Friday Saturday Sunday Philadelphia Reviews from The Last Year
Absolutely a Must when in Philadelphia.
Arrived and was lucky to get seating at the bar. I usually don't like sitting at a bar, but am glad I did. The barkeep was entertaining, friendly, and knowledgeable of the menu as well as the ingredients. We did the tasting menu plus extras from the menu. Every dish was as beautiful as it was delicious. Absolutely will dine with them again when in town.

I actually started this review in July 2019 and never finished it. I had read about the restaurant and was able to snag a reservation. The photos popped up in a memory and reminded me just how good the food was and how we must return! We tried a few different options from the menu. Everything was amazing- presentation was everything!
absolutely stunning restaurant with beautiful decor and
absolutely stunning restaurant with beautiful decor and immaculate vibes! i ordered a mocktail which was very refreshing on a hot summer day. my mom ordered a cocktail (i believe the orange catholic) which was sweet and light. we enjoyed everything on the tasting menu -- everything was served promptly and our servers made sure to explain each dish thoroughly. the food was fun, many of the dishes had a fusion-esque twist which i loved! some standouts for me were the crudo, the quail, and the steak. the pate-stuffed bread served with the quail was absolutely delicious as well. it was the perfect balance of sweet and savory, i could have eaten the whole basket. the unique dishes kept us on our toes and tasted delicious! the servers were all phenomenal, very attentive, and the service was fast. i was celebrating my birthday, and they even brought out a slice of cake for me at the end which was such a sweet touch!
Each course was unique and told a story.
The food hits so many different notes and levels. The setting of the restaurant is perfect. You can have a conversation and truly enjoy the experience. The staff is spot on and very attentive without being overbearing. My most favorite part of the meal was an unexpected squash soup and the fish was amazing (cooked to perfection... I wanted more!) my least favorite was the sweetbreads and for full transparency I never liked the earthiness of sweetbreads and these were the best sweetbreads I've ever had.
This place was so cool.
I did the tasting menu and got to try some really unique foods that were expertly prepared. This place was the 2023 James Beard winner for Outstanding Restaurant and I can see why. It was amazing! The bartender was pretty awesome too. The place had a fun vibe. Reservations are required. It was not a huge amount of food for the price tag. Still worth it for the quality and taste of the food, and the unique culinary experience.
maybe a 3-4 star food, 5/5 service and vibes for sure tho.
i think i had such a good time in the downstairs bar going a la carte that the upstairs experience just didn't hit as hard. things were texturally quite nice (caviar quiche? the chewy ravioli in broth? the bread??) but the flavors were quite conventional and imo lacking acid (too rich? too thick?? not enough herbs? idk imagine a fragrance but the top note is missing). bright rhubarb and green strawberries but a bit too much cream so their freshness/tartness isn't as front. it's also $235 after tax and tip per person for the prix fix menu + 1 cocktail which is wild. in the future would def recommend sticking to the downstairs bar, ordering a couple things a la carte and getting their delicious drinks which I think are the stars.
I genuinely feel sad leaving such a poor review- the last
I genuinely feel sad leaving such a poor review- the last time we were at FSS was also for our anniversary, a year ago, and we had such a magical experience that we saved up for our anniversary again this year ! In fact we talked so much about it out family gave us a gift card to cover some of our dinner this year. Sadly, it was a huge disappointment and our anniversary night would basically have been ruined if it weren't for the humor we found in the situation. Given we had a gift card, we could not book through the usual Resy system so we sent an email and in the email, I explained it was our anniversary and then also very explicitly laid out my dietary restrictions of no red meat (and even listed which meats this included vs excluded !!!). When we arrived we were seated on time and assigned our waiter and basically at this point everything went downhill. We attempted to confirm with our waiter the dietary restrictions and to once again explain them but he brushed us off very brusquely and said "yeah yeah we know about that, which one of you is it?" we were rather thrown off at this point because last time our server went through the menu with us in a detailed manner. Our same server seemed to be fine with doing a detailed menu breakdown with the table near us who were making substitution on the fly. This time we didn't even have a chance to do so because he was not interested in listening. We ordered our beverages and things went fine for the first 2 courses The first course had steak tartare on it for my husband and I received a veggie substitute. At course 3, I was given a pasta with pork and was surprised, I let the runner know I couldn't eat this and she was the only one who seemed appropriately apologetic through this whole experience. Our waiter later came over and went 'oh are you vegetarian ? I clarified and again explained I don't eat mammals/red meat but once again he did not seem interested and interjected stating 'okay but you just ate steak, so steak isn't red meat?". I was shocked in what world is steak not red meat ? I replied that I absolutely did not eat steak and our server notes "well you definitely ate steak in that first course" and again did not seem concerned at all that the restaurant may have just completely disregarded all my dietary restrictions !!! I then stated...no I listen very carefully when the food is described and I received the vegetarian substitution on the first course. At this point my husband and I were both furious. If it weren't for the fish course being utterly delicious we were frankly planning to leave. No one wished us a happy anniversary. No one apologized other than the runner. No one made our night special in any way ( meanwhile the table next to us received gushing happy anniversary wishes from the manager and server). Utterly disappointed and I'm still not sure why we didn't just walk out -maybe hope that things would get better ? I wish I spent the 275+ dollars on something else and regret this visit to FSS deeply. This review would be 1 start if it weren't for the delicious fish, quail and scallops (last 3 courses). I guess if you're younger, have a gift card, and dietary restrictions don't come here.
Fabulous Super Stupendous
This restaurant is nothing but amazing. There are no other words. The tasting menu was full of foods that I would not typically eat yet I ate everything, In fact I relished everything. The subtle lasting taste of each course was memorable, and the transition to dessert was also quite impressive. The food was absolutely sumptuous. We were fortunate enough to have a very experienced server and he was also terrific. At one point my wife and I were not quite sure about one of the courses and the waiter very clearly said, try it, and if you still don’t like it, we will find something else. We tried it and we loved it. Every course was better than the next. Bravo!
The best restaurant in Philadelphia!
This restaurant is the best in Philadelphia! The menu is well made with incredible flavors and tastes, the chef really goes out of his to make it special! This restaurant is truly deserving to be a Michelin star rated!
Came here for a business dinner.
It was really an amazing experience. This place is a bit pricey but you get what you pay for. It's a tapas style tasting menu so they just bring you out like a dozen different dishes. The portions were perfect and everything was cooked to perfection. The ambiance is really nice and although the space is small it's not loud at all. I thought the waiter was also very nice professional and knowledgeable. This is definitely a high end place that is worth a visit. This may be one of the best restaurants in Philly.
Ahhh can I go here everyday?! What an absolute treat to
Ahhh can I go here everyday?! What an absolute treat to dine here! It's a tasting menu so the experience delivers on that fancy mystique and coupled it with a homey, comfortable ambiance. We had made reservations a while ago and had heard great things about this place! After being seated, we were introduced to how things would work. We were provided the menu for our viewing pleasure but since some items were not vegetarian, the chef had other options that would come out in place of the ones with animal products. Every bite was just amazing. Lots of great use of ingredients and flavor profiles. I really appreciated the portions as it was enough for you to savor but not overfilling from plate to plate that you couldn't complete your full meal. The service was excellent and our waitress was so great with explaining everything on the plates as well as what drinks would pair well. Side note: there is a wine pairing option with the meal but we ended up doing cocktails - but definitely something to explore! Such a great meal, service, ambiance! Looking forward to another reason already to go back!
It is worth the price and an excellent dining experience.
The only minor issue our party had was with accommodating dietary restrictions. We called ahead and had a fairly rude interaction with the person on the other end.
We had to wait for an hour and a half for a seat at the bar.
The wait was well worth it. I'd never say that because waiting sucks. The staff is delightful and Chef Chad creates sublime dishes. We enjoyed marinated olives and an amazing pasta dish (perfectly balanced with salt, spice, and crunch).
So amazing.
Service was impeccable! Came here last minute and we were blown away Highly recommend.

Had to give it a try when this restaurant came up on every google search revolving around 'best restaurant philly'. Luckily got a reservation during our short trip and had a chance to experience the restaurant. We got a late timeslot so the dining room was quite hectic when we got up. The dining room was compact, dimly lit but very well decorated. Loved the low key, but chic feel to the restaurant. I was a little disappointed that there are no bar seats to watch the kitchen at work, but that just meant more focus on the food. The service was fast, attentive and friendly. The food was creative and definitely led me through a culinary adventure. There was an underlying island influence to the food which gave the dishes a unique flair in the realm of fine dining. Had a blast trying little bites and was happy trying all the things. My fave was the quail with the coco bread. Fun experience, if the menu rotates I would consider returning.
I was in Philly for a convention and went to eat at Friday
I was in Philly for a convention and went to eat at Friday Saturday Sunday. I have never had some of the dishes on the menu (chicken liver pate, caviar tuna tartar, smoked herring with crab pasta), to name a few. Everything was absolutely delicious! Weeks later, I am still thinking about the food; it was a beautiful experience. A couple next to me said they lived in the Philly suburbs and told me they come into town every chance they get to eat at this restaurant. She explained every dish that came out to me...LOL! The atmosphere was warm and inviting, and the drinks were delicious! The couple next to me were eating the tasting menu, as well. I felt very special that Chef Chad Williams personally brought our selections out. If you are in Philly, I encourage you to check this gem out! You will not be disappointed.
Hands down the BEST (yes BEST) restaurant I've tried in
Hands down the BEST (yes BEST) restaurant I've tried in Philly! Wow! My mind was blown with every dish! I did not try the tasting menu (couldn't get a resy) but got a chance to sit at the bar and enjoy these dishes and some drinks! First, this place is pricey but i also think it's worth it as the portion sizes are large and the food taste and quality is out of this world! The beef tartare is the best dish here! I usually wouldn't pick this dish but I'm so glad my cousin and I did because it was amazing! The flavors were incredible and paired perfectly with the sourdough slices they provided (you can also ask for more sourdough if needed). The gnocchi was the best gnocchi I've ever had! So buttery and savory! The octopus was very interesting and tasted like an Indian dal but still very good and flavorful. The crab spaghetti was also very tasty and the pasta was cooked to perfection. We enjoyed multiple drinks and the bartenders were very engaging. The restaurant is intimate and beautifully decorated with the upstairs being reservations only. Super glad we got a chance to try this place out! Wish we had one in DC as i will need to make frequent trips to Philly just to eat here! Can't wait to be back!
PERFECTION!
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️Friday Saturday Sunday is all about the Beginning Middle End, the totality of the experience from start to finish. Chef Chad Williams is a culinary maestro who created for us a beautiful composition starting with a delicious sonata allegro in the form of wonderful, lively starters and ending with a sonata rondo with sublime sweets that were the perfect ending notes to a perfect night. We were seated promptly at a wonderful table and Tracy our server was stellar from beginning to end. We started with some signature cocktails, for my spouse, the Assassin’s Handbook (cognac, Jamaican rum, Averna, mulled wine shrub and a hit of habanero) and for me, The Queen of Two Worlds (Guyanese rum, coffee liqueur, passionfruit). We loved them – I never would never have paired coffee liqueur and passionfruit but it worked beautifully in this cocktail and they were the perfect opening act. The real performance began with the first dish CRUDO – a duo of wonderful bites, one was a bite of tartare on brioche, and the other was a small tartlet with ossetra caviar, tuna crudo, manzano pepper and a silky sabayon. Two to three bites of pure Heaven. The tartlet shell was shatteringly crisp and yet it melted in the mouth with the creamy sabayon, ossetra caviar and tuna crudo. Next up was SQUASH – a bowl layered with foie gras, chestnut-squash custard with some crunchy bits and truffle. This was superb – words cannot express how good, but our bowls were spotless (and we aren’t squash fans!) BEET was an interesting dish of grilled blackberry, agnoletti, buttermilk and again – bowls scraped spotless. SWEETBREADS were crispy on the outside, creamy on the inside, the mushroom and plantain delightful under a beautiful vin blanc sauce. We made the dishwasher happy, yet again. FISH was a beautiful halibut in a pool of a coconut milk-based sauce that was flecked with flavor and it was exquisite – we both loved this dish and if we had to rank the dishes – this likely would hold the top spot in a menu filled with number ones. GRILLED QUAIL was just that, perfectly executed and intriguingly paired with a pâté smear and a basket of mini coco bread filled with pâté. I will be making Chef’s version of coco bread for my next apéro! NEW YORK STRIP was perfectly cooked and the cabbage and root veg were fantastic. The purée of sweet potato was great and the addition of the Columbian pandebono and the broth at the end of this course was perfection. BAY LEAF SEMIFREDDO was SO brilliant and a wonderful end note to a sumptuous meal. The flavor of the bay leaf was just right, the caramelized milk was a delightful surprise the pear and red verjus added a nice tart note. This was truly one of the best meals we have had across Asia, Europe, Canada and the USA – just wonderful from start to finish. BUT THERE’S MORE: - we had coffee with dessert and were then treated to a slice of classic and perfectly executed Marjolaine with nutty meringue, rich chocolate ganache, vanilla and hazelnut on a plate wishing me “Happy Birthday” in chocolate and two perfectly cooked cannelés (à l'orange) de Bordeaux! A memorable meal. A meal that embodied the taste and the experience of fine dining at its best. Bravo and thanks to Chef Williams and the crew at Friday Saturday Sunday. We already have our next visit on our calendar!

Walked into a dark and cozy setting.
Was led to the second floor by an attendant. Server was promptly assigned to me and received my water order. The crudo was savory with its sashimi style tart and tuna tartar. The squash consisted of a chestnut custard and covered with a thin slice of black truffle. The truffle went exquisitely with the custard but once it was gone, the custard's flavor dropped. Guess the truffle needs to be split evenly among the custard to enjoy the dish consistently. The beet plate came with pasta mixed with beet sauce, olive oil, and a hint of what I believe is goat cheese. The sweetbreads weren't as sweet as expected due to the vin blanc sauce. Personally, thought it reduced this dish's flavor but I usually prefer sweet over savory. Ate the fish plate by combining a leek leaf with fish and the sauce and it produced an heavy unami flavor. The grilled quail was my favorite dish. Combining the quail with the pate, lemon and wrapping with coco bread was savory and slightly spicy. Cleaned my palate with inhouse made broth. Ate new york strip by mixing it with the orange goo and cabbage. It was good but not melt in your mouth good. Bay leaf semifreddo was soo delicious that I forgot to take a pic of it till i already finished it.

Friday Saturday and Sunday offers a tasting menu, and our group wanted to try this restaurant out while we were in town. The menu included: Crudo (ossetra, manzano pepper, sabayon), Sweet Corn (chawanmushi, pickled tomatillo, red chili), Beet (buttermilk, grilled blackberry), Sweetbreads (mushroom, plantain, vin blanc), Fish (pea greens, grilled leek, coconut), Grilled Quail (pate, coco bread; had a crisp exterior but wasn't a fan), New York Strip (oxtail, cabbage), and Bay Leaf Semifreddo (pear, red verjus, caramelized milk; was slightly tart). Unfortunately, I wasn't really a fan of the meal, and I ended up stopping by at another place for a redo. Service was friendly and attentive. Street parking is a bit difficult, but can be found around the area. +friendly service +limited street parking available
Seemed at first like a solid, if very overpriced meal.
Highlights included the quail, New York strip, and the first dessert option. Ended up getting food poisoning very soon afterwards though, and felt very sick for the next two days. Think it was either from the foie gras or the egg yolk jam. Good and friendly service from the staff. Overall ambiance upstairs is cozy and intimate in a positive way.
Friday Saturday Sunday is a showcase of culinary
Friday Saturday Sunday is a showcase of culinary excellence, marked by extraordinary service. When an accidental cancellation threatened to mar our evening, the staff handled the situation with utmost grace and professionalism, ensuring we were comfortably seated without any fuss. The restaurant presented a simple yet beautiful environment, inviting guests into a space of casual elegance. The floors, adorned with black and white tiles, offered a cool, classic touch that grounded the room in a timeless aesthetic. The presence of a banana plant, or perhaps a variety of palm, introduced a refreshing element of greenery, injecting life and vibrancy into the space. This touch of nature balanced the urban chic of the restaurant, creating a harmonious blend of the organic and the designed. The lighting in the restaurant was thoughtfully arranged, providing a low, warm glow that enhanced the overall experience. It was bright enough to appreciate the visual artistry of the dishes served, yet dim enough to maintain an intimate, cozy atmosphere. This careful balancing act of illumination added to the overall allure of the space, making the dining experience both comfortable and engaging. While the design of the restaurant could have embraced a more exquisite approach, its current styling did not detract from the delightful experience. The ambiance resonated with a sense of laid-back sophistication, a perfect backdrop for the culinary delights. The atmosphere buzzed with the contentment of patrons, further affirming that the charm of Friday Saturday Sunday lies in its ability to create a welcoming and enjoyable space for all who enter. The culinary expedition commenced with the Tuna Crudo, a dish that defied the ordinary. It was akin to a jalapeño queso sauce over tuna tartare but elevated to a higher level of complexity. The texture was light and airy, and the flavor profile was enhanced by the subtle hints of jalapeño and the smoothness of the Sabayon. While the caviar's presence was understated, its contribution to the dish's layered taste was undeniable. Moving on, the Sweet Corn Chawanmushi didn't quite reach the heights of its menu companions. The custard layer under the corn seemed to miss an opportunity in enhancing the dish's texture. Nonetheless, it was still a pleasant experience, albeit a bit overshadowed by the other offerings. The Beet Pasta, adorned with grilled blackberries, stood out for its innovation. The rarity of grilling fruit was a welcome addition to the meal. The beet filling inside the pasta was impressively smooth, yet I found myself wishing for a larger portion to fully appreciate its delicate flavors. The sweetbreads were a delightful surprise. This ingenious combination of fried sweetbreads with mushrooms, plantains, and a white wine cream sauce was a testament to culinary creativity. The blend of sweet, savory, creamy, and fried elements was both balanced and light, adding a distinct character to the meal. The Halibut was a testament to perfect cooking, delivering a delightful taste experience. The Grilled Quail was equally impressive, tender and flavorful, accompanied by Coco bread that offered a comforting taste akin to buttery biscuits. The New York Strip, a well-executed classic, was complemented by perfectly cooked oxtail. Although I usually prefer a fattier cut, this dish left no room for dissatisfaction. The meal culminated with the Bay Leaf Semifreddo, a dessert that was both innovative and delicious. Its unique texture, similar to ice cream but warmer, combined with fruit and red verjus, made for a perfect ending to the meal. Friday Saturday Sunday offered a remarkable dining experience. The menu was thoughtfully curated, presenting a wide array of flavors and textures. Each dish was skillfully prepared, with the only minor suggestion being a revision of the Sweet Corn Chawanmushi to elevate it further. This restaurant is highly recommended for its exceptional culinary offerings and attentive service.

Great Service - amazing dinner!!
Read about the site in NYT and bought a reservation at Mother Wolf in LA 2 days later. Worked great and the food was amazing!!!
Worked perfectly!
Got the reservation (that I couldn't get anywhere else) and was able to entertain a group of friends at the infamous Bern's Steakhouse.
Got into Nobu Malibu
Wonderful! My parents are visiting and we have wanted to go to Nobu Malibu for years. I tried getting a reservation myself but it was next to impossible. So glad I was able to buy a reservation on appointment trader for a decent price!
Very easy
Was very hesitant going into this experience but am glad to say that it worked out very well ! will definitely use appointment trader in the future
Fabulous Lunch
I was veeeeeerry skeptical that this would work, particularly at a restaurant as hard to get into as Nobu Malibu, and it was perfect! We had lunch outside on the patio and it was fabulous!
Great reviewer team
Just wanted to take a second to shout out the reviewer team. Even though they probably review hundreds of listings and bids a day, they still take the time to leave great comments and respond relatively quickly. Thanks!
Incredible
I got a reservation to Don Angie, which I've been trying to book for weeks! I am very happy with this service.
Best platform out there!
Super simple, easy, and fast to secure reservations for hard-to-get restaurants and locations!
This app is life changing
This app has opened my world up to so many wonderful new experiences I would never have the chance to have without access to this awesome app! 10/10!
Worked perfectly
Was a little nervous at first but was pleased to see that the booking went through flawlessly.
Highly recommended.
Success on Short Notice
Was able to snag an indoor table at Don Angie through an absolutely seamless worry-free process.

Quick table in Miami
I didn’t have my hopes high as it was a party of 4. In 24 hours I had a carbone reservation available! I was very happy as my family really wanted to come here
Prime time, great meal
So easy and had a prime time which I can never seem to get on normal res apps. So worth it
Got impossible NYC res
instead of waiting weeks I got my 4 charles reservation instantly
Worked perfectly to get into Carbone. So delighted
perfect
Worked well, got me into a restaurant with no availability
I was skeptical, and I still don't really know how they managed to find this hard-to-find reservation, but it was a win-win from my point of view, and I'll use this service again.
Last minute reservation for Delilah Las Vegas
Got a last minute reservation, dinner for 2 at Delilah Las Vegas: super impressed! The process was simple, transaction seamless. We had an amazing time! Couldn’t be happier! 😍
It works!
Ok at this point I've attended a reservation purchased on AT by a friend and sold a reservation personally. Both worked pretty smoothly, nothing sketchy about it. A few areas for improvement including a way to more directly communicate between buyers and sellers, but the app always seems to be in development. AT customer support is really(!) responsive and helpful too if you have questions!
Money transfer
As a seller, I like the fact i have the ability now to transfer money out of my AT account and into a bank account. Makes getting the money much easier then the process before.
Love this app
Got to go to places otherwise unreachable
Easy Access
Very easy to get into one of the hardest restaurants to reserve in New York.
Whose name will my reservation be under when I arrive at the venue?
It can be under your name or a name you choose! Some reservation offers already include the AppointmentTrader Transfer Service which will transfer the reservation in to your name. If its not included you can add it on after buying the reservation for a small fee. One thing on that though: As many reservations become available at last minute, taking a reservation in someone else name is quick and great for privacy. Most reservations on AT are listed with a virtual phone number, so all you need to do is present the phone number at the hostess stand and you are good to go!
Payouts Blocked Because of Sell Through Rate
Does anyone know how AT plans to handle cases where a seller is quitting the platform but has a sell through rate <25%? The error message I got said to fill more bids or find other ways to increase the rate.
Is AT really going to block sellers from withdrawing their money? Especially revenue made before the sell through rate was introduced??

Let’s go. Get more people placing bids!
I will give you 50% of ALL of my PROFITS if you teach me how to make profits?
LOL. Thank you The New Yorker.
Appointment
Transferring reservations is not supported in AT. Why not just use the name in the AT screenshot?
Buyers interested in Bern's Steakhouse: PLEASE READ
Same goes for 4 Charles and I Sodi
Prepaid Reservation Fee
Agreed. Ultimately not addressing this month after month is clearly resulting in a drop in certain venue’s rankings & sales.
Congrats on 3 mil

Need to cancel a bid, not getting a response… how do I do it?
Click on "Take off the Market Option" in your portfolio
Working on your bid?
Your bid has been “matched” with a reservation. From the time a reservation has been located, the seller of the reservation must connect with moderator to give transfer information for reservation. If the seller;however, does NOT respond to reservation transfer, then your bid is reprocessed and returns to the first step, which is connecting your request to a reservation.
Process after bid is accepted.
Hey @EvocativeFold67, welcome to appointmenttrader! Once the reservation is in your portfolio, you definitely own the timeslot, the review team would not have approved the trade if the reservation wasn't confirmed - so you are going :-) Judging from your post you bid today and are going tomorrow - don't worry as long as you initiated the name transfer, you are good - the transfer service has to work with the opening hours of the reservation team of the respective venue. You will likely see the transfer confirmation a couple hours before your reservation time.
Where do the Reservations on AppointmentTrader come from?
Mostly from people who don't need their reservations or appointments any longer. AT has no relationship with places listed and acts as a platform connecting buyers and sellers making sure that listed reservations are real and that privacy is not compromised when transacting.
What happens if my bid expires unanswered?
Hey @FluffyStar64, thanks for the question! When you place your bid the amount gets transferred in a deposit account, the second you either cancel your bid or a few minutes after the bid expires the funds are moved back into your main account from where you can refund it to your payment method or use for other transactions.
