El Tovar Dining Room Grand Canyon Bewertungen
my three visits to the dinning room at El Tovar
Food was expensive in comparison to other restaurants. Salads were a lot but watch out the salty taste of Ceasar salads. Very few choices of fish and do not order the lobster roll for it was cold and mixed with mayonnaise and can not taste the lobs
Nice atmosphere, food not so much
8 in our group all had $60 steaks. Temperature cooked was off for most, one got a diff steak than ordered. However, it was obvious the steaks were cheap cuts. $60 steak should be top notch, theirs were not
Setting wonderful, the server was excellent, food not so great!
The Lodge and the server met expectations for such an historic place. The New York Strip might as well been named the New Jersey Strip. One was over cooked and the both were tuff. The Chief must be a vegan, because he didn’t seem to concerned about
Good food but pricey
Nice views of the Grand Canyon from our table. Wait staff was attentive and pleasant. Food was ok. We had an over cooked elk dish and fillet moon which was good but not amazing. French onion soup was also good but nothing special. For the high pric
Amazing historic place with good food.
Amazing historic dining room right near the Grand Canyon. Our server, Corey, was great. The food was just one click from being really great : the French Onion soup was delicious but the cheese on top was a bit too burned, the chili has a delicious ta

Excellent Food, and service was perfect. Staff was so friendly and professional! Blood Mary was the best I have ever had!
Tasty Lunch with Great Service and That View
Enjoyed a delicious lunch at window table with amazing view of the Canyon. Our server, Caius, was friendly and attentive! We enjoyed French Onion Soup, Quiche of the Day with a side of Butternut Soup, Croque Monsiuer with side of Fries and Chocola
Beautiful historic dining room inside the El Tovar hotel.
You can see amazing craftsmanship while dining in this great room with amazing views of the Grand Canyon. Reservations recommended although we were able to get a table without one but it was a weekday. The southwestern shrimp cocktail was very good.
Exceptional dining experience!
My husband and I had 2 meals at the El Tovar, breakfast and dinner. Both were wonderful dining experiences! Everything from the attentive service, the food and drinks, the ambiance and of course, the view. Everything was top notch. If you’re visiti
Ambiance was great.
With Grand Canyon right outside, how could it not be? Service great. Food was subpar. I got the pasta pesto dish. Very processed with no flavor. Pretty sure it was dumped out of a box and heated poorly and tossed onto a plate.

First, I had requested a canyon view table in the dining room at 530 for our 82 yo father. Guess notes on reservations aren't considered since they put us 3 rows back. 30 feet away from the window could be considered a table with a view?! We
Love everything about this place! Good food, elegant
Love everything about this place! Good food, elegant decor and top-notch service. I will keep going there forever!
Good American food and great service
This place has very rustic and original detail, decorations. You feel like you belong at the Grand Canyon in this restaurant. The servers were very professional, kind and attentive. The place settings had real cloth, napkins sets, and coffee sets. We
Dirty, poor service, disgusting food
Restaurant and utensils were dirty. The odor was foul. Servers had no manners or training. The food seemed it was all frozen with no flavor. Kind of like hospital food. Restaurant is advertised as classy attire- definitely not the case.
“What we have here is failure to communicate”
The first impression of any restaurant is their host/hostess, while you may hope your experience at their stand is personable; you should expect your situation is handled with attention, and professionalism. Unfortunately my experience lacked any of
Very nice restaurant
We dined here twice last week, and enjoyed both meals. I admit that I’m a fan-boy of old, historic hotels & restaurants, and you can’t get much more historic than this place. The restaurant is beautiful (right on the South Rim). The service
Amazing restaurants with amazing view
Absolutely amazing lunch with amazing views. We had a server named Guy and he was absolutely wonderful. All the staff was outstanding and the food was delicious. Would 100% recommend. 10/10

Quite a lot of history in this beautiful restaurant and hotel. The service was spectacular. We were lucky as we went at lunch time around 2 pm and it was not busy. I recommend making a reservation . They turned away many walk ins. It is on the upscal
The food was incredible and our waiter Robert was very kind.
The view of the canyon is amazing as well.
Dinner in a noisy, outdated dark room.
Food was just ok. Totally overpriced. Better have dinner at the Bright Angel steakhouse next door, it is great!
The hostess lied to us about why she would not seat us at an empty table next to a window overlooking the Grand Canyon
We had breakfast there in a nearly empty dining room on a Tuesday morning. Our party of two asked if we could sit at an empty table next to the window overlooking the Grand Canyon. We were told that table would be for a party of four who was about to

We saw a mouse running around the tables in the dining room. A waiter definitely saw it and said nothing. I ordered the fillet mignon, it was amazing. Two stars.
Great Breakfast
My family and I ate breakfast and lunch here. The breakfast food was excellent, we all were extremely pleased with our food. My wife had eggs Benedict and loved it. One daughter had the Harvey House breakfast and the other had French toast, both wer

Best cosmopolitan I've ever had.
Wonderful ambience and of course the service was excellent. I wouldn't miss eating here if you're at the Grand Canyon
Great and affordable for breakfast.
Very expensive and good (just good) for dinner. You're mainly paying for the fantastic ambiance. Our servers were fantastic. The local fare includes local color such as prickly pear condiments, elk-based entrees and Arizona Gunslinger hot sau
Most upscale restaurant in the Grand Canyon Village.
We started in the cocktail lounge for a glass of wine and the nice view. Our server in the lounge was polite and attentive. When we transitioned to the dining room, they accommodated us with a great table near the window. My expectations for the di
Beautiful Dining Room
We had a lovely lunch here. Steak Sandwich and Southwest Chicken sandwich was good. It of course a lovely National Park hotel dining room. The staff was friendly and attentive. A bit pricey but it’s in the Park so I think I worth it. It’s about t
What you would expect at a National Park
Salads and bread were the best part. Both the Chicken and Chef’s Special, Pork Chop, were way overcooked and therefore disappointing dry. They ended up not charging us for one entry.
If you want to sit down and have a meal, this is a good stop
This is a historic hotel with an old fashioned dining room. You can see the canyon from the dining room a little bit. The lobby and the restaurant are dark and dated. (It is a historical place but has not been updated at all). We did get a reserva
Good Quality Food & Service
We were very impressed with the quality of both food & service at the El Tovar dining room. We loved the historic ambiance of the old hotel. The quality of the food was much better than I have experienced at most other National Park dining facili
No idea what dinner was like since they could not seat me for any of our three nights staying at the hotel.
Managed to eat breakfast here. Tried three times to get a dinner reservation, even three weeks in advance. No preferential treatment for hotel guests so never managed to get dinner here. Last night we were told that they were fully booked but later h

Arizona Exploring
The meal itself and the menu choices were average. Prices were what you would expect. The waitress was very nice. Be sure to ask for a table with a view. I had to book a month in advance online. There are not a lot of choices at the South Rim.
Historic Location
El Tovar is another wonderful example of a National Park historic hotel. In this case it was built by the Santa Fe railroad. The actual dining room was closed when we arrived so we sat in the bar attached to the dining area. It is dark and rich in th
Extremely rude staff
One of the worst customer service experiences I’ve ever had. I cannot speak to the quality of food or drink because we didn’t make it that far. After waiting 10 minutes outside the lounge, we still had not been acknowledged. I walked up to the ba

We liked our lunch here, and it was the ONLY meal in the Grand Canyon that was edible. In fact, it was a relief to eat good food! Thank you, El Tovar!

Scenic popular higher end eatery
Have to book reservations 2 weeks in advance at least, very popular place to eat. We ate lunch here twice, had nice tables near the fire and windows overlooking the canyon. Excellent service. We loved our waiter “Jordan” and our busboy “John”
Our expectations were high for this iconic restaurant but
Our expectations were high for this iconic restaurant but we were very disappointed. Our breakfast was poor. The acai bowls served were like soup with very little substance. My Benedict egg was disgustingly underdone. I returned it and waited over
Ambiance, Service, and Views were great.
Would recommend the French Onion Soup. The kids loved their 4 dollar spaghetti. The adult meals were a solid just ok. We learned that 2 Presents and a Beatle have eaten here. We rate it it one Ringo Starr.
This is the most American classic you can possibly ask for.
A real slice of Americana wrapped up in one of the most spectacular place G-d ever made in this country. Impeccable service, food and libations... A must do at least once in your life...like no other restaurant I've been to anywhere else. We were tr
Good food and great views but slow service
Easily the best food offerings in the park and you can't beat the view. We had breakfast here (reservations are not required for breakfast). We were seated promptly and received water immediately but waited about 45 minutes before our order was tak
Very memorable dinner overlooking the Canyon!
We had an A+ dinner at El Tovar! The service was fantastic, the dining room is historic and beautiful, with amazing views of the Canyon, and the food was great! We had the cheese board and meat to start, and the pork chop, which was delicious. Our

Jordan and Chris were our serving team for a late lunch here. The already rustic and cozy feel was amplified by the spates of hail hitting the roof in early March. The food ranged from excellent to awesome, with only one peril...I doubt any other
Just bad
I knew it wouldn’t be good once I tried the bread. Everything tasted old, previously frozen, and cheap. Nothing was fresh. We ordered the crab stack, ribeye, and chicken. The crab stack had avocado that looked like it had sat out all day. The rib
Service was good we had a large group.
Food was average, under seasoned, someone's chicken at our table was reported dry. Server had an issue with splitting the check and five ways with credit cards.Earlier in the day the bar at the next hotel over complained to a coworker that every time
