🤮 1/5 - The Holiday High Tea at the Four Seasons Adorn Restaurant

The Holiday High Tea at the Four Seasons Adorn Restaurant is a real disappointment, especially when compared to the holiday teas at the Drake and Penninsula. First...there is no music at all, except an annoying throb of bass coming from contemporary recorded music at the nearby bar. We were in some side room with no holiday decorations and no views. It is a hard-edge environment, so the tile floors and high ceilings created a real din...not at all a quiet, relaxing ambiance. The server, friendly at first, disappeared for most of the tea and could be glimpsed now and then dashing into other dining rooms serving others. The scones are tiny mini-scones and when I asked for an extra one, I was told, after a long wait, that there were not extras. Most teas allow for an extra item or two, so this seemed surprisingly stingy. The price is high--the same as you pay elsewhere ($150 per person). The food is so-so and not much of it. On the plus side, the receptionist was very welcoming, we were seated a bit early and moved to a side table when one was available to help with the noise. Warning: this is really a bad choice of holiday teas in Chicago!
