I did not see that requirement posted anywhere when I made reservations. I feel like they might have been even a bit racist after seeing we are brown as one of our party was wearing a turban. Then we were deciding what we should do. We were told if we wanted to have dessert, we would have to go "upstairw." So we go upstairs and we were then told we could sit at the bar and get our dessert. But no waiter comes to us to place an order. So one of us goes to the bartender and he was just confused about ordering dessert there. So he went to ask someone else and then we just decided to walk out. I don't think they cared to take care of us and give us good service. The place looked great, just like in the pictures but I would never go back there again as some of the other reviews also suggested.
The service and the food was great, there was a delay with
The service and the food was great, there was a delay with the main entrées. We went during lunch on a Saturday. Nevertheless, I would go again.
The worst customer experience ever
The worst customer experience ever. There were supposed to be two of us. As my parter was late and possibly not coming, I was not allowed to get a table. I spoke to the manager who could not care less. He said that is their policy, they could not “grant me” a table if not all parties were there at the same tine. He probably meant that by policy they are unfit to welcome .
So disorganised
Fantastic setting and food above average but service is so slow. There are lots of servers doing nothing and a few rushed off their feet. Drinks come slowly from an overwhelmed bar. Only certain servers can take orders so you have to wait and wait. We gave up on dessert as we had to wait to get menu and then no one came to take the order. One server just could not cope with five tables. She broke a glass all over one customer in her rush. They still expect 20 % service charge. It just needs someone to manage the dining room better. So disappointing to have such poor service in an amazing setting. It could easily be sorted .
Excellent lunch
Had a really enjoyable lunch hete. We booked ahead and requested a table beside the pool. We were given a table in a private corner beside the pool which was the perfect location. If you get a table in middle of restaurant beside the pool you will have people constantly coming up for photos. Service and food was both very good. It was also good value for money (for Miami Beach prices). Only small thing was that there is very little gap between the courses.
Do not go to this place
Do not go to this restaurant unless you stay there because if not they will push you at a table in a corner behind a wall all “the tables are reserved for the guest” not a place to spend your money. The manager was unkind and unapologetic
Gianni would faint
Absolutely horrendous. Gianni would be disgusted had he known his home would reek like fish. Drinks were just ok and food certainly not special. Nice to visit the home of the great Gianni Versace- but the cheap renos are a slap in the face to the Versace name.

Prepaid Reservation Fee

When you sell a reservation that has a prepaid fee AT takes a commission on that fee. This doesn’t really make sense because it’s an expense the seller incurs not part of the profit that is shared.
For example:
Carbone NYC fee to book table for 2 is $108.88
If you sell it for $200 on AT you get $140 from them.
Your net profit is $31 and AT collects $60 in fees.
It would make more sense not to charge commission on the upfront fee as this creates a disincentive and results in higher costs for buyers.

Agreed. Ultimately not addressing this month after month is clearly resulting in a drop in certain venue’s rankings & sales.
