Very Disappointed!
Three weeks ago we went for first time since they reopened. I don’t understand why they ask if it a special occasion when they don’t honor anything special. Most restaurants will give you free dessert…. ( Which am sure would not break the bank) But my real reason for a poor review, is the food is not as good as it used to be. I ordered short rib … there was more mashed potatoes than meat and it was Lukewarm. My husband steak was not tender and also lukewarm warm. For what they charge for dinner! It better be top notch!! Not be returning anytime soon.
Wow!
While visiting friends locally we ate at this beautiful restaurant. I would imagine reservations are essential it was really busy on the Saturday evening we dined there. Restaurant is located over two floors, beautiful hardwood floors and crisp white table cloths a feature. Menu was extensive ( to put it mildly). Our party of 7 ordered a great variety from the menu, including crab/ lobster starters, followed by steak, shrimp, chicken and pasta dishes. Each dish was sublime. Portions were very large! Service throughout was really excellent. Best restaurant we visited on our two week trip to US. Somewhat dearer than other restaurants visited but quality was exceptional
Excellence
Not one bad thing. Food excellent cooked to order. Portions and price on point. The smoking hot couple was top notch with an additional order of angry oysters all delicious with outstanding service. Best meal in a long time and blew Ruth Crisp out of the water. I hour drive well worth it.
Highly recommended
Family ate here for the first time. Very impressed. Service was professional and courteous. Our drink glasses were never empty, as they kept getting filled. The food was delicious and served just the way we ordered it. The atmosphere was nice. We will eat here again in the near future. Highly recommended.
One of our top choices
This was our first visit and it's a new favorite in Charlotte. Everything about the experience was top shelf. Our server James had great recommendations and everything was outstanding. General Manager Matt was very attentive. I noticed a few negative reviews and I really don't understand them. I don't give highest marks very often but this is definitely one that gets them
Lost a little sizzle
Went back to Epic with my girlfriend in December and it was good, but nothing special…the sides were a lot better than the Steaks. Hopefully I just hit the place on an off night. We ordered the Wellington and the ribeye. The ribeye was mediocre but the Wellington was fantastic.

BEYOND OUR EXPECTATIONS!! My hubby and I are visiting Mooresville for the first time and Epic Chophouse came HIGHLY recommended by several friends who have been there before. We had the most amazing experience from start to finish! Perfect table for two, tucked in a corner offering privacy, the BEST waiter Hoff, who was knowledgeable, friendly, kind and personable, along with the most amazing food! Hoff offered his opinion on the 2 menu choices I was debating over and I am SO happy I went with his recommendation!! Every morsel was so delicious and cooked to perfection!! And the portion sizes are HUGE!! My husband and I were so impressed with every detail given to our dining experience! We will definitely return and I hope anyone reading this review will go there!!! Be sure to ask for Hoff!! You won’t be disappointed. Thank you Epic Chophouse, it was truly EPIC!!
A truly superb dining experience.
I was down from Boston visiting family and wasn't sure what to expect. At first looking over the menu, the pricing seemed a bit "ambitious" for what I anticipated too be far exurban Charlotte. But high end decor, including a series of very interesting themed paintings along with the very professional and attentive staff started to alert me that the Epic Chophouse was something special. By its name, steaks are its specialty and they were great. But even better, their seafood and pasta dishes were even better. I had the special halibut wrapped in prosciutto on top or rice and vegetables and sauce which was superb. A nephew had lobster with linguine when looked great and the simple side of Mac and cheese was very well done. For folks on more of a budget there was an ample sprinkling of more modestly priced entrees that looked just as good. We had volcano cake and cheesecake for desert that was great. Definelty worth a dinner if you are visiting, or for a special night if you are a local.
Charming
As soon as you enter the restaurant, you are greeted by a very friendly receptionist. The room is absolutely gorgeous with beautiful paintings on the wall in the restaurant. The bar is also a very pretty room. We can’t say enough about our food, service and the ambience in the restaurant. Thank you, Jaylin. You did a great job. If we lived here, this restaurant would be top on our list. Love the old time charm.
Horrible, will never return ever.
The quality of the food has fallen off badly. Night and day since before their fire. The owner/manager is very mean and makes his wait staff suffer the consequences of the bad choices they have made in food quality.
