Eleven Pittsburgh Reviews from The Last Year
Another anniversary dinner at 11 and another complete home
Another anniversary dinner at 11 and another complete home run by the entire staff. I walked in to sit at the bar until my wife arrived, and our table was ready. I explained to the bartender what I was craving, and she brought me back, hitchhikers bane of existence, which was 100% on the spot and is now one of my favorite peers. Once we were seated, the breads were brought to our table, which are always great, oysters, and sea scallops for starters were amazing, the entrées (swordfish with shrimp risotto, and salmon with summer beans, which were more like orzo) also amazing. We had to top it off with a split dessert, which was the lemon upside down cake and it was unbelievably good. One of the best ways of gauging the quality of a restaurant is the care they put into everything on the plate not just the main feature on it and 11 totally brings it every time, and I always know that everything on my plate is going to be unbelievable. Tying everything together was a fantastic waitress and staff that are attentive enough without making you feel rushed away from your table like a lot of the other top restaurants do. I know I've reviewed 11 before, but glad to see that they have been extremely consistent for this long and I feel that props should be given where they are due. This is a great spot for anyone living in and from Pittsburgh or anyone coming in to visit the city.

We went to Eleven to celebrate a very special woman in my life. The decor of the restaurant is eye catching. All of the staff were friendly and knowledgeable as they provided us with a memorable experience. All of the food was amazing as the flavor profile of each item connected to various taste buds simultaneously.
Outstanding service and delicious food
This place is simply outstanding, and the best in Pittsburgh. We were there last weekend for anniversary dinner, and were blown away by the service and the food. The dishes were creative, imaginative and absolutely delicious. Service was attentive without being overbearing. Can't say enough good things about this restaurant.

Consistently excellent food, with a large and creative American cuisine menu. Excellent service, mix of casual to formal clientele, a great representation of the consistently strong offerings of the Big Burrito restaurant group. You will not be disappointed.
Hot food served on hot plates.
Sign of quality food is an open kitchen for transparency! Waitress Britany served us with a constant smile and guided us thru the menu while giving us great tourist tips! Will def come back!
I recently went to Eleven for brunch on a Sunday.
This was my first time here and it did not disappoint. First, the space itself was so cute. I ordered the brunch pre-fix which comes with an appetizer, entree, and choice of juice or cocktail. I started off with a Bloody Mary for my drink. I then ordered the sticky bun for my appetizer. They also brought out a selection of bread and pastries for the table. For my entree, I chose the eggs Benedict. Everything I ate was amazing. The service was also wonderful. This was my first time at Eleven, but definitely won't be my last.

Had an unfortunate dining experience at typically lovely Eleven restaurant where we often visit when we'd like a "nicer" dinner. On this early evening it was an almost a completely empty restaurant. Our Server was hyper attentive, to the extreme of trying to remove plates before we were finished eating them. The attempted plate snatches happened them more than one time, and by more than one server, leaving us feeling like they were rushing us just fifteen minutes of our being there! But the more disappointing part of the dinner was the unfortunate amount of salt on my fish which totally drowned all flavor of my dish. I gently let the server know early into our meal, and later let the manager know when we were leaving. Both seemed quite unmoved, the server said the food is somewhat salty there, and the manager seemed to place the blame on me for not letting the chef know even after I let the server know. Ay, yi yi--guess this was a me problem. Hope they are a little lighter on the salt with your meal. We may try somewhere else.

We have come here for a variety of special occasions, including dinner and brunch menus, and have never had a bad time. Brunch was definitely more vegetarian friendly than dinner menu wise but both were great for gluten free options. The service is good and we always have a great time.

If I could give a 10 stars for the excellent service here, then I would! Our waiter was top notch and professional. The best! The food that we ordered were so delicious. Nice ambient. My family had a great experience dining at Eleven & definitely will come back again when the next time we visit Pittsburgh.
We went to Eleven for the Mother's Day brunch.
Parking was easy due to the parking lot right across the street, and when we entered the restaurant, we were blown away by how spacious it is. Each area is decorated well too. For food, we were given a prefixed menu. I selected the beet salad, which had golden beets (slightly milder than regular beets) and an incredible goat cheese pairing. I also selected the Scottish salmon, which was cooked to perfection. The Calabrian chilis with it added a nice spice. The only disappointing item was the fresh squeezed orange juice, which tasted like it was squeezed with unripe oranges. However, that barely detracted from the overall fantastic experience. I'm excited to return and try some of their other items.

Everything is amazing at Eleven! Jake the bartender was fabulous friendly knowledgeable and so on point with his expertise! Love the ambiance. Loved the calamari, the ricotta cavatelli and who doesn't love a well made martini! My new favorite spot in the strip! Valet parking!
Wonderful experience.
What a wonderful experience! We sat at a table on the second floor overlooking the bar area -- behind a curtain. We felt as if we were in a box seat at a theater. The food was excellent, as was the service.
Best beet salad in Pgh.
Enjoyed the crispy crab cake sandwich and fries. Our server was attentive.
Went last weekend for a graduation celebration from Pitt.
Sat in the bar and ordered appetizers and drinks before going to the table for dinner. We ordered calamari and cheese curds. The calamari was fried beyond recognition and the cheese curds were more like mozzarella balls. Would not order those two items again. The steaks we ordered were perfect. The waitstaff, although very nice, disappeared after serving our food. Would have liked another glass of wine but never heard from her until we were finished with our food. We had informed the host that we were celebrating and they let us know a dessert would be brought out. Never saw it or did the waitstaff mention it. Not sure for the price we will be back
Everything here was exceptional.
We had a lot of food I didn't even take pictures of. The dinner came with a variety of complimentary bread, which was great as well. The menu is changed seasonal, guaranteeing you the highest quality ingredients. We had for apps: calamari, scallops, crab cakes, oysters dinner: I had the strip steak which was cooked to perfection and tasted great! Others at the table had the filet which was really good too. We were overwhelmed with how great everything was and over the top. You really can't go wrong here with anything you order. The ambience is fun here and chic. We sat upstairs so it was very private and quiet, which was needed for our purposes of dining. They offer valet parking or self parking across the street. Our waitress did a great job as well. She told us how she was previously in the pastry department.
I had a Big Burrito gift card burning a hole in my wallet
I had a Big Burrito gift card burning a hole in my wallet for a few years now ... so on a recent visit to Pittsburgh, I decided to finally cash it in at Eleven (one of the only restaurants in their group that I had not yet been to). I easily made reservations for me, my husband, and my siblings. Located in the Strip District, it's easy to get to from the city or the burbs, and we were grateful to find easy street parking close to Eleven. When we arrived, I was shocked at how large the space was! I had no clue there were multiple floors and private rooms - you can certainly pack a lot of people in. We were seated on the top floor, which was a bit more secluded and nice. The ambience is dark and moody, but it also felt very classy and had some speakeasy vibes to it. Definitely very on-theme decor and furniture! The menu at Eleven is compact, which I always appreciate as it helps me make decisions easier. The menus are rotated based on seasonal items, and I love that they use locally sourced products for nearly all their main ingredients. For cocktails, my sister and I both got the Pears Well, which we enjoyed - loved the purple color and the touch of peppercorn accompanying the fruit. My husband and brother both went for the Manhattan, which they both enjoyed as well. For meals, I opted for the pork chop (very unlike me!) - featuring figs and a squash puree, it felt right for the time of year (winter) and it hit the spot. I loved the inclusion of the figs to give a touch of sweetness, and the pork was nicely cooked - I don't often get pork out, so I was very pleasantly surprised at the preparation! My dining partners all similarly enjoyed their meals! Overall, we had a great time at Eleven. It's definitely on the "finer" end of the Big Burrito group, and a solid option for a quality meal in Pittsburgh. Of course, the prices reflect the quality and the locally sourced ingredients, which is my only "complaint" - although I would much rather pay for a meal like this. I'm glad I finally got the chance to try Eleven - definitely would return on future visits!

Ate at Eleven two days in a row for a work event so I was able to try two different entrees. The event for work included an appetizer sampler, first course which was the arugula salad, entree, and desert trio. The entrees were good but a bit bland. I enjoyed the chicken and pierogi. The staff were very polite and helpful both nights. My rating is for the bland food, dark lighting, and the floors had a sticky feeling.

We just recently went there for my birthday and not only was the food delicious but the service was incredible. The entire staff went above and beyond in their service. The restaurant is very quiet and clean. We had a great time and cannot wait to go back.
Disappointing Anniversary Dinner at ELEVEN
My partner and I chose ELEVEN for our anniversary dinner, expecting a night of delightful dining. Unfortunately, our experience was far from it, leading me to leave this 1-star review. From the onset, the ambiance was uncomfortably dark, making it difficult to even see our surroundings. The first major issue arose with the service; despite clearly stating my walnut allergy in the reservation, we were served walnut bread. The server’s response to this serious oversight was nonchalant, with no genuine apology. The service throughout the evening was intrusive and disorganized. Our server, although described as tenured, was overly hyper and made us feel uncomfortable, particularly with her insistence on rearranging our table and prematurely clearing dishes. The pinnacle of our disappointing experience was the food quality. Our pork entrée was undercooked to the point of being nearly raw, and when raised with our server, it was met with indifference. What makes this experience more disheartening is the lack of acknowledgment of our special occasion, despite mentioning it during reservation. This lack of attention to detail and customer care was surprising and unacceptable. I reached out to the management, hoping for a resolution. However, their response was unsatisfactory, offering only an apology without any tangible action or compensation for the ruined special evening. This dismissive attitude towards a genuine concern about food safety, service quality, and overall experience is alarming. As a result, I feel compelled to warn potential patrons. If you’re seeking a place for a special occasion or just a pleasant dining experience in Pittsburgh, I’d recommend looking elsewhere. ELEVEN, in my experience, has shown a disregard for customer satisfaction and safety, and their handling of feedback does not inspire confidence in their service.
Great crab cakes!
Great cocktails and appetizers. The crab cakes were fabulous. The assorted breads were homemade and delicious!
A nice dinner was had!!
I was in town for work, which just happened to be on my birthday, so I stopped in for a special dinner at Eleven. I learned about this place from social media, it was referred to me by someone I trust, who knows the food scene in the Allegheny/PGH area. I got here around 8PM and it was packed, but I was able to find a single seat at the bar. I tend to enjoy dining at the bar when alone, as the bartenders usually chat and do a great job with keeping up with dinner and drink service and this was no exception… There were three bartenders and each were interchangeable, meaning they each gave great service, like they were the primary server. I love when restaurants offer team service like this! I had a glass of wine while deciding what to order, which was nice and their menu had plenty of nice options, which made it hard to decide what to order. I ultimately opted for their Hanger Steak & Fries and the steak’s temp was prepared perfectly! Only issue was it had slightly too much finishing salt on it. The fries were outstanding! Their table bread is also excellent! I opted for their dessert called Banoffee Crème Brûlée, which is described as a mix of everything from crème brûlée to banana cream pie… it was amazing and definitely shareable, even tho it appears small. I’ll definitely return and highly recommend stopping in, but make reservations, they are quite popular!

Prepaid Reservation Fee

When you sell a reservation that has a prepaid fee AT takes a commission on that fee. This doesn’t really make sense because it’s an expense the seller incurs not part of the profit that is shared.
For example:
Carbone NYC fee to book table for 2 is $108.88
If you sell it for $200 on AT you get $140 from them.
Your net profit is $31 and AT collects $60 in fees.
It would make more sense not to charge commission on the upfront fee as this creates a disincentive and results in higher costs for buyers.

Agreed. Ultimately not addressing this month after month is clearly resulting in a drop in certain venue’s rankings & sales.
