Solid tapas spot with non traditional interesting plates
Solid tapas spot with non traditional interesting plates (no tortilla or pan de tomato here). Food: 4.5 Service: 4 Atmosphere: 4 Cost to worth it rating: 3 Return worthiness: yes Highlights: - Jamon: best we had all weekend. Thin slices of shiny meat candy. Couidve stop snacking on it. 5 stars - Octopus: small coin slices with a nice char on top of mashed potatoes. 4.5 stars - Pork cheek and fries in a rich brown sauce. 4.5 stars - Cigar: thin phyllo for long cigar shaped filled with cuttlefish. Very unique and tasty. 4 stars - Fried anchovies: I'm not typically a tiny fish fan, but these weren't fishy at all and crispy breading wasn't too heavy. 4 stars - Ribs: saucy and meaty but could've been more tender. 3.5 stars - Croquettes: good flavor but could've been crispier. 3.5 stars - Wine: had a few bottles of white which were fine. Lowlights: - Pretty small with only a few tables and very crowded long bar up front Enjoyed this meal and would recommend it.

OMG this place is amazing, the atmosphere is average but the flavors are over the top. I'm hooked!!! I tried this place a couple of years ago and my friends and I still talk about going back just for this place!! Define gem. The bill is not bad for Americans lol Like we ordered everything we craved and the total was $60 for 2 people. For locals it's pricy, but for us, we definitely hit the place several times lol Totally recommend!
Be the first to ReplyThey treated us as if we were less than.
There was one young man who worked there who was willing to give us tips and where to sit. We could understand enough Spanish to know he was reprimanded and said ' I got it' or something like that. The others we encountered were not wanting us there although there was space and we were not the only Americans there. We did Not get what we ordered although it was good. again, the assumption that we were less than and stupid. We just ate what we got and did not say a word. I would not recommend this place at all.

This spot is likely slightly out of your way but highly recommend taking the detour to visit. We loved this place so much that we dined both nights for dinner in Sevilla. Our favorites were razer clam, egg dish, cigar squid, and fried sardines. Honey pork ribs was good but the pork felt a little dry. For dessert had nougat ice cream with chocolate and it was from out of this world!! Service is decent, we ate outside because the weather was so beautiful. For both nights we spent less than 50 euros and we had a ton of drinks too :) very affordable for high quality food. oh! When you are in Spain, just say no to bread eitherwise they charge you

Came here based on hotel recommendation and also checked Yelp. Food was amazing. We had little clams (so good), fried squid, beef tataki and honey ribs. Delicious ! We got here early and found seats outside.

This restaurant was recommended to me and I couldn't get a reservation. We found ourselves in the neighborhood and popped in to see if they had any tables available. We sat at the bar (maybe come early, it gets crowded!) and the food was amazing. We ordered several dishes to share. Everything so good, especially the cigar. Friendly staff, nice setting and fantastic food!! Go here

Seated quickly inside, thank you for ac! Drinks came quickly. Order placed and tapas came out in waves. Highly recommend the cigar. So good! Inside was bright and clean

Read reviews on Yelp and were intrigued based on the menu and comments. We arrived when they opened for dinner service and sat at the bar. The staff was very friendly and helpful and ordered off the board. We had so many dishes (we were hungry) and everything from the "honey ribs", cuttle fish wrapped in filo (cigarillos), duck, to the egg with mushroom truffle sauce was not only delicious, but visual like a Michelin star gastropub. The deserts were also crazy good. Amazing food, service and price point. Going back for the lamb shank. A great find in Seville.

We read the Yelp reviews and decided we needed to try it; it did not disappoint. It's a bit off the beaten path (we used the hop on hop off bus and exited at stop 12; and then an easy walk to the restaurant. It didn't stand out as it was the only restaurant on that block. We asked for a table inside and waited a few minutes to be seated. We were on the early side - around 5 pm so it wasn't too busy. We all ordered sangrias which were delicious. The friendly wait staff recommended their popular tapas - the cigarillo and the egg yolk and mushroom. Both were excellent. Our oldest sons thoroughly enjoyed the honey ribs. Based on Yelp reviews, we saved room for dessert and there were so many good choices we each ordered four desserts- the tiramisu, the chocolate cake with orange sorbet, orange pie and pineapple carpaccio and coconut sorbet. They were all good and you cannot go wrong. The most interesting was the carpaccio pineapple but most of us agreed the chocolate cake was our favorite. We had such a lovely and memorable experience there after a long day of traveling and touring. We would definitely recommend and look forward to coming back

I just recently returned (i'm talking on Sunday) from an amazing trip to the Andalusia coast of Spain + Mallorca. This region of Spain has some of the most breathtaking views of the Sierra Nevada Mountains with interspersed villages beautifully located along the winding roads. While visiting this region of Spain, we had so many amazing meals that it honestly is very hard to pick a favorite. Some restaurants had amazing views and ambiance, some had ambiance plus delicious tapas, and some not so much. Fortunately, the bad meals were few and far between and usually because we just stopped in for a quick bite while touring a local monument. I hate how in large tourist areas, it seems like a lot of the terrible restaurants are right beside the tourist spot. Wouldn't it be nice if you could have an amazing meal AND see the local attraction at the same time?! Anywho, this post is about one of the wonderful restaurants that we had the pleasure to dine at while visiting Sevilla! When you first walk into Eslava, expect to see a crowded tapas bar with a great atmosphere. Ask one of the servers to recommend you a class of Vino Tinto to start (Spanish wines are delicous!). When you get you glass of wine, you will also be served some homemade sourdough bread and some fresh aceitunas (olives) that are mixed with fava beans - you MUST try these! They are so yummy!). Aslo, don't forget to request some aceite de oliva (olive oil) with some sea salt. I think Spain could give Italy a run for their money on olive oil - it was literally the best! The olive oil is the best when it is produced on a local Finca (or hacienda or plantation). We bought some to bring home from a local Finca that you can actually stay at in Mallorca, called Cas X'orc (another post for another time).TAPAS TO TRY:TATAKI DE BUEY CON GOMINOLA DE JENGIBRE:Beef tataki with ginger - These thin strips of beef topped with sea salt and drizzled with olive oil will leave your mouth watering for more! We actually ordered two plates of these. As you can tell, it is not a huge portion but the flavor is outstanding. There are dollops of ginger sauce on the plate that enhance the flavors of the beef.CROQUETAS CASERAS DE CERDO Y TERNERA: Pork and beef homemade croquettes (bechamel-filled, breaded and deep-fried) - I must say that I thought that I would absolutely love the croquettes in Spain since it is definitely a staple tapas at most Spanish restaurants. While the croquettes were definitely delicious, they were not my favorite of all the tapas that I sampled. That being said, you still must try them!YEMA SOBRE BIZCOCHO DE BOLETUS Y VINO CARAMELIZADO:Slow-cooked egg served on boletus cake with caramelized wine reduction (1st Prize, Sevilla en Boca de Todos 2010 contest) - This one is very interesting and worth a taste!UN CIGARRO PARA BECQUER (3º PREMIO SEVILLA EN BOCA DE TODOS 2013):A cigar for Becquer. Brick pastry cigar-shaped with cuttlefish and algae) - The texture on this definitely different but the flavor was surprisingly good! COSTILLA DE CERDO CON MIEL DE ROMERO AL HORNO:Roasted pork ribs glazed in rosemary honey - MUST get these!! These are like a Korean BBQ style short rib with incredible flavor!!This is also posted on my website where I do foodie blog posts and travel itineraries. Heard about this place online, and it does not disappoint! We went for the tapas rather than main dishes and each was fantastic. The best croquettes we have had in Seville so far, with both the duck dishes being standout as well. Highly recommend!(Plus, the staff were very patient in letting us practice our Spanish whilst ordering too!)
Be the first to ReplyJust delicious food and a place to come again.
Nice and friendly personal who do their job with pride.
Be the first to ReplyOur Airbnb host recommended we try Eslava as it was around
Our Airbnb host recommended we try Eslava as it was around the corner and he thought highly of the food. We got there for a late lunch and put our name in. The wait was about 20 minutes, but it gave us some time to check out the area and the Christmas market. We were seated outside and ordered tinto de veranos for the table. We asked our server what he recommended and he gave a few options including the foie gras, the cigar, and the honey ribs. We got an order of each and were very impressed with what we ordered. The cigar was absolutely delicious and topped off with a generous side of aioli. The honey ribs were my favorite. The meat fell off the bones and the honey was so good! If you're staying nearby or find yourself in Sevilla - definitely give this one a try!

Thanks to Yelp, we found Eslava our very first night in Seville and Spain, after a very long trip from the US. It was the perfect antidote. We had white anchovies, mussels, lentils with chorizo, en cigarro para becquer, and more. Very COVID-conscious, they had plexi-glass between tables and bar folks.

Omg by far this is the best tapas place I've been to in Spain! Not only is the service, and food amazing! But the prices are soo worth it! We spent less then half here then In Barcelona! We came twice! Once for lunch and then 6 hrs later for dinner! Wow...I'm amazed by the food! It is worth coming here and trying everything! It's affordable and you will not be disappointed!!
Be the first to ReplyABSOLUTELY worth the wait.
From the time I put my name down to the time I was seated was a bit more than an hour, but I grabbed a drink and sat outside, while I waited for my turn. This restaurant serves Michelin quality food at average Joe prices and doesn't skimp on the garnishes. My recommendation would be to arrive either early or late into the dinner service so that you'd have a better chance of getting a table quickly. The must-have: as many reviews have mentioned, the cigar is amazing. I was skeptical at first, but it is so many flavours beautifully blended. I also had an ice cream for dessert, which was an interesting cheese ice cream (not always on the menu I believe). The service: even though it was so busy, the wait staff were very polite, attentive, and courteous throughout the meal. They made amazing recommendations and I would definitely recommend this place to all of my friends!

You can't miss this place! It was so yummy and the prices are ridiculous for the quality and creativity of the food. The food had the acidity balance that I lovedBest stuff:Foie on toast: flavors were so unexpected and delightfulHoney ribs: my parents favorite. Was great

We have been all over Spain and this is by far the best meal we've had. We got every item on the menu and plenty of drinks and the bill was under $50. The foie gras is exceptional.

By far best food we had in Seville! Slow cooked egg yolk and cigar is a must have. We also enjoyed pork ribs and tiramisu. If there is a wait, don't leave. It will be worth your time :)
