Beautiful restaurant, delicious food
Our hotel concierge recommended this place and we were thoroughly pleased. Of course good food is paramount but it’s even better when served in a pretty place with great service. Fia has all three. While it didn’t bother us, I noticed it was lively and loud in some area of the restaurant so if you’re looking for a small, quiet location this may not be it. We were there on a Thursday night around 7. However they sat us on an upper level near a fireplace and there were only a few tables there so it was nice. There were several items on the menu I wanted to try so it’s always good to have multiple choices. We went with the fried smoked burrata and the beef Wellington and both were quite good.

Incredible dinner and the most charming ambience! We booked an early dinner based off social media reviews and so glad we did. Easy parking, friendly staff and such a fun vibe! We were seated in the portion by the lights and trees and fireplace - charming! Dinner was delightful. So many options and we enjoyed them all! Garlic bread and sweet corn pasta and carrots were our favorites. Beef Wellington and Spicy Tuna were both good and beautiful presentation of all the food items. Chocolate dome for dessert was fun although a lot after a big meal. Highly recommend!!

Food was average. It was so dark in the patio could not even see what you were eating.
Excessively noisy, could barely have a conversation. And music blasting.
It is expensive but if a place is worth it that is okay. This was not.
It is nothing like they say on their website.
Whole outdoor area all broken up in sections, just totally uninviting.
I was a relief to leave.
So disappointed was really looking forward to this Birthday dinner.
MAMA FIA!
We dined there based on the recommendation of the Shutters on the Beach Concierge. We booked in advance and requested patio dining. Their website was quite appealing with their menu and patio photos. Also, ratings were very high overall.
For the most part, we did enjoy our dining experience there. We weren't able to get a patio table, but did have a table inside that was comfortable. Our server was quite efficient, perhaps too fast. We ordered our main courses of Capellini for myself and Scallops for my wife. In addition, we ordered their Ciabatta, Brussel Sprouts, and Grilled Corn (on the cob). Finally, for dessert, we ordered the Lemon Mousse.
While waiting for our food order, we started with several glasses of Feuillate champagne by the glass. That was a good start. The only negative was the restaurant's "family style" approach with our order. Pretty much everything came at once. If you have a party of more than two, this might be beneficial. For us, it was too much and too fast. Our table was crowded with all the items and we felt rushed.
Having said that, we did enjoy all the items we ordered. There's really so much with their portions so bountiful. Just be aware that the sizes are quite generous so be very hungry when you go.
I should also mention that the patio area is very much what you see on their website. So, if you want seating there, you probably should arrive early and request such seating (although they don't guarantee such seating to the best of our knowledge).
They need a new GM
Yes, the food is excellent, but there's more to a restaurant than that, and when the stand out is their arrogant attitude, one should never know when they'll be the victin. GO ELSEWHERE.. While they would have levied a $100 cancellation penalty on us (and everyone else) if not given at least 24hrs notice, the GM: Calvin Clark had no problem giving us a mere FIVE HOURS in advance of dinner call cancelling the outdoor table (which one selects on Open Table when making the reservation) saying, 'we're very busy. we never guarantee any particular seating. None of the many restarrants I've worked in do." Covid oblivious, but more importantly: unapologetic. I have eaten here 9/18/21, but never again until management changes perhaps. this was 11/16/21
Be the first to ReplyOne of the best dinners in LA/SM
Pros:
Beautiful outdoor courtyard
Warm, friendly service…it’s a nice restaurant, but it’s not stuffy or snobby
THE FOOD! We are never disappointed! A few of my favorites…
Endive and peach salad/ ricotta/ truffle honey
Cavatelli/ Parmesan/ brown butter/ shaved truffle
Impossible lasagna
Tiramisu or the chocolate dome
Cons:
It’s pricey.
You need a reservation.
PATIO DINING
Fancy restaurant with big outdoor patio, great ambience, big bar and a variety of sometimes unusual dishes. Prices are on the high side with all pasta dishes topping $ 30 with the exception of the lasagna which I cannot recommend. Hardly any wine under $ 75 per bottle with many wines over $ 100 per bottle. Corkage is $ 45. I'm not going for dinner again but maybe brunch is better.
Be the first to ReplyThe Perfect dinner!
Had a wonderful dinner here last night. Loved the burrata with iberico ham and the hamache yellow tail tuna started was incredible. We split the blue crab with sweet corn pasta and the diver scallops over resoto were incredible. The wine list is great and the chocolate desert flamed at our table was stunning. And a special shout out to the manager on duty for us around 7 pm. We were seated in the bar section and my compromised daughter was getting closed in by a large bar crowd. The manager did an amazing job move that crowd away from my daughter flawlessly! Thanks for a perfect evening!

Absolutely beautiful multi-level patio setting with twinkling lights, fire bowls and good distancing for Covid. Excellent service- you felt very cared for-was not stuffy-attentive!, excellent food from start to finish. We enjoyed the Hamachi appetizer, shared heirloom green salad with Green Goddess dressing, delicious Halibut, wonderful steak, great scallops.Had wine special on Kosta Browne-great! Save room for the impressive dessert- flaming chocolate dome. Very special dinner!
Be the first to ReplyExcellent patio dining experience
Excellent patio dining experience during Covid. Setting is beautiful and food is delicious but indeed expensive as is typical of LA scene. Get past that and enjoy the flavors, service and setting. Even with face shielded staff in place, you’ll momentarily forget we are in a pandemic. Started off with an imaginative cocktail for each of us. Spicy tuna arancini, burrata and poached pear salad, and table side Caesar were perfect starters for 3. Each of us also enjoyed pastas for our mains-vegan lasagna, truffle pasta and my favorite-lobster bolognese!! That dish was special!! One dessert shared (olive oil cake) was least interesting aspect of our meal. One additional note, the wine list is pricey too but we spoke with the sommelier and explained our desire for a light Italian red that wasn’t overpriced and she suggested a delicious and affordable choice. A nice evening was had by all.
Be the first to ReplyAmazing atmosphere, a little too stuffy
We had a great time at Villa. The truffle pasta was literally amazing. The vibe is so cute. Our only complaint was that it was a little too stuffy and uptight with the expensive prices and the fact that the host made us feel uncomfortable treating us different because we just came from the beach and asked to go into the restroom to change into proper attire before we were seated!
Be the first to ReplyGreat vibe, unnecessarily expensive
This is an ideal spot for a date, with their beautiful patio and chill ambiance. The food menu is really limited, and very overpriced (as it expected from such a restaurant). Wine markups were even worse. Perfect place to go on a date from time to time, but not the sort of restaurant one go on a regular basis.
Be the first to ReplyGreat experience with a very nice vibe
This is in the space that used to be The Wilshire for many years. We did go a lot when it was the Wilshire but this is definitely an upgrade. When you walk in there is now a very modern and relaxed vibe. We went for drinks and some appetizers. Place was quite busy but not noisy. Service was fine but everything else was great. Will definitely retirn
