Farmacia Boston Reviews
Came for Chapter 15, which was a Korean theme.
The drinks here are so good, really on a level with anything else you can get in Boston. Worth the hassle of getting tickets, but I would pick your menu. This one skewed a bit sweet, which makes sense with Korean flavors, and they did a great job making sure the bites were accessible and delicious. Kayla was amazing behind the bar--it felt like your comfortable neighborhood bar just decided to start pouring the most incredible crafted cocktails. I wish it were easier to get in, but genuinely one of the best drinks you can get in Boston.
The cocktail experience was fun, informative and excellent.
We met some great couples with the cocktail experience. However, that owner injected himself in the couples conversations multiple times based on his dissatisfaction with the topic that unfortunately derailed the experience.

I need to try it again ...
What a fun concept and great drinks. It definitely feels rushed, so I'd love to see them add on more time for the experience. Our bartender/server didn't seem very engaged with our group. I know she was busy, but she seemed like she didn't want to talk or converse. That I think made the experience a little awkward and set the tone for us. She was nice but kind of short and seemed very preoccupied. Hopefully, that makes sense. I'd go again, but I'd like to sit with a different bartender to see if we get a different experience. Don't come hungry - they give 2 small bar snacks that are good, but don't expect full-size apps :) You up front when you book and its very limited seating so plan ahead!

Such a lovely spot- it's a pain in the butt to get reservations but I finally snagged one! The bar wasn't full when we were seated, so a few people were able to walk in. They were told that they could have one drink but would need to leave by the next seating. We received little dried fruit, a small soup to share, and ice cream as our snacks throughout the tasting. The drinks were delicious- after our first drinks, we could pick from the menu for the next 3. The drinks were super unique and I loved the glasses they chose! The spicy drinks were a little too intense, but I loved the others. It was fun chatting with the bartender and other guests. Definitely a good plan to come here after dinner - it's a lot of alcohol!
I wanted to buy gift cards for Christmas.
No ability to do so any no way to contact them. I emailed them three times with no response. I decided to reserve the time and pay for it. No availability through February? No thanks.
Yeah, this place's time has passed.
Phillip Rolfe is nowhere to be found, and even his backup bartender has a foot out the door as she's headed full-time for the new place they're opening. The first thing they served was - your choice of beer or cider- poured straight from the can. They weren't even freshly opened cans! That and a syrupy pumpkin liqueur. Whr was the last time you went out for cocktails and STARTED with something syrupy sweet. Talk about setting the wrong tone! As it turned out, all of the cocktails were cloyingly sweet, resulting in a single note start to finish. And, while inventive, most everything was pre-made, so there wasn't any of the artistry I expected for three $33 cocktails on display. The food? A piece of pumpkin bread with some apple slices, a quarter-bowl of soup and a small scoop of gelato - all of which two people were expected to share! I was super excited to check this out. It was a 'nice' experience, but really not close to what I expected.
Suzae made the BEST dirty martini of my life.
I denounce all Dallas bars in the name of this place. 10/10 would recommend all drinks here.
I had an excellent time at this cocktail experience.
I was here for the summer camp chapter and it was excellent. I had the mezcal snowcone, berry ice tea cocktail, melon martini, and snores espresso martini. Each were really excellent! There was more food included than I expected. They have solid allergen free alternatives to the preset food (I got Burrata instead of a hot dog). The snow cone was my fav. I'd come come more if the reservations were easier to lock down!

We were on a wait list and they never let us know that we didn't make it. We wanted to go there saw it on Meet Boston We come once a year from New Mexico.
Love this place and i try to come to every single chapter!
Love this place and i try to come to every single chapter! Great creativity on all the drinks and the snack/pairing. I love having the set/prepaid menu experience. Solid ambiance and service every time. You will need to eat before or after your seating as there's no true food here..but it's the North End and Italian restaurants are in abundance.
A little late posting this review from the late summer menu
A little late posting this review from the late summer menu but wow was this such a great experience! This place is a small 9 person bar top which lets you chat while enjoying your drinks and get to know the people sitting next to you. The bartender is great and really knowledgeable and comes up with some awesome cocktail creations. Make sure that you sign up for the mailing list to make sure that you can get reservations though. Tickets are the only way to get a seat but it's so worth it and if we can will definitely be going again!
Ive been trying to get in here for a YEAR! WOW, WOW, WOW!
Ive been trying to get in here for a YEAR! WOW, WOW, WOW! If you like artisan drinks this is your place. That is all.
A remarkable experience.
Every time I thought it couldn't get any better, it absolutely did. This concept - complex, quirky, & unique cocktails curated to broaden & challenge your palette in a small intimate setting - is the dream. It was such a joy to watch the bar staff work their magic as we sat back & allowed it to happen all around us. The theme of the night: An Exploration of the Elements. Each cocktail related to either air, water, fire, or earth. We were allowed to choose 3 cocktails out of the 9 available throughout the night. My choices: 1 - In a Pickle 2 - Traditional Absinthe Service 3 - Roots I'm not surprised that the pickle cocktail was my favorite (it's right up my alley), but I was blown away by just how good it was. It was dill pickle infused Chopin, tomato water, lime, & an amalgamation of the most delicious savory spices. It was garnished with a pickle, of course. STELLAR! I would drink 5 if I could. Alongside our drinks, we were also served small plates & little treats. Imagine my excitement when I realized that cotton candy was one of the pairings. Imagine the shock of everyone at the bar when I announced it was my first time trying cotton candy in my life. Such a fun touch! The staff was also very accommodating to allergies/food sensitivities. Phil, the bar director, was a great presence behind the bar. A true professional, but also just a pleasant guy to be around. Jovial & a little cheeky. As past reviews have mentioned, it's very difficult to secure a reservation. Tickets become available 60 days in advance at noon sharp on the first of the month. Be quick to reserve your spot! Payment is required when you confirm your reservation. We absolutely can't wait to go back. Thank you, Farmacia!
Farmacia delivers a fabulous cocktail experience.
Tasted our way through Chapter 6 - An Exploration of the Elements. The bar itself is a bit intimate, even for the 9 guests they seat at a time, but aside from that it was a great experience. Talented team serving complex and balanced cocktails.
If you're searching for a unique cocktail experience,
If you're searching for a unique cocktail experience, you've found your destination! And even better, it completely changes every few months, so you can keep coming back for another new journey. Coming up with such a carefully crafted menu of 10+ drinks all aligned to the same theme is impressive enough, but doing it again and again is even more astounding. There are no gimmicks at Farmacia, just delicious drinks thoughtfully curated, expertly crafted, and masterfully served. Phil has concocted the best cocktail bar you can find. If you've enjoyed the Baldwin Bar, Drink, the Aviary, the NoMad, or Milk & Honey; you will love this concept. Prepare yourself to buy some tickets for you and your friends the moment a new batch is released, you won't regret it!

The most unique and interesting cocktail bar I think you'll find in Boston. The menu of drinks rotates about every two months and you'll need to buy tickets online to score a seat at this 9 person bar. Each reservation is 1.5 hours long and will generally come with a selection of 3 boozy cocktails that follow the theme. With Phil driving the menu and the selection of snacks, I know I'll always have a good time here and possibly stumble home. The service is great and would recommend to anybody who comes to visit Boston to try and snag a reservation here and see what the hypes about.

Farmacia exceeded my expectations with its meticulously crafted cocktails and intimate setting. Attending "Chapter 6: an exploration of the elements" was a delight, as each drink showcased inventiveness without sacrificing deliciousness. As a certified pickle-person, I couldn't get enough of the In A Pickle cocktail. And let me tell you, the clarified milk punch surprised me in the best way possible. Who would have thought something with a name like that could be so delicious? The attentive staff and cozy nine-seat bar made the experience even more special. For an unforgettable cocktail adventure that perfectly balances creativity and taste, Farmacia is an absolute must-visit.

We had an amazing time.
Delicious drinks, great space and Phillip was incredible. Loved drinking and chatting our way through the menu. We'll be back! (If we can get a reservation)
Great experience! The cocktails were delicious.
We experienced the Pirates Life menu and the angostura colada was by far my favorite. The atmosphere was great and the bar staff were great to talk to. I look forward to their upcoming menus!
We were looking forward to trying Farmacia.
The concept had great potential (the themed idea reminded us of the fantastic seasonal program run by Naomi Levy at Bow Market) and we are big cocktail people, always looking for places with an interesting, innovative bar program. Our experience was really disappointing. The cocktails were just okay, not really balanced, a little basic, with some "bold" choices that just fell flat (a drink with 1oz of angostura...just no). The snacks were really random: banana chips with a jerk-flavored vanilla yogurt dip, a Jamaican vegan soup (Jamaica being apparently where the bulk of the inspiration for the Caribbean theme came from) and ginger ice cream. The service was just underwhelming. The bartender, who is also the managing partner and the mind behind the concept and recipes, did not greet us, he didn't spend any time talking to us to introduce the concept and the experience (apart from commenting that the soup was the best vegan thing he ever cooked), and did not say a word about any of the drinks he was serving us - just placed them on the bar and turned away. Completely self-absorbed, he spent the night joking around with another party and talking about himself. The server, on the other hand, was very friendly and engaged with us - but did not have the expertise to discuss any of the cocktails. The service was sloppy, and felt somehow rushed and slow at the same time. For $70 per person, we were expecting a remarkable experience and got none of that. I suggest you skip this one and instead pay a visit to Birds of Paradise in Brighton.

I came to Farmacia on a Friday night in January at 5pm, just as they were opening. We made our reservations far in advance. Just as many other have noted, it's pretty hard to get a reservation, so be sure to book as soon as the openings become available.I'm not really a big cocktail person in general, so this was definitely a treat for me. I could tell the drinks were of high quality, which I appreciated. When I visited, the theme was tropical, so the whole menu of drinks and snacks was based around that, and the bartenders even worse Hawaiian shirts. I enjoyed all the drinks I tried, with the exception of the espresso martini, which included pineapple (per the tropical theme), but I didn't like the flavor combination. If I could make any improvements, I wish they provided some more food and it would be nice not to be limited to 1.5 hours. We were a party of three and they only gave us two soups and two ice creams, which I thought was a bit odd, especially given the price tag. Towards the end, we had to rush to finish our drinks. To me, this was fun for a one time thing and the drinks were definitely nicely crafted, but I would prefer to go elsewhere where there are more food options and would rather not be limited to a given theme. I would recommend it if you're looking for an intimate spot, maybe to celebrate an anniversary or splurge for a fancy date night!
The drinks were good.
The atmosphere was cozy, but the man that owns/runs it is incredibly vain. For example, when asked what his favorite drink was on the menu, he responded, "all of them are my favorite, I made them." Perhaps he was having an off day, but his attitude/the costumer service ruined the experience for me and those I was with.

This tucked away bar offers a full course meal of seasonal cocktails. You'll have to snag a reservation at 12 noon on the first day of the month to get in, but once in, it is simple and easy. Arrive at your well-timed seating and feast your eyes for an experience. The cocktails were all very heavy, so while I'd suggest eating before you come, don't eat too much. Beyond the cocktails, you'll have three small food plates and a fun interaction with the knowledgeable, sarcastic, and chill bartender.

Went for the first time tonight and had an unreal experience. The bartender/owner is incredibly nice and hospitable. The drinks were spectacular and like nothing I've ever tasted.
Stellar service, our bartender was thoroughly entertaining.

Had an absolutely incredible experience at Farmacia for their 3rd chapter - Flavors of the Fall Harvest. My wife and I have tried each of their three seasonal cocktail menus so far and each one has blown us away. The best in the city.
I don't normally write reviews, but had to for this place.
Not only was Phil and the service absolutely incredible, but these are some of the best drinks I've had anywhere, not just Boston.Highly highly recommend having a date night here, you won't be disappointed.I shouldn't even write this review so less people know about it, but it's that good.
A true hidden gem.
We absolutely loved our experience here. While it is almost impossible to get a reservation, it is worth it when you do. The cocktail menu changes seasonally which is cool. Philip, the bar manager, is so knowledgeable about the cocktails he's making and can answer any questions you have. Experience: First you start off with a taster, then move on to two drinks of your choosing from the seasonal menu and then there is a dessert cocktail at the end. Perfect for a date night out in the city. P.S. Look for the snake logo on the door, it was kind of hard to find.

Let's say Peter has a great morning and decides to take his three friends to Farmacia Boston at 6 PM the same day.
He checks the restaurant's website and sees that no reservations are available. He then looks at the Farmacia Boston page on AppointmentTrader, but finds that there are no user postings either.
That's where the community-driven bid process comes in.
Peter can place a bid on AppointmentTrader, which serves as a reward for any community member who chooses to work on securing the reservation. AT then notifies experienced users who may be able to help.
Step-by-Step Process
1.) Setting a Reward (Bid)
* AppointmentTrader uses historical data to recommend a reasonable reward amount for securing a reservation - let's say $100.
* Peter really wants to go, so he increases the bid (or reward) to $200.
* At this stage, the reservation does not exist yet.
2.) A Community User Picks Up the Bid
* DistinguishedTree58, an experienced AT user, has a strong track record of successfully securing reservations and low refund requests, they receive a notification about Peter's bid.
* DistinguishedTree58 picks up the bid, meaning they will now work on securing the reservation.
* Peter can now talk to DistinguishedTree58 for any questions Peter may have as DistinguishedTree58 user fills the bid.
3.) Finding the Reservation
* DistinguishedTree58 now uses their connections at Farmacia Boston to secure the table.
* If they successfully get the 6 PM table for four, Peter receives a confirmation that the reservation has been secured.
* If DistinguishedTree58 fails to secure the reservation, the bid is returned to the pool so another user can try.
4.) Payment & Protection
* Once the reservation is secured, DistinguishedTree58 receives the $200 reward which is credited to DistinguishedTree58's AT balance, where users manage their own funds and can withdraw via available payout options such as bank transfer, PayPal, or Zelle.
* Peter can now enjoy the dinner with his friends at Farmacia Boston!
* As with all transactions on AT, disputes and no-show fees are handled through the platform's community-driven resolution system. Users with a strong track record are incentivized to fulfill bids successfully, and community members can report issues to maintain trust in the marketplace.
