3 stars for food only.
The one good thing about our experience here is we showed up early for our 7 pm reservation and they did manage to seat us. After that it was downhill. No one came over to our table for at least 15 minutes, not even to take a beverage order. One lady next to us waited so long to be acknowledged that she got up and left. Once we were acknowledged and ordered (wine, a starter, 2 pastas, and a grilled fish entree) the food took over an hour to come out. The truffle pasta was the highlight of our meal. I know that service is different than in the US because they aren't hustling for tips but this was terrible. We've been to multiple countries where tipping culture is nonexistent (including Italy) and this was by far the worst. It seems that they tend to ignore patrons that are younger (than 50) and American. What sets a top tier dining experience apart from a mediocre experience is the service and the service here was subpar at best.
Be the first to ReplyThis place was one of the best I had in my week in London.
Great atmosphere, helpful and friendly waitstaff and great food. Had the tagliolini with clams and courgette and the flavor and portion size was perfect. Highly recommend for anyone looking for nice but not over the top nice Italian in the area
Be the first to ReplyMy latest visit was quite a disappointment.
It's seems like management may have changed because the attitude of the staff has become rather negative and unwelcoming. They made me feel like my arrival was a huge workload for them and disrupted a long break.

We've had a few meals here over the last 6 months so this will be a bit of an amalgamation of them all. This is a really good team with lovely food in a great location so definitely worth a visit. The breakfast is solid as well with excellent eggs. Our dinners have been good, with the crab being a highlight from the starters and then the grill--lamb, venison and any other meat has always been lovely. The fried zucchini is huge and delicious if you want a little crisp with your meal.
Be the first to ReplyExpensive but worth it.
Love the decoration and all the details. The bathroom is unique to say the least. Everything was good. However, the place is a bit small and some waiters seemed a bit unexperienced. We loved the tables right on the street.

... lovely place and I'm sure when it's rocking it's the spot to be. Great street surrounded by shoe makers, suit and shirt makers.... so great.A had a nice glass of Rosè to start and terrific service by the whole staff. Good wine list btw! Started with the burrata, roasted tomatoes on a red tapenade. Amazing!!!! 10 stars. The spaghetti as has been reviewed was ok not great. Something in the sauce I didn't love. All in all, a delightful lunch that happens to be 100 ft from the best cigar shop in all of London!

Check it out well. More to it than sees the eye.Squid salad, nice.Pasta with basil and tomatoes, fine.Service, excellent.A bit overpriced but for the area fair. Will go back.
Be the first to ReplyI came here for a solo lunch and felt a bit underdressed.
You get a real Wall Street vibe as everyone is on business lunches in their suits. That said, the staff is nothing but professional and in no way makes you feel out of place. I was seated promptly where I ordered the special appetizer of the day, steak tartare. I also went with the macaroni lamb ragout as an entree. This was all paired with a refreshing glass of rosé. The tartare was delicious and fresh at the perfect temperature. The quail eggs were a nice touch. The captain provided me a generous heaping of parmigiano reggiano on my macaroni. The serving size is not huge but perfect to be full without feeling bloated. The pricing is a bit on the higher side but well worth it for the food and experience. So go ahead and splurge a bit.

We made an open table reservation yesterday for dinner this evening. We arrived about 20 minutes prior to expecting to wait. Instead we were immediately seated. My partner started with a bowl of potato soup, £10, he said it was fantastic. For mains I ordered the beef fillet, £39, with a side of green beans, £5. My husband chose to enjoy the classic lasagna, £18.Entrees came out in a good amount of time. I asked for my fillet to be prepared medium unfortunately it was served closer to rare. The flavor and size was excellent as well as the green beans. My husband thought his lasagna was the best he had ever had. I tried a bite, it was absolutely fantastic. For dessert we shared the tiramisu, it was excellent and a reasonable price, £8.75Overall we were very pleased, would recommend, and will definitely be back!
Be the first to ReplyUm, let's see.
Delicious eggs. Check. Crispy American-style bacon. Check. Good coffee. Check. What else do you need to know. It's a bit less crowded spacewise than the Wolseley which makes it the perfect place for a business breakfast in Mayfair.
Be the first to ReplyWe dined in the private part of the downstairs dining room.
The food and the service were outstanding. Even though it was set apart, we were not forgotten by the staff. They looked after us so well. The food came out all at the same time for the whole party, not easy to do. Absolutely recommend and would go back next time in London.
Be the first to ReplyWe came to Franco's from the recommendation of our hotel.
The place does get busy, so I definitely recommend a reservation.I had the special lobster ravioli. It was lovely. I was afraid it was going to be a very thick, cream based sauce; however, I was pleased that it was light and butter based. My husband opted for the lasagna. For me, it was too cheesy, but he liked the dish.Portion sizes are pretty large, which is why we did not grab dessert!
Be the first to ReplyGreat spot for a working lunch.
... Always ask for a recommendation for the food and and to date never disappointed. Best to book but must try if you're in the area.... Luckily office is 100m away
Be the first to ReplySuper Italian food.
Had beef which was perfectly cooked and a side of al dente pasta. Highly recommend and worth a visit.

Very pricey (not strange considering the surroundings), but at least the food is up to standard. As is the service. Had a lunch here recently, organic chicken and spinach on the side. The chicked did taste like it was organic (not dry at all) and the spinach was perfectly cooked. For dessert I had the regular scones which were perfect to be honest, as was the cream with which they were served. Enjoyed it quite a lot and although we paid £45 each for a very modest lunch, I would come again.
