Employees Only New York Reviews from The Last Year
Cool spot that I had been wanting to try for a while.
So, one Friday evening after an early dinner in the area we wandered over. Thinking there may not be a wait since there was heavy rainfall just a bit earlier. Yet, there was a line. Luckily, we could stand under some cover for a bit. After almost a 30 min wait around 9pm we got in. The space gives a speakeasy vibe with the dim lights and intimate tables near the front by the bar. However, as you venture further in there is a step up and tables for proper dinner seating. They have Lempicka inspired art on the walls adding to the allure of the speakeasy jazz type vibe. The drinks were good. We got the Fraise Sauvage ($19) and Ready Fire Aim ($19). It was a bit cramped with how many people were inside. Many obnoxiously seated at the bar and not considerate of making space for those wanting to order. You will get a mixed crowd of casually dressed to pretentious young gals scantily clad. There were some trying to smooth talk the bouncer for entry as we left. Though he didn't fall for it. lol I'd suggest going a little earlier on a weeknight if you don't want to feel so cramped and have a chill experience there enjoying your drink and the art.

Great iconic bar in Manhattan (west village)! It has been rated one of the world's top 50 bars and the cocktails do not disappoint. If you want to impress a date, friends or someone visiting I recommend taking them here since they have great drinks, a good ambiance, and it also gives you that nyc speakeasy experience. If you want to eat make sure to make a reservation for a table in advance as well. It does get pretty busy at the bar but you can walk in and grab drinks at the bar if you don't grab a table and aren't planning on eating. My favorite is the ready, fire, aim drink which is Mezcal based :)
Not For Me
Employees Only was suggested by a local when I was visiting NYC with some colleagues for a conference. Apparently it’s one of the hottest bars in the city right now so we checked it out on a Monday night. Despite it being a weekday, this place was packed! We could barely wedge ourselves in the front door and up the bar. It felt like those sweaty, dark, college basement parties where there are so many people that you cannot even move. The music was blaring, to the point you had to practically scream your drink order at the beefy bartenders just so they could grunt back at you. In terms of drinks, it’s a typical cocktail bar. Being that this is NYC, the drinks were even more pricey for what they actually are: average liquor with some kind of fancy accouterments. The Amelia was Haku vodka and St. Germain elderflower liqueur, shaken with puréed blackberries and lemon juice. Not worth $19, in my opinion. If this bar is all the rage in NYC right now, I’m not sure I’ll be going out in the city again anytime soon.

Cramped and pricey if you order a martini ($25) not on the menu. There was little standing room but the music wasn't bad! I got the fraise sauvage which wasn't too sweet which I enjoyed! Bar staff were friendly though!

My granddaughter and I stopped by wax hands at Ripleyes believe it or not, and was serviced by Yailin, who was excellent. Made replica of her hand as a peace sign. Loved it.
Guy at front door is a completely unprofessional.
He seems to be drunk with power like he thinks he matters outside of his stand .

I'm glad I got to try this place cause I always saw a long line each time I've walked by. But if you go on a wednesday night, it's not too bad. It gives speakeasy vibes due to its nondescript entrance. The drinks are good but on the pricey side. And it's not the best place for large groups, it's a tight squeeze at bar area so hard to walk by and there's only one bathroom. So my friends and I (party of 8) only stayed for one drink.

Really enjoyed this place! Came at around 7 on a Thursday and we were allowed to stand at the bar and order drinks while we waited for seats to open up. Our favorites and I mean we were very impressed by these drinks were the Ready Fire Aim and Billionaire Cocktail. Service was quick and pretty much handed you a menu when you walked in so you didn't have to flag down a bartender.
Excelente service
There were 2 niece a friendly employees at the breakfast their name were Bruce and Miriam taken care from providing service keeping place on point to make us feel like at home
love this place.
best environment ever. great drinks too. Friendly staff. Open super late. gives out soup every night to thwart hangovers. what's not to like

I tried it today for the first time and now it is one of my favorite bars in New York. Their cocktails are amazing! My absolute favorite is Amelia - vodka based, with blackberry puree, not too sweet, very well balanced. My second choice is Melody - gin based cocktail served over large ice cube, very botanical, but again, not too sweet, which I loved. For someone who prefers sweeter drinks - Fraise Sauvage should be a great choice. And for the mezcal lovers - I would recommend Ready Fire Aim. I loved the ambiance of that bar as well as their cocktails - very cute bar, I am sure it gets filled very fast during the weekend. I highly recommend that place to people who are looking for a good quality bar with a marvelous selection of cocktails.
Great team great energy and top bar in NYC.
The food and drinks are so good. On the weekend the party are crazy on a good way.
Over rated and overcrowded with arrogant staff
Definitely overrated. Cocktails were average. In fact the Manhattan was terrible, tasted like syrup. The service was pathetic. Arrogant staff. The decor was ok but the place was overcrowded and overpriced. A lot of bumping and shoving. My drink was knocked over by another guest.
EO is always a good time! Sundays are a must.
The lamb-chops wrapped in bacon and the truffle fries are my favorite food items. I haven't had a drink here that I did not like. Shout out to Tie for taking great care of us!
Aside from the Hostess that night, the service and
Aside from the Hostess that night, the service and ambiance, and not to mention the food! Are all Top Notch at Employees only. There was a small line on a chilly NYC night but after waiting about 15 minutes or so me and my gf were able to get inside. The Bouncer at the door was a tall friendly gentleman named Sean who made our experience that much more pleasant. We were both very hungry and were dying to try some of the menu items. However when we arrived the hostess told us there were no tables available for seating although more than half the tables were empty and unoccupied. She also said there is no waiting list so we would flat out would have to wait "over an hr" to get seated. We were leaving the bar discouraged, and told Sean the bouncer the situation and he said he could "make something happen for us" which meant him going inside to speak to somebody. Needless to say, that Hostess did not know what she was talking about and was very incompetent. She even tried to hurry us out of the table at the end of the meal. Thanks to Sean we were seated in the very first two seater and started ordering food and drinks right away. -For Appetizer: we got the hand cut Steak Tartare which was served table side as the waitress has to mix the steak and egg together with the capers etc. it was served with salad and crunchy bread crostini . -Entree: We both shared the Beet salad and the rainbow Trout with capers which comes with a nice little fresh citrusy salad! Honestly if you're here and don't want to spend that $88 porterhouse steak get the Rainbow trout! So light and fresh and equally as filling. Both dishes were super refreshing and the Amelia paired so well with the citrus notes of the fish and salad. The side salad was a divine pair that came with crunchy sweet apples and the capers with the fish were all So good!. I would definitely come back here for those dishes alone! -The music choices were decent, however wish there was more space for dancing. The whole bar area is so crowded. Also keep in mind the drinks are all almost $20 depending on what you get. Definitely not an affordable spot. Final thoughts, I would give this place 5 stars if it wasn't for that rude Hostess. I'll have to return so they can have another shot at getting 5 stars hopefully that hostess will not be present.
The staff always makes me feel at home.
2 of the bartenders remembered my name and favorite drank. I'm always able to get a table.
Was able to get a table on resy an hour before on a Sunday
Was able to get a table on resy an hour before on a Sunday night. The back area for reservations are for dining and are literally side by side. Would have preferred to sit by the bar, but it was fully occupied by walkins. The space was very nice elegantly decorated , nice fireplace for the warm weather and incense, which were a nice touch. The drinks were good. The food was better. Surprised by the chicken schnitzel. Really good with a salad on top and mashed potatoes on the side.
Is this an industry bar for only fans service workers?
Is this an industry bar for only fans service workers? Uninteresting over sugary drinks. Only cliental are influencers that are rude to bartender. bland service. This was the most underwhelming experience I've had in this city . Go literally anywhere else for better cocktails
Stumbled upon this awesome spot as we casually parked right
Stumbled upon this awesome spot as we casually parked right in front of it with a line out the door on a Thursday night. We just wanted some pizza from around the corner and this place caught our eye. Reese was so inviting and hospitable. We told him we'd be back after dinner for some drinks and so we did! He kindly got us in and we were transported to another world. This is exactly what I love about NYC, you just don't know until you know. This place isn't for the cocktail snobs. You're going to order a cocktail, pay NYC prices for it, you're going to shut up, sip it and enjoy the experience. I ordered besos calientes but with mezcal and it of course hit different. The energetic mixologists are the stars of the show. They're excited, they set the tone and they make your experience for sure be an enjoyable one. The small room is pretty packed, but it's fun just to swing by for a drink. The dark and cozy atmosphere with the elegant quirk is a place that doesn't really make you want to leave. It's technically a speakeasy but everyone knows about it? Either way, great spot for drinks and a good time.
Excellent place for vibing with the music.
The music is always on point , people can easily having drinks and have fun standing next to the bar. However, since I am looking into a drinking bar, the quality of cocktails are not outstanding. I have been here twice, and ordered classic cocktails, there are either under diluted or plain. And also, it's quite hard to get a drink from the bar since the bar is always crowded. There I times I was holding my empty glass waiting for 15 minutes trying to get to the bar and ask for another round.
Went here recently and had never had an experience like
Went here recently and had never had an experience like this at a restaurant. I got there and was told I had to check my coat due to tight seating for no cost so I did. When the person I was meeting got there who made the reservation, the head guy got into an argument with them saying in the text reminder it says reservations are only for dinner and we were there for just drinks. The head guy was extremely rude. We kept being told there is a time limit for the table about five times. The first waitress was extremely rude and eventually they gave us someone else who was more respectful. At the end when I went to get my coat the woman doing coat check said "I'll take the ticket. Tips are appreciated." I was shocked as this is totally inappropriate. I took my coat and she continued to repeat "tips are appreciated". I have never experienced this kind of service overall from such snooty staff. Do not recommend this place

Don't go here if you are over thirty! My husband and I were shocked by how loud and underdressed and young the crowd was.....we are from Philly and go out to eat and travel a lot and were surprised to see a restaurant like this with only one age group. We have had better cocktails and food elsewhere and the waitress was very neglectful. Was a loud and uninteresting environment.
This place stinks
Don't go here,,theses people will steal your food, and if you bring it back they wwwiiillll spit on your food.they do not care about their customers,,,its the money
Fun, young vibe! Drinks were fantastic.
We only had to wait about 10 min to get in. It was packed inside.
Very BAD EXPERIENCE
Very bad experience, i was there this evening with 2 friends and the latin bar manager tried to get the girls attention, not getting the girls attention without success he decided not to give us drinks after just one beer, this bar is as ridiculous as the bar manager and deserves to decay as soon as possible. I'm a restaurateur who has 3 restaurants in Manhattan and I can tell you that this is not the way to work. I wish you the worst.
Fabulous. Worth it. One drink and no attitude is all it takes.
Great drinkage. Don't have an attitude and be a good steward. Tip well. What goes around comes around. The vibe is NYC casual chic and ladies with an attitude can see the door. Love this place.
Horrible rude bouncer for females
There was nobody at the door (October 12th around midnight) and when we walked in, the bouncer with a big hat yelled horribly at my three female young coworkers and kicked them out. Terrible experience

Great Service - amazing dinner!!
Read about the site in NYT and bought a reservation at Mother Wolf in LA 2 days later. Worked great and the food was amazing!!!
Worked perfectly!
Got the reservation (that I couldn't get anywhere else) and was able to entertain a group of friends at the infamous Bern's Steakhouse.
Got into Nobu Malibu
Wonderful! My parents are visiting and we have wanted to go to Nobu Malibu for years. I tried getting a reservation myself but it was next to impossible. So glad I was able to buy a reservation on appointment trader for a decent price!
Very easy
Was very hesitant going into this experience but am glad to say that it worked out very well ! will definitely use appointment trader in the future
Fabulous Lunch
I was veeeeeerry skeptical that this would work, particularly at a restaurant as hard to get into as Nobu Malibu, and it was perfect! We had lunch outside on the patio and it was fabulous!
Great reviewer team
Just wanted to take a second to shout out the reviewer team. Even though they probably review hundreds of listings and bids a day, they still take the time to leave great comments and respond relatively quickly. Thanks!
Incredible
I got a reservation to Don Angie, which I've been trying to book for weeks! I am very happy with this service.
Best platform out there!
Super simple, easy, and fast to secure reservations for hard-to-get restaurants and locations!
This app is life changing
This app has opened my world up to so many wonderful new experiences I would never have the chance to have without access to this awesome app! 10/10!
Worked perfectly
Was a little nervous at first but was pleased to see that the booking went through flawlessly.
Highly recommended.
Success on Short Notice
Was able to snag an indoor table at Don Angie through an absolutely seamless worry-free process.
Worked perfectly, thank you!
This is a crazy holiday season in NYC and I was very pleasantly surprised to see that AppointmentTrader works! Will be using again!
Worked flawlessly!
Worked so well! I was a bit nervous, but everything went very smoothly. purchased the reservation, and got into the restaurant seamlessly.
Love this app!
So glad I came across this app :)
Quick table in Miami
I didn’t have my hopes high as it was a party of 4. In 24 hours I had a carbone reservation available! I was very happy as my family really wanted to come here
Prime time, great meal
So easy and had a prime time which I can never seem to get on normal res apps. So worth it
Got impossible NYC res
instead of waiting weeks I got my 4 charles reservation instantly
Worked perfectly to get into Carbone. So delighted
perfect
Worked well, got me into a restaurant with no availability
I was skeptical, and I still don't really know how they managed to find this hard-to-find reservation, but it was a win-win from my point of view, and I'll use this service again.
Last minute reservation for Delilah Las Vegas
Got a last minute reservation, dinner for 2 at Delilah Las Vegas: super impressed! The process was simple, transaction seamless. We had an amazing time! Couldn’t be happier! 😍
It works!
Ok at this point I've attended a reservation purchased on AT by a friend and sold a reservation personally. Both worked pretty smoothly, nothing sketchy about it. A few areas for improvement including a way to more directly communicate between buyers and sellers, but the app always seems to be in development. AT customer support is really(!) responsive and helpful too if you have questions!
Money transfer
As a seller, I like the fact i have the ability now to transfer money out of my AT account and into a bank account. Makes getting the money much easier then the process before.
Love this app
Got to go to places otherwise unreachable
Easy Access
Very easy to get into one of the hardest restaurants to reserve in New York.
Whose name will my reservation be under when I arrive at the venue?
It can be under your name or a name you choose! Some reservation offers already include the AppointmentTrader Transfer Service which will transfer the reservation in to your name. If its not included you can add it on after buying the reservation for a small fee. One thing on that though: As many reservations become available at last minute, taking a reservation in someone else name is quick and great for privacy. Most reservations on AT are listed with a virtual phone number, so all you need to do is present the phone number at the hostess stand and you are good to go!
Payouts Blocked Because of Sell Through Rate
Does anyone know how AT plans to handle cases where a seller is quitting the platform but has a sell through rate <25%? The error message I got said to fill more bids or find other ways to increase the rate.
Is AT really going to block sellers from withdrawing their money? Especially revenue made before the sell through rate was introduced??
Tune into NBC News - Top Story Tonight 7:40p ET
Let’s go. Get more people placing bids!
I will give you 50% of ALL of my PROFITS if you teach me how to make profits?
LOL. Thank you The New Yorker.
Appointment
Transferring reservations is not supported in AT. Why not just use the name in the AT screenshot?
Buyers interested in Bern's Steakhouse: PLEASE READ
Same goes for 4 Charles and I Sodi
Prepaid Reservation Fee
Agreed. Ultimately not addressing this month after month is clearly resulting in a drop in certain venue’s rankings & sales.
Congrats on 3 mil
🍾🍾🍾🍾🍾🍾🧨🧨🧨 now on to 30 mill!
Need to cancel a bid, not getting a response… how do I do it?
Click on "Take off the Market Option" in your portfolio
Working on your bid?
Your bid has been “matched” with a reservation. From the time a reservation has been located, the seller of the reservation must connect with moderator to give transfer information for reservation. If the seller;however, does NOT respond to reservation transfer, then your bid is reprocessed and returns to the first step, which is connecting your request to a reservation.
Process after bid is accepted.
Hey @EvocativeFold67, welcome to appointmenttrader! Once the reservation is in your portfolio, you definitely own the timeslot, the review team would not have approved the trade if the reservation wasn't confirmed - so you are going :-) Judging from your post you bid today and are going tomorrow - don't worry as long as you initiated the name transfer, you are good - the transfer service has to work with the opening hours of the reservation team of the respective venue. You will likely see the transfer confirmation a couple hours before your reservation time.
Where do the Reservations on AppointmentTrader come from?
Mostly from people who don't need their reservations or appointments any longer. AT has no relationship with places listed and acts as a platform connecting buyers and sellers making sure that listed reservations are real and that privacy is not compromised when transacting.
What happens if my bid expires unanswered?
Hey @FluffyStar64, thanks for the question! When you place your bid the amount gets transferred in a deposit account, the second you either cancel your bid or a few minutes after the bid expires the funds are moved back into your main account from where you can refund it to your payment method or use for other transactions.
