Fia Restaurant Santa Monica Reviews from The Last Year
Giving this four stars purely based on the atmosphere.
Food is good but very pricey. Cocktails or delicious as we're all of our entrées. Great place for girls night out birthday parties or just a date night. Used to be Wilshire restaurant which I loved and now this is a good replacement.
Had dinner here last night with friends after hearing good
Had dinner here last night with friends after hearing good things, but frankly it was below average. I wanted to love it, but in a nutshell the food was subpar, service was not great, and the price isn't worth it. I'd only come here again for the atmosphere as it does have a fun vibe and the patio especially is gorgeous, but if you're looking for a quality dinner then I'd recommend elsewhere. - Food: I had the vegan lasagna and BF had the short rib. Lasagna was not flavorful and was very dull. Short rib was a little dry, still good but have had much better elsewhere for the same price. I will say I got the broccolini and that was delish. My BF also really liked the wagyu meatballs and calamari, but overall for the price you'd get expect more flavor and punch with the main dishes. - Drinks: They were okay, not big game changing. - Service: Our server rarely checked in and took a quite a long time to take our order. It was a busy Friday night so perhaps that played into it, but overall was not impressed with the service especially at those prices. May come back just for the drinks and ambiance but again would prefer elsewhere for a yummy dinner.

Came here with a party of 7 for my birthday and only have positive things to say. Everyone was very pleasant from the host, waiter, waiter who took over, and the sommelier. The food and ambiance were both 10/10, and we ordered a lot of things. Standouts were the lemon ravioli, garlic bread, yellowtail crudo, and chicken parm, + brussels. I will absolutely be coming back.

The cutest green oasis for brunch! I came here for brunch and had the best experience. We got a cute table up on the top part of the restaurant and it felt like a tree house. They have a full bar and some tables where the seats are great for larger parties. It's also a great location for a cute date. Be aware- the food portion for weekend brunch is huge! They have a starter plate of pastries which were SO delicious!!! You also get a choice of mimosa, Marg, or rose to pick from as your beverage. For the main course, I got the soft scrambled eggs with caviar and crème fraiche. It was so delicious. The flavors were perfectly balanced and also just went well with the pastries. I'm curious to come back and try their dinner menu :)

Was absolutely blown away- the ambiance, service, food, and drinks were all top notch! My only complaint was our group of 10 was crunched into a table against the wall and we had to sit on an awful bunch which was crowded with decorative pillows.
"That ship has sailed" Topline review - - I have eaten
"That ship has sailed" Topline review - - I have eaten there 3 times in the last year. Each time was less good than the previous one. the last meal was just flat out disappointing. So, I say this with a heavy heart, I would not return there. More detailed reasoning below. To give this review some context, I have been a big fan of Chef Brendan for years, since he was at Birch and when Fia was formerly called the Wilshire. In that time, I hosted 2 holiday parties and a poker game at those restaurants and dined there on a number of occasions. During those years, and from my perspective, the meals were highlighted by excellent service, innovative cuisine in some instances, awesome preparation of standard foods, excellent mixology, and generous portions. While I always enjoy venturing out into Los Angeles and sampling different restaurants, I always looked forward to returning to Birch, the Wilshire, and Fia for the aforementioned reasons. Not any more. My thoughts about the most recent meal: Ambience (4 stars): Fia always has maintained cool vibe, with a great outdoor setting, cool seating in different places, and a lively, fun atmosphere. Server (4 stars): Our server was pleasant and efficient Drinks (3 stars): I had an Old fashioned. It was adequate, but nothing special. My dining partner had the eponymous specialty drink with the rosemary lit on fire. She liked it. Food (1.5 stars) Salmon cones - the salmon was delicious, but the portion size was dinky, as though it was part of a tasting menu. Garlic bread - In this case, the portion size was excellent and the bread was appropriately warm upon delivery. The garlic butter spread was overpowering in terms of the garlic. Pasta dishes - We had the tortellini with the meyer lemon, spinach, asparagus, and, I think, truffles. The pasta was overly lemony, which drowned out the other flavors, and they only served 6 for 4 people. Crispy Brussel sprouts - We really enjoyed those, particularly with the pomegranate and what tasted like a balsamic-based sauce that accompanied it. Broccolini - It was a puny serving of 4 spears. They were cooked appropriately, to just the right firmness. the serving size was ridiculous - - 4 spears for $18? Whole fish - It was atrocious. There was very little fish. What meat was there was infused with fish bones. Easily one of the worst entrees that I have had in years. Price - It was $600 for a subpar meal for 4. It was frustrating for me to write this review. I prefer to not write negativev reviews, especially for a location about which I have fond memories. However, in my opinion, the ship has sailed on Fia. There was a time when this place had some serious mojo...not anymore.
Beautiful outdoor restaurant tucked away in an alley.
Gorgeous lighting and trees that really set the scene whether you're on a date or celebrating an occasion. Service was amazing, staff very helpful and clean bathrooms. Only thing was the specials off the menu are overwhelming. But we stuck to ordering mostly on the menu items and were so happy! It's a pretty penny to eat here, but worth the experience.

Can't believe it has taken us this long to check out Fia, but we won't let it be this long before we return to try more things on the menu! Lovely setting with a covered patio, many strings of lights on the trees, and heat lamps galore. There are enough gaps between the walls and the plastic that I felt allowed sufficient ventilation while preventing the space from getting too cold. Service was friendly and attentive. Food was amazing. We had the spicy salmon tartare cones, which were so fun to eat. Loved the contrast in taste and texture. The arrabiatta tagliatelle was perfectly cooked al dente, with just a kick of heat. The chicken parmesan was enormous and served in a hot skillet. The breading had a nice crunch, the cheese was melty without being too burnt, and the chicken was nice and tender. The Brussels sprouts were amazing - smoky, sweet, and just a touch spicy. We ended up with leftovers for another meal. Can't wait to come back with our truffle-loving child!
Went here on date night.
Crowd was mixed and dressed casual to upscale casual. I would suggest putting in your best Zara outfit no need to been fancy. They have indoor outdoor seating (heat lamps). Staff is very professional and ready to work. Cocktail menu is curated. Tried the Sea Bass which was filet and seasoned well. The Vegan lasagna was absolutely amazing. I don't believe there was a fake cheese but high suggested you try. Wine menu was high quality. Also loved the valet having a true drive way/ parking lot. They deserve every tip. Will be coming back!
My aunt and I agreed to give Fia a second chance as the
My aunt and I agreed to give Fia a second chance as the other reviews are so complimentary. I'm so glad we did. This time we tried dinner and it was wonderful. I do love their patio. It's charming and cozy. Lots of greenery and tables aren't so close that you can hear anyone else's conversation. To start we ordered the garlic bread. It came out hot and soft on the bottom but crunchy on the top. So delicious. Not overpowering just perfect. We were brought a complementary amuse-bouche, a salmon wasabi mousse, and my aunt said that it reminded her of French Laundry, which is super high praise from her. I think this might have been her favorite part of the whole fabulous meal. For our mains, my aunt chose the Truffle Filet and it came with Dauphinoise Potatoes. The steak was juicy and flavorful. The potatoes nice and cheesy. Oh! I almost forgot! There was such theatricality with the presentation. There was a sauce that the server poured and then a torch with flames to melt the butter. So much fun! I ordered the Chicken Parmesan. It was lightly breaded, perfectly crispy on the outside and moist on the inside. Such great flavor from both the chicken and the marinara sauce. For dessert we tried the Chocolate Dome and the Cascading Tiramisu. Again, a fun bit of theatricality with the Chocolate Dome. The dome was set on fire and then hot liquid poured over to melt it and release all of the goodness hiding inside. My aunt took the first bite and I asked her how it was and she said "Wicked!" I tried it and it was so rich and smooth. The perfect chocolate dessert. The Cascading Tiramisu really did cascade and was just as good as it looks. It was creamy and delicate and not overly sweet. The service was amazing. The whole team went out of their way to make us feel special. Friendly runners standing discreetly off to the side keeping an eye out for anything that needed to be done (Thank you, Reggie Martinez). Brittany, our Server, was friendly and knowledgable and brilliantly tempted us with the specials. Patrick, the Sommelier, brought a nice glass of Prosecco over which my aunt really enjoyed. As we were leaving my aunt leaned in to me and said "I'm glad we came. I'm impressed." I completely agree with that. This is now one of my favorite spots and I will definitely be returning.
Beautiful restaurant, delicious food
Our hotel concierge recommended this place and we were thoroughly pleased. Of course good food is paramount but it’s even better when served in a pretty place with great service. Fia has all three. While it didn’t bother us, I noticed it was lively and loud in some area of the restaurant so if you’re looking for a small, quiet location this may not be it. We were there on a Thursday night around 7. However they sat us on an upper level near a fireplace and there were only a few tables there so it was nice. There were several items on the menu I wanted to try so it’s always good to have multiple choices. We went with the fried smoked burrata and the beef Wellington and both were quite good.
Must try when in Santa Monica
Incredible dinner and the most charming ambience! We booked an early dinner based off social media reviews and so glad we did. Easy parking, friendly staff and such a fun vibe! We were seated in the portion by the lights and trees and fireplace - charming! Dinner was delightful. So many options and we enjoyed them all! Garlic bread and sweet corn pasta and carrots were our favorites. Beef Wellington and Spicy Tuna were both good and beautiful presentation of all the food items. Chocolate dome for dessert was fun although a lot after a big meal. Highly recommend!!

Thank you for the question, if a seller is working on answering your bid, you cannot cancel it until their time is up and the bid is released back to you. The full amount of funds then go back into your AT account. Typically a seller has 48-72 hours to complete the bid.
