decided to swing by eminent frog porridge for supper.
the kung pao frog in claypot was very good paired with silky porridge. but my favorite is frog in herb chicken essense soup. super delicious. . my friends felt that it isnt enough so we also ordered oysters omelette and salted egg prawns. not very good. service is super efficient and ambiance's loud and boisterous especially late at night.

Came here based on Michelin recommendation and this was the worst experience of my visit to Singapore. The service was extremely slow (took an hour to get our food) even though it wasn't that busy and others that had arrived half an hour later received their orders before us. We gad only ordered the frog and porridge, which shouldn't take an hour. Service is non-existent here and the staff were downright rude. Once the food came, it was mediocre at best. Shame on you Michelin, don't believe the hype. There are much better places to eat at in Singapore.

I went there at night and sat outside, riding the frog leg porridge. I was pleasantly surprised, the porridge and frog leg with sauce was a great combination, and the frog was very tender and succulent. The down side were the many little bones that you have to pick through. Good size portions with a very reasonable and relatively inexpensive price tag.

The service quality and service attitude are very intolerable, also the environment and cleanliness are very bad.

Came here for some late eats since I slept through dinner earlier. Of course, had to go with the namesake item, just couldn't have it with porridge since it wasn't cheat day yet. Think the pricing is slightly cheaper than Lor 9. It's buy 2 get 1 free, but I feel that the size they use is smaller here compared to Lor 9. So I think value is pretty much the same at the end of the day. I think the sauce here is slightly sweeter than Lor 9. ย It could also be slightly skewed because I wasn't toning it down with porridge that night. I do like it overall, mainly because the pot came loaded with raw scallion. Mixed it into the sauce to cook on its own and it imparted a nice strong essence on the frog that made quite a noticeable difference. ย Wonder if they can just do it dry with some garlic/ginger/scallion without the dark sugar/soy base... Think that would make a good flavorful bite without needing the porridge. May try asking for that next time...

Delicious Gong Bao frog legs, bought alongside a huge portion of plain congee ($11). Expensive for hawker fare, but delicious sauce and fresh tender frog. Would go again. Fast, no frills service (630pm on Friday.)

The frog is fresh but remember to bring enough cash since they do not accept any other payment method. Stupid waitress with baaaad temper. Wait by your side forever for money! The stir fried shrimp tastes really bad.

FOOD:The frog is very fresh and perfectly prepared to be fall-off-the-bone tender. The savory green onion sauce is nicely balanced when combined with the rice porridge.LOCATION:The restaurant is right across the street from the (in)famous Geyland red light district, so although this is probably as seedy as Singapore gets, it still feels quite safe. And the people watching is fascinating: on the restaurant side of the street, it's restaurants with mixed clientele of couples, groups of friends, etc.; whereas across the street, it's almost completely men and working girls, who stand around on the street but don't solicit (which is illegal), who seem to communicate in some unspoken way and then disappear off to the hourly motels down the side streets. SERVICE:We had already had dinner, so we just wanted to try one frog porridge between us. Nevertheless, the waitress tried pretty hard to upsell us on their Buy-Two-Get-One-Free deal. Otherwise, the service was fast and efficient; neither especially friendly nor unfriendly. It looked / felt cleaner than the street food generally is in the region (Malaysia, India, Cambodia, Vietnam, Thailand, or Indonesia).

Local alley food, interesting and must try for the full Singapore experience. The black thick 3 cup sauce was yummy with especially with the sesame oil porridge. The food is good but the service and cleanliness is questionable. We ordered water and coke and it was a battle to try to get drinks. May not come again unless bring friends along.
