Great Food at Forte by Chef Adrianne
My wife and I was celebrating our 30th wedding anniversary. Since we have been to Chef Adrianne's other two restaurants - Red Fish in Matheson Hammock Park and Vineyard in the Town and Country Mall (both excellent) - we went to Forte in the Gables. The food was outstanding and what was equally great was the Dark Chocolate Nutella Croissant Bread Pudding that came with two scoops of vanilla ice cream. The dessert was big enough for two people to eat. It was the best dessert I have had in a very long time. Oscar the head waiter came around and offered us a generous tasting of some Italian cheese that was delicious. Our server was Alexa who was knowledgeable, personable and very friendly and seemed to actually enjoy her job. When (not if) we go back I hope we get the same server. At the end of the meal Richard Daccarett, the General Manager came at the end of the evening to make certain we enjoyed our meal and experience. We highly recommend this place!
Be the first to ReplyFantastic food & service
Every plate was delicious with a lot of flavors and well presented. The service was also special, Gonzalo, our waiter helped us in a really kind way, always smiling and paying attention to details. Anibal, the manager, came to our table to check if the experience was great. We definitely recommend this place!!
Be the first to ReplyAmazing Birthday Dinner with friends
Alanis and Oscar were our servers and they were AMAZING! We came to celebrate our friends 30th birthday and Forte did not disappoint. The food was delicious, we had the pepperoni pizza, the short rib. Tuesday night is a complimentary bottle of wine with an entree so we definitely took advantage. After our dinner, Richard the GM came by the table to thank us for celebrating with Forte. Will return for another night out !
Be the first to ReplyGreat food and great drinks!
I've been here 3 times now and can say confidently they have some of the best food in Miami. The hot honey and spicy meat pizza is insanely good. The wine list is great and their cocktails are perfect. My only critique is I haven't loved sitting at their tables because they aren't designed very well (can you please add purse hooks?) and they stuff a lot on a small two-top. I prefer to sit at the bar.
Happy hour is excellent!
DISSAPOINTED -MEDIOCRE FOOD
We are a fan of Adriana for many years since she opened up in Kendall at 137 Ave We have been to most of her venues. I don't know what is going on in this locale but is shameful. l do not foresee a next time
It was my birthday celebration. There were 5 guests and 4 Luncheon dinners had to be returned. The chicken picatta was horrible, chicken was gummy, tasteless and looked totally disgusting. I had the 24hour Ribs it tasted awful reminded me of a Campbellโs soup gravy, on the other hand the Pepperoni pizza that we ordered as appetizer was delicious , None of the food ordered up to the standard expected for a 5 star restaurant .
We had an out of town guest and we really hyped the restaurant. I was very disappointed and embarrassed that 4 of my guests went home hungry!
I been to your other venues and never had a problem
Ok
Went there on Dec 11, with my sister, brother n law and wife. Was immediately seated and attended to by Oscar our waiter. Very nice and polite. We had some appetizers i.e. Bone Marrow, Gazpacho soup, and cold seafood delight that I cant remember the name. All very good and tasty. The main course was different. It took a long time for it to come out of the kitchen. I had the breaded pork chop, which was cold, hard, and very thin. My sister had some huge hunk of meat on a bone that she couldn't finish and had to take it home. My brother n law had the steak which was also cold and not cooked how he ordered it. I forgot what my wife had but she didn't eat it all either. The drinks were nice, I had lemon aid which was very tart and homemade. We finished the meal with coffee and two strawberry cheesecake dessert. Nothing extraordinary about those dishes. The food was very pricey but average. Not worth driving an hour from Broward County to go there.
Be the first to ReplySuperb Italian Food
The food is simply delicious. Prices are on the high side, with one exception: we ordered an antipasto with four different items (three cheeses and a mortadella). That order was, in itself, $68 - $17 for each item. I find that pricing to be utterly ridiculous for what we received! The rest of the items were pricy, but OK. As I said, the food was delicious!

Cocktails were deliciously made at the bar, then seated at a very charismatic table and had an excellent waiter Justin. He proceeded to provide us with a detailed explanation of all of the specials which we tried the appetizer zucchini special which was so delicious! In addition, we had the mahi mahi which was out of this world!! Not to mention the delicious pasta rigatoni. Must TRY!!!! Overall, the experience, ambiance and food taste and quality are superior to any other restaurant on the mile. Highly recommend you try it!!

I vacillated over giving this rating since I might be a bit too harsh, but I decided that the restaurant just isn't quite up to snuff yet.
Be the first to ReplyA true taste of Italy, with perhaps hit-or-miss service
We had a great night at Chef Adrienne's Forte for our anniversary dinner. It wasn't a flawless night, but for a very busy and relatively new restaurant on the Mile a few hiccups weren't really going to take away from our experience. The first hiccup was when we sat, with two other tables along the expo line of the kitchen. It took a little over 20 minutes to get a waiter to our table, but once the table next to use waived down a manager we really did get stellar service (not in a make-up sort of way, but it finally kicked up into gear).
Our waiter, because of the delay, asked us if we wanted to put in our whole order and she would space it out properly for us. And she did! We had cocktails, a warm burrata, and complimentary bread with lemon/rosemary infused olive oil (which was stellar) for appetizers. The bottle of wine and our entrees came at the same time, which was perfect timing, and we were given the true Italian service experience with our waitress refilling our glasses for us and a proper 3 hour, well-paced meal throughout. Of course, this was our anniversary, and I'm sure we could have expedited the meal if we wanted to, but we really did enjoy the vibe (it's a little loud and crowded, but it's beautiful inside and being by the kitchen lowered the volume a bit).
Both my pappardelle and my wife's carbonara (which had an interesting roasted twist to it) were stellar. The portions were big, especially the pappardelle, which probably came with a pound of braised shortrib on top. At least, it felt like it. Brought some home from the next day!
Then we finished with a port wine and the bread pudding. Our waitress even got the kitchen to put a cannoli, which are reserved for another dessert, on top for us. The tab was pricey, but not too bad for everything that we ordered. Of course, the same meal would be a third of the price in Italy, but it's also expensive to get to Italy!
Which brings us to the ingredients and composition of the courses. Everything is in the Roma/Fiorentina style; simple composition, fresh and high quality ingredients. The san marzano tomatoes are sweet like candy, the olive oil is subtle yet flavorful, and the pasta is all homemade and perfectly cooked al-dente. It's the true experience that evokes memories from past trips to Italy. Sure, it's a bit pricey to go too regularly, but it's worth it for the important components that make truly memorable dishes.
The only thing was that they asked us if it was a special occasion on the reservation, and we indicated that it was our anniversary, yet there was no special presentation or comped dessert. We didn't come here for this, so it wasn't a big deal, but you wonder why they ask in the first place .
On top of that, the vibe and prices for the happy hour look pretty great, so we will definitely be coming back for aperitivo soon!
second time around disappointed
Bellini's excellent , squid ink linguine a la vongole had taste of gritty sand, my spaghettis carbonara was too salty to enjoy maybe they should put less cinguale . Service this time mediocre the waiter kept attending a big table and ignoring us .The first visit was great, this one disappointing. there is no consistency, its either hit or miss
Be the first to ReplyIt's not her forte
I'm a fan of chef Adrianne and was looking forward to visit her new venture in the Gables. First lest dispel the fantasy that this is "upscale Italian cuisine." I mean, they serve pizza for god's sake! The wine list is clumsy (perhaps by design?) in that the wine by the glass options -- which aren't many -- are dispersed throughout the wine list. I decided instead to have a gin tonic and while tasty it was gone after a few sips. And that's because they cram the glass with all sorts of fruits and vegetables and other garnish crowding out the liquid in the glass. The burrata was very good, unadorned and straightforward. The tagliatelle bolognese, however, had issues. For starters, it was more pappardelle than tagliatelle; the pasta was very broad for tagliatelle. And some of it was under cooked; it needed a few more minutes in the pot. The sauce was tasty and sweet, not the most traditional bolognese I've had, but competent. And finally a nice Lavazza expresso to finish the meal. I ate outside in the courtyard since I dont fancy seating next to maskless strangers in an indoor setting. And hence the single biggest issue with Forte. Their neighbor across the courtyard is a South Beach wannabe, The Gramercy. The bump and grind music and aspiring denizens of club world are ugly reminders that even sedate Coral Gables and its stern guardians of accepted taste are not immune to the allure of "cool." This abomination of a place casts a long shadow on outside seating for Forte. After 50 minutes I couldnt take it any more and left the empty terrace. I guess my fellow diners felt the same.
Be the first to ReplyNice lunch and service
We were five for lunch and everyone liked their choice, nothing really over the top but pretty decent. The cesar salad was fresh, the pizza with hot honey nice and crispy, and different, the mussels were also good but the order was a bit small for a lunch, the burrata was pretty tasteless. The bread was excellent and the olive oil was of very good quality, and it was a nice little touch to put the lemon slice and fres rosemary in the olive oil for dipping.
We enjoyed sitting in the patio but inside the restaurant is very nice and airy.
The service was prompt, pleasant, courteous and efficient. Overall was a nice lunch and the prices were reasonable for what we had.
